Summary: As Laura's time at Torchwood continues, she is getting more and more used to the life Morgan is accustomed to living; even more so, with the arrival of a strange, unexpected visitor... Chapter 6 Part 2 of the Torchwood: Alive and Better Than Ever series.

The Wonderful World of Torchwood - Chapter 6 Part 2

The second Owen stopped the car I was out and running towards the tourist office.

"Laura!" Owen yelled after me, "You forgot your bag!" I ignored him, sprinting down the steps and along the bay. I burst through the door.

"Morning, Ianto!" I called as I dashed through the hidden door that had conveniently been opened for me.

"Morning, Laura," Ianto said from his spot behind the desk.

I dashed through the maze of corridors, glad that I had (Finally!) memorised the route to the main hub. I ran through the cog door.

"Morgan!" I yelled, "MORGAN!"

"What?" she said grumpily, emerging from her bedroom, "Its half nine on a Saturday morning! Why would you wake me up? Why would you do that to me?"

"Mum said yes!" I called up, grinning like a mad person, "We're staying! We're going to look at an apartment, and we're getting all of our stuff moved down from England. We're staying!"

"Woohoo!" she yelled running down the stairs. We did a pretty cool happy dance, before Morgan ran through to Jack's office to tell him the news.

"Nuh uh, don't tell me, I've already heard it once," Jack said, coming out of his office, "Thanks for the wakeup call, Laura." He said, looking down at me.

"You're welcome," I said innocently, "Now, Morgan, we need to celebrate."

"Celebrate how?" she asked suspiciously. Oh, she knows me so well...

"Shopping!" I yelled, jumping up and down excitedly.

"No. No way. I am not going shopping with you. You take forever just to choose one little thing!" she said.

"That's the idea of shopping!" I said.

"No. I'm not coming. You are not getting me in any shops."

Morgan ended up coming around half of Cardiff with me. It was actually a pretty good shopping trip. Especially as Owen paid. Well, Jack paid, out of Owen's paycheck. I'm sure Jack will tell him at some point...

As we were walking back across the plaza, Morgan suddenly stopped. I looked around; everything seemed normal...

"What?" I asked her, stopping too. She just nodded in the direction of the water tower.

There, standing in front of the water tower, was a big blue police box. I couldn't believe I hadn't seen it before! Damn perception filter, I thought to myself.

"What is it?" I ask Morgan.

"It's him," she said.

"Really? You call that an explanation?" I said, dumping my shopping bags on the floor.

"The Doctor," Morgan said, "It's the Doctor."

"The bonkers guy you call your non-related uncle who runs around in a space/time machine wearing a bowtie?" I clarified.

"That's the one," Morgan said, still not moving.

"Well, come on then, I want to meet this guy!" I said, picking up my bags and dragging Morgan along, "If he's as mad as you said he is, then I think I'll get on with him rather well!"

Morgan laughed, and we walked up to the police box. I escaped me as to how someone can travel through space and time in a big blue crate; but, hey, the universe is full of surprises.

Morgan knocked on the door, and a girl, a few years older than us, opened it.

"Izzy?" Morgan said to her.

"Who are you? How do you know my name?" the girl replied.

"Izzy who...Morgan." a red haired Scottish woman said.

"Amy, it's nice to see you again." Morgan replied.

"Rory, come here!" Amy called back into the TARDIS.

'Rory' came over to Amy's side.

"Hey Morgan, long time no see." Rory said.

"Yeah I know, how's TARDIS life been treating you all?" Morgan asked.

"Well you know what it's like especially with him. But we're never on here for long because of work and school." Rory replied.

"Ok, I'm going to ask again, who are you?" Izzy asked.

"Really Izzy, you don't remember me, surely you remember going to the bank holiday fair on Raxacoricofallapatorius with me. Remember, we won those weird things that we never found out the name of." Morgan told her.

Izzy thought for a moment.

"Oh my God, Morgan." the girl said.

"Hope you're better at remembering what you learn at school." Morgan laughed.

"Oh shut up, that was like five years ago." Izzy whined.

"Same old Izzy." Morgan said shaking her head.

I nudged Morgan's side, and she turned to see me, waiting expectantly. She smiled apologetically.

"Sorry. Laura, this is Izzy and her parents Amy and Rory, guys this is my friend Laura." Morgan said.

"Hi." I said.

We all talked for a while. Then someone else appeared.

"Thought I heard the voice of a Harkness-Jones." The person said.

"Doctor!" Morgan said giving the man a hug.

"Hey, I was right." he said.

Morgan rolled her eyes at him.

"Just like your Tad."

"Actually that's Seth, I can just imitate it extremely well."

"So who's this?"

"Oh, Doctor this is Laura, Laura this is the Doctor." Morgan replied.

"Hello Laura." Doctor said shaking my hand vigorously. "Sorry I can't let you in it's just...I had River round last night and I need to...tidy up."

"Ooooooo." Morgan laughed.

"Shut up you." Doctor said, while blushing. "So why don't we go to the hub."

"Yeah, I really need to put these bags down." I said; they were getting really heavy...

"Well you should have given them to dad." Morgan told me.

"But I didn't want to." I retort.

"Stop moaning then."

"Make me."

"Oh don't make me make you."

"Bite me bitch."

"Don't tempt me bitch."

"I can't believe you actually bit me!" I said as we walked through the tourist office, where the desk was unusually empty.

"Hey you told me too." Morgan replied.

"Oh I'm sorry did I forget the sarcasm sign?" I asked her.

"Yes, yes you did." Morgan laughed. I gave her the evils.

"Dad, Tad! We picked up four strays!" Morgan yelled when we reached the main hub.

"Really Morgan? Why...Amy, Rory, Izzy, Doctor!" Jack greeted.

He gave her a look that said 'you little bugger'. Morgan just grinned at him. Ianto was just behind jack, greeting the TARDIS crew after him. I put my bags down and sighed with relief. Morgan shook her head at me. Morgan started to run up the stairs.

"Before you ask I'm getting Olly, Seth and Grace." She called down to us. I shook my head at her. As Owen, Tosh and Gwen walked in, I could hear three knocks, and three doors opening, then a conversation, presumably between Morgan and her siblings. Then they all came rushing down the stairs.

We talked with the TARDIS crew for hours. I like the Doctor, and he was definitely as bonkers as Morgan said he was. By the time they left, the Doctor was wearing a fez with a Stetson on top, and, when asked why, he said it reminded him of the doo times, and the day he died. I was about to ask what he meant by 'the day he died' but a look from Morgan reminded me that 1. Being immortal is possible, and 2. It's best not to ask.

The TARDIS crew couldn't stay longer than a day, so they left after a while.

"We'll drop in again soon." The Doctor promised.

"You better be, 'because I don't think Grace will appreciate it if you miss her third birthday." Ianto replied.

"Oh right, how could I forget?" The Doctor smiled.

It was nice to finally meet them; Amy had telling me about their two other kids, Olly and Jenny, who were at a sleepover, and Rory had told me about how he had found it hard adjusting to TARDIS life. The Doctor had told loads of stories about his time on the TARDIS (which seemed to be almost forever...) whilst he reminisced with Jack about 'the old days'...

I made a mental note to tell mum about this later; she told me Torchwood wasn't worth stying for.

I beg to differ!
