I am sooooo sorry for taking so long to update! But, because I'm in my last year of high school I've been bombarded with coursework and revision etc. Anywaaaaay, I apologize again, and this chapter is pretty short and shitty, but at least it's an update..

"I kissed Kathy."

Monica had to grab onto the kitchen counter for support, it felt like someone had just punched her in the stomach, knocking the wind out of her. "You- you what?" She managed to ask.

"I kissed Kathy.." Chandler repeated quietly.

She knew it, she knew it was too good to be true. Just as things started going their way, something, well someone came along and ruined it. 'How ironic' she thought. Was this how Kathy felt when she found out about her and Chandler? Did she feel like someone had punched her? Like someone had ripped her heart out and walked all over it?

"Mon?" Chandlers gentle voice brought her back to reality.

She stared at him intently, feeling his guilt just from looking into his eyes. "Why?" She asked simply.

'Why?' A question asked so frequently by so many people, but for Chandler it was the hardest question for him to answer at this moment in time. He had no idea why he kissed Kathy, he had no feelings for her at all. One minute he was returning his wedding band then the next they were kissing against the door. "I- I don't know." He answered meekly.

"You don't know?!" She screamed, her anger getting the better of her. "Do you not care about me at all Chandler? I gave up everything to be with you! My education, my family, my reputation! My future! And you go and-" She broke into hysterical sobs, realising that she had given up practically everything she had.

Chandler rushed towards her, pulling her into his embrace. Feeling her fight him he tightened his hold and repeatedly whispered 'shh' into her ear. "I'm sorry, Monica. I'm so sorry, baby, it's you I want. Not her. I love you so much."

"So you say." She shot back bitterly, pulling away from him. "Answer me honestly.. Do you want to be with Kathy?"

"Of course I don't."

"I'm finding it really hard to believe you, Chandler! If you don't love her at all then why did you kiss her?"

"I don't know!" He yelled. "I well and truly don't, Monica. If I had the slightest clue then I'd tell you, but I don't! What I do know is that it's you who I want to spend the rest of my life with! You think you've made sacrifices?" He asked, rhetorically. "I've lost my job! My own mother hates me. People think I'm a pervert, but you know what? I don't care! As long as I have you I don't care about any of those things! Please don't throw this away!"

Monica scoffed and laughed falsely. "I'm not throwing this away! You're the one who kissed someone else, after promising me that you didn't love them anymore!"

They remained silent, taking in each others views.

"So what do we do now? Do we try and make this work? Or.." He didn't want to say the other possibility, he couldn't imagine life without her.

"I don't want to lose you." She admitted.

"I don't want to lose you either. I love you, Mon."

"I love you too."

AN: I'm skipping straight to the part where Monica goes back to school, which is Wednesday. It's rushed btw.

Chandler tapped on the bathroom door which was currently occupied on Monica getting ready for school. "Mon! Come on, you're going to be late for your first day back!"

The door opened, revealing Monica looking very nervous and pale."Do I have to go? People will be pointing, and calling me names and.."

"I know, honey. But you don't have that long left there, only a few months. Then you'll be in college and it'll be a fresh start, you'll be fine. Plus Rachel and Phoebe will be there, they'll help you through it."

Monica wasn't fine.

As soon as she walked through the doors all eyes were on her. The girls hissed 'slut', whilst the boys surrounded her and asked her inappropriate questions, making her feel uncomfortable. Comments were thrown at her from every angle. As soon as she made it to her private class, she was crying so hard she couldn't work for the first twenty minutes.

At the end of the day Chandler watched from his car as Monica left school and walked in his direction. On the way she was stopped by a few girls in her class, they said something to her and started laughing. He then watched his girlfriend slug the 'leader' of the cliche in the face. Jumping out, he ran towards her and pulled her away.

"What was that?" He asked when they were in his car.

"What?" Monica replied, checking her bruising knuckle.

"Why did you hit her What did she say?"

Monica avoided eye contact before answering,"she asked me if you.."

"If I was what?"

"She asked me if you were a good ride."

Chandler sighed, feeling sorry that Monica had been put through so much on her first day back. Who knew high school kids could be so cruel? He knew that when when he still worked there, he caught a few people picking on others, but nothing as mean as what had happened to Mon. Placing his hand on top hers, he promised "we'll get through this. Together."

"Together" She repeated.
