Epilogue

10 Years Later

It was warm today. I kicked off the bedsheets, I was sweating. Kaoru stirred, "What did those sheets do to you, Mitsuko?" he mumbled.

"It's hot, Kaoru." Hikaru said, placing his arm around us both.

"And you're making it hotter." I said, but didn't move his arm.

"Are you sure it's Hikaru and not the naked lady between us?" Kaoru said, reminding me that I had just kicked off the only piece of clothing I had on. I tried to cover myself out of instinct. They laughed.

"We've been sleeping together since we moved to France-" Hikaru said.

"And you're still ashamed?" Kaoru said. They grinned mischievously, as they always did. I grabbed the sheet from the floor and wrapped it around myself.

"Well, I'm sure you've grown used to naked bodies, with all those models you see at work everyday, Hikaru." I pouted.

"I see lots of models, that is true." He wrapped his arms around my waist, and dragged me back to bed. "But none of them compares to you." he said.

Kaoru directed my face towards his and kissed me deeply.

"Hey! We were having a moment!" Hikaru laughed.

Kaoru broke the kiss, just to tell him "You snooze, you lose, brother."

"So, what are we having for breakfast?" I said, standing up, headed for the shower.

"You!" they said, pulling me back into bed.

...

"-chin?"

...

"Madame Hitachiin?" Sophie was loud.

"Huh? Oh, Sophie, sorry I wasn't listening." I was lost in thought again.

"I need your signature here to publish that article about pointy shoes." she said. I had recently being appointed senior editor of the fashion section of V Magazine, maybe it had to do with my dad being one of the main investors, or maybe I was just very good at my job. Who knew? No one seemed to mind.

I proofread the article once more, signed it and gave it to Sophie. "Oh, madame? Your husband's on line one." she said from her desk.

"Which one, Sophie?"

"Monsieur Kaoru." The way she said Kaoru's name was way too funny, so french.

I picked up the phone, "Well, bonjour, monsieur Hitachiin."

"Bonjour, madame Hitachiin." his voice was full of humor. "My people just told me that your people want to interview me! Should I be calling nepotism here?"

"Or maybe I has to do with the fact that you are a rising star. I've been to your shop, you know? Everyone wants to wear you, monsieur."

"Well, they can wear the clothes I design. You, my dear, can wear me."

It astonished me how those comments could still make me blush, "Did you see the news today? There was a line outside the video game store. Can you guess which game they wanted to buy?" I asked.

"Could it be that game that has kept Hikaru up so many nights in a row? Oh I'm so surprised!" he said, mockingly.

"Stop being, sarcastic! But, yes! We did tell him it would be success. In other news, does this mean you're doing the interview with us?"

"For you, Mitsuko, anything."

"Great, I'll see you at home tonight. We have to celebrate!"

"Bye, badass magazine editor-chan!" He hung up.

I stared at my wedding rings, I had two delicate gold bands on each ring finger. One for each husband, I guess. We had been married for three years now, and it has been the best decision I've made.

Hikaru became a graphic designer, mostly working on video games. Kaoru became a fashion designer, and set up a small boutique in the middle of Paris. As for me, V Magazine has always been my favorite, so I applied for an internship in college. Paris was home to us, that penthouse overlooking the Eiffel Tower has been our paradise these last three years.

At 6 o' clock I left work and headed home, I had ordered a cake to celebrate Hikaru's success. I was just in time to pick it up. I also had another surprise... for both of them.

...

"Hikaru, Kaoru? Anybody home?" I called.

"In the kitchen, Mitsuko." Hikaru answered. I went to him, but there was no one in the kitchen. I put my bags on the counter.

"Hikaru?" Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped themselves around my waist. I turned to kiss the owner of those wonderful arms.

"Kaoru... where's my other husband?"

"Oh, so you admit you've been cheating on me with another man!" he gasped, dramatically.

"Monsieur! Who are you and what are you doing to my wife?!" someone exclaimed from the doorway.

"Darling! It's not what it looks like!" I cried dramatically. He came to us and wrapped his arms around us both.

"So you guys are not celebrating without me, right?" Hikaru pouted.

"Nope, your cake is on the counter. There's also a gift, for both of you." I said.

"Really?" they both smirked and eyed the small, brightly colored box on the kitchen counter.

"Race you for it, Kaoru!" Hikaru cheered and ran to get the box.

"What!? No fair!" Kaoru went running after him. They were so childish.

Hikaru got to box first, quickly ripping away the wrapping paper and peeking at the inside. His face sobered up when he saw the contents.

"What is it, Hikaru?" Kaoru asked. Hikaru gave him the box, he seemed to be in shock. I couldn't help but giggle.

Kaoru grabbed the box and looked inside, he emptied its contents onto his hand. His smile was one of the most wonderful things I have ever seen. Hikaru chose that moment to crash into me with a kiss. Kaoru put the pregnancy test and the box that held it on the counter, and joined the hug.

"I love you." they both said.

" I love you, too" I said, as they both kissed my cheeks.
