Disclaimer: I do not own anything :'(

After much travelling, Percy finally reached his fathers' palace. It still amazed him how all the different types of marine life called him 'My Lord'. However he wasn't sure what to think anymore. The Gods had ruined his life, and this wasn't the first occasion that they had done it. He just couldn't fathom why he was still talking to them, why he was even associating with them. He had to remind himself that he was a God. He could do anything and the other Gods didn't have complete control of him anymore.

"Percy, my boy, you are finally here" Poseidon greeted him when Percy walked into his throne room.

"Yeah, sorry about that, but not all of us have amazing Godly powers" he scowled

"I suppose we should work on that first then, shouldn't we?" he considered

"Yeah" he agreed

There was an awkward silence for a few seconds until Poseidon suggested "How about we make our way to my office?"

Percy nodded and followed him through the halls of his palace, passing an angry Amphitrite on the way who made an effort to glare especially at Percy.

"She hates me" Percy sighed flopping down onto the sofa in his fathers office.

"She'll get used to you eventually, she'll have to" the Sea God chuckled.

Percy nodded, once again reminding himself of the predicament he was in.

"Anyway..shall we get started?" Percy asked.

"Yes yes, now, so..teleportation, apparition whatever you wish to call it, can be done in many ways. The most common ways for the Gods is the blinding light which kills any mortals that see it- can't have them spreading around that they've seen us, can we?" he chuckled.

"And wiping their memory is too hard for you guys?" Percy sarcastically remarked

"Where's the fun in that?" Poseidon replied.

"No, there is no fun in that, but it saves somebody's partner, friend or family member getting killed" Percy told him

"Okay…" Poseidon drawled "Moving on..another reason why we use it is because it doesn't take much energy to do"

"Right" Percy nodded "So what are the other ways?"

"I'll explain the theory and technique and then tomorrow we can work on the practical side of things, of course you'll be staying here for tonight so you may want to Iris message Sophie later" Poseidon suggested

"Oh" Percy sighed disappointed to hear that it would take that long "Are you sure we can't do all that today?"

"You're an extraordinary person Percy, don't ever doubt that, but this is extremely important to master. One night away from your daughter won't kill you" he told him

"I know- but I want to be with her at the moment after all that has happened with my mum…..you wouldn't understand" Percy replied. Haven't the Gods already kept him away from his family long enough? Percy knew it was lucky that he even agreed to come here without his daughter.

"Of course I understand Perseus" Poseidon growled and Percy knew he was in trouble because of the use of his full name "You don't know how hard it was for me not being able to be there with you for the first twelve years of your life! Or how many times I had to sit back and do nothing whilst you nearly died! And don't even get me started on when you decided to run away for sixteen years"

'I'm sorry-" Percy tried to say but he carried on.

"Sixteen years Perseus! I didn't know if you were dead or alive and it scared me so much when I had to ask Hades if you were in the Underworld. I know that you didn't want this, and it was selfish of us and most importantly me, to force it upon you but you don't know how much I don't want to see you go. I dreaded you going out on those battlefields, I didn't want to see my favourite child die! So don't you dare tell me that I don't understand Percy-just don't" he shouted but Percy knew that his anger wasn't directed at him, he was just letting out feeling that had been bottled up for too long.

Percy then remembered the conversation he had with Apollo..

"Hey Apollo?" he called out while walking out the bathroom.

"Yeah?" he replied not taking his eyes off the television.

"Is this my shirt? Like from sixteen years ago?" Percy asked.

"Yeah, your Dad kept the clothes that you left from camp and he dropped them off here when we first found you" Apollo replied.

"Okay...because this is not creepy at all...did you guys actually wash this?" he questioned.

"I think Poseidon did actually, he got so upset when you left that he went into 'parent' mode and just kept washing all the things you left behind, it was quite sad really, and he also had this picture of you that he carried around, now he just keeps it in his wallet or in his pocket" Apollo answered turning his focus back to the television.

"Right" Percy said not knowing what to say.

'Although he wasn't physically there for me growing up, he did try his best to look out for me and I have always taken my laid-back relationship with him for granted. I knew that I really hurt my Dad when I left, but I guess I have eternity to make it up to him' Percy mused to himself 'I know the others don't generally care for me, but he does'.

"I am sorry Father" Percy apologised sincerely and bowed his head a little to show it.

Poseidon pulled Percy into a bone crushing hug but he didn't complain because he knew he needed it. He needed to know that Percy was physically there and that it wasn't some cruel delusion sent by the Fates.

"Putting that aside for now" Percy coughed awkwardly "Should we get started on that theory now?"

"Er..yeah" Poseidon agreed pulling away

"So, do I need a notepad and pen to take down notes?" Percy asked sarcastically already knowing that he and his father both knew that he had never taken notes on anything in his life.

Poseidon laughed "Who do you take me for? Athena?! Percy, I'm hurt"

"Lets' just do this" Percy laughed, feeling better about his new life already, even if he was only on good terms with his Father.

"Ok the theory behind apparition…"

Hours passed and Percy had to literally pry his eyes open just to stay awake.

'I swear half of the things he was telling me I didn't actually need to know and most of it he was just repeating. I didn't think that there was this much to know..the rest of them seem to be able to just leave with a snap of their fingers' Percy thought bitterly.

"Ok, I'm guessing that is enough for today but you get the gist of it, I'll show you to your room then?" Poseidon asked.

Percy nodded but then asked "Wait…my room?"

Poseidon nodded "Of course! I had it specially built for you"

When they reached the room, Percy was shocked to say the least. He had a million questions running through his mind but none would voice themselves. The room definitely had a sea-shell, underwater theme to it and Percy wouldn't have expected anything different in his fathers palace. The weird thing was the room had everything he loved in it, pictures of the people he considered family, posters of his favourite bands, a mini-fridge which he could only guess would be filled with junk food that Chiron would not be proud of. He looked around in awe and went as far as to open the wardrobe when he found loads of clothes. Some new and some he recognised from when he was younger.

"Wow, thanks Dad- I love it!" Percy smiled turning in a full spin in the middle of the room

"Thats great! I told Triton that you would still have the same tastes as you did when you were actually sixteen. I'm glad I didn't decide to change anything" Poseidon smirked feeling very proud of himself and making a mental note to boast about it to his heir later

"What do you mean by that?" Percy asked confused "..Wait, you actually built this room when I was sixteen?"

He sighed and sat down on the bed, gesturing for Percy to join him- which he did.

"When I heard of what the others wanted to do to you, I originally planned for you to live down here with me, out of their reach. Therefore, even if it wasn't exactly what you wanted- it was still something- I planned everything out, even Triton got involved and said he would help. However when I got round to actually asking you if you would be okay with it, you had already ran away. It wasn't the greatest plan anyway, there were lots of flaws…" he trailed off.

"Thanks Dad" Percy said sincerely, amazed that his father had actually gone to great lengths to try and find a way to make him happy.

"And yet it still wasn't enough" Poseidon growled "I should have done more I know, look all I want is for you to be happy, that is all I have ever wanted, granted that this is not the life that you wanted but you can still make the most of it!" he reasoned "You do have the right to hate us, to hate me, and I know it is selfish of me for wanting to keep you around forever but you've got to understand, we are selfish people-"

Percy cut him off by saying "I forgive you, Dad"

"What?" Poseidon asked forgetting the rest of his rant because of his shock. He thought it would take Percy hundreds of years, thousands even, to even think about wanting to talk to him again, but here he was doing the exact opposite. Poseidon knew that Percy would never stop shocking him throughout eternity.

"All of the others, they will have to make it up to me, and it will take a long time to do that but..I forgive you- I need you" Percy told him truthfully telling him the thoughts that had been plaguing him for a while "I'm practically alone except for Sophie, and it's scaring me. I trust you, but not the others"

Poseidon smiled at Percy, happy to know that his son had so much faith in him and he was determined not to ruin it this time, he would do everything in his power to make Percy happy, and not wanting to show his tears to his son he said "I'll leave you to make that call now, thank you Percy, you have no idea how much that means to me. I'm glad to know that I have regained your trust"

"You never lost it" Percy interjected knowing that his father was probably tearing himself apart for not being able to protect him.

"Thank you" Poseidon nodded "I guess I'll leave you to it, you know where everything is if you need anything"

Percy watched Poseidon snap his fingers and then leave, he looked around the room to see what had changed and noticed a seawater fountain in the corner, just like the one he had in his cabin back at camp. He walked over to it, thankful to already see a few drachmas in there because he had no clue on how to acquire some.

He picked one up and recited "O, Iris, please show me Sophie Jackson"

He threw in the drachma and an image appeared. Once it cleared up he saw his daughter on her bed drawing.

"Hey baby girl" he greeted

Sophie jumped and then looked to the source of the voice "Dad!"

"How did your day go?" Percy asked her

She shrugged and replied meekly "It was fine, nothing special, how about yours?"

Percy knew that something was wrong but he didn't want to push it, he knew that Sophie would come to him when she was ready "The same really, just to let you know I won't be coming back tonight as my father still has some more to teach me, but I'll be back as soon as I can tomorrow and then we'll discuss things, ok?"

"Yeah, sure. Have fun!" she smiled

"You too" he replied "Night, don't stay up too late, love you"

"I won't" she laughed and Percy knew that she would just to be rebellious "Love you too Dad"

He swiped through the message, already missing his daughter but he knew that if he stayed talking to her longer he would just swim up to the surface and go straight back up to Olympus. He was scared that something would happen to her and he couldn't lose any more of his family, he knew he wouldn't be able to handle it. Annabeth was lost, long ago, when she agreed to become immortal. Paul wouldn't even be able to look him in the eye anymore and his mother…his mother was dead. The one person who he could have gone to for advice about childcare-about anything! The one person he could rely on was gone and he didn't know how to cope with that, he just had to.

Wow, please don't kill me! I know this is pretty short but seriously I don't know where to go haha! I have been getting other stories off of my chest so hopefully when my mind is clear I can just concentrate on this one! Now i must warn you guys I have 2 weeks of freedom and then it is GCSE exam time! Scary! Haha so I will be doing a lot of studying for my exams but I will try and update as soon as possible!
