A/N: I've put up the start of mature-rated collection of one-shots I mentioned a while ago that include but are not limited to Cam-centric pairings. First one was admittedly Cam x Nixie, since this has all gotten me into the habit of writing for them - a habit I hope to have fun breaking soon. Submitted under the name 'In the End, We're All Just Animals'. If M-rated sounds up your street, please feel free to check it out. If not, onwards to a safely rated K+ drabble!

Prompt: The Songfic Shuffle Drabble Game! - Taken from RE-imagine your OTP - Shuffle-selected song: Breezeblocks

A challenge where you have to write a drabble to a song chosen on shuffle from Itunes/music player of your choice. You then only have the duration of the song to write that drabble. You're supposed to do it for ten, so the other nine may filter through eventually, depending on how lazy I'm feeling.

Setting: Soon after Cam's big screw up.

Rating: K+ (Haven't ventured away from T in ages)

Pairings: Cam x Nixie

Warnings: Angst, and short since I only had 3 minutes and 47 seconds to write this madness.

Recommended Listening: Breezeblocks - Alt-J

Breezeblocks

"Nixie, you can't just leave me like this," Cam called after her, and Nixie could hear the desperation in his voice. Perhaps, before everything had happened, she might have felt some kind of sympathy for him. Now though, all she experienced was a cold, stony sensation in her chest.

"Yes, Cam, I can," she answered him coldly, turning back towards him for a moment. She wanted to hurt him, to make him pay for what he had done with cruel, cutting words. She didn't want to run from him anymore, she wanted to fight. "You deserve nothing better."

"What I said I felt for you was real, Nixie," Cam said, imploring her to believe him.
"Everything you said was a lie to get me to help you ruin all of our lives," Nixie hissed through her teeth, her hands balling up into fists at her sides.

"That's not true. I really do like you Nixie. You know I feel more than that," Cam said, his voice soft, quiet, hurt. This only enraged Nixie further- how did he get to be injured? She was the one who had been betrayed, heartbroken in a moment of public humiliation and misplaced trust.

"You don't feel anything Cam. You are a cruel, selfish land-boy who thinks of no one but himself," Nixie said sourly, her words dripping with venom. She could see the damage she caused him, his body curling over on itself in self-defence as she lashed out at him verbally.

"I'm not- I don't- I care about you Nixie," Cam stuttered, his voice pleading and small. "Please, you can't leave me. Zac's gone; the rest won't even look at me. I can't lose you too."

"You never had me Cam," Nixie said flatly, and she was surprised by how genuine the lie sounded. Over those past few months of deception, she'd become a remarkably good liar. That was perhaps the one and only upside of Zac growing a tail.

Turning on her heel, filled with bitter satisfaction at the pain she knew she had caused, Nixie moved to storm off. Before she could leave, however, Cam ran after her, catching her wrist and pulling her back. "Nixie, please, please don't go," he said, his words feverish, desperate. He was a boy deserted, and his isolation terrified him. "I love you."

"No Cam, you don't," Nixie informed him frostily, breaking his grip on her. "You only love yourself."
