Heidi Vincenzo's heels clicked lightly against the marble floor, their echo reaching the high ceiling and back with absolutely no problem as she made her way through the castle toward the chambers of his old friend. Only, instead of searching for him, she was in search of his ward. In her mind, Heidi somewhat amusedly replayed the way she'd sat in front of Alec on one of the many tables in the big Volturi library.

"Where's your little puttana, Alec?" Heidi's chiseled brow had risen. From what she had seen, and heard, her old friend, Alec, had been working with Aro's latest jewel. The very old Anne Boleyn, and he didn't have much time to be with his friends or by himself, the way he'd been at that moment, though the look in his eyes quickly gave her a light idea of why.

"Lei non è puttana." He'd quickly barked, with eyes sharply staring at her for a moment. A fact that only allowed for a raise of her brows upon the realisation that, as far as Heidi knew, he had absolutely no claim on Anne. As far as everyone knew, the Queen was merely someone he was training... right? "And I'm glad you showed up." He'd continued after a pause, breaking her from his nosy means. "I had a favour to ask of you."

Heidi leaned forward and crossed a leg over the other while she spoke."Oh, you do?" Not even a second later, a perfectly manicured hand extended a finger to slide down Alec's arm in a sultry manner.

A motion that the boy easily managed to evade by a swift movement in his seat. "Not that kind of favour." He announced; looking at her from behind deep long lashes that fell away to look at the papers upon his desk.

"And why should I help you out, hm?" The brunette wondered, rather unwillingly falling back against the rest of her chair; for whatever request that could come from him, suddenly seemed boring

For her, obviously, because Alec seemed as amused as ever. "Remember the Santiago incident?" He wondered whilst his lips lifted in his most alluring smile, mirroring her previous lean almost perfectly. Heidi knew exactly what he was talking about, and there was no way that she would be able to refuse after reminding her of that. The roll of her eyes that she displayed was enough for Alec to smile with satisfaction. "Take Anne out on a shopping spree?" He finally asked. "She's in need of an up-to-date wardrobe that doesn't revolve around my closet or the bag with counted outfits."

Something that only made the other's arms cross under her chest. "This is a big thing you're asking me, kid." She voiced, nearly narrowing her eyes in his direction line a spoiled teenage girl. "Where in my schedule do you want me to fit Anne in?" Alec's brows rose. "Is there even a fashionable bone in her body?!"

The guard's amused snort took Heidi of guard. "She was one of the most fashionable people in the world at one point, Heidi. Maybe you could use a history lesson," His eye twitched in a wink as he stood from his seat, picking up the papers he'd been looking at when Heidi had arrived. "Do this one thing for me and I swear we're even. 'Kay?"

And so she had; though, instead of taking Alec's advice, Heidi had brought a tailor to the castle to custom size things for Anne. The thing was that she had been the boy's friend for a long while, which allowed her to have the joy of being used to a lack of knocking upon the door of his chambers before she simply barged in; a fact that she took advantage of without truly thinking about it, and had her easily walking in on Anne examining and blowing air over what looked like a notebook with beautiful binding. As always, nosy, Heidi smirked and sped towards the once queen, plucking the notebook out of her grasp to see what she'd been doing. In it, a completely realistically detailed drawing of Alec was drawn, with a freshly added signature: Anne's. "Working though pent up stalker tendencies, your Majesty?"

Of course, Anne's eyes instantly widened, and a bubbling sensation of anger started filling her insides; her manners screamed at her to remain calm as she looked at Heidi. "Please, give it back." The hand that had been holding onto her pencil outstretched in a slightly desperate motion; not that she let it show, of course.

Heidi completely ignored Anne's pleas as she moved away from her, wetting her thumb to glance through the other pages of the journal with a fixed brow. "You've been busy." She said with a light snicker to wave the journal in front of the desperate queen teasingly, counting the writings, sketches of many places in the castle and words that she nearly read, the brunette guard found it easy to continue teasing.

Anne's features shifted in anger, unable to stop the rage that had begun prior, and suddenly thankful that she wasn't a human girl who could easily blush, for she knew that if she were, she'd be doing so, if not of embarrassment, then anger. "Will you stop acting like a five year old and give me back my book? It's private, and well none of your business, Heidi." The light opinion she'd made of the brunette upon the first time she met her had easily started shattering at her childishness right in that moment.

A means that only had Heidi's eyes narrowing for a moment before angrily dropping the object at Anne's feet. "Leave it." She ordered as the once-Queen instantly kneeled to pick it up. Not that she listened to her command, per se, for she placed the journal within the confines of a black shoulder bag before her eyes lifted to look at Heidi again; there was a frown adorning the middle of her forehead. "You have an appointment to go to, Anne." Heidi finished before she turned to walk out of the room without stopping. "Chop, chop."

Anne's movements were as quick as a blink now; all thanks to her mentor, who had encouraged her abilities to unravel in such a manner that by the time Heidi was about to reach the stairs, Anne had been able to hide her bag under one of the pillows of the bed and had ran to stand beside her; the tone in her voice very much lighter than before. "What appointment?" She asked with childlike curiosity.

"You're getting a new wardrobe." Heidi informed her as she turned to look at the other as if she hadn't been viciously taunting her a second ago. "Did Alec not tell you?" Almost instantly, Anne shook her head; and before she knew it, Heidi's tone turned had turned mocking. "Yeah! Along with your own room and maybe even a window." Both vampires continued walking as the sarcasm rolled off of the walls.

"You don't have to be rude." Anne started after a very exasperated sigh left her lips. She couldn't help but wonder if this was her guardian's strange way of letting her know he was growing tired of her. Heidi scoffed before Anne spoke again. "I refuse to apologise for something I did not start," she confessed. "I only expect my privacy to be respected."

Such seemed to be all Heidi needed to hear so she could turn in her heels with such haste that nearly startled the once-Queen; the guard faced her, giving her back to giant black wooden door only five hundred meters away from Alec's own. "You murdered islanders, nearly announced us to the world, and were the Queen of England a few centuries ago." Heidi recited with eyes nearly piercing Anne's own as she continued in her repeated note of anger. "And, to top it all off, you are part of the Volturi now. You shouldn't expect your privacy to be respected when you're placed in such categories, your highness."

Anne's eyes turned away from Heidi's in a short roll as she tried to ignore the sarcastic tone mocking her in her last words. "That's crap, and you know it." She announced, not daring to allow her frame to shift backward, or lower itself in any way that would imply an intimidation that she didn't come close to feeling from the other. "You invaded my privacy, and I could easily run along to Lord Aro, who seems to be rather fond of me as of late, and tell him of my discomfort around you." She warned. "Now, I know I am no higher than you at the moment, but I'm a great student; someone who has not once made him regret his decision to recruit me into the coven, so I believe, regardless of stature, I hold the higher ground on this one, don't you think?"

To her satisfaction, Heidi didn't answer; instead she allowed the grimace of a misbehaved child to take over her lips before she turned to open the door they'd stopped in front of; a door that, as soon as it opened, left Anne's throat burning with the fire she only recognized when she was incredibly thirsty. It was a feat that made her curious enough to move forward and nearly immediately forgo the exchange between her and the other guard; when she did finally enter the room, she realized the source of the scorch. In the room, countless racks of clothing, a human tailor, and a center perch were set. Heidi's arms crossed as her feet led her aside for Anne to meet her tailor. "This is Paolo." The guard announced toward the transfixed once-Queen. "He's worked with us since he was an apprentice; he knows and doesn't care about what we are." Only at those words did Anne look at her again. Heidi only motioned for her to approach the human with a nod of her head, but she didn't even wait until Anne moved before she addressed the Italian man. "Paolo, questo è Anna Bolina. Probabilmente avete sentito parlare di lei. Indirizzo lei come si farebbe chiunque altro." The man simply nodded before turning away.

Anne, though, only felt her lips parting in confusion at the language being spoken. "I beg your pardon..." She voiced as humiliation reigned over her, something that allowed her the reminder that she had to tell Alec to teach her the language. "Do you mind speaking in English?"

Paolo turned to look at Heidi again, and she nodded once toward him before looking at Anne. "Go ahead." Immediately, Heidi walked to take the seat the man had been using before; watching him as he so easily shifted though the racks upon racks of clothes that adorned basically all of the walls. He carried a few things and offered them to Heidi, whose hand almost immediately rested on a silk black dress that only had a strap on one shoulder, light flaps adorned the strap. She pulled it off of the heap he had offered her, and gave it to the designer. "This one." Anne didn't know what surprised her more, that Heidi had chosen a rather beautiful dress, or that she actually liked the design. The human's voice was deeply accented as he nodded, offered the dress to Anne and asked her politely to undress so he could situate the dress on perfectly; an action that only left Anne's eyes widening at his request. They instantly lifted to look at Heidi with a furrowed brow, who didn't even attempt to hide the roll of her eyes before waving her unspoken discomfort away. "Just do it, Anne." She said, watching as the once-Queen took the dress from the designer's hands.

She was not about to stay quiet. "I have to undress in front of him?" She voiced with a single motion in Paolo's direction. "I'm aware this is not the century I was born in, and you may call me old fashioned if you wish, but even you must know that undressing in front of a stranger of the opposite sex when one holds no attraction to them is not only inappropriate, but wrong." Anne tried to reason with her as her eyes danced between the other vampire and the human designer. "Perhaps in a changing room? I have been to a few stores in my time to know that those are a thing in this day and age."

Heidi shifted forward before she spoke. "Did we not just have a discussion about privacy, Anne?" Her arms crossed in such a way that made the once-Queen's rage return when the sentiment of feeling like a little girl being disciplined filled her entirely. As Anne's eyes turned to look at the human, Heidi encouraged. "There is no changing room here, so go on." The guard encouraged. "Get on with it, we don't have all day."

So far, Anne's record within the Volturi was spotless, and she liked it that way; it made for the continuance of Aro's protection, which, when he was the leader and head of the coven, made for a wonderful variety of opportunities. But if the situation continued the way it was, even Anne knew that he poise would last so long, and, if she wasn't careful, she could end up ripping Heidi's head off; perhaps it was the very gaze that her anger invited forward, that made the human man gulp upon her unbreakable stare. It seemed to accidentally be enough for him to either already knew or realise that nothing good would come out of him staring at Anne while changing, for, without her saying a word, he turned around and pretended to be busy with the rack of clothing near Heidi. And the latter so easily watched as Anne finally started undressing; two out of two won by her. She didn't even realise when her time with the once-Queen had turned into a competition of wit and power; of course, Heidi could do nothing but roll her eyes as she waited for Anne to dress again; her arms uncrossed as she stepped forward once the dress was zipped up perfectly on Anne's slim form. "It looks good." She said, a genuine smile lifting her features friendly, though forcefully through her continued defeat.

Anne's curls grazed her arm as her head tilted in a little motion. Crimson hues shifted toward the full length mirror near her so she could see what Heidi saw. As if on cue, the human designer turned around to look at the two once again. The dark material of the silk made the glistening gold of the "B" pendant resting against the once-Queen's throat become accentuated in exposure. "It's not bad." She announced with some level of disagreement.

"Not bad?" Heidi countered. "It's gorgeous." Only for a moment did she dare grin before she moved behind Anne to undo the zipper and sped back in the direction of the heap where she had already picked out a new outfit for Anne. It was a soft cotton dress, shades of black and pink adored it in elegant stripes from the mid-thigh hem of the skirt to the straps that would rest on her shoulders. Anne almost admitted out loud how much better she liked this decision. The man, once again turned around, using the preparation of a hanger for the one dress Heidi had stated was of her liking as an excuse to not look at her while she changed, which made Anne feel grateful enough to have to remind herself to thank him later for being as proper a gentleman as the situation gave him permission to be.

Her hands wrapped around the soft material of the dress Heidi offered her before she forced herself to change quickly in front of her; in fact, she made a big deal of keeping her sight on the guard as she moved, for she refused to let any situation shake her in the slightest. At a point, though, the girl moved, allowing a short sigh to escape Anne's lips when she finished, for Heidi was offering her a pair of a light shade of blue heels made of a beautiful material that glistened as if they were made of pure glass when the light hit them. Somewhat reluctantly, she put them on as well.

Heidi's heels clicked against the ground as she rounded Anne with a narrowed expression, as if she could see something was missing in the dress. And, shortly after stopping right in front of the once-Queen, she approached her to pinch at the hem and waist of the dress she wore. "How do you feel about taking it up about two inches?" Heidi's question wasn't directed at Anne, but at the tailor. She had been put in charge of Anne's clothes, so she would attempt to do exactly what she'd been asked to; when the man agreed and made a silent note on the notebook set atop the table, Heidi felt her lips lifting in a smile before she let go of the dress.

On the other hand, Anne's eyes had widened as soon as he had spoken; though she had been hiding and living in a world where women showed their body like it wasn't a precious thing, she had never, throughout all of her lived experiences, turned into one of them. So the moment Heidi suggested making an already short skirt even shorter, her eyes nearly left her sockets. "Sir, no." She called, encouraging Heidi's smile to disappear as her blue heeled feet led her forward in the direction of the heap of clothes upon the table. "I beg you to disregard that note; the skirt is short enough." Without even waiting for the man to reply, or act, Anne addressed the other girl with an expression that simply refused to waver from is displeased continuation. "Heidi, I don't care that you suddenly dislike me," She announced with a raised hand. "But, if I understand right, this is an appointment for my wardrobe, not yours, so I suggest you let me make the decisions from now on." She paused. "You and I, clearly, have a different kind of taste, and if you don't agree to let me take the reins on this one, then you can go ahead and tell Aro that I said so."

It felt to Anne as if, were it for Heidi, not only would she become forced to lose the royal mindset that she had forbidden herself to let go of, but that her entire wardrobe would have to be lowered to that of someone with absolutely no sense of self-respecting taste; the way almost every woman in this century seemed to do. She truly felt as if the "appointment" with Heidi would be simply terrifyingly long, but she had decided to finally attempt taking matters into her own hands, and Heidi, after the words that had so easily quieted her, clearly had no other choice than to comply.

It seemed as if her attempts at quieting Anne Boleyn, at making her submit to her will, had backfired faster than the idea had formed.

To Be Continued.
