I don't own Legend of Zelda, Anastasia, Treasure Planet, or Yu Yu Hakusho. I put the lyrics to the Song of Healing (this version watch?v=lw25_aZBiek). I own nothing (except Kalos). Enjoy! :) Link talking telepathic Sheik talking telepathic

Chapter Eleven

Kurama recovered from his sickness; just in time too. Midterms were on the way and all the professors were giving last minute assignment and everyone was studying their asses off; especially Jim and Link. Being new college, they weren't used to the workload that came with it; they asked help a lot, which their friends were happy to oblige. And soon Midterms came.

Link was staring at his scores; his face half pleasant and half disappointment. He passed most of his tests except for two: Math 105 and English 110. Link groaned. He knew he wasn't the smartest student but failing two tests made him feel stupid. He stuffed his bag and left his classroom, dejected.

Sheik was waiting outside, enjoying the sensation of the warm sun and the cold air. He heard the doors open and smiled as he turned his head to see Link. But his smile soon faded as he saw the sad and distant look on his boyfriend's face. "Link? Is everything ok?" Link shrugged and kept walking. Sheik immediately followed him. "Link, what's wrong?" "Nothing." Sheik stopped him. "Link, something is wrong. Please, won't you tell me?" Link looked at the ground, not sure if he should tell Sheik or not. Link decided to continue walking. Sheik sighed until he heard Link's voice in his head. I failed. What? I failed! I failed my English and my Math tests! I must the stupidest person in the world! Link, you're no- Yes I am! Even with your help, I couldn't pass; I let you down! I'm a big, stupid FAILURE! Link stopped right at the steps that led to Sheik's apartment. He sat the stone stairs and covered his face with his hands. Sheik was shock to see Link like this; he was also so positive and happy. Sheik joined him on the steps and gave him a comforting hug. Link, you're not a failure. It's ok. You passed most of your tests; you should feel proud of those! I know… it's not that easy though… What do you mean? I mean… When I started high school, my parents decided to intervene. Before, they let me do what I want and didn't give a damn, but… When my first grades came in-I did ok in middle school- my parents were furious. They were C's and B's but that didn't make them happy. They wanted better grades; all A's. The rest of my high school career, my parents would look at my grades and saw that they weren't all A's and they would punish me. They would take away my free time; filling it with studying. They took my phone, the internet; anything that they said distracted me from my school. And that included friends? Especially friends. They made sure I couldn't hang out with them.I'm sorry Link. I would go crazy if my parents did that… Even maybe consider running away or… suicide. That fact is… I did consider suicide. I ran away once but I was caught and since then I had a 24/7 guard. I didn't know what to do. I had no let; my parents were ruling my life. Then, after school when my guard was distracted, I blended in with the other students and slipped away. Soon I was atop a cliff, staring out towards the sea. With just one step, I'll be gone…

Sheik tightens his hold on Link. God Link… I can't imagine what you went through. I can't imagine you gone Link leaned into his embrace. Right now, I can't imagine either, not being here with you. But back then… I could imagine myself gone from the world. Then my bloody parents didn't have to worry anymore about my grades. But you didn't take your life… want happened? He happened. Karlos Richen. He was walking by when I was about do it… And all he did was ask what I was doing. I didn't answer at first but I did. And he just sat on rock and talked to me… Just talked. Soon I was away from the edge and sitting next to him, crying my eyes out. He listened to all my problems; he didn't mind. He even made me smile and laugh a bit. But I had to go; my parents would send the police after me, if need be. He told if ever I need a friend, I could call him and we can meet here. He gave me a cell phone and off he went. We saw each other few times after that; whenever my parents became too much. We soon became the best of friends. My grades got a bit better, just a few A's; still my parents wanted more. It was after a huge confrontation with my parents that the thought of suicide came again. I knew what to do. I lock myself in my room and texted on the phone Karlos gave me; sending him a desperate message to come to my house. I don't how he did it, but he somehow snuck in and climbed to my bedroom window. I immediately ran to him and he put his arms around me. I told what happened; my parents going to take me out of public school and put into a private school, where I could be monitored more easily. I didn't want that and I tried to defend myself, but my parents wouldn't hear it. And all the while I clung to him, crying, he held onto me and telling everything was going to be alright, that he was there for me. And then… again, I don't how or who made the first move… we… um… well… You two kissed, right?

Link looked at Sheik surprised that he said that he and Karlos kissed so easily. Yeah, we did… How did you guess? Sheik smiled. I figured that you liked him, the way you spoke about Karlos… it's sweet and caring. You two became a couple. Link smiled. Yes we did. After that night, that kiss, we became a couple. I didn't realize that I had feelings for him but when he kissed… I couldn't get it out of my mind… I couldn't get him out of my mind. We saw each other more frequently; as much as we can. He mostly snuck over to my house; even slept over a few times. Did you guys do it? Link blinked at Sheik. W-what? Sheik sighed. Did you guys do it? You know, have sex? Link's face turned dark red. Ah ha! You guys did! No we didn't! I knew he wanted to… but I wanted to wait… I thought it be more… romantic or amazing… When I was free from my parents. Sheik smiled and kissed Link's forehead. You're cute. Sorry if my question upset you. Link smiled and snuggled against Sheik. It's ok, I don't mind. So, what happened next? I was forced to go to a private school but with Kalos by my side, I could go through it. He made my days brighter. Everything was wonderful! My grades even got better! Then the end of my second year came…

Sheik could sense the sadness growing in Link; he knew what Link tells him next wouldn't be good. I was quickly walking to my and Kalos' spot; we've been secretly dating for two years now, but every time I saw him, I get a warm feeling in me. I saw him at our spot and broke into a run; I was so excited! But as I approached him, I saw a distant look in his eyes. I slowed down. I asked him what's wrong… and he said we're through. Sheik gasped. What? I couldn't believe it either. But he said we were through and then he left… I don't how I made it home, but I did. I ignored my parents and locked myself in my room. I tried texting him, calling him… I got response. My parents came to check up on me, trying to see what was wrong. I wouldn't answer. Then my father let something slip. 'That boy wasn't good for you; he distracted you from your schooling'. It was then that somehow my parents found about me and Kalos and they drove him away. The one thing that made my life bearable and made me happy, was gone because of my parents.

Sheik could feel Link's body go rigid with anger. He held Link close to him.I'm so sorry. Your parents were wrong to take Kalos away from you. It was wrong. When they left me alone, I packed my duffle bag, grab some money, and left my parents forever. You were right to leave them; they kept you from what you wanted to do. Link smiled. I'm glad I did. I didn't where to go at first, but then I remembered an uncle from my mother's side that when he babysat me, he would let me do crazy things. So I went to him. He smiled when he saw me and helped me get my diploma in a few months—tough months they were. Then I worked for him in his metal shop to raise money for college. I wanted to do well in college, so I try to at least pass. But when I don't pass… All these memories come back and I get depress again. You know, you're not a failure. Your parents didn't see you try to get better grades; all they wanted was a good boy that did better than everyone else. But that's not you. You have more fun and creativity than anyone I know. And I see you do try your hardest; Kalos saw that and I see it too. You're more than what your parents wanted. The you play the ocarina, its moves the soul to anyone who hears it. Link smile. Really? Really.

Sheik smiled and kissed Link firmly on the lips and Link responded. They broke away but Sheik could still sorrow in Link's heart. Then an idea hit. "Hey Link, I got that could cheer you up!" "Show me then." "With pleasure." Sheik grabbed Link's hand and pulled him inside his apartment. He led Link to his room and sat Link on his bed. Sheik retrieved his harp and sat on the bed next to Link. "This piece was inspired by you." Sheik said with a smile. "Really? How?" Link scooted closer. Sheik tapped his nose. "The way you play your ocarina. Remember I said, you move the soul, well I tried to do the same thing." Then Sheik started playing and added his voice to it.

Rest your head

Rest your heart

Rest your weary soul

Close your eyes

Sleep tonight

Dream of peaceful dreams

You are safe

No need fear

Rest and heal your wounds

Let the song

Heal your doubts

Wash them away

Here you stay

Protected

Safe from all eyes

Sleep and heal

From this song

Till you are well

Let your soul

Became free

Let it take flight

Feel the song flowing around

You are healed

The strums of the song faded softly. Sheik smiled as he felt Link leaning against him, sleeping. Midterms and the recent recurring memories put a lot of stress on Link. But Sheik's song did its job; put Link to sleep. Sheik carefully placed his harp done and quietly laid Link on his bed and tucked him. Sheik lightly kissed his lips. "Sweet dreams Link. I hope they're peaceful and happy." Link smiled in his sleep and cuddled closer to Sheik and he lightly stroked Link's hair.

"That's a handsome boy you got there." Sheik stiffed, recognizing the voice. He turned to the person hiding in the shadows of his room.
