Chapter Twelve: Retrieving Fi

As we walked in, I sent a skyward blast at the crest. Her Grace, Hylia, then came down and greeted us.

"Why have you come?" She asked, genuinely curious. I quickly explained why we came back.

"Fi is the spirit of the Master Sword. She helped Alpha with his quest. I didn't foresee that she would be needed again. Where is the Master Sword?" She asked. I explained that we had to leave it behind. As I continued, her eyes showed alarm.

"You must retrieve it. The curse could easily create a barrier that needs the Master Sword to destroy it. The grove on the other side is well protected, but not so on this side." Once she said this, she began to recite a string of nearly incomprehensible and tongue twisting syllables. Spirit Link started to glow.

"Should you manage to retrieve the Master Sword, that spell will activate and release Fi from her sleep." She said, disappearing before our eyes. We ran out and hopped onto the train. I told Trax to get me to the Master Sword as quickly as possible. In response, he slammed the train into gear and turned it around. The train almost turned over!

"Link, get out here please." Trax yelled. I came out and Trax suddenly told me how to operate the canon. Knowing what this meant, I climbed into the seat and started to blast away at the hordes that had come while we had spoken to Her Grace. Some of the monsters managed to get close, but a quick spell fixed that. When we got within fifty feet of the Master Sword, the spell laid onto Spirit Link activated. It shot out and hit the Master Sword and it started to glow with a golden energy around it, so I suggested that we should abandon the train.

"I agree." Trax said, turning the train so we could leap towards the Master Sword. I was the first one off and I rolled when I hit the ground. It didn't feel so pleasant, but the energy exploded right before Trax jumped. When the shock wave hit him, it stopped all his forward momentum.

The train, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. It went flying. I was half afraid that it would come apart but it actually stayed together and helped to kill some of the remaining monsters. What the train didn't kill, the shock wave did. Trax simply looked back at his train and stared.

"It just got polished." He mumbled. I picked him up and we ran towards the Master Sword. As we reached it, a dark barrier fell around us.

"See ya. Hope you have a good life in the meantime." Trax said as he turned and walked away. I pulled the Master Sword and quickly fired an energy blast at the barrier before the wave of my spell washed over me. Once we were back, Fi flipped out of the Master Sword.

"Hello Master Link." She said.
