Chapter 12

Madam Pomfrey made Harry and Hermione stay in the Hospital Wing for three days, before finally letting them out, Lily stayed with them that three days, to make sure Harry and Hermione didn't show any side effect from the time traveling. And she was happy to tell them they had not, they had timed it just right and showed back up right on time.

Ron would come visit them in the Hospital Wing, when he could, he sat all Sunday with them, and once classes had ended for the days on Monday and Tuesday, he was walking through the doors. Sat the rest the day with them. Shockingly Madam Pomfrey had not protested.

He explained to Harry and Hermione, had gone to the tree to see if they were still there cause he and Neville had gone up to see Hagrid and Hagrid had gotten a letter saying that Buckbeak would be killed at sunset that day, the Minister changed his mind, and the Ministry claimed they didn't have the time or resources for another trail so they were going to go ahead and put Beacjbeak down. Ron had come to tell them, he thought the three of them could have cheered Hagrid up, but when he saw Hermione's book just thrown aside, he got a bad feeling and went in search of the first one who could help, which happening to be McGonagall. And everyone knows what happened next.

"He lied to your dad, Harry" Hermione said. "Minister Fudge, remember Mr. Potter had said Fudge decided to go ahead and put Buckbeak down cause he was already here to investigate us missing."

"Fudge isn't known for telling the truth." Lily said. She was keeping herself busy by sterilizing the Hospital Wing, she said it seemed a bit dusty to her, she was now remaking all the beds after stripping them and cleaning the covers and sheets. Something Madam Pomfrey didn't seem to appreciate.

Lily even threw out all of Madam Pomfrey's potions, saying they was outdated and wouldn't be as affective as new potions, and somehow, Harry had no idea, but somehow she got Snape who was even more cracky since Sirius had gotten away, to make all fresh so she could restock up, Madam Pomfrey didn't like that either, but with Lily's job at St. Mungo she could and Pomfrey couldn't say anything. Lily was head of St. Mungo's, youngest and first Muggle-born with the job, not only did she control the Magical hospital, it was also her job to go around and make sure other Magically places of the type, were doing their job to make their place safe for sick or hurt Witches and Wizards, and new all the rules by heart.

Ron also explained that night he had gotten an owl from Harry mum, asking him to meet her at the front doors with Harry's cloak, which is how he give it to her, and new t give it to her. He was confused, but Lily had promised Harry and Hermione would explained why, when they could which they did.

James hadn't been to see Harry since that night, Sirius got away, Fudge had put him on probation, and was working over time supposedly to find Sirius and catching other criminals. One more mess up and he would lose his job.

To Harry the best thing that happened was Ron and Hermione finally made up, in fact, he had planned to make up with her when he found her book by the tree, seeing Hagrid crying about Buckbeak made him wonder if Hermione wasn't feeling the same way about him fighting with her.

Ron didn't seem to take who Scabbers really was very hard, though part of that could have something to do with Lily breaking it to him nicely, and motherly with her arms around his shoulders the way she always did when having to to Harry bad news, it reminded him of the time when he was five, and his mother had to tell him their cat had been run over by a muggle spending in a car, took Harry a while to understand no amount of magic could bring him back, Harry loved that cat at five years old, Lily was still afraid for Harry to be out of her sight for too long, so, besides Neville, whom he would have Saturday play dates with, that cat had been his only friend.

Harry knew if all the Death Eaters had been locked up his mother wouldn't have been so protective, by the time he was eight she started letting him go outside and play by himself, but he was not allowed to leave the front or back yard, and Lily was constantly watching him, by the time he was ten, and there had been no Death Eater had tried to get revenge James finally talked Lily into lightning up, he had told her for years that there was no threat, the Death Eaters who avoided going to Azkaban were to chicken to try anything without Voldemort around. After that Lily had pretty much let Harry do what he wanted, within reason of course, he did have rules.

The wand Pettigrew had ended up being Neville's missing wand, he was so excited about it being found he was almost bouncing on his feet when he visited Harry and Hermione the day it was given back to him, Sirius gave it to James a couple of days later when he snuck back to visit him at their house. He recognized it as Frank Longbottom's wand, and figured Neville had used it. James had owled it to McGonagall to give back to Neville.

Harry also found out it was Sirius, not his parents who had given him the Fireblot for Christmas. He had James get the money from his account with the extra key James had to his vault, and order it in his name, but it was all Sirius' idea and his Geollens that bought it.

While still in the hospital wing it seemed to Harry like the days were just crawling by, that he'd never get out of there, but when he finally did, the rest of the school year flew by, no homework or class work, the professors just let them play magic games and talk the last few days, well, all but Snape, but he was in such a bad mood over Sirius getting away, that there was no potions for anyone the last couple weeks of school.

Finally summer had arrived and they were all heading home, the three friends were sitting together on the Hogwarts Express chatting about what they'll do that summer when Hermione suddenly jumped up and looked out the window.

"I see something in the sky." Hermione said. "It's coming this way. It looks like...it's a tiny owl."

She was right a tiny little owl came flying up to the window and wanting in.

"Well, open the window he wants in." Harry said. "Probably someone's pet."

"Looks like he's got a letter tied to his waist." Ron said.

Hermione slid open the window and the tiny owl flew around the compartment excitedly, flapping his wings real fast. Harry frowned.

"He sure is happy with himself." Hermione commented. Just as the owl flew down on Harry's knee and held out his paw.

"For me?" Harry asked, he took the note and opened it, then a smile lit his face. "It's from Sirius."

"Really, how is he?" Hermione asked sitting down.

"He's fine, hiding out somewhere tropical, to get the Dementors off his tail, will come to our house later this summer, after everything dies down, and they finally stop watching our house." Harry folded up the note. "He always says I can write if I need anything, to thank you for helping save him, and Ron you can have the little owl if you want, since it's his fault you no longer have a pet rat."

"How is that his fault?" Ron asked, Harry shrugged. "It's not like I would have wanted to keep him." He looked at the tiny owl "It is just an owl right?"

"Of course it's just an owl." Hermione frowned at him. Then smiled over at the little owl. "It's kind of cute, so little."

"Maybe we should let Crockshanks check." Ron said. Harry and Hermione both rolled their eyes, but the thought of having his own owl, even if it was a tiny one, was too much for Ron, and he jumped up and snatched the little owl off Harry's knee.

"My own owl." Ron smiled. "Wicked, wonder if he'll get bigger?"

"No, he seems full size." Hermione said, then looked at Harry. "Why doesn't Sirius stay with professor Lupin? "

"They're watching his Flat too." Harry said. "Besides, his grumpy old landwitch doesn't allow pets. And that's the only place he can afford, Dad said he was talking about moving now that he had a good job, but...well you know."

Ron scowled. "Snape should be fired for telling Lupin's secret, he didn't hurt anyone, they kept him away from the school for his transformations."

After Sirius got away, Sanpe had told the Slytherisn about Lupin being a Werewolf, they told everyone they could, and after that, Lupin quite, not wantin to cause Dumbledore any trouble when owls from concerned parents started rolling in.

"He gave me back the Marauder's Map." Harry smiled. "Did I tell you all?" They shook their heads. "It was when I went down to see him when he was packing to leave, he went back to the Shack to get it that next morning, poor guy looked real ill, anyway, said it would break my dad's heart if I didn't use it to cause some trouble, oh and I had to promise not the tell Mum."

"Brilliant." Ron grinned.

"I talked to Dumbledore too." Harry said. "Told him about what Trelawney said."

"Oh, Harry, you're not still worried about that, are you?" Hermione said. "Put what that fraud said out of your mind."

"But, Dumbledore said, it was the second real prophecy she ever made." Harry said.

"Hermione is right, Harry." Ron said. "Put it out of your head, besides we have the Quidditch would cup this summer, we got that to look forward too."

Harry grinned. "Yeah, and maybe a normal year next year."

"Of course we will." Hermione said, "Can't think of any reason we won't."

"We can actually get in trouble like Fred and George, acting like normal kids." Ron said.

"We don't need to get in trouble, Ron." Hermione said. "We should use a normal year to get our work done and study."

"I don't care what we do." Harry said. "If it's normal I'll be happy." He raised the pumpkin juice he had been drinking, (got from the trolley lady) "He's to a good summer, and finally getting a normal year next year."

"Normal year." Hermione and Ron raised their glasses.

"Nothing can happen." Hermione grinned.

Yeah right, if they only knew what was to come.
