Lightwood's Manor
Clary had been holding on to Jace for quite sometime now. She realized when she felt the cool air on her face, that he had lead her outside.
"Jace what are we doing outside?" She asked.
"You'll see." He replied, laughing. After about ten more steps Jace moved his hand from Clary's, to her lower back.
"We're here. " He said. Clary slowly opened her eyes.
"I thought since we missed dinner…" Jace began when Clary cut him off.
"Jace this is wonderful." Clary said as she gazed at the plaid blanket on the ground. She looked over at Jace and smiled. Then she sat down on the blanket and began to look around at the food.
"I see you like Chinese?" She asked. He smiled, taking a seat next to her.
"Who doesn't?" He asked.
"True." She replied. She then leaned over to him and place a simple kiss on his cheek.
After finishing their meal Clary and Jace talked a little about her father. Jace was trying to think of ways to get Clary to leave. But no matter what he came up with she constantly shot it down. Finally tired of being shot down, Jace decided that it was probably time to call it a night. So the two kissed and went their separate ways. Clary to Izzy's room and Jace to Alec's.
Alec's Room
"Jace what's wrong with you? You've been in a slump ever since you got back from dinner with Clary. What happen?" Alec asked. Jace simply looked at him and shook his head.
"Nothing happened. That's the problem." He replied.
"What do you mean 'nothing'?" Alec asked.
"I mean N-O-T-H-I-N-G." Jace replied. Alec sighed.
"Well what do you expect from her? You guys haven't been together that long Jace. She's probably not ready. Plus you said she said she's never really had a boyfriend. You can't expect her to know what to do." Alec explained. Jace laughed and sat down on Alec's extra bed.
"That is so not what I meant Alec. I mean...Nevermind. Look I'm tired. Let's just get some sleep."
Izzy's Room
"Hey Izzy." Clary said as she made it to Izzy's room.
"Hey." Izzy replied, looking up from her phone.
"Whatcha doing?" Clary asked.
"Oh, nothing really. Why?" Izzy asked in return. Clary shrugged her shoulders. Izzy knew her well enough to know that something was wrong.
"What is it?" She asked Clary. Clary closed the bedroom door and walked over to Izzy's vanity dresser, and sat down. She began to look in the mirror at her face. She saw Izzy suddenly appear in the mirror. She had a hair brush in hand.
"Talk to me." Izzy said, as she began to calmly brush Clary's hair.
"Okay." Clary began. She began to talk about Jace and how wonderful he is to her. She told Izzy all about the parties. She told her how Jace kissed her gently at the New Years party, and how he is always gentle with her. Then Clary lifted her hand up to look at Izzy. She looked her in the eyes.
"He knows." She told her. Izzy quickly dropped the hair brush.
"How did he find out?" She asked, frantically.
"Long story short, I lost my stele and couldn't heal myself. He showed up at my window." Clary explained. Izzy just stared at her dumbfounded. She was speechless.
"Izzy?" Clary asked after five minutes.
"What did he do?" Izzy finally asked.
"Nothing. He is trying to figure out a way to get me to leave with him." Clary explained.
"Good. You should leave with him." She replied.
"You don't understand Izzy. If I leave then Valentine will hunt us both down. He will hurt Jace. Not just him either. He'll hurt my mother too."
"Well then what are you going to do?" Izzy asked.
"I'm not sure. I just need to get some sleep. I have to go home tomorrow for training, and I have to deal with the wrath of Valentine." Clary explained as she got up and went to the door.
"I'll see you tomorrow morning." She said as she left the room and went to the guest room.
Guest Room
Clary had just began to doze off when she heard the guest room door creaking open. She rolled over away from the door.
"Clary?" Someone whispered.
"Clary are you sleeping?" They whispered again. Clary couldn't seem to place the whispered voice, so she decided to pretend to be asleep. She heard the door being pulled closed quietly. She breathed a sigh of relief, until she felt someone on the bed with her. Whoever was now in the room with her moved closer to her and placed their arm over her. The mystery person was warm and had large arms. As the person got closer she realized who it was. His smell was intoxicating.
"Jace?" She whispered.
"Did I wake you?" He whispered back. Clary rolled over, her face was now at his chest. She looked up into his eyes.
"No." She said, smiling. He pulled her up to him and kissed her gently.
They laid there, kissing and holding on to one another for hours. Until Clary finally pulled away and looked him in the eyes again.
"Jace?" She asked.
"Yes?" He asked, with a worried look on his face.
"I'm ready." She said confidently. A surprised and confused look rose on Jace's face.
"Oh my, Jace. Not for that." She replied, trying to hide the giggle that rose in her stomach.
"I'm ready to get out. I'm ready to leave my parents." She said.
"Are you sure?" He asked, hope clearly visible in his tone.
"More sure than I've ever been. Jace, I am ready." She replied again.
"Okay. We'll leave tomorrow then." He replied. Clary smiled and began to kiss him again.
She pulled away and looked at him.
"Wait...Why were you shocked that I might've been ready for the other thing?" She asked. Jace smirked.
"Umm…" He hesitated.
"What?" She asked.
"I don't know Clary, how about the fact that we're in a room alone, no parents around. Everyone's sleeping. And I'm not sure that I'm ready." He whispered the last part.
"Well just to let you know, I'm…...I'm...Well I'm ready for that too." Clary said, looking away from his eyes. Jace placed a hand under her chin and pulled her face up to his. He smirked and gently placed his lips to hers.
"I love you Clary." He whispered against her lips.
"I love you Jace." She whispered back, smiling.
Well finally we have finished another chapter. We had a bit of difficulty trying to write this chapter. Power outages and insane weather, work and band concerts. We've become busy, busy ladies here lately. But we have finally finished! Review, let us know what you think. Always, M. Marvin & N. Nancy
A little side note for M. Marvin's story; Offer Taken, "I am working on an epic ending for the story. So if my followers will bare with me I should have something up by the end of March, if not before." Thanks :) M. Marvin
