And this is the last chapter. I hope you enjoyed this story.

I'd like to invite you guys to read my next story BEHIND THE GUNS. It's a JILLEON story. I know this pairing is not that common. I had a request for this story, but I only decided to write it after the poll result and after studying this pairing deep, because I needed to feel into it. And yes, I must admit they really would look great together. Although they could face some issues at first. LOL

So I really hope you guys give it a try. :)

At the end

Claire was sitting in the armchair watching the children play memory game. Winter usually let the children bored and all they could do was play games like that or video games.

Claire was tired, she spent all day preparing desserts for Thanksgiving Day, which would be the next day.

Although tired, Claire was pleased. After a very sad and weepy week, Claire finally felt better. Twelve days had passed since she made Ada and Leon meet and only now Claire was starting to feel that life was returning to normal.

The children were not only the joy of life for Claire, but also her medicine. Thanks to them she managed to overcome the tricky moment she passed through.

Anne was one of the main responsible for Claire's improvement. The girl not only was treating Claire with more affection as she also seemed to be more open about her feelings, allowing Claire to know her a little more. A friendship was being born there day after day.

The cell next to Claire rang and she reached out to grab the device, soon realizing it was Chris.

"Bro, where are you?"

"We are getting abord the plane now. We had problems with our flight." Chris answered on the other side of the line.

"But you will arrive in time for Thanksgiving, right?"

"Yes, Claire. Jill and I will leave from Los Angeles now and arrive there on time."

"Okay, take care bro."

"Bye, sis."

When Claire hung up the phone she saw some kids getting up off the ground and running towards the kitchen door, smiling. Before she could turn around to see what the kids were doing, she heard Dylan shouting:

"Leon!"

At that moment Claire's heart stopped and she felt as the air was not enough. What Leon was doing in that place on the evening before Thanksgiving? Surely he had now where to spend the holiday. Claire only wished in the heart that he had not brought Ada along with him, it would be too torturous to have to see the two together.

As she knew she could not avoid the encounter, Claire sighed and gathered strength to get up and look in Leon's eyes. She felt like she was about to face a war.

When Claire got up and looked back at him, she saw many children around Leon. The boy smiled hugging them, but when their eyes met he turned serious.

"Hello, Claire" he said.

"Leon?" Mariane walked through the door behind him "Glad you came to spend Thanksgiving with us, the bigger our family is the better."

"Yes." Leon smiled at Mariane " Well, I need to talk to Claire, could you please..."

"Sure, you can go somewhere to talk that I'm taking care of the children." Mariane smiled.

Claire realized she had not answered the hello from Leon and she had no time to say anything. Everything happened in a strange way, too fast. Claire was still stagnant when she saw Mariane making a motion with her hand, telling her to go to her room to talk to the guy.

Claire had no choice, she walked away to her room listening to the Leon's footsteps behind her. When they entered the room, Claire asked him to sit in the chair next to the window and she closed the door behind her.

She was wondering if he was there to ask for love advice and bring her even more torture. But Claire realized that she would not solve her problem if she kept suffering in anticipation.

"How are you, Leon, is everything..."

"Why did you do that, Claire?"

At that time Claire got surprised. Leon's tone was not friendly or happy, he seemed annoyed and bothered.

"That?" Claire's eyes widened.

"Ada..."

"How do you know?"

"She told me."

"You asked me for help. This is something that anyone would do for a special friend like you."

"In what moment on the phone I said I needed help with Ada? When did I mention her name?"

"Leon, and since when do you have to say? Everything was always so clear."

Leon frowned staring at the floor.

" I was sure that you would get together, maybe forever as you wanted, I'm sorry if you're upset" Claire said with sad eyes.

"And Ada and I got together, Claire." Leon looked at her now "When I arrived at the restaurant I was surprised to find Ada there. Not quite what I expected or wanted, but I was so confused and lonely that I let it happen. I believed that for the affection and attraction Ada and I always had for each other she deserved a chance, after all, that was a chance to have something good that moment. I thought maybe the sky wanted to tell me something by puting her in my life." Leon put his hand on his chin for a few seconds before continuing "I was wrong. Ada and I was getting to know each other better for one week, it was ok until Ada mention your name, that you had planned our meeting."

"But ... if you were happy, why is it a problem, Leon?" Claire asked even more confused.

"At what point I said I was happy? I said it was ok, normal.I was giving ourselves a chance" Leon's gaze became deeper at that moment "Claire, listen to me. I know you love your ex-boyfriend and I respect that, but I just need to confess something that's eating me up inside. That day I called you and told you everything, I was talking about you. It was you that I missed. It's with you that I always used to talk about politics, movies and music, you who has always been my friend and the most caring person I've ever met in my life. It was you I wanted to be waiting for me when returned from missions. How could I be talking about Ada if I had never lived this with her?"

"But... and Ada?"

"Our reality never existed, Claire. She will always be my friend, sometimes my problem and sometimes my solution in some missions. But she would never be my wife and mother of my children, because Ada was not born for this thing. And as soon as she said your name, some days ago, I realized I could not fool her or fool myself. I needed to tell you the truth and free me of that, even though you do not feel the same for , Claire, are you crying?"

Leon stood up and walked closer to Claire. She wiped a tear running down her face and held Leon's hand.

"Claire, I do not want you to feel bad for me. I'll go my way and respect your relationship with that boy, I just needed to tell you this..."

"Leon" Claire looked him in the eyes "I never loved Vincent. I let you think that way that day for pride, I didn't want you to find out what I felt for you actually..."

Leon pulled Claire by hand, forcing her to stand up and placing her in front of you.

"What did you feel, Claire?"

"I still do, Leon, although I struggled against this feeling. But I love you."

"Ah, Claire." Leon took her in his arms "And I love you."

When their lips met in a sweet, passionate kiss, Claire let his romantic side speak louder a few happy tears ran from his eyes.

Suddenly everything that had happened to her and Leon during the time he had been in that place made sense. All the fights, misunderstandings and provocations happened because of the feeling that was being born between them, and the reluctance of both to accept that feeling.

Surrounded by children, no matter the age, Claire would always be like a child. But Leon needed a feeling like that to allow himself to be a kid sometimes too. And Claire now knew he had found the secret of happiness, to be a child forever.

"Are you ready to face the challenges ahead of us?" He asked a little away from her face " Dating a government agent ... I have a very complicate schedule sometimes."

"I know, I'm used to it. Are you willing to date a mother of many children like me?" Claire smiled.

"I love these kids, the biggest challenge is your temperament, I see many fights coming ..." Leon laughed a few seconds "But it will all be worth remembering tha I have a family to come back to and the sweetest girlfriend of all waiting for me."

"How sweet" Claire could not hold the laughter of happiness.

"But I still have another challenge ... Talk to your brother about this. That worries me."

"Don't be worried, he arrives in a few hours and you can solve it."

"What ?!" Leon widened his eyes in a fun way as Claire was laughing at him.

Surely that would be a couple that nobody expected, but that was going to last because it had started from a strong and sincere friendship.

.

.

.

And so that was Thanksgiving Day Claire, Leon, Mariane, Chris, Jill, Mr. Collins and his family and all the kids in a big happy table.

That was a great family together not together by blood ties, but by the ties of love.

Love was able to change the lives of all those children the same way those children would modify the life of everybody that crossed their path.

And at the end of life it would not matter how many things we had bought or built. What we studied would have no utility and our titles no value. But the love we had received and donated would always be the only eternal legacy we would leave to our beloved ones and what we would be able to take with us wherever we would go.

Only love is worth at the end of a story, at any story and at any end.
