Aomine got up in a very good mood. Well, he had this mood from yesterday.
He got up, put on clean clothes (he even opened his wardrobe to do that, come on!), washed his face and teeth and went down to make himself some breakfast. He then ate his sandwiches sitting near the kitchen table.
He looked around, searching for something. And he found it. The calendar. He almost coughed when he understood what day it was today.
Their winter beak will end in a few days and they still hadn't thought about shooting. Well, Tetsu said that he had an idea, but that was it. Shit. Not to mention that their match with Yosen is coming very quickly.
Maybe they should meet more often? Well, they meet every day, but in the evening. So, should he call Tetsu and ask him to come earlier?
Yes, that was a good idea. Not because he wanted to see him. Of course not.
So, he ran to his room and grabbed his phone. He clicked Kuroko's number on his list of quick calls and gulped down his food.
"Hello?"
"Hey Tetsu..."
To tell the truth Kuroko was happy to get out of his house. Not only did he get to meet with his friend, but train too. Tetsuya was happy.
He walked along the streets in bright morning light. He heard as people chatted around him and it didn't disturb him. He felt as if the world was painted in bright colors.
His heart felt light.
He walked in the court that had become his favorite spot in the last few weeks and smiled at the known person who stood there, shooting a ball right into the hoop.
"You're early? What a surprise!" The boy turned and frowned. "I really am!"
Aomine walked to him and patted him on the head. Pretty hard.
"I can come early sometimes, you little bastard!"
Kuroko chuckled at that. Just like old times.
"Ahh yeah, definitely wasn't a time when you were almost an hour late!"
Daiki moved back and put his arms on his chest, crossing them.
"Now, now... I never was an hour late!" he said confidently. He even smirked at the end.
But Kuroko knew better.
"Ah, is that so? Maybe you remember when we were supposed to buy present for Akashi's birthday and I waited for you nearly an hour at the bus station?"
Aomine looked around. Tetsuya could see a small blush on his cheeks. It looked cute.
But, it meant he won this round. Yeah, sweet victory. He couldn't brush away the grin that started to form on his face. Calm down.
"T-that was because..." The larger boy stuttered and scratched his cheeks.
"Because what?" Tetsuya drilled this topic. He moved closer to Aomine and stared right at his face.
"N-never mind, let's play!" Daiki turned on his heels and ran to pick up the ball that lay near the hoop.
Kuroko loved teasing him. It was his own personal hobby.
But Aomine didn't have to know about that.
"It's still not this..." Daiki murmured as he looked at Tetsu's wrist.
It bended nicely, almost perfectly and the ball flew. But, it didn't get inside. Tetsu rotated his hand, left, right. But nothing worked.
"Hmm, I have to change something..."
The tanned boy yawned and checked the phone in his pocket. It was nearing 2 p.m. They should grab something to eat.
"Hey!"
The bluenette lifted his head from ball that he was studying close to his eyes.
"Want something to eat?"
"You're going to Majiba, right?"
Aomine nodded.
"Yup!"
"So buy me vanilla shake. Large, please..."
"Only that?" Aomine lifted his eyebrow. But he should know that. Tetsu didn't eat much, only drink those vanilla shakes everyday. "Ehhh... Be right back!"
Kuroko nodded and returned to his ball.
Daiki went out of the street court and turned left.
On the street wandered many students that had free time. He even recognized some people from Touou, But he paid them not much time as he saw a known sign just a few feet away.
He grabbed his wallet from a pocket as he walked inside the bar. The line was ridiculously long, but he should have predicted that. Many people in line chatted pretty loud and it pissed him off, but he could do nothing to change it. Maybe only curse under his nose and murmur some inappropriate words.
Finally, after many minutes he got his chance to order something.
He bought ten cheeseburgers, a cola and a large vanilla shake. He asked for a bag to carry all of it there. After a second of thinking he asked for two big fries too.
"You're pretty hungry?"
Well Aomine wasn't easy to scare, but this time he jumped in air. He looked around for source of the voice only to find a familiar blonde boy beside him.
"Ahh, it's you..."
"I don't like the way you said that!" Wakamatsu's forehead became one big wave of wrinkles.
Aomine paid no mind. He liked messing with people. Especially him. It was easy and beside all it was pretty amusing.
"And it's not all for me. Have you ever seen me drinking a vanilla shake?"
"No! I haven't! That's why I was surprised!"
"Oh, you care for me so much that you even know what I'm eating. I'm touched!"
Ah Aomine loved the way Wakamatsu's face turned into a grimace of pain.
"Of course, asshole! If I can tear down that smirk on your f..."
"Wakamatsu-san, language!"
Sakurai, who apparently stood next to them the whole time finally said something.
"It's not my fault that he is pissing me off!"
Aomine wanted to snort at that, but a woman at the cash register gave him a big bag of food. He moved from the place to order and waited. Well, why? He didn't know. He had this feeling that from time to time, he could wait for his teammates.
They got a bag with their own items. Wakamatsu's eyes went wide as he saw him standing there waiting for them. Well, Daiki was surprised too at that.
"You waited for us!?" He even had to say it.
Daiki sighed and turned so they were behind him.
"Whatever! Let's just go!" Daiki yawned one more time and walked out of the bar.
They aligned steps together so to walk next to each other.
Sakurai said nothing. He only stared at the ground. Wakamatsu opened his mouth.
"How is your winter holiday?"
Touou's ace yawned before he answered.
"Ah... Good, besides that I spent all the holiday on a court in the cold…" He replied.
He tried to look like he was grumbling, but he felt a grin coming to his face. Brush it off!
"I can't believe it. You, on a court?! You barely go to practice!"
Wakamatsu's surprised tone pissed him off, but he couldn't agree with him. Well... He didn't say he was playing with Tetsu. That would explain many things, but he had a feeling Wakamatsu won't understand. And he really didn't want him to understand that. Especially him.
Because he had this feeling Imayoshi knew it.
"Even I sometimes play for my own satisfaction..." Or Tetsu's satisfaction. But he had fun doing this so he moreover, had satisfaction from it too.
"Eh... Put me away. What about you?"
The blonde boy opened his bag and pulled out a hamburger. He unwrapped it and stuck it in his mouth. Wakamatsu swallowed it down his throat with loud sound before responding.
"Doing homework, that we were supposed to do. Well Sakurai is helping me, that's why we're together..." The boy pointed at brunette next to him.
Aomine choked on air.
"H-h-h-h-h-homework?" He stuttered and his eyes widened a lot.
Shit. He only has a few days. Oh no, no, no. This is bad, this is really bad.
"Well, yeah, math, history, Japanese, English, man, even from biology..."
He felt his heart freeze instantly. He is doomed. He needs to do that.
But wait, wait, wait. He had Tetsu by his side. Well, he wasn't a genius in many classes, but he was average (in Aomine's opinion, even higher than average), so he can ask him for help. And with this they could spend more time. Yeah! That was a perfect plan!
"Ah, thank you!" Daiki patted Wakamatsu's back.
The blonde headed boy stopped with his mouth open wide. Very wide. He could see all his teeth. Yack!
"Close your mouth. I don't have to see what you ate!"
Wakamastu closed his mouth but his eyes still were full of wonder.
"Sakurai, is Aomine having a fever. He is being nicer than ever. He even thanked me for something!?"
"I don't know! I'm sorry, I haven't even touched him!" The brunette next to him frowned apologetically and bowed.
Ah man, always the same.
Aomine sighed. Talking with them made him very tired. He wanted to lay down and sleep. For an hour, maybe two.
He saw the entrance to the court in the distance. His heart beat faster.
At the same time, he felt a shiver on his spine. He quickly looked around. The only thing he could see was a crowd. He even didn't know for what or who he was looking for. But this feeling...
He gulped and returned to staring at his way.
"What happened?"
"Nothing." He answered, maybe too fast. Well, but it was true. Nothing happened. So what was this weird sensation, this uncomfortable feeling inside of him?
He must brush it off for now.
"I'm staying here!" He said to his teammates.
Wakamatsu stared at him, then he leaned to look behind the tanned boy and blinked.
"Am I seeing Kuroko?" He asked.
Daiki sighed.
"Yes, you do!"
He could see him? Weird. Ah yes, The misdirection of Kuroko won't work against Touou. Never again.
The dark haired boy passed the fence, turned on his heels and waved to them with his hand that was holding the bag.
"I'm going, bye!"
They said goodbye and directed their steps elsewhere.
Well, it was quite nice to meet them here. Not to mention Ryou didn't talk and Wakamatsu talked too much.
"Tetsu!" His yell could be heard on the other side of the street. "Food!"
The said boy yelped (and it sounded so cute...) and turned to look at him. He sighed and placed a hand on his chest.
"Don't scare me like that, Aomine-kun..."
"You do it everytime!"
Tetsu's face turned into a slight grin at that. He was definitely amused at that.
He walked to him and they both sat under a wall. It was pretty cold outside, but surprisingly neither of them complained.
Amine from inside of the bag, took out the vanilla shake. Tetsu's eyes sparkled at that and he gratefully took the drink with a straw. He put it inside.
For himself, he took one of cheeseburgers and unwrapped it.
They ate and drank in silence. But not that uncomfortable one, the other side. The one when you don't have to talk, but still feel good.
He finished his third one when Tetsu finished his shake.
From inside of the package he took an order of fries and put them in Tetsu's hands.
"What is it?" The blunette asked, staring at it like he's never seen fries. He even smelled them.
"Fries, for you..."
"Me? Why?"
Did he need to ask so many questions?
"Just because... You need to eat something proper, not only vanilla shakes..."
Kuroko took one fry and put it in his mouth.
"Thank you then..."
He slowly mumbled on his meal. In the meantime, Aomine started his next cheeseburger.
When Kuroko finished eating, Daiki took out the other order of fries and put them once again in the small hands of Kuroko.
"Another one!?" The smaller boy whined.
"Yes, eat!"
Tetsu said something, but Aomine didn't hear. And maybe it was better that way.
The tanned boy finished his cheeseburgers and turned to look at Tetsu. He had his hand on his mouth like he wanted to vomit.
"What?" He asked.
The blunette turned to him and showed him the rest of the fries.
"I can't eat anymore..."
Aomine sighed and took them. He put some of them in his mouth. He still stared as Tetsu slowly swallow them loudly. He sighed, but not for long.
Aomine took some of the fries and put them, with force, in Tetsu's mouth.
The smaller boy choked on them. His eyes were full of anger. He wanted to tell him something, but, well... Unfortunately, his mouth was full.
He swallowed.
"W-why did you do that?" He shouted. Well shouted on his level. So it was pretty calm. Yeah, but still a yell.
"What?"
"Why did you feed me fries?!"
"Why?"
Because he wanted to. That was just the simple answer. But somehow he couldn't say it. He wondered why?
"No special reason" This was better than nothing.
Aomine took some of the fries and popped them into his own mouth.
Kuroko barely swallowed them. After that he quickly got up and moved away, probably in case Daiki would do this again.
Well... He wanted to.
Daiki stared at the boy's moving body, as his pants slowly rustled, as his jacket moved when he moved his hips. It looked so nice.
Anyone got the ball that lay next to him and threw it at the smaller boy.
"Hey, Tetsu you forgot something!"
He turned. And Aomine knew he made a mistake.
Kuroko put his one foot farther than the other, clenched his hand and did an Ignite Pass on the ball.
The only thing that came to Aomine's mind was run. But he couldn't move any of his muscles.
He closed his eyes and waited for the impact that never happened. It was more like he heard a loud thud and then his head shook. But only that. Nothing hurt and his head was still intact and healthy.
But his heart bumped like crazy. Well, he thought he was gonna die today.
"It's a small reward for what you did."
Did he hear a happy tone?
Tetsu could be scary sometimes.
The tanned boy finally opened his eyes and turned his head. He stared at a perfect small crack and hole a few inches from his head.
"Shit Tetsu, that was scary!"
"It should be..."
Aomine lifted his hand and traced this place with his fingers.
"Did you want to hit my face?"
"No, I was aiming at that place all along..."
Pretty accurate. Well, Tetsu always had custom passes. So why can't he shoot one basket?
Maybe if he...
"Hey, Tetsu..."
The smaller boy tilted his head at him.
"Why don't you try passing at the basket?"
The bluenette definitely didn't understand him. Well, Aomine barely understood himself.
"You know... Make this thing with your hand when you pass. Think that you're not shooting, but passing!"
Well, not very accurate, but whatever...
Tetsu blinked rapidly but nodded.
He stood in front of the basket, held the ball like he wanted to pass and shot.
The ball bounced from the hoop.
"Again!" Aomine ordered.
Kuroko did the same thing. Stood in position, bent his elbow and shot. But it still didn't make it inside.
"One more time!"
Kuroko stared at him, but said nothing.
He stood, took position, bent down and closed his eyes for a second.
Breathed in and out.
Kuroko shot.
The ball flew for a few seconds, bounced against the board and fell inside the hoop.
They stood there speechless. Kuroko for the first time in his life shot a point. It was incredible.
Aomine stared at Tetsu. He had his mouth slightly opened and his eyes wide. They were sparkling and his cheeks were colored a delicious pink.
He looked cute. Like the cutest thing on Earth.
"Wow..." Came from his lips.
Daiki started to laugh maniacally. He had to hold his belly because it started to hurt. The look on Tetsu's face was beautiful.
"Why are you laughing?"
He couldn't see as tears formed in the corner of his eyes.
No, he needed to stop or Kuroko will do an Ignite Pass on his stomach. He didn't want that. No one would.
The tanned boy opened his eyes and took a few deep breaths to calm himself. He then stared at Kuroko's still flushed face and shining eyes.
"Do you like that?" He asked.
"Like what?"
"The feeling of shooting your first hoop."
Tetsu showed him the most beautiful grin in all his entire life. This is when his lips turned up, small wrinkles appeared in the corner and his dimples appeared.
Aomine's heart beat rapidly. Stop, no, don't. Don't appear blush.
Man, this boy would kill him with this.
"Aomine-kun, are you feeling alright?"
"Yes, yes, perfectly fine!"
Daiki turned to look everywhere but not at him. He coughed to clear his throat.
"Try this one more time!"
He felt his cheeks were hot.
Tetsuya smiled. His heart bumped hard, he felt the blood rushing through his veins. So that's how shooting a hoop feels. It was amazing. No wonder Kagami liked to dunk.
His hand still trembled from excitation.
He wanted to do it more, just to see this ball going right through the hoop, hearing the swing of the net, bouncing of a falling ball.
Aomine finally looked at him. Why did he turn around so suddenly?
Ah, he could see red color on his cheeks.
Why had he blushed? From happiness? Amusement? Tetsuya couldn't understand that. But he was happy.
He ran to the ball, took it and started to shoot.
They did this for quite some time. Aomine showed him different ways of bending his elbow, wrist and fingers, just to make him more comfortable.
And when it slowly started to get dark, the ball starting to disappear,
Daiki asked him to do it one more time. And he did.
Using some of his misdirection he somehow made his own shot. Phantom Shot.
He felt happy. Finally, he could make a shot for his team.
"You must work on mastering it until the end of the holidays" Said Aomine.
Tetsuya suddenly felt sad. So, the holidays are ending soon. He really didn't want them to end.
He lifted his head and stared at Aomine's face. He could barely see it, as the sun hid behind a building long ago and street lights shined.
His orbs were weird, a little dark with sadness. Did he think about it too? Because if he did... Then...
"Hey Tetsu!"
His sudden voice startled him.
"Y-yes!" The smaller boy stuttered a little and bit his tongue at the end. Great...
"I just remembered that I had plenty of work to do for school. And you know... I'm pretty dumb and don't listen to lessons. So maybe you want... What I mean is... That … I..."
How he stuttered looked so nice and cute.
Suddenly Tetsuya really wanted to hug him. Would it look weird? Of course it does, but why were his hands moving up? No, stop.
It must have looked weird. He suddenly stopped his hands and put them down.
"With pleasure" He said instead.
Aomine's face grinned.
Ah, this smile, he missed it.
"Doing anything tonight?"
Tetsuya smiled too.
"What are you doing for dinner, then?"
