-Chapter 12-

UPDATED... FINALLY. *^* Erm... Read and review. :3

-At Ember's Realm-

"You're here!" Danny shouted excitedly, like a child does when his friend arrives at their birthday party.

"Yippee." Ember said sarcastically as she picked up the guitar instruction sheet from the table.

"Let's go to Don's realm!" Danny said in a hurry, not being able to wait to visit a realm full of instruments and such.

"Who said you're going, kid?" Ember asked with a smirk.

"But... I have to go! Ember McLain should be the one to go to find the tool!" Danny huffed, looking slightly upset and bothered.

"Yeah, the problem is Ember McLain should know what the tool even is to go get it!" Ember contradicted smugly. "Not only that, I'd be hated if I started flying around with you in the Zone, too."

Danny stayed put as Ember left, as she said she would, to Don's realm only to find it not empty.

-Don's Realm-

"Hello."

"Hello, Mr. Creepy-Ass in this empty realm..." Ember mumbled, slightly shocked someone was in Don's realm but Don or her.

"Well then, that would make you Sir. Creepy-Ass in this empty realm, wouldn't it?" The man retorted. This man was a young gentleman, not quite Ember and Danny's age, around twenty or so. He had the same wit as Ember and Danny, however.

"What are you doing here?" Ember asked as her first question, walking closer to the man thinking she'd seen him before.

"I have just as much right to be here as you do, kid." He answered, tidying up the desk which had numerous papers about.

"You have no right to be here. This is Don's realm, but I doubt you'd know who he is. Someone wearing a necktie wouldn't know who someone as cool as Don was." Ember stated, but actually liked the way he wore his necktie; tilted and not straightened up to his neck, but it was hanging down by his side; Avril Lavigne's style of wearing them~

"Oh, really? Please do explain."

"With pleasure. Don was the guy who made my guitar, some of my friends' ghost instruments and ghost instrument tools. All that stuff you're messing with now, is all his and you shouldn't be touching a legends' stuff." Ember harshly said, being brutal and truthful with each word she said.

The man snorted at what she said, "A legend? The name's Singleton, Ronnie Singleton."

"Why should I care what your name is?" Ember asked, shaking her head carelessly.

"Because it appears you need my help, and since you're being awfully rude, I won't give it to you." Singleton bleakly said, pointing to the realm door to show Ember her exit.

Before Ember could retort, Ronnie used his basic ghost power of invisibility to grab the piece of paper out of "Danny's" hand.

"Ah, this looks interesting." He said, opening the folded paper with curiosity and gleam in his ghostly green eyes.

Very swiftly, Singleton dodged every swat and shove Ember threw at him.

"Oh... I remember this; the specific electric modified epiphone guitar with precise flaming details, certain mind powering effects and capabilities while being specifically designed for fiery punk-princess Ember McLain of the Ghost Zone."

Ember's mouth gaped numerous times, trying to find the right words that spoke her mind, without ruining her cover. After what seemed like forever, Ember had found her words, "Why do you know so much about Don's work?"

To Ember's surprise, he snorted at her question. "Don's work? I guess that's what we agreed to before he lost his afterlife."

Ember looked puzzled. She watched the fellow ghost continuously flicker through sheets and folders in the cupboards, seemingly to look for something in specific. He came to a sudden halt when he saw a grey, old and dusted sheet of A4 paper, with its ghostly white glow around it.

"Here. Take a read at this." He said, passing the paper excitedly, though with a dull smile.

Ember began reading, though the first paragraph made her yawn, she continued to read on anyway. The part on the sheet, which appeared to have been some sort of co-operation contract, that interested Ember the most was the part where it had said, "All credit of work and progress made shall be handed to Anderson Donovan "Don" Ray, no matter how equally separated such work load was divided between Anderson Donovan "Don" Ray and Singleton Ronald "Ronnie" Ivory."

"I... I still don't understand."

"You're a teenage kid who probably has no idea of any type of instruments, so of course you don't," He spoke harshly, but he had far more experience than Ember in the music industry so Ember couldn't complain. She knew much more than Danny anyway, too.

"I'll be blunt, kid... I'm the person you're looking for." He spoke softly, as he floated towards Ember ever so slightly.

"... You're Don?" Ember asked, confused and while not understanding.

"Ugh, no. I shall explain myself clearer; I am the one who made Ember McLain's guitar, as well as every other ghost tool and instrument made."

"Don did. His signature's permanently inked inside Ember McLain's guitar onto the bottom right corner of my guitar's back." Ember corrected, almost attempting to grab the guitar's neck from her back, only to find it wasn't there, but was behind Danny's back. Ember shuffled her feet on the spot awkwardly as she realised she couldn't prove the fact she had stated a mere moment ago.

"And that was part of the contract," He looked down slightly, knowing he was breaking the contract between him and Don by telling "Danny Phantom", or anyone, about the contract and confessing the truth behind Don's profession. "Don handled the names and such or who, what and where the instruments, and ghost tools, were going to and from, as I was creating each specification he told me to create precisely."

"... You were a simple puppet to him, basically." Ember summed up, shrugging as she began to believe this crazy story. He nodded drearily, taking the contract back to slowly burn it in green ecto energy that was formed in his hand, fashioned to disintegrate it.

"In that case, I guess I found the person that I should be asking help from." Ember admitted, breathing heavily, feeling as if the God of music was reborn again.

"Well, I could help worse. So, alright, I'll help," He agreed, grabbing Ember's hand to shake. Ember explained the guitar situation, avoiding the parts which included Danny and the button actually switching her with him.

"So, in a nutshell, one of your friends accidentally threw something at speed car chase speed and it unfortunately happened to hit Ember McLain's guitar and now her body-switching element is completely shot?" Singleton concluded, looking at Ember as if "he" was mad.

Ember nodded and pointed at the sheet of paper with the specifications on it, "See, this bit that's circled is the body-switch specs and I tried fixing it for Ember, but I needed a certain tool; the ghost instrumental tool 244EmDp."

"I see that." He mumbled, looking through his desks.

"So, how long do you think it'll take to fix the guitar?" Ember asked, casually floating on the spot.

"For you to fix it: a little longer than forever. If Ember McLain was doing it: a week. For me to do it: two or three days, depends really." He answered, picking up the tool Ember wished for, to pass over to her. ((-3rd day (4 days until concert)

"Well..." Ember thought for a moment. "Would it be alright if you fixed it?" Ember asked, hoping to get it done early so she could play the opening she'd be waiting to be offered to her for a while.

"Well, don't you think McLain herself should be asking for me to fix her guitar if she'd prefer that method?" He raised an eyebrow, laying the tool back down onto the corner of his crooked, old desk.

Ember was stuck for words. She was Ember McLain, so she had already given the permission. But in her current state, she'd need to bring Danny over to the realm to give permission, as fast as possible, since she needed to switch back to be able to do the opening. Also, the quicker she and Danny will switch back, the sooner she'd be able to kiss him without awkwardness.

"Erm... of course." Ember finally replied, taking off, back to her realm to grab Danny.

-Ember's Realm-

"OI, DIPSTICK!" Ember called, glancing at every inch of her realm until she spotted Danny, who was sipping what appeared to be sake, a Japanese alcohol. "And... what are you drinking?"

"I have no idea... but it's interesting and the box had Japanese on it and I was thirsty..." Danny answered, tilting his head a full 90 degrees, staring at the box of sake.

"What a dipstick, honestly..." Ember mumbled under her breathe as she grabbed Danny by the arm and flew her and Danny to Don and Ronnie's realm.

As soon as they had landed, there were casual expected greets and explanations (who Ronnie was and what Don actually was) between Ember and Ronnie, not that Danny was listening at all.

"... You seem drunk." Ronnie mentioned, finally, nudging Danny's arm slightly, to find him stumble backwards like he had no control over his movement. "What did I expect? I didn't expect you to be sober, in all honesty, so I'm not sure why I sounded so surprised when I asked."

Ember quietly cussed at Ronnie under her breath, mildly offended. "If you two are quite done doing whatever the hell, then mind fixing her guitar as quick as possible? Please, and thank you." Ember said, losing her patience with them both and their dawdling.

"Wow, and I thought Ember was the one without patience." Ronnie retorted jokingly, rolling his eyes as he grabbed her guitar from around Danny's neck.

Danny stayed quiet. Though he wasn't able to think straight, he could tell he shouldn't be speaking for that moment being.

"So, what? You going to stand here for three or four days until I fix it or what?" He asked, as he noticed "Danny Phantom" stood there, watching his every moment on her guitar.

"Three of four? Oi, you said it would be two or three!" Ember complained, slapping Ronnie at the back of the head, clearly showing how she was unimpressed with his work already.

"Hey, hey! I said two or three, DEPENDING ON OTHER THINGS."

"Like!?"

"If I can be bothered or not! Jeez, I have an afterlife to spend doing other things that I enjoy, besides sitting in a room fiddling with guitars and other ghostly instruments."

"Oh, so that's it? Dumbass, look, here's the deal and what's going down at the moment: Ember's got plans in four days. FOUR FRIGGIN' DAYS, YOU HEAR? And she may not be able to go to those plans due to you being not bloody bothered. So, if you don't mind, it'd be preferable if you'd spend two or three days of your afterlife in complete solitude with concentration to fix her guitar!" Ember explained, raging as she stormed in circles, before grabbing the collar of Ronnie's shirt to push him back demoralizingly.

"... With your stubbornness, no patience and skills to intimidate people, I'd say you should be Ember McLain's boyfriend..." He muttered, getting back to work almost instantly.

'And Ember totally reckons the dipstick should be her boyfriend, too.' Ember thought awkwardly.

"As much as I'd love to watch you pair Phantom and I together, I want to go back to my realm instead, yanno?" Danny said, raising his hand for everyone's attention, like a school child would do in class to answer a question.

Ronnie raised an eyebrow at Ember, subtly implying, 'Go ahead and leave already.'

Ember sighed, and floated over to Danny as she linked her arm with his in order to drag him since it didn't look safe for him to fly properly.

"Awwe, you two look so kawaii!" He teased, adding along, "And if you've never seen anime, kawaii is Japanese for cute, you adorable little shits." He stuck his tongue out childishly as he dodged a paper weight that was thrown towards him.

As Ember was flying, Danny (whose arms were hanging across her shoulders since carrying him was a drag) to her realm, he began mumbling, "He's right, you know."

"What do you mean?" Ember asked, unsure of what he was talking about.

"We would make a pretty cute couple, right?" Danny asked, following what Ronnie said.

Ember halted so suddenly and began to blush slightly, quickly replying, "THAT'S THE ACOHOL TALKING. SHUT UP."

"I guess, from how you treat people on your outside appearance, that you're intimidating and you tend to show quite a bit of sureness and stuff... but I can totally bet you have a soft spot for love." Danny brought up, smirking slightly as he saw Ember's face turn redder by the second.

"Don't make me drop you." Ember warned, bringing her head down slightly so her snowy-white fringe hovered over her entire face, covering most of her blush.

"I can bet that blush would look far cuter if you were blushing in Ember's body." Danny mumbled, blowing Ember's snowy-white hair out of her face.

"I. Will. Leave. You. Here. Don't think I won't." Ember sinisterly looked into Danny's eyes, (her own), and glared darkly.

"I'm in no state to fly on my own, and since you love me, you have to help." Danny teasingly replied, chuckling lightly.

Without second thought, Ember flew lower and lower until her feet had laid against the ground of a floating green island and grabbed Danny, from around her shoulders, to sit him on the ground.

"And bye." Ember said, taking off in the direction to the Fenton portal.

"Good job on pissing off your crush to the point where she ditches you." Danny sighed and hit his head on the floor numerous times.

After a few moments, Danny saw a figure in the distance. "Pfft, I knew Ember would come back for me." Danny began waving his arms about, to let Ember know where he was. As the figure came closer, the figure looked a little different than Danny Phantom. Danny's vision would be clearer, but alcohol is supposed to impair your vision, not enhance it.

Danny stopped waving his arms to squint his eyes, hoping to get a clearer view of what appeared to be speeding towards him. Now, the sensible thing to do would be to use his basic ghost power of invisibility and quietly make an escape, Danny thought. Though, instead, his initial reaction, anyone's really, was to panic on the spot and shield yourself with your arms.

Before the anonymous figure dashed any closer to Danny, it was hit off course by something else.

When Danny had finally opened his eyes, he was watching a very interesting rumble between an unknown female ghost and Danny Phantom.

'Sneer comment now or later? Is now a good time?' Danny wondered, then opened his mouth to call out, "OI, DIPSTICK! I knew you'd come back for me, love!" Danny blew a kiss, cheekily, looking as if he was about to burst into tears of laughter.

"NOT NOW." Ember yelled, dodging numerous attacks from the female ghost, who was very much unknown to Danny.

"Ooh, question! Question! Who's she?" Danny asked, tilting his head side to side as he pointed directly at the ghost.

"YOU DON'T KNOW WHO I AM? OH, THAT'S FUNNY, YOU WHORE."

'Annnd I'm guessing Ember and her know each other, not on the best of terms, obviously...' Danny thought, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Erm... GO PHANTOM!" Danny cheered on, shrugging, unsure what to say or do.

"I have no idea who the hell you are, but this is between Ember and I only! No interference, please and thank you!" The young teenager commented, talking to "Danny", shoving Ember back roughly.

Getting tired of the small pointless fight, she ended it quickly and simply by binding Ember and Danny together by their waists and arms with a strong type of ghost enhanced chains.

"Dipstick, just so you know, I can normally beat the hell out of this chic, no problem. Though, for me to be able to do that, I needed my guitar and on my guitar I also have a spell which can easily break these chains, no sweat." Ember whispered feeling strongly irritated.

"Ember, I only used the chains this time because I noticed you didn't have your guitar. Stupid for you to leave it somewhere and to not have it with you, really." She said, flicking her hair behind her shoulder snootily.

"So, what's the point tying Phantom here, too? Can't you just leave him if I'm apparently the one you want to battle with?" Danny asked, raising an eyebrow, feeling a lot more sober than earlier and less dizzy, seeing a he felt more sense come back to him.

"N-No! That's not a good idea!" Ember abruptly commented.

"Hm... is he your new boyfriend, Ember? Interesting... he doesn't seem your type. He seems... scrawny; small built up body; short; doesn't seem the bad-boy type. What's the deal, Ember?"

'Scrawny? Pfft, well screw you, too...' Danny mentally retorted, offended. 'Only because Ember was the one fighting, not me...'

"Look... Phantom, is it? If Ember shuts up, I'll tell you the reason she's such a bitch. Though, c'mon, let's be honest, she'd be a bitch anyway even if the reason wasn't there." She snidely folded her arms, rolling her eyes as she tapped her right foot against the floor anxious with having to relay the story to someone again.

"Dipstick, everything she'll say is bull crap. Don't even think that that's how the story actually is." Ember whispered, nudging Danny's shoulder to get his attention.

"Here's the actual story of why Ember and I aren't exactly on the greatest of terms. Once upon a time, I, Emily Stravato, was just a usual plain ghost. You know, being the silent type, reading, writing and such. I spent my ghost years learning about everything I found interesting. I was doing this for the first few years after I died, until I met him," She paused to daydream for a moment, "He changed my life; showed me that the way I was living my afterlife was pointless."

Ember purposely yawned.

"Your boyfriend's rude, too..." She commented, glaring at "Danny."

The ghost continued, "After all those times of robbing places, following destructive commands of certain people... someone named Slade, I believe, anyway... we robbed places, I became an arsonist, did graffiti everywhere. Oh, the rebel teenage life; I loved it. Ember's a lot like that... and has always been that way. I doubt she's ever been the innocent type and-"

"-Hang on, who's this guy?" Ember asked, clueless, as Danny would be.

"My one true love... Red X."

Anybody know who Red X is? ;D

He's one of my favourite characters from another cartoon. If you don't know of him, you should totally start watching Teen Titans (Not the new Teen Titans GO version. XD) He's in 2 or so of the episodes. cx

Anyway, REVIEW! :DDD
