The drama has been up, and will continue to be for this week (in the story). More NaLi and GaLe moments, especially NaLi. So look forward to it. As always, I live for reviews, no joke. Every time I read one, it puts a stupid grin on my face for the entire day, even if it's a hate review. So review, please, make me grin like an idiot. Anyway, here is chapter 12- Tuesday:
…..
"So are you ready for art class, Lis?" We get to start painting today!" Levy squealed with excitement.
"Art is the second to last class of the day, aren't you getting a bit ahead of yourself there?" Lisanna replied. "Besides, did you forget about the five mile run in P.E. today?"
"Way to pop my bubble of happiness there, Lis," Levy responded, the cheerfulness in her voice gone.
"Better me than Lily or Erza," the silver haired mage countered.
"True, but still, my happy bubble. It's gone."
"You'll survive," Lisanna responded, a smile on her face at her friend's reaction.
…..
"I can barely breathe, how much longer?" Levy gasped as she urged to her legs to keep moving.
"Little less than a mile. I hope we don't come in last," Lisanna answered.
"It doesn't look like you will," Rouge said as he came up to the girls, causing them to jump with shock.
"Why do you always do that?! Stop scaring us Rouge!" Levy puffed.
"Sorry, I keep forgetting how easily you two scare."
"I thought you finished already. Like a long time ago," Lisanna asked.
"I did, got bored," the Dragon Slayer shrugged.
"So you joined us for fun?" Levy raised her eyebrow.
"Yes," the black haired teen replied casually.
"You're weird," the girls said in unison.
"So I've heard," the boy stated completely unfazed. "Anyway, Cana came to class pretty drunk. She passed out right after the third mile. Her dad came and got her, taking her to his classroom to recover. And Jet is built for speed not endurance, especially since he can't use his magic. He just go to the third mile now.
"Cana's father is a teacher here?" Lisanna asked, surprised.
"Yes, he is out math teacher," Rouge answered, slightly surprised they didn't know.
"Gildarts?" the girls once more replied as one.
"Yup. Look, you guys are almost done now," the boy said, nodding his head to the finish line less than a hundred feet away.
As the two crossed the line, Lily stood with his clipboard, marking down their time. "23 minutes and 17 seconds. Not bad, but there is much room to improve by the end of the year."
"Here you go, drink up," Erza said as she handed the two water bottles.
The girls thanked her and chugged the ice cold water down, happy to relieve their dry throats. The two went and sat down, waiting like everyone else for Jet to finish. In the meantime they talked with Juvia and Lyon, until he went off to go argue with Gray, at which point, Rouge, Frosch, and Bisca joined them. It was a bit awkward talking to her since she didn't know they knew her secret.
It took another fifteen minutes before Jet got close to finishing, so at the point, Lisanna grabbed her and Levy's empty water bottle and headed toward the recycling bin. As she was fitting the water bottles through the hole in the lid, she saw Natsu, out of the corner of her eye, grab his water bottle and start walking over.
"Hey, Lisanna," the pink haired teen said, coming to a stop beside her.
"H-hey," Lisanna stuttered out, dropping the last water bottle in and moving to the side so Natsu could drop his in. "How come Happy doesn't come to P.E. and Health with you?" Lisanna asked, partly because she was truly curious and partly to avoid an awkward silence and avoid him walking away just yet.
"He's lazy, doesn't like to exercise. So he just sleeps in," Natsu answered with a laugh that made Lisanna's heart do a flip.
"That is lazy," Lisanna agreed. "It's not like he has to do anything anyway. Frosch doesn't unless she wants too." Lisanna said.
"I know! I told him that, but he is happier sleeping in than hanging out with Frosch or me," Natsu replied, his smile causing Lisanna to blush, so she turned away slightly.
Hoping to distract Natsu so he wouldn't notice her blush, she pointed out that Jet was done and Erza was giving the signal to head back inside. Thankfully, he didn't seem to notice, and after saying his goodbye, headed back to his group. Lisanna hadn't even walked three feet back to Levy before Levy pounced on her, demanding every detail of the conversation.
"I'll tell you tonight, when no one is around," Lisanna whispered.
Levy grudgingly agreed, already anxious to hear the story.
….
Just like yesterday, Lucy sat at the Dragon Slayer table next to Natsu who looked rather annoyed with behavior.
Lisanna sat down next to Wendy and opened her milk. "So what is going on with you and Romeo?" she asked, playfully elbowing her freshman friend's ribs.
Wendy's reply was a deep blush and chocking sound as she tried to swallow her food properly. "N-Nothing, nothing at all. We are just friends."
"Sure," Lisanna teased.
"Stop picking on the poor thing, Lis," Levy said as she sat down across from Wendy, next to Juvia.
"Fine, but if you have any questions about boys, just ask," Lisanna winked, before taking another sip of milk.
"Like you have that much experience with guys yourself," Levy said.
"So, are you ready to start painting Erza, in art today?" Lisanna asked as the red heard set her tray down next to her, taking her seat.
"Yup, and I already know what I am going to paint," Erza responded, happily.
"Juvia wants to know what," the water mage said.
"Can't tell, it's a secret," Erza said, taking a bite of her cake.
"I still don't know what I am going to paint," Lisanna admitted with a sigh as she shoveled green beans into her mouth.
"You'll think of something, you're good at painting anyway," Levy said.
"What about you Levy, what are you going to paint?" Wendy asked.
"Something book related," Lisanna whispered so only Wendy could hear.
"A stack of my favorite books," Levy replied with her book smile. The smiles she wears only when she thinks of books or is reading one.
"Told you," Lisanna said, her voice not as quiet this time, causing Wendy to laugh.
"What's so funny?" Levy asked, noticing Lisanna's grin and Wendy's barely contained giggles.
"Nothing bestie," Lisanna replied, still grinning.
"Juvia thinks Natsu is trying to get your attention Lisanna," the other bluenette said, startling Lisanna out of her conversation with Levy.
The silver haired girl looked over toward the table the Dragon Slayer was seated at to see Natsu looking at her. When he saw that she was looking, he grinned, revealing an orange wedge stretching from end to end of the grin, covering his teeth.
Lisanna started laughing, grabbing her own orange wedge and following suit. She stuffed it in her mouth, not caring about her friends watching, and grinned back at the boy. Natsu grinned even wider, the orange almost falling out of his mouth, which caused Lisanna to laugh harder. Until Lucy turned around.
She looked at Natsu, then at Lisanna, shooting her a death glare that could've stopped a dragon cold in his tracks, before turning back toward Natsu. The Take Over Mage removed the orange from her mouth as she watched Lucy talk angrily to Natsu, no doubt about her.
"I think it might take more than this week to get Lucy to stop hating me, especially after that," she said, looking down at her plate, her face wearing a sad expression.
"Well, Lucy will just have to get over it," Erza said, finishing her milk.
"Yeah, that was really cute what he just did," Levy responded.
"Juvia thinks so too."
Lisanna looked up at her friends, smiling. "Thanks guys. I don't know what I would do without you."
….
Art had come at last. Levy was so excited that she practically skipped all the way to class.
"Okay kids," the round teacher in what looked like a witch hat started, "We'll be starting with paint today, so if you want to wear an apron grab one now. Today you can just paint whatever, just so you can get use to using it. Thursday we will start out first project with it. And remember, just grab a little paint at a time to ensure that you don't end up wasting it."
And with that, the students began, paint brushes sliding across their canvases as they chatted amongst themselves.
"This is really fun," Wendy said as she dipped her brush in the yellow.
"It is, very relaxing," Erza said as she concentrated on her brush strokes.
"Juvia things yours is very nice, Lisanna," the girl said as she glanced over at her friends.
"Thanks, to be honest I have no idea what it is though," Lisanna responded with a small laugh.
"Still, it looks nice, Lis," Levy said. "I messed mine up a while ago, so I really have no idea what mine is."
"It looks like an abstract unicorn riding a hippo," Lisanna said, her face serious.
Levy looked at her friend, then at her painting, turning it every which way and squinting. "I have no idea where you see that at."
"Right here," Lisanna said, pointing to a random blotch of white paint.
"I still don't see it," Levy said as she brought the canvas closer to her face.
"Keep looking," Lisanna said, grinning. By then the rest of the girls were grinning and holding back their laughter as well.
"You're so gullible, it's adorable," Erza said.
"What?" Levy asked, putting her canvas down and looking at everyone's laughing faces.
"You were joking?" Levy demanded.
"Yup."
"You're so mean!" Levy yelled, but her smile and slight giggle gave her away. Soon the entire table was laughing.
"Quiet down girls," Mr. Reedus said after a minute.
"Yessir," the girls responded, calming down a little, but a few late giggles still escaped their lips.
It wasn't long after they quieted down that other table started a ruckus.
"It's a dragon, I'm telling you!" Natsu yelled at Gray.
"And I'm telling you it's a turtle!" Gray yelled back, taking his shirt off, much to Juvia's excitement.
"Dragon!"
"Turtle!"
"Dragon!"
"Turtle!"
The two went on, foreheads pressed against each other, a brawl seconds away from starting.
"Fine, then we will have someone break the tie!" Natsu yelled as he stormed toward Lisanna's table.
"Hey, Lis, doesn't this look like a dragon breathing fire?" Natsu asked, catching Lisanna completely off uard as he called her by her nickname. She didn't mind, but only Levy ever called her that, and she didn't think that they were on such a level that he already was calling her that.
"Well," Lisanna started, staring hard at the complete mess of a canvas.
"I think it looks like a dragon, Natsu," Lucy called out, but was ignored.
"I think it looks like a dragon breathing turtles," the silver haired sophomore finally let out hesitantly.
Natsu turned the canvas back toward him to study it, Gray peering over his shoulder at it as well. Their faces scrunched up in concentration. Lisanna thought it looked kind of adorable.
"Oh, I see it now!" Natsu said, pointing to some part of the canvas.
"Yeah, I guess it does look like that," Gray agreed.
"Thanks, Lis," Natsu beemed, before heading back to his seat.
"What type of drugs are you on, painting a dragon breathing turtles, that's crackhead shit right there," mumbled, causing Natsu to start fighting with him again.
….
The two girls sat in their beds, the tv on, but they ignored as they talked about today, Lisanna filling in Levy on the details of the talk she had with Natsu in P.E. and Levy teasing her roommate about already being on a nickname basis with Natsu.
As the girls shut off their lights before going to bed, Levy got out on last question. "Did you really see a dragon breathing turtles in that mess of a painting?"
"Nope. I just said something that was a happy medium."
The two girls shared a small laugh before retiring for the night.
