I don't own Sucker Punch or Hunger Game
BTW I'm so sorry for not posting. I've been extremely busy, but I hope you enjoy!
I hear the door open slightly.
"Get up!" Commands a familiar voice. "Today's your big day!"
It was Roth.
"I thought yesterday was big day", I reply.
"Well this one is too, so get ready, cause you'll be meeting some of the other tributes".
"Who says I want to meet them".
He sighs.
"Get ready and I'll meet you in the hall".
I stretch and steadily get out of bed. I notice an outfit by the door. A black onesie with pants. It has no sleeves and a collar at the top. There is the letter 7 on the left breast. I put it on with the pair of black combat boots, and braid my hair to the side, which I don't commonly do.
I go to Morie's room to check on him, since I haven't talk to him since the incident last night at dinner. He is also wearing a onesie, but it has no collar and it has short sleeves.
"Hey Morie!"
I greet while hugging him.
"Hi Sweet Pea", he smiles back.
"You two ready?" Asks Roth.
"Yeah", we both reply at the same time.
"Good, because were late".
Roth leads us back to the elevator and presses to go down. As soon as the elevator gets to the ground floor it stops. Great more walking. Instead of the doors opening to let us out the elevator continues into the ground. I watch as the number at the top go all the way down to -5 and stop again. The door open to a room completely surrounded in concrete. The room is quite cold and dead silent. Morie and I step out of the elevator and notice all the other tributes lined up. The instructor faces us.
"Its so lovely you can join us", she says sarcastically.
The rest of the tributes giggle. Morie and I stand between the tributes of six and eight.
"So as I was saying, listen to the survivor skills. I know most of you would prefer lesson on weapons but most of you will die from infection and illness. And most importantly,
no fighting. You wouldn't want to die a few days early now would you?"
The instructor shows us how to properly clean and bandage wounds then lets us train on our own.
Morie heads straight to fire making. I go to follow, but I'm stopped by Baby Doll.
"Get out of my way", I hiss.
"Sweet Pea I-"
"Did you not hear me? Move outta my way".
"Please just listen t-"
"I said I don't want to listen to you".
Without a word she steps out of my way and I continue to Morie.
"Well that was harsh", states Morie.
"Well if you knew what she did to me, you'd do the same", I respond, hoping he'll understand.
"What did she do?" He asks.
"I really don't want to talk about it", I reply.
"Oh, I didn't-"
"It's fine. Anyway need help?"
"Yeah, I can't quite get this to ignite", he admits.
"You should use magnesium" I suggest. "Here, let me".
I grab some magnesium and place it into the nest that Morie made. I grab a knife of one of the weapon racks and go back to the fire station. I scape Mories flint with the knife and the sparks ignite the nest.
"Ta-da!"
"Thanks Sweet Pea", he smiles.
I smile meekly, but I still feel bad about shutting him out before. After all, he did tell me about his father.
"She almost killed me and my sister", I state.
"Who?"
"Baby doll", I answer.
He looks at me with bewilder.
"The girl from twelve", I explain.
"Oh, well now I understand you. To some degree".
I turn and see Florian smiling at me. He grabs a spear and throws it. Before I can react it is already piercing through three dummies. Susan comes up behind him.
"Oh yeah? Watch this!" She commands while pulling out a digger.
She spins her body to slash the dummy, then stabs it in the neck. Another boy, from district four, picks up a mace and swings it at a dummy. The slash is so powerful the head comes off.
"Now that's impressive", Compliments Florian.
I want to join them, but I don't, in case they get unimpressed.
For the rest of the day I stick to small skills like blending in and making traps and snares. I also focus on the other tributes bests skills, which were performed. Baby Doll also didn't practise combat, meaning she has no skill or she's hiding it. At the end of the training, we all go back to our quarters. I have a shower and change into new clothes for dinner.
"So? How was your day?" Asks Aura.
"It was fine", I reply.
"Fine? It should have been excellent".
"What's so excellent about meeting the people you have to kill?"
Everyone stops talking an the room is filled with and awkward silence.
"So Sweetpea", begins Engell. "What are you doing for you interview?"
I turn to Aura and she smiles meekly at me, then I turn back to Engell.
"I don't know", I answer.
"I thought we just answer questions". Engell laughs at my reply.
"You do, but what theme are you going for?"
"Theme?"
"Yes, like sweet, tough, sexy?"
"Um, I-"
"Sorry I'm late", says Roth while entering the room.
He takes a seat and grabs a plate with lobster.
"So what did you learn?" He inquires.
Morie and I stare at him with a puzzled expression.
"About the other tributes", he explains.
"Well I noticed some of the other tributes that will most likely join the careers", I mention.
"Did you notice their talents?" He asks.
"Not everyone's but I did notice a lot of people showing off", I reply.
"And did you?"
"No, I thought it would be a bad Idea".
"Good, save that for day three. When they grow bored of each other, impress them and you may have a shot of joining them", Advised Roth.
"You too Morie. If there's any skills you pick up, make sure they notice. And for the judges-"
"Judges?" I ask.
"On day three you will be individually assessed and they will grade you".
"Any advise?"
"Make sure they remember you".
"I'll try".
Sorry again for not posting for a while. I'll try to post sooner.
