(A/N:Words cannot express how apologetic I am over not updating this. Lost the muse for this, but I recently found it hiding in plain sight.)
Len felt Gakupo's fingers weave through his hair as they watched the morning news on the TV. The TV was in better shape than one that he would've expected to find in a prison. Though he hadn't ever really thought about prison before he was put in one. His head was quite comfortable in Gakupo's lap, and he was just happy that nobody had given them any looks or said anything. It made it easier for him to not feel embarrassed.
Earlier, when Gakupo had instructed him to lay his head in his lap, Len had given him a look. The word 'no' had been on the tip of his tongue, but then he noticed a rather large and intimidating prisoner watching their exchange.
The other prisoner had sneered as if to say 'if you won't train that bitch properly, then I will.' So Len shut up and did as Gakupo asked.
The dull, droning voices on the TV were making Len's eyelids slowly drop, so he snuggled up closer into Gakupo's stomach, which wasn't firm as a rock, but slightly soft (not that Len would ever tell him that). It wasn't that Gakupo was fat, he was rather trim except for his stomach, which was a bit dough-y.
Len was so caught up in his musings over Gakupo's weight (maybe the purple haired male should lay off the cupcakes that he had been told that they got Fridays for lunch) that he didn't notice the guard standing in the doorway.
"Wake up, Sleeping Beauty." The guard said, making Len sit up. He was the only man (yes, man) in the room who could be called that (except maybe Gakupo, but he wasn't dozing off). "Yes, you Kagamine. Get up. You have a visitor."
Len glanced towards Gakupo, who frowned. Gakupo must've taken his look as one asking for permission, because he nodded. Len stood up, his cheeks burning at Gakupo allowing him to go. "Who is it?" He asked the guard.
The man just rolled his eyes, and clasped a pair of handcuffs onto him, before leading him through some hallways to a white door with a single window in it that Len could barely see through. Visiting room was emblazoned at the top in some ridiculous font that didn't belong in a prison.
"No touching your visitor. Your visit will be monitored. Any suspicious activity and you will be punished. Don't even make us think you're doing something right, or you'll go to Isolation, and I'm sure your 'cell mate' would get real upset with you. Understand?"
Len nodded. Had his sister come to visit him? He hurried into the room when the guard opened the door.
And there was his sister, sitting at the plastic table, gripping the edges of it.
"Rin." He breathed out, taking in her pale appearance and frightened blue eyes. "You're here." He wanted to run over and hug her, but the guard had told him not to, so he settled for sitting in the chair opposite her.
"It's scary in here." She said quietly, wrapping her arms around herself. "How can you stand it?"
"It's not so bad." Len gave her a weak smile. He wanted to reach out and take her hands in his so badly. "I get fed three times a day, and get an hour for break."
Rin seemed on the verge of tears. "Has anybody hurt you?" She asked, her voice cracking.
Len brought his legs up so that he could sit on them. He wasn't going to tell her about Xaito and the shower incident. No. He couldn't. She would get worried. "Nope! Have you gone back to college yet?"
"Not yet. I'm scared. People think you're a murderer."
"Shh. It's okay. I'll be out in seven more years."
"Can't I wait until you get out to start college back up?" She asked, looking at him with childish hope in her eyes like things could go back to normal.
"No. You need to get a degree and get a job." Rin had always wanted to be an elementary school teacher. "It will be okay."
"But it's so hard without you there! Every day I want to hurt someb-"
"Rin! Now isn't the time for that." Len snapped.
Rin froze, and just stared at him in shock. Len never raised his voice when he spoke to her. Tears brimmed in her eyes, and Len cringed at knowing that it was he who caused her to cry. He was the one who comforted her whenever that man hurt her. He was her safety.
"Rin, I-"
But she jumped up from her chair, and pressed a little button on some buzzer like contraption near the door. "I'm ready to leave now." She said, her voice shaking. And a guard opened the door, ushering her out, while he took Len back into the prison.
The guard, a different one from earlier, took him back to his cell. Len was glad that Gakupo wasn't in there so that he could cry for his sister in peace, without Gakupo trying to comfort him. He didn't deserve to be comforted.
When Gakupo finally came back to his cell, Len had stopped crying. Gakupo either ignored his red eyes, or he just didn't notice them.
"Who came to visit you?"
"My sister." Len dully replied, fiddling with his blanket up on the top bunk.
Gakupo stared at him for a while, but ultimately decided not to push it. He just sat down on his bunk, and pulled out a book.
Len let a few more tears silently fall, before wiping them away. He would call to make up with Rin the next day. And she would forgive him, for how could she not? He was in prison for her, she could forgive him for raising his voice just a bit.
