After Fang and I 'made up' (read: I melted listening to Fang's emotional speech), we tried our best to go back to what we were before Iggy's stupid party.
We walked to school together and talked on the phone at night again, even though it didn't quite feel the same. I trusted that only time would help us.
"Hey, Max?" Fang asked me, when we met up after school a few weeks after we 'got back together'. He shifted his backpack on his shoulder and straightened his hair.
"Yeah?"
"I was wondering…Max, what do you think of going with me to the Italian restaurant down the street from your place sometime?"
"I'm not your boss, Fang. You don't have to act formal around me," I said, rolling my eyes. Fang was cute when he was nervous.
"So is that a yes or no?" Fang asked shakily, his eyes flitting between me and the ground.
"Of course it's a yes, you idiot."
Fang exhaled deeply, eliciting an internal chuckle from me. Did I really make him that nervous?
However unconfident he was, I loved my stupid boyfriend. We had a date scheduled for sometime in the future. We were together. All was right with the world.
Finally he asks you out!
Question of the Chapter: How do you think the date will go?
