Todd: Whew! That was one long chapter. I might probably never make one this long again in the nearest future. Anyways, enjoy.
Disclaimer : I do not own Pokemon, but if I did, Ash wouldn't be so short.
Beta'd, sadly for the last time, by Rikato Tojidofukuto.
From what I can remember, my people were sought after since I was born because of the dark history which surrounded us like a thick fog.
My Village was just around the outskirts of the Unova region and was off the map. It was a normal day for me, 13 year old Elizabeth Vhirninda. I loved the name, Vhirninda. It meant 'the sparks that produce life'. My mother saw it fit to name me that because, when I was born, she said that I had sparks in my eyes whenever I laughed.
I was playing in the forest with my partner Blitzle. I climbed a tree to the very top and looked over to stare at the horizon. Sometimes I believed that I could just stretch my arms out and touch that border line where the sky met the land.
"Just think, Blitzle," I said, feeling the evening breeze brush against my cheeks."Tomorrow I'll be starting my journey. I can't wait! I'll dazzle the world with my amazing skills as a trainer." I patted Blitzle's head, smiling as Blitzle nuzzled lovingly against my chest."You and I are going to be the ultimate team"
At that moment, I felt happy. My parents had often warned me of our past, the dark secrets that cursed our village and the dangers to our very existence, but we've had peace in our village for as long as my parents could remember. So it seemed that we were safe. I took in the fresh air as I thought about the awesome future I expected to see.
...
That was when it all fell apart.
...
Smoke filled my lungs and I choked. Searching for the source, I was shocked to see that it was coming from my village. I returned Blitzle to its pokeball and hurriedly climbed down the tree and ran towards home. My heart was beating faster than I was running.
"Please, please, let everything be alright," I silently prayed, the smoke making my eyes water. But it was undoubtedly clear from what I saw when I arrived that everything was far from OK.
Fire.
I saw several strangers wearing white uniforms, a large P emblem on their chests, setting fire to all the houses in the village.
Blood.
My people tried to fight back with spears and Pokemon, but they were slaughtered like Mareeps by guns and highly trained Pokemon. A villager and his Braveary tried to protect a little girl who was in the way of a Dragonite, but, try as they might, they couldn't match up to the dragon. The man tried to stab it, but the tip of his spear snapped like a wish bone against the Dragonite's scaly hide. Roaring, the dragon charged a Dragon Claw and tried to cleave the man in half. With a will to protect his master, though, the Braveary flew in front of its master and took the full brunt of the attack. The man screamed in despair for his deceased partner. The Dragonite shook the dead bird from its claws and licked the red liquid that remained before looking down at the trembling man hungrily.
Terror.
"Run, you idiot!" I yelled at him, but he was paralyzed with fear. The Dragonite picked the man up by the collar and brought him above its open jaws . The man looked in my direction. His eyes were filled with tears and outright terror.
"HELP ME! I DON'T WANT TO DIE! HELP!" he cried as he dropped into the open jaws that closed around him, splashing blood on the lips of the dragon.
I watched as the Dragonite chewed slowly, savouring every bite like it was a rare truffle instead of a human being. It swallowed and turned towards me with the hungry eyes of a killer.
I couldn't move from my spot. It felt like someone had dropped a ton of lead in my shoes yet my knees were shaking as the Dragon lumbered up to me. It was about to pick me up like it did the man, but a quick female voice cut through the air.
"Emboar, use Arm thrust!"
Suddenly, a large fire boar pokemon bashed its elbow into the Dragonite's fore head, breaking its skull in the process and thus killing the beast.
The owner of the Emboar, a tall woman with blonde hair and blue eyes, walked up to me and placed her hands on my shoulders.
"Are you okay?" she asked me worriedly.
I nodded an affirmative. "Mom, what is happening? Who are these people?" I asked.
"They are a group called Team Plasma. They're after what we have and when we wouldn't give it to them, this happened," she said sadly as the screams of many cut through the air. The foul stench of of blood, smoke and burning flesh filled my lungs.
"Mom, you can chase them away, can't you? You're super strong," I pleaded, tears welling up in my eyes.
"I'm sorry, but I can't do anything. They're way too strong," my mom said, shaking her head.
"How could you say that!" I screamed, the tears finally streaking down my cheeks. "Everyone is dying around us, trying to fight them off, and you're giving up?! How could you?!"
"It's not like I want to give up!"
"Then why?" I demanded. "Why won't you do anything?"
"I think I can answer that question," came a cool reply.
We turned in the direction of a lean, tall man with green locks and smiling like a Chansey. He was followed by a group of the strangers and their Pokemon.
"Damn you, Ghetsis," my mom growled through gritted teeth. Emboar snarled. "Haven't you caused enough chaos?"
"Not until I get what I came for," Ghetsis replied, twirling strand of green hair between his fingers.
"We told you. We don't have it!"
"Ah, but you do," Ghetsis pointed out as his red eyes focused on me.
Mom stiffened.
"Mom, what is he talking about?" I asked, feeling the dangerous aura practically visible around him.
"It's quite simple really. You have what I want," Ghetsis smiled.
"I don't have anything that you would go through all this carnage to find," I said, wondering why mom didn't order Emboar to Fire Punch this guy all the way to the Kanto region.
Ghetsis laughed like he just heard the best joke in the world. " You mean you haven't told her yet?" he said to my mom.
"Shut up, you bastard!" my mom barked.
"Mom. What does he want?" I asked again, but that was when I noticed that she was shivering like a lost Igglybuff and staring at the floor like it held some kind of secret.
I turned back to Ghetsis, who was still staring at us with mild amusement. With the bravest voice I could muster, hoping it didn't sound too much like a squeak, I said defiantly. "What do you want from me?"
"So you've finally asked the million dollar question!" Ghetsis said. "It's just a teensy weensy little thing that I need and then I'll be on my way." His face was two inches way from mine. His red orbs bored into me as he grinned, revealing rows of sharpened teeth.
"I want you," he said evilly. "To be more specific, I want your heart. Literally."
"Eh?!"
"Zebstrika! Volt tackle!" Elesa ordered and her Pokemon immediately encased itself in a coat of electricity. The pokemon threw its weight on Lionel, sending him flying into the air. "Now, Charge beam!" A beam of electricity shot towards her super powered opponent.
"I don't think so-de gozaru!" Lionel sneered as he raised a hand and summoned a large electro ball which he used to intercept the charge beam, causing a small mid air explosion. The blonde boy dove through the smoke with one electrically charged fist raised. "Have a taste of this-de gozaru!" he said as the thunder punch collided with the Zebstrika's skull, sending the Pokemon into a candy shop. The crash woke up the unfortunate shop attendant who was gonna have a hard time explaining why there was such a huge gaping hole in the wall and Zebstrika fur in the jar of gummy Sewaddles.
The Zebra pokemon got up and shook the sweets off of its back then ran back to the battle.
"I'm glad to see you're alright," Elesa sighed in relief as her Pokemon returned, "But I guess it looks like we'll have to get a little reckless if we want to defeat this guy."
The Zebra cocked an eye brow at the gym leader as if to say, "I was ready for this a long time ago."
Elesa laughed a little and mounted her Pokemon. "Lets do this." Zebstrika nodded in agreement and, using Agility, they disappeared.
"Damn it! Where did those two go- de gozaru?" Lionel growled. Suddenly he received a blow to the back of his head, sending him face first in to the concrete. "You hag! Come out and fight like a blonde!" he yelled and received another blow to his face then his stomach. He was met with an electrically charged hoof to his jaw, sending Lionel flying into the side of a tower.
"Fuck," Lionel cursed as blood erupted from his lips. Opening his eyes, he quickly rolled out of the of another Volt kick. Looking up he saw the Zebstrika emanating golden energy with a golden haired Elesa riding on it glaring down at Lionel with electric-blue eyes. Lionel's lips curved upwards in a smile.
"So you're drawing energy from the thunder plate- de gozaru."
Elesa kept silent then winced a little.
"But it looks like you're not used to its overwhelming power," Lionel continued, wiping the blond from his chin with his sleeve. "Let's see how long you can last till your body fails- de gozaru," he said, coating his entire body with electricity.
"Pansear, use lava plume!" Twilly ordered. Simultaneously the fire chimp created a large ball of Pyro energy and slammed it into the ground, causing it to spread and form several pillars of searing hot flames.
The Ninetails protected itself and the Elekid with a Psychic barrier. When the flames died down, the Elekid jumped towards Pansear with a Thunder Punch but saw Rika's Blaziken coming at it with a Blaze Kick. It quickly changed tactics and intercepted it with a Mega Kick before grabbing the bigger Pokemon's leg and hurling it into Pansear. The two fire Pokemon slowly got back up and glared at their smirking opponent before charging again.
Elekid jumped over the Pansear, who attempted a Shadow Claw attack. It was punched backwards by Blaziken's Close Combat and headbutted by Lilly's Take Down.
Yeah! How'd you like that fucker! the Lillipup taunted.
Elekid got up and wiped its jaw. You're gonna regret that bitch! it growled.
Let's see if you can make me, Lilly jeered then dodged the incoming thunderbolt.
Can you try and not piss off the super deadly opponents? Pansear sighed as it caught Lilly from crash landing.
Sorry, man, it comes with the package. Now put me down so I can wipe that smug look from that bastard's face.
If you two are done flirting, could you focus on the battle at paw? Blaziken said in a deep tone as he blocked another mega kick from the enemy electric pokemon.
"Beartic! Use surf!" Rika ordered.
"Dewott! Aqua jet!" Twilly said.
Beartic summoned a blue orb of water then smashed it on the ground, creating a tidal wave. Dewott encased itself in water and shot itself through the surf at the Ninetails. The fire pokemon knocked him away with a psy-wave and shot a fire blast at the wave, causing a dense cloud of steam.
Suddenly, Beartic burst through the steam with an Ice punch, which it delivered successfully to the snout of the split tailed fox and pushed it into Dewott's razor shell.
Quickly recovering from the shock of the two attack, the foe summoned ghostly forms of purple flames then shot them at Beartic and Dewott, engulfing them in the inferno.
The force of the will-o-wisp alone should have been enough to fell any other Pokemon, but thanks to Dewott and Beartic's type advantage, they held their ground. Even though there were signs of burns on their bodies. Roaring in defiance, the two pokemon charged once more into battle.
Gallant ducked below Ren's pyro boosted punch then grabbed the outstretched arm before executing a perfect judo throw into a nearby car. He shot several Ice-based bullets at him, encasing Ren and the car in a thick casket of ice upon impact. No sooner had he done that, the ice slowly began to melt.
"Damn it!" Gallant cursed. He had quickly come to realize that his opponent could somehow control fire and even produce flames from his body, which could probably ccontribute to his high body temperature. His singed cheek could attest to that fact.
"Fuck! That's cold!" Ren's teeth chattered as the ice around his head melted, breaking out of his icy casket with a flex of his muscles. "Have a taste of this!" Ren said then blasted several fire balls at Gallant.
"No thanks! Elesa already treated me to lunch," Gallant replied as he turned the balls of flame into chunks of ice.
As quick as a flash, Ren charged at Gallant with a fist raised, but the punch was parried by a Gallant's own punch as he silently thanked Reshiram that his gloves were heat insulators. Grabbing Ren's arm once more, Gallant threw him right into the range of Growlithe's Quick attack, which knocked him right into the clothes shop that the duo had earlier patronized.
"Ugh, that hurt!" Ren mumbled, rubbing his head. He opened his eyes to see that he had landed in the female changing room.
"EeeeeeeK! Pervert!" the half dressed girl in front of him screamed.
"Huh?" Ren said, confused, and was slapped by the girl before she ran out shrieking.
"I'm a pervert?" Ren said, still confused as he stepped out of the room and was replied by the solid punch Gallant landed on his face followed by a well executed mega kick by Growlithe, rounding it off with a barrage of bullets and a flame throwers.
Both pokemon and master stepped back from the now demolished building with a set mind that their opponent was either immobilized or dead but was proved wrong as a pillar of flames erupted from the debris and the red head slowly climbed out.
"You know, you humans are starting to get on my nerves," he growled before ripping a lamp post from the ground and throwing it at Gallant, who narrowly dodged getting impaled by the improvised spear.
Growlithe instantly charged at him with a quick attack, but Ren batted the pokemon away like rag doll into a bill board that had Elesa advertising the latest Poke gear.
"Damn you! can't you just stay dead?" Gallant growled raising his gun, but it was quickly kicked away by Ren, who had suddenly appeared in front of him. Ren punched him several times, causing him to cough blood, and slammed a pyro boosted fist into him, sending Gallant flying.
"Ack!" Gallant spat out blood on the pavement then looked up at Ren, who was slowly approaching.
"What the fuck are you waiting for?" Gallant murmured. "There has to be a reason else you wouldn't be toying with me for so long. Judging by your abilities you could have killed me with your first punch."
"So you've figured it out," Ren smiled. "I guess there's no use hiding it now," he said then grinned eerily showing off his fangs. "We're here to get the thunder plate so that we can reawaken Kyurem and destroy this entire world!"

Kato: Hey, guys! This will probably be the last chapter that you'll see me in. I know...you'll miss me. Anyway, *bows* sorry this came out so late! Todd and I have been pretty busy lately, but he'll make it up in the next chapter. Twilly and Gallant will go leprechaun hunting!
