Oh my God, guys. I think I have a binge television problem. For real though. I watched the ENTIRE Death Note series in two days. That's thirty-seven episodes…it's just so FUCKING good! On a more relevant note, this is your last chance to vote on my poll for those who haven't and want to. The decision will be made next chapter. That's right, you heard me. Selissa's fate will be decided next chapter. I think I already know what I'm going to do, but last minute voting can sway me back to my other idea. SO, if you want to vote, now is your chance, especially since the next chapter will be up sooner rather than later (the large majority is already written, I just need to add in the end depending on which fate is chosen).

Damn! Come on, Alissa, wake up, Seto thought as the pillars crumbled and pieces began to fall around him and the other four time travelers. Alright, think. There has to be some way to get out of this before we're crushed. Wait! Wasn't there a Ka releasing spell in that book? Maybe that will force out Alissa's Ka! What was it? In this space…no that wasn't it…I call upon…no, that isn't it either! Come on, Seto! Think! What was the spell? Wait, I've got it! Seto struggled until he was able to free his mouth from the dark tendrils covering the bottom half of his face.

"In this time and in this place, I conjure three through time and space. In this time and in this hour, I call upon my ancient power." This stupid thing had better work! Seto was surprised to see that it wasn't Alissa that the spell was affecting, but himself. The glowing started in his palms first, a deep blue color. The light began to spread until his whole body was glowing. Then the light burst outwards until all five time travelers were engulfed by the dark blue hue as the pillar crumbled completely. When the light died down, a dark colored humanoid with wings and a long blade floated above them holding the fallen pillar.

"Is dat-?" Joey began as the monster roared and threw the pillar in the direction of Shadow Magus.

"It's Duos!" Yugi breathed, shocked.

"But who's controllin' him? Liss's Ka is da Blue Eyes so it can't be her."

"It's my brother!"

"Duos, free us now!"

The winged beast roared, rushed forward, and cut through the dark tendrils with its blade.

"No! You will not escape me!" Shadow Magus roared, throwing a ball of dark energy at the time travelers that were just set free.

Before the attack could hit, Duos intercepted it with his blade and surged forward to attack.

"Everyone gather around now while that freak is distracted!" Seto ordered, dragging the still unconscious Alissa into his arms.

"Where are we goin' next, Rich Boy?" Joey asked as he and the others quickly gathered around.

"Forget about working our way backwards in order. We're going to our first lives.

"Are you sure dat's a good idea? I mean, Ishizu said-."

"I don't care what Ishizu said! We are gaining nothing by traveling life to life like this. If I'm wrong about this, which I'm not, then we can go back to the other ones that we missed later. Right now we need to get the hell out of here while that freak is still distracted!"

"Well den say da spell, Kaiba."

"I would if you would shut up, Wheeler."

"Guys! Now is not the time to argue. Just say the spell before we miss our chance!"

Seto spoke the words of the spell and the world of Ancient Egypt slowly faded away into black.

"Dat was a close one!" Joey sighed in relief as he pulled himself up. "So, uh, where are we exactly?"

"We're in Babylon, "Seto answered, lightly laying Alissa on the ground.

"Is she going to be okay?" Mokuba asked, coming to stand behind his brother.

"She should be fine."

"Maybe ya should heal her head injury now. She could have a concussion."

Seto pulled the Book of the Dead from Alissa's satchel and flipped through the book until he found the dog-eared page. He placed his palm gently on the bump on her forehead before speaking.

"Stem the blood that is flowing through, seal the wound with skin anew. As I command it, so mote it be."

He, along with the rest of the group watched as the bump shrank and then disappeared. Now satisfied that her injury was healed, Seto picked Alissa up again and turned to the others.

"We should find a place to stay. I sent us back a couple days before we died so we could have a few days to figure everything out. I'd rather not spend those couple days in a cave."

"We're right behind ya, Rich Boy."

The group walked through the town of Babylon until they ran into a young merchant by the name of Silani. The young merchant offered them refuge in exchange for labor. The group agreed.

As soon as the group reached Silani's home, Seto carried Alissa to one of the several rooms. He gently placed her on one the cot in the room and pulled up a chair.

"Will your friend be okay?" Silani asked from the doorway, flicking his dark curls out of his vision.

"She's my betrothed," Seto corrected quickly. Well, that's not completely inaccurate, Seto thought.

"Oh, when are you two to be wed?"

"I'm not sure."

"Would you like me to prepare anything for when she wakes? Maybe some wine?"

"No, thank you. I'll look after her."

Silani nodded before excusing himself. As soon as he was gone, Seto turned his attention back to Alissa. It was slightly concerning to him that she was still unconscious. He had healed her head injury, but even that hadn't roused her. He couldn't help the smile that formed on his lips when her eyes fluttered open.

"Mm, Seto? What happened?"

"You were knocked unconscious. Are you feeling alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit groggy," she answered as she sat up. She frowned and looked around the room in confusion.

"Where are we?"

"Babylon. Our first life."

"First life? But what about-?"

"This is the life we were cursed in."

"What? How do you know?"

"Because we both died in this life."

"Oh, that's right. I forgot you found that rule in one of the books back in Egypt. Did you find anything else in those books?"

"Just a spell that can be used to release your Ka. I wrote it down in your notebook. I figured you could use it when you're practicing whatever it is Ishizu told you."

"Oh, uh thank you. I'll take a look at it tomorrow."

"Is something bothering you?"

"Ah, no. I'm fine."

"Do you take me for an idiot?"

"No! It's just…I don't know. It's just that-I guess now that I know that we're in the life where the curse was cast, I'm scared."

"Hmph, what reason would you have to be scared?"

"What if we can't reverse the curse? I mean, we've gone through so many lives, and I'm just afraid that this one will end up like all the others."

"It won't."

"How do you know?"

"I'm Seto Kaiba, I know everything."

"You know, now is not the time to be an ass. I am legitimately scared. I'm scared that we aren't going to be able to stop the curse like we want to and I'm scared that something terrible is going to happen. I don't want us to end up like Bonnie and Clyde, or Lancelot and Guinevere, or Cleopatra and Caesar, or any of the rest of them."

He reached forward and took her hands in his. He turned them over in his own, lightly tracing the backs and palms of her hands.

"Do you see any similarities in our past lives?"

"What do you mean?"

"Do you see something that they all have in common, besides the curse?"

"I mean, I guess they are all power couples but-."

"Exactly."

"What?"

"There's a reason we're always reincarnated as a power couple. We don't like to lose, and I promise you, Alissa that we won't. We will fix this."

"Are you sure?"

"Am I the President of KaibaCorp?"

She hummed quietly before wrapping her arms around him.

"I don't know how you always manage to know the right thing to say."

"I'm a businessman, being eloquent is part of the trade. It doesn't hurt that I'm in love with you either."

She blushed and buried her face further into his chest. The brunet did say those words much more frequently than he used to, but it was still very special and rare occasion when he did say them, and he had been saying them a lot over the course of their trip through time.

"You're being embarrassing."

"It's just you and me here."

"I know."

She leaned up to kiss him lightly on the lips. The kiss soon turned to a passionate one as the lovers pressed their mouths together fiercely. She finally pulled away and rested her head on his shoulder.

"I love you too."

Okay, so this chapter was just…it's a hot mess, let's be honest. I don't know what it was, but it was just SO DAMN HARD to write! I couldn't formulate the ideas I had, as well I would've liked to and I don't know why. I think I'm just SO ready for Spring Break next week that my brain is literally just not having it. Oh well, next chapter will be better. Thanks for the reviews for last chapter. Let me know what you guys thought about this chapter and don't forget to vote if you haven't yet. This is the last chance. Anyhoo, I'll talk to ya'll later.
