I do not own Naruto Shippuden or any of the characters.
Tails of Uchiha and Uzumaki
Ryuu landed on a rooftop about the size of the arena they had just left but a good distance from anyone from the Hidden Leaf Village. He had been following the ninja he had been supposed to fight but the ninja had only now stopped.
"I know you meant to kill me, but I think I'll kill you," Ryuu stated. "The fact that we're here just means I don't have to hold back."
"Same here," the ninja grinned before bowing. "Allow me to introduce myself. Aeron. Greatest of my brothers."
"I have to ask before we start, why my Sharingan and not Sasuke's?" Ryuu questioned.
"Because Sasuke's are not yours," Aeron stated. "Abilities of the Sharingan run in a family nine times out of ten. You would have acquired your older brother's. One in particular is what we're after. Kotoamatsukami."
"Why would you want that?" Ryuu questioned. "It can only be used once in a decade."
"Yes, but think about it like this," Aeron grinned. "If the jutsu could be used on a leader, the user would be able to make them do whatever they wanted. A rebellion could be ended without a single drop of blood spilled. Reigns could be changed without the trouble of dethroning the monarch. A tyrant could be made into a humble man, or a humble man into a tyrant, all within the space of seconds. Imagine the uses for a jutsu like that in a world like ours. We could achieve true piece."
"I see," Ryuu nodded. "Unfortunately, the thing you failed to think of is, I'm not giving you my eyes. That kind of power is too tempting. It would inevitably be used to gain power. I won't allow that."
Aeron sighed but nodded and drew a katana.
"Very well," Aeron sighed. "Then I suppose I will be taking it from you after all won't I?"
Naruto reached the others just in time to kick Gaara away from Sasuke. Sasuke was lying on a branch, barely awake and with the mark on his neck now covering most of his body as before. Gaara had his left arm and the right side of his face covered in sand forming the same arm that had left the dome and the sand half of Gaara's face had pointed teeth, a massive feline ear, a black sclera with a yellow iris and four-point star pupil. The sand was attached to his gourd which had a massive sand tail growing out of the bottom. Gaara stood and glared at them as Sasuke tried to push himself up, failing to do anything more than lift his head.
"What...what are you doing here?" Sasuke demanded.
"Hey, uh, Sakura," Naruto whispered. "Sakura. Earth to Sakura!"
"What to you want?" Sakura demanded.
"This guy over here," Naruto began pointing. "Who the Heck is he?"
"His outward appearance may be different, but he's the one you know as Gaara," Pakkun, who Naruto and Sakura had followed there, stated.
Naruto looked back at Gaara, staring in shock as Gaara stood, snarling and glaring at Naruto.
"So, it's you," Gaara growled. "You're the one we didn't kill that day."
Naruto recalled meeting Gaara in the hospital while visiting Lee and felt fear grip him. He turned toward the others, also remembering Gaara telling him that his job in life was simply to kill.
"Guys get up, we have to get out of here!" Just as he finished, Gaara flashed past him, lunging at Sasuke and Sakura.
"Die Sasuke Uchiha!" Gaara shouted, swiping at him.
Sakura stepped between them, holding a kunai out but shaking in fear.
"Sakura no!" Naruto shouted just before smashed his massive sand covered hand into Sakura instead.
"Move it!" he shouted, slamming her into a tree where she was knocked out on impact.
Gaara put his other hand to the sand covered side of his head, grunting in pain, squeezing his eyes closed.
Ryuu leapt over the blade of Aeron's katana, flipping sideways before landing on his feet and stepping forward, slashing at Aeron with his trench knife as Aeron leaned back, swinging upward at Ryuu. Ryuu blocked it with his kunai, spinning and kicking Aeron on the side of his head, sending him staggering away before he laughed and put his katana back in its seal.
"You can't hurt me Ryuu," Aeron laughed.
"It's not very fair with that armor," Ryuu pointed out. "If you are supposed to be unstoppable, take it off, and we'll test that."
Aeron laughed before reaching up and undoing the clasps on his shoulders, the armor falling to his feet and he stepped out of it. Then, he kicked it away and it crashed down in the street loudly. Ryuu sprinted forward again, slashing at Aeron who ducked under the blade, not moving nearly as fast now, then punched Ryuu, launching him back. Ryuu landed on his feet, grinning as Aeron drew his katana again.
"That's much better," Ryuu grinned. "Shall we continue?"
Naruto slammed into the tree, the sand shuriken scattering as Gaara, now with everything except his hair, the scar on his forehead, and his feet covered in sand, lowered his arms. Naruto set down the small toad he had summoned by accident upon attempting to summon the massive toad he had summoned during his training and stood, gritting his teeth.
"Wow, boy are you pathetic," the toad commented.
"Shut up," Naruto snapped.
"So who the heck is this freak anyway?" the toad asked looking over at Gaara.
Naruto thought about Gaara's strength and his claim that friends made one weaker. His faith in his own beliefs began to slip.
"What's the matter?" Gaara finally spoke up. "Are you afraid of me? Or are you still thinking of the best way to save your friends? Fool. Forget them. Think only of yourself. Love only yourself. That is what it means to be the strongest. What's wrong? You were so bold and cocky before. Show me your strength. Let me grind it into dust before your eyes. Attack you coward! Fight me or I'll kill the girl right now!"
Naruto leapt into the air toward Gaara, forming his shadow Clone Jutsu seal.
"Okay you asked for it!" Naruto shouted. "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
He created nearly a dozen of them and they all fell toward Gaara just as several mouths opened on his body, all inhaling sand from the air around him.
"Wind Style, Sand Storm Devastation!" Gaara shouted before exhaling a massive cloud of sand that destroyed the clones and blasted Naruto into a tree before clearing. "I think I'll toy with you a while. I'll watch you repent in your friends and beg for mercy before you die."
He fired several more Sand shuriken, these ones mashing through a tree before hitting Naruto, blasting him backward into the tree again.
Ryuu blocked the katana blade again, spinning past Aeron and slashing at his back with the kunai as Aeron spun, catching his fist then drove the point of his katana at Ryuu. Ryuu swept the blade aside then jumped kicking at Aeron. Aeron leaned backward out of the way as Ryuu's foot flashed over his head, followed by the other as Ryuu twisted his arm, the kunai cutting Aeron's hand and making him release Ryuu, allowing him to escape. Aeron turned toward Ryuu and Ryuu looked down at his injured side where Aeron's stab had managed to make contact, despite Ryuu blocking it. Ryuu sighed and put the kunai away, switching his trench knife to his left hand and drawing his tanto again. Aeron snorted in amusement, charging forward and slashing at Ryuu. Ryuu moved to block the attack, streaming his Wind Nature Chakra along his tanto's blade and it cut through the katana instantly. Ryuu spun, slashing at Aeron with the tanto and Aeron leapt back from the attack before stepping forward again, slashing at Ryuu with the blade's remains, now about as long as Ryuu's tanto. Ryuu spun, trench knife knocking the blade aside as he did before he slashed Aeron across the chest horizontally and Aeron leapt back. The cut was shallow and barely more than a scratch but still proved that Ryuu was better with his tanto and trench knife than with his trench knife and a kunai, considering it was the first time Ryuu had managed to land a blow with any blade on Aeron.
"I'm impressed," Aeron nodded. "You're not half bad. Neither am I."
He summoned a pair of gauntlets from seals on the outsides of his wrists, Ryuu instantly seeing the foot long blades on the outside of the gauntlets and readying himself.
"Let's go," Aeron grunted sprinting forward and beginning to attack Ryuu in a spinning blur of blades.
After several minutes, Ryuu blocked one blade to stop Aeron from spinning but Aeron simply bent his arm and continued, his other blade driving itself into Ryuu's abdomen. Ryuu disappeared in a cloud of smoke and the real one appeared behind Aeron, slashing with the tanto. Aeron blocked it, still back to, then spun, stabbing Ryuu in the left leg then slashed his left arm and back away a few feet.
Ryuu staggered backward, holding a hand over his leg's wound. After a moment, he put his trench knife away and created a Wind Blade on his tanto. He removed his forehead protector and tied it over the wound to slow the bleeding then sprinted forward, slashing rapidly at Aeron. Aeron blocked several slashes before darting forward, stabbing at Ryuu before Ryuu tossed his tanto into the air, the Wind Blade fading as a Flame Sword extended from his hand, blocking both gauntlet blades and the heat melted the blades instantly. Aeron leapt back, narrowly avoiding a slash then watched as Ryuu extinguished his Flame Sword and caught his tanto in one movement, Sharingan now active and glowing slightly.
"Enough of this," Ryuu snarled. "Let's finish this."
Naruto created several clones and took a breath.
"Here goes!" Naruto shouted. "Get ready for the ultimate Secret Taijutsu! Naruto Uzumaki, Clone Body Slam!"
Gaara laughed, extending his hand and catching three clones, the fourth landing on his hand and hurling Naruto who made his clone seal again.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto shouted creating another clone just in time for Gaara to grab it, Naruto falling behind Gaara. "And another, Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
He landed on the clone, spinning and leaping at Gaara.
"Take this, Leaf Village Secret Taijutsu, straight from the teachings of Kakashi Sensei, Thousand Years of Death!" Naruto shouted driving a kunai into Gaara's sand covered rear, doing absolutely nothing.
Gaara's sister, Pakkun, and the toad all watched in shock then humiliation, feeling embarrassment for Naruto's stupidity since he clearly didn't. Gaara looked back at Naruto, unimpressed for a moment before his tail smashed him away. As he flew, he grinned.
"Boom," Naruto said just before the paper bomb he had placed on the grip of the kunai exploded, blasting Gaara at point blank range.
Sasuke managed to catch Naruto with his own body and they watched the smoke for signs of life.
"Hey, you okay?" Naruto asked, looking down at Sasuke.
As the smoke cleared, it revealed a massive crater in the tree with Gaara standing in it, the sand on the right half of his body falling away slowly.
"All of that work, and you only scored one blow?" Sasuke scoffed.
"Put a sock in it," Naruto huffed.
"Naruto, listen to me," Sasuke growled. "You have to save Sakura if it's the last thing you do. Once you've got her, I want you to take her and flee as fast as you can. It's all up to you."
He began to push himself up, struggling to move.
"Sasuke...you..." Naruto trailed off, seeing the determination on Sasuke's face.
"I can...hold him here...a little longer," Sasuke stated. "If it ends here, it just means this was as far as I was meant to go. I lost everything once. I don't ever want to have to see that again. My trusted comrades falling right in front of me. Find Ryuu if you can and help him. He'll be able to stop Gaara. If I can't."
"Your trusted comrades?" Naruto asked, partially ignoring the last part. "Sasuke...I get it now."
Naruto stood, hands curling into fists.
"Of course," Naruto stated. "He's no different than I am. Going through life with the exact same sadness and loneliness that I had to carry. He fought only for himself, never relying on anyone, and because of that, I thought that he possessed strength. I really did."
"Naruto," Sasuke muttered.
"I dunno, I guess I shoulda known better," Naruto shrugged. "That's not what real strength is. If you never fight for anyone but yourself, you'll never be strong no matter what you do."
He formed a hand seal, beginning to gather his chakra, the chakra forming a massive cage dome around him as it flew off of him. Naruto would not lose this fight.
Fu sprinted along the rooftop before leaping to the next and stopping, Yugao landing in front of her, mask on and sword out.
"Who are you?" Fu asked reaching for a kunai.
"My name is unimportant," Yugao stated. "I know who you are, and what you're actually doing here. I won't let you succeed. I'll stop you here."
"Is that right?" Fu asked drawing the kunai and hurling it at Yugao then drawing her trench knives and sprinting forward.
Yugao slashed the kunai out of the air then blocked a slash from Fu before ducking under a second and kicking Fu away. She followed, slashing at her and Fu blocked it, shoving the blade away and spinning, slashing Yugao across the stomach. Yugao staggered sideways, Hayate's face and memories of training with him flashing through her mind.
"Too slow ANBU," Fu stated. "Now, what's this about? What is it you think I have planned? Killing Ryuu?"
Yugao turned, two clones appearing to her sides and all three sprinted forward, slashing at Fu. Fu blocked two blades, kicking the flat side of the third and sending the sword flying away before glancing upward and her eyes widened, seeing a fourth Yugao falling toward her.
"Shit!" Fu snarled diving to the side, out of the way of the fourth's sword blade.
She stood, charging forward and disappeared in a flash of light as the first clone slashed at her. She reappeared next to the fourth clone and slashed that one and two beside her, all three exploding into smoke. Fu dove forward, Yugao's sword carving a shallow cut into her lower back, blood staining her skirt. She landed on her feet, turning toward Yugao as Yugao blurred forward, leaving an after image trail. Yugao began to zigzag as she neared Fu then slashed at her from the right. Fu blocked it and slashed at Yugao. Yugao leaned back the kunai carving a scratch into her mask.
Yugao leapt into the air, spinning and kicking Fu aside then pursuing her.
Ryuu leapt to his left as countless weapons of all types rained down where he had been then in a trail after him. Ryuu sprinted around the roof, the weapons following. When he had said they should end the fight, he hadn't expected Aeron to leap onto the roof of a higher building and begin unloading every weapon he had sealed on his person in an attempt to skewer Ryuu. Ryuu finally flipped over, firing a barrage of Wind Style Air Bullets into the air, blocking the last of the weapons which fell to the street below, the ongoing battle, seemingly an invasion, between Leaf Village shinobi and a combination of Sand and Sound village shinobi having finally reach them.
Aeron landed inside the circle of roof that had no weapons, directly across from Ryuu, and began making hand seals. Ryuu mirrored him, feeling his chakra reserves being nearly empty.
"Fire Style, Dragon Flame Bomb!" Aeron shouted.
"Fire Style, Dragon Flame Bomb!" Ryuu repeated, both exhaling a massive stream of flames.
The flames formed two flaming dragons and the two jutsus crashed into each other in a massive fiery explosion. As the smoke began to settle, Ryuu drew his tanto again just as Aeron sprinted out of it with a large broadsword held in both hands. He slashed at Ryuu and Ryuu bent backwards out of the way, creating a Flame Sword on his left hand and slashed at Aeron, forcing him to leap back just long enough for Ryuu to form a Wind Blade and let the Flame Sword fade.
Aeron stabbed at Ryuu and Ryuu stepped forward, moving the blade just enough to his left for it to miss before transitioning his block into a stab, the blade piercing Aeron's heart.
Sand exploded into the air from where Gaara had been after Naruto and his two thousand clones had blasted him with two thousand punches. All of Naruto's clones were destroyed, Naruto narrowly escaping being hit as well. The Sand twisted together, forming a massive raccon-looking creature made out of sand.
"So that's it, the monster inside of him," Naruto muttered.
"Well what do you know," Gaara spoke from the behemoth without its mouth moving. "I never thought you would bring this out of me!"
The behemoth raised its right arm and sand shot up around Naruto, forming a cocoon around him, blocking out the entire world to him. All he could hear was the dull roar of sand rubbing against sand beside his ears. He squeezed his eyes closed, reaching up to wipe blood from his lip before lowing his hand, the cocoon tightening.
"This is the end for you," Gaara stated. "Sand Buria-"
"Summoning Jutsu!" Naruto shouted, the sand exploding off as a massive cloud of smoke shot into the air, leaving Naruto atop a massive toad wearing a happi vest and holding a massive pipe in its mouth with a massive blade hung at its waist.
The toad was roughly the same size as the creature Gaara had become, but he doubted it would be anywhere near as powerful.
"What the...not you again," the Toad complained looking up at Naruto. "What is this? Huh?"
He looked forward at Gaara and simply sat there for a moment.
"Well will you look at that," the toad mused. "Shukaku the Sand Spirit."
"Whatta ya say?" Naruto asked. "Will ya fight alongside me today Chief Toad?"
"Take a hike," the Toad snorted. "Why go out of my way to mess with a guy like him? What am I, an idiot?"
"Why? Are you kidding me?" Naruto demanded. "You already told me you would make me your henchman, didn't you? It's natural that a boss would want to help his henchman isn't it? Don't you have any sense of duty?"
"Yeah sure, I told you I'd make you my henchman, but we haven't even sealed the deal yet have we?" the toad asked.
"Come on!" Naruto shouted. "Give me a break! I'm not old enough to make any kind of a deal yet! What's the matter with you?"
He stopped when the smaller toad landed on his head and looked down at the larger one.
"Ah, come on Pops, don't be like that," the small toad spoke up. "Why dontcha just settle down and hear the kid out."
"Huh? Pops?" Naruto gaped.
"And just what do you think you're doing here Gamakichi?" Chief Toad demanded.
"I had nothing else to do, I just came to hang out," Gamakichi stated.
"You're father and son?" Naruto shouted.
"By the way Pops, that big ugly lug over there was pickin' on me before," Gamakichi spoke up.
"Come again?" Chief Toad snarled eyes narrowing at Gaara.
"Oh yeah, and when he did, our friend here came to my rescue," Gamakichi stated. "He went head-to-head and toe-to-toe with that monster. I'm tellin' ya Pops, there's a heck of a lot more to this kid than meets the eye."
"Is that right?" Chief Toad growled gripping his sword. "Okay Kid, you're hereby accepted as my henchman. Sit tight, I'll show you what duty is all about."
He drew his blade, holding it in reverse grip in front of himself for a moment.
"I'll take him down, but not before he's payed for what he's done," Chief Toad stated. "That worthless little flunky!"
He held his blade at his side with both hands and charged.
"Hang on tight small fry!" he shouted.
Finally, he leapt into the air, slashing at Gaara's right shoulder, burying his blade in it.
"How do ya like that?" Chief Toad shouted.
He leapt past Gaara, taking the arm off and sending it spinning into the air.
Fu kicked Yugao's sword, sending it spinning through the air before slashing at Yugao. Yugao caught her wrists, jumping and planting both feet in Fu's chest and launching her away. Fu landed on her feet and one hand just as an explosion shook the roof under them. Yugao, who had lunged for her sword, lost her balance and stumbled at Fu.
"You lose," Fu shouted leaping at her.
Yugao spun, catching her kick then continued to spin, hurling Fu back into the roof where she remained motionless.
"Not yet," Yugao snarled. "You don't have the training to beat me."
Yugao walked over to her sword, picking it up and walking toward Fu.
"Goodbye Fu," Yugao growled. "It was nice knowing you."
She raised her sword over her head but just as it began to descend, Fu leapt up, grabbing Yugao's hands and driving the blade down into the ground before slamming Yugao's torso down on the buttcap. Yugao coughed, vomit splattering across the roof before she stumbled past the sword and turned toward Fu. Fu's fist connected with her jaw, just behind her mask and Yugao collapsed, the blow having knocked her unconscious. Her mask spun away, smashing into pieces in the street and revealing her face to Fu.
"I thought so," Fu snorted. "You'll live this time. But only because I have to get to Ryuu."
With that, Fu turned and sprinted along the rooftops toward the battle again.
The blast knocked the massive Toad out of the sky, Naruto and the small toad going along for the ride.
"Yeah!" Shukaku, now in control as Gaara had materialized his upper body and then gone to sleep to allow Shukaku to take control, cheered. "I did it! I killed him! I killed him!"
"Now that kind of hurt," the massive Toad stated leaping out of the smoke and over Shukaku. "That was an awful lot of chakra that you blasted me with. I have to admit, hit me with a couple more of those, even I won't last much longer."
"Chief, what should we do?" Naruto shouted.
"Well for starters, you can wake up the spiritualist medium to release that jutsu," the toad replied.
"How am I suppose to do that?" Naruto demanded.
"Just fire off a few rounds at him," the toad shouted then dodged out of the way of another blast of wind while still airborne. "Liquid Bullets!"
He fired a massive blast of water at Shukaku but he missed entirely. The massive wall of water did, however, give the toad enough time to grab Shukaku by the shoulders.
"Now's your chance," the toad stated just before Shukaku stepped back, breaking free instantly and forcing the toad to leap backward.
"Hey Chief, you're gonna have to keep a grip on him if you want me to get a shot in," Naruto stated.
"My body doesn't have any claws or horns to dig into the enemy with," the toad stated.
"Then what the heck are we supposed to do?" Naruto demanded.
"Use the transformation jutsu to change into something we need," the toad stated. "Then again, I'm not particularly good at transformations. Dont' worry about it, you shall act upon my will and make a hand sign."
"What?" Naruto gaped.
"A combined transformation," the toad explained.
"Uh, okay," Naruto gulped.
"Conjure up something with fangs and claws!" the toad ordered.
"Let's see...uh..." Naruto thought, panicking.
"Here we go," the toad stated charging forward.
"Hey, wait a second!" Naruto complained. "Uh, fangs and claws, fangs and claws, fangs and claws."
"Transform!" the toad ordered.
"Transformation Jutsu!" Naruto shouted as smoke engulfed the pair.
After a moment, a trail of smoke stretched away from the cloud before breaking and the Nine-tailed Demon Fox leapt out, snarling with rage and malice. It charged forward on its four feet, the front two actually looking more like hands. Shukaku fired a blast of Wind at the Nine-tails but it leapt over the blast, landing beside Shukaku before being batted aside by Shukaku's tail. It landed on its feet before darting forward again. It leapt into the air, taking two swipes at Shukaku, who avoided both before firing again, again the Nine-tails avoiding the blast.
"This isn't gonna work," Chief Toad spoke, now as the Nine-tails. "His power just keeps increasing."
"Come on, he just needs a good smack to the head," Naruto stated.
"Tell me something I don't know," the toad growled using one of its new tails to rip a tree from the ground before lunging forward, missing Shukaku, barely, and spinning around, leaping into the air.
"Now take this!" Shukaku shouted firing a blast at the fox.
Chief Toad hurled the tree into the blast, blocking it before landing directly in front of Shukaku from the smoke, sinking his fangs and claws into Shukaku, making Shukaku scream in pain.
"Okay Kid, you're on!" the toad stated.
The fox disappeared in a cloud of smoke, replaced by the toad again as Naruto leapt off, falling toward Gaara.
"Rise and shine!" Naruto shouted punching Gaara before landing on Shukaku's snout. "How's that."
"Good, not much time has passed since the medium went under," the toad stated. "That one blow should have done the trick."
"Aaahhh that's just great!" Shukaku shouted. "Give me a break, I just got here!"
His golden eyes turned the color of sand again and he fell silent.
"We may have released the jutsu, but this guy's still got some fight left," the toad stated, Shukaku's body beginning to force him backward, toward Sasuke and Sakura.
Naruto sprinted forward, toward Gaara who did not look happy. Just as he was about to jump, the sand making up Shukaku's body caught both of his feet, stopping him.
"Sand Coffin!" Gaara shouted, sand beginning to stream toward Naruto.
"Help him Pops!" Gamakichi shouted.
"I got him," the toad stated, reaching his tongue out and wrapping it around Naruto, protecting him from the sand.
"The Chief's tongue is surrounding me," Naruto noted.
"You think I'm a fool?" Gaara raged.
The sand below Naruto began to reach up his leg, covering Naruto and dragging him downward. Chief Toad retracted his tongue, growling in frustration.
"How much strength does this guy have left?" the toad demanded. "This ain't good. Naruto and I have already used up all of our chakra."
"I'll wipe you from the face of the Earth," Gaara snarled. "I will not cease to exist!"
Naruto looked behind himself, seeing Sakura, even from the massive distance between them. Sasuke's words replayed in his head and he looked back to Gaara.
I'm running out of time, Naruto thought. I have to stop this monster before its too late.
"Believe me, I will not cease to exist," Gaara growled as Naruto formed the Ram Seal.
"I don't need much," Naruto said, reaching out to the demon inside himself as Jiraiya had taught him. "Just give me...give me some chakra."
He felt the demon's chakra coursing through his body, exploding off of himself in orange waves like flames. The force of it broke the zipper of his jacket open and broke his headband off, blowing it away. His hands began to turn red.
I am going to protect everyone! Naruto thought lowing his hands to his sides. "Get ready you crazy monster!"
"Die!" Gaara shouted forming the Ram Seal.
Naruto leapt at him, the sand below his feet reaching up after him, catching his arms just before his fist could reach Gaara.
Naruto tried to break his hand free, pulling himself forward in the process.
"I..." Naruto growled. "I've had it with you!"
He smashed his forehead into Gaara's, hard enough that blood began to run down both of their foreheads, cracks spreading out around Gaara.
"Don't...trust...the bitch," Aeron growled, leaning heavily on Ryuu's shoulder as Ryuu let his Wind Blade fade and put his tanto away.
"What do you mean?" Ryuu asked.
"She's not...what she seems," Aeron stated. "She's my...top agent."
"Who?" Ryuu asked.
Aeron pulled himself up to Ryuu's ear, whispering a name then telling Ryuu several things that he needed to know and that could probably save his life. Then, Aeron collapsed just as Fu landed off to his left staring at Aeron in shock.
"I guess you didn't need help after all," Fu blinked before Ryuu drew his tanto and trench knife, readying himself. "What's wrong?"
"He told me who you are, why you kept helping me," Ryuu stated. "You worked for Aeron. He ordered you to gain my trust then, when he attacked me, you would show up and help him. You lied to me every step of the way. When you 'fled' him and his brother when rescuing me, you didn't have to run. You were just playing it up for the sake of tricking me."
Fu remained silent, staring at the ground, tears rolling down her face.
"So tell me, why leave?" Ryuu asked. "Why not just stay with me? It would have been that much easier to get me to trust you."
"I was trying to figure a way out of it, hoping that if I left I wouldn't have to follow through with the orders," Fu stated.
"Bull shit," Ryuu said flatly. "I know better than that Fu, and you can stop with the fake tears. He told me that he suspected you of being a double agent for another group. he said you met with the others every once in a while and that he suspected that person wanted my eyes for their own purpose."
Fu again remained silent but tears still rolled down her face.
"I wasn't lying all the time," Fu said quietly after a few moments.
"What?" Ryuu snapped.
"I...I do care about you," Fu stated. "I know you won't believe me, but you are important to me."
"You'll forgive me if I don't bother to listen to you lie anymore," Ryuu growled. "I'm going to kill you, then I'm going to burn your body away to nothing."
Fu took a shaking breath and looked up at him, eyes red from crying but shook her head.
"No, you won't," Fu stated before exhaling a cloud of dust.
Ryuu crouched, readying himself just before the sun came out from behind a cloud, the light hitting the dust which flashed a blinding light. Just as it did, Ryuu felt a sharp pain on the back of his neck and everything went black.
Read and review.
