Chapter 12

Wendy giggled at Ash's and Freckles's bickering. Ever since they left the guild, the two were still arguing. Doranbolt wondered if the double Wendy knew she wasn't the real Wendy. He didn't really like the idea of there being another Wendy, he felt like he was just replacing her. Nothing could ever replace the real Wendy to him. He wanted to ask Quinn a few questions, since he was the one who made the double Wendy, he might be able to help him understand her more.

Once the group stopped in town for the night, they went their own ways, promising to all meet up later at the motel. Doranbolt wanted to ask Quinn, but he had already took off somewhere. He felt something tug on his sleeve, then looked at the beaming Wendy. He was confused until she pointed towards the ice cream stand. Wendy had stuck with Doranbolt the whole day, the others tried to talk with her, but ended up confusing her or scaring her. The thing was she didn't try to talk to Quinn, and he didn't try to talk to her either. Even though he was the one who made her, he figured they would talk or at least say hi. Deciding on clearing his head, he took Wendy to an outdoor restaurant. He couldn't help but smile every time she did.

After they were done with dinner they headed back to the motel, and met up everyone else. Wendy sat down on the sofa in the lobby, and said she would wait there until Doranbolt got all of their stuff in their rooms. Walking towards the elevator Doranbolt stopped Quinn, "Hey Quinn! I have something to ask if you don't mind."

"Uh sure I guess, what is it?"

"Well I have been wondering... But does Wendy know you made her? And why won't you talk to her?"

"It's complicated Doranbolt, she would realize she's isn't real if she talked to me and I don't know if she does realize she's not real. This Wendy is a copy yes, but this Wendy has her own mind and conscience, so she's not the real Wendy in the inside."

Doranbolt looked over his shoulder to see Wendy already asleep on the sofa. The real Wendy's first guild master could do the same magic as Quinn, but it was a bit different. It was ironic that her guild was just like the copy of Wendy, and here she is again from the same magic. Looking back he nodded at Quinn and headed up to his room to put his stuff down first. Everyone had their rooms next to each other, so Doranbolt figured Wendy had the room to the left of him. Walking towards the room Doranbolt bumped into Ash.

"Sorry man I wasn't paying attention.. Wait why were you in Wendy's room?"

"What ya talking about? That's MY room. Wait don't tell me," Ash started to laugh, "Quinn didn't tell you? You and Wendy are sharing a room duh! Hahaha! That look on your face! I wish I had a camera!"

"... You're kidding right?... Right?"

"Nope not one bit, haha, have fun Doranbolt," Ash winked at Doranbolt before taking a turn around the corner.

"You're so dead... All of you."

Looking down at Wendy, he wasn't sure if he should leave her on the sofa or not. He knew it wasn't right to leave her alone on a couch, but he couldn't take the thought of them sharing a room. At the same time she was already asleep, so it shouldn't be to bad right? He wasn't sure but still picked her up, and went back up the elevator. There was sweat going down the side of his head. There shouldn't be anything to be nervous about, but he was. Wendy moved a bit and sighed out loud, meanwhile Doranbolt started to panic. Once she stopped moving he took another deep breath as the elevator doors opened. He quickly went down the hallway, and into the room putting Wendy down on the bed.

His right hand was still under Wendy's head when she reached for his other arm. Barely opening her eyes she spoke in a sleepy voice, "Mest-san don't leave, stay with me till I fall asleep, please."

He thought she was pretty cute half asleep, "Okay I will, I'll be sitting right here okay."

"Can you sleep next to me? I know it sounds weird, but I'll feel better if you did."

Refusing the girl was a hard thing to do so he laid down next to her, but kept his distance. He heard her giggle, "can I ask question?"

"I though you wanted to go back to sleep?"

"Why are you so nervous right now?"

"... Reasons... Why aren't you sleeping yet?"

She hummed, "Reasons, mostly because I missed talking to you that's all."

He wanted to ask her if she knew that she wasn't the real Wendy, but he didn't want to make her sad either.

"Wendy... Can I ask you something now?"

"Mmhmm."

"Do... Do you know that.. You aren't.. I mean do you think that you aren't... Real?"

"If you mean that I'm a copy of another person.. Then yes I do know. I'm myself, but at the same time I'm someone else. All I know is my name and who you are, but I don't know who I really am," Wendy started cry.

"Wendy please don't cr-."

"Don't... Just tell me who I am to you please, if I know who you are then you must know right?"

"I used to be your partner in a guild, there was accident at an island. I tried saving you and everyone else, but I couldn't. I'm not sure if all of you died or if you're alive somewhere out there. I.. Uh... Well that happened like seven years ago... And well I liked you... Kinda... I don't know why but it feels better to tell you than the real you."

"Wow Mest I didn't take you to be that kind of a person hehe, well if it was seven years ago then we were closer in age then now right?"

"Yeah, I was 17 and you should have been 12, but it still seems wrong."

"I think the real me wouldn't have mind to be with someone like you. Then again you would be my first boyfriend. It seems a little scary, but thrilling at the same time."

"You sure about that? I think she would have been shocked to hear me tell her. I'm not sure if she would forgive me for what I did too."

"If I'm caring and kind, then won't she be the same?"

"Yeah, it would."

"Then, she would forgive you, because I know you would mean a lot to her."

"Thank you."

"Yeah," Wendy scooted herself closer until her head rest on his shoulder.

Doranbolt laid still not sure what he should do. He felt like he was cheating on the real Wendy in someway even though she's next to him. Then again this Wendy in front of him is someone else who doesn't know who she is, and why she's feeling the way she is. This Wendy fully accepted his feelings, if it was the real Wendy it might be bad to bring it up. Quinn gave him a chance for closure, and he's not going to waste it either.

He sighed out loud wrapping his arms around her. She snuggles closer to him and looked up at him, "I'm sorry for what happened to the real me, but I'm here now.. I know I can never replace her.. But even for a little bit, just let me be her."

Closing his eyes, he nodded and look back into her eyes. Every shade of brown moved in her pupils, if she was crying or not, there was a sparkle in them he always loved. Her smile help him clear his head when he needed it the most. Even though she was weak, she gave him strength she didn't have. He loved her, even though he knew it was wrong, he still did in his heart, because she showed him the good side of life. He could feel all the emotions he had been holding back for her. Striking her cheek, he looked deep into her warm eyes.

He brought her face closer to his as he leaned in. He could feel her breathe against his lips. No matter how much he tried to hide it, he wanted to feel her warmth and her love for him. He didn't move any closer or farther to her lips as he held her face. Slowly he put one hand in her hair, feeling the silkiness of it. His other hand moved towards her chin bringing it even more closer. She started to close her eyes waiting for the feeling of his lips. He should have been gentle, but he wasn't, he crashed his lips onto hers. He wanted to feel her warm lips, even though she seemed very inexperienced in kissing. She didn't mind him being rough, all she could feel was her blood boiling as his lips moved on hers. Doranbolt wanted more, he wanted to kiss her forever, and erase the pain he held all the years she was gone. He lost himself in her that he forgot how fragile she is compare to the other woman he had been with. He let go of his tight grip, and slowed down his kiss, then all of sudden he just stopped.

Wendy was taking quick gasps of air, even though he pulled away she could still feel the hotness from him mouth on hers. She didn't know how much he loved the real version of herself, until now. She could feel his guilt and pain in kissing her. She wasn't hurt by it, but was happy because the real Wendy would be happy to know even if it was a copy of herself, Doranbolt knew he wasn't doing the right thing for the person he loves.

Doranbolt let go of Wendy and put his arms over his face. He wasn't going to cry, he was just trying to control all the emotions he had bottled up. It took a lot for him to speak, "I'm sorry I couldn't save you and everyone else. I'm sorry I did things I know you wouldn't approve of. I'm sorry I couldn't say and do the things that I wanted to. After all these years I couldn't let you go, and now I think I'm ready to let go. I want to move forward and live my life for and everyone else in Fairy Tail. Even though you aren't the real Wendy, you still are a part of who she is."

Wendy looked at him and placed her hands on his chest, "Being a part of her, isn't her. When you see her again, tell her yourself, maybe even about your feelings. I promise she will understand."

He grabbed one of her hands and squeezed it. He didn't know when he fell asleep, but he did. It wasn't until the middle of the night he woke up again. He didn't try to move, but he looked around the room, then to the person next to him. Wendy had wrapped herself around him, her legs on top of his, and most of her body was on top of him. All he did was wrap his arms around her waist and went back into sleep.

Ash and the other three guys slowly opened Doranbolt's door, and tiptoed into the room. Ash was the first one to see how Doranbolt and Wendy were laying on the bed.

"See I told you guys something did happen."

"Do you think that they.. Uh they.. You know. Did it."

"I don think so, bolt isn't that kind of guy anymore, it just looks like they talked and afterwards went to sleep."

"This might be the geek talkin' but does Doranbolt go for the Loli girls? You know from manga and anime."

"Let's just get out of here before they wake up. I don't want to disturb the new couple, haha."

"It's like I told you, a wonderful black and white movie. They look like they could spend the rest of their lives in that bed just enjoy the closeness of each other. Ahhh, so beautiful."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's go lover boy, let them sleep."

Doranbolt opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was her sleeping face. Her navy blue hair like a fan spread out on the pillow and on part of her face. He reached out to move the hair covering her face. He smiled and held her again. No matter how much he tried, he could never let go of Wendy. Giving up hope on her returning is something he couldn't do. Somehow that weird feeling started to change.

"Wendy... Once I get you back, I'll never leave you again."
