Hola peoples! Here is another chapter!
My favorite part about riding the trains is the running. The way the adrenaline pumps through me and the wind rushes through my hair, it's breath taking. My other favorite part is the fresh air that finds its way into the cars of the train. After being under ground for a few days, the fresh, cool air feels nice in my lungs.
Christina had found her way to one side of me and Al on the other side. It was comforting, knowing that I had friends like these. I've only known them for a couple days, but I'm already to the point where I could never imagine life without them. Will had also found a place in the car, right next to Chris. She claims she can tell everyone's emotions and feelings because of Candor, but she has yet to actually see Will.
Maybe it's because they can see the bare emotions that are plain on one's face, but not the raw emotions hidden deep inside, the ones that you can only see when you aren't so focused on seeing what others can't.
Or maybe she can't see the feelings on his face because of her own getting in the way. Making her think that she is seeing things instead of reality. Her own made up reality in a way.
"Who can guess where we are going?" Eric taunts us. No one knows the answer, so no one moves. Nervous glances get passed back and forth through us as we all sit and wait for Eric's next move, hoping it's not throwing one of us out of the train.
Eric's malicious gaze finally lands on me and an evil smile forms on his, now not as, less menacing lips. "Stiff," he breaths out slowly, as if tasting the words on his tongue. The nervous gazes stop and instead frightened ones land on me.
"Where do you think we are going?" he repeats his question, more as a threat than a question. I am frozen in my place, attempting to think out my next move, a move that won't get me thrown out of the train.
After a few moments I take a deep, shaky breath and slowly get up. No one questions me, they just watch. Some with intense gazes, some filled with wonder and curiosity, then others, like Eric's, full of evil, and one filled with love and concern.
My legs feel like they could give out on me at any second, but I continue on a determined path to the car door. Judging by the amount of time we have been on the train and how far away from the actually city we are, I'd say we are heading towards the gates, but why?
I turn on my heels, feeling a wave of courage wash over me and face Eric. "Why?" is all I ask.
"Why what?" Eric gives a sly smirk with a touch of an impressed look.
"Why are we heading towards the gates?" I ask narrowing my eyes cautiously at him.
"Good job Stiff," he says, but never answers my question. Instead Four steps in.
"You can go sit down now," Four says in an authoritative voice, with a hint of anodynes. "We are heading to the gates so you can learn about the jobs we have to offer here and so you can dwell on the ones you get stuck with if you rank one of the lowest."
At this point everyone seems to sigh in relief that they aren't going to expose of us somewhere beyond the gate or something drastic that Dauntless would stereotypically do.
"Are you crazy?" Chris asks astonished.
"Are you blind?" I shoot back.
"Touché," she laughs as quietly as she can.
"Seriously though, are you that blind that you can't see how much he likes you? I mean he must be blind too, or a coward. Just pray to god he's not a coward and just stupid," I exasperate.
"I think you're the stupid one, he clearly doesn't like me," she sticks her tongue out me and turns around to continue her conversation with Will, because they clearly are not crazy about each other and all.
So this chapter is slightly longer than my last one and I will be updating again soon! Review!
