Perfect Competence
'Bye, Hisoka.'
That was the last thing she said to him before she left. He knew it was something that he wanted. After all, it didn't fit him to train her himself or help her in anyway to make her stronger. That simply wasn't him. Yet, when she said she wanted to part their ways, Hisoka was surprisingly irritated.
"Die!"
His thoughts were interrupted as another man foolishly charged at him only to have his head severed from his neck instantly with a mere card. As Hisoka thoughtlessly slayed the fleeing men, he wondered what his ex-companion might be doing.
Sweat dripped down her face to her neck as she tried to even her breath out. How many days have it been? She wiped her sweaty forehead with her dirt-covered arm and wondered what did she do so wrong in her life to suffer like this.
'We'll see you in a week.'
That was what Killua said before leaving her all alone in this creature filled jungle four days ago. It's simple, he said, just follow our nen trail and you'll be fine. Well, fine her ass! In the past four days she was chased by a man eating bear, jumped into the river only to be chased by a fish creature that tried to bite her head off, and when she finally thought she had escaped the fish, a huge bird caught her and dropped her right into its baby's mouth. She was forced to burst out of its stomach using her reitsu, which greatly angered the mother bird, and in the midst of her frantic escape she fell out of the ridiculously tall tree right on to the ground only to severely injure herself.
And now, she leaned her broken body against the rough tree trunk and waited for her powers coursing through her to heal her injuries. With her internal bleeding issue taken care of, all she needed to heal was broken limbs. She could already feel her right leg healing itself, and it would only take another few hours to completely heal all of her injuries.
"Caw, caw!"
The echoing cries of birds sent chills down her spine, and Kagome quickly realized she did not have any fire or shelter to spend the night and it was already sunset. She could feel the rising bloodlust filling the jungle, and the predators ready to kill and feast on whatever prey they could find.
"Ah, damn. This is going to be a long, long night."
She only hoped her injuries would heal in time.
While Kagome was struggling through her night in the jungle, Hisoka was just done with a hot shower he wanted after the boring kill earlier. Water dripped from his damp, red hair and slid down his well-built body, and if Kagome were to be here, she would have turned bright red and yelled at him to put something on.
Hisoka chuckled at the thought. It was surprising he hadn't forgotten about her yet. Kagome was one of those he decided to remember about, but the past couple of days he realized she visited his thoughts more frequently than he thought. Of course, he always wondered about his toys. Perhaps it wasn't so strange of him to think of her. After all, she was one of the fruits he was waiting for.
"Ah, ah. Why must the fruit ripen so slowly?"
He spoke to himself as he slid into the nightgown. A small chuckle escaped his lips as his memory of the day Kagome asked about his clothing popped into his mind. Although he hated to admit, not having her around was a little frustrating sometimes. What irritated him more was that he could never figure out what about her made him so frustrated from time to time. He thought there was someone who warned that she would change him, but he wasn't sure. But one thing, Hisoka knew. When the time comes and Kagome becomes a ripen fruit, he will not hesitate to harvest it.
