12 Hours, 10 Liars: A Pretty Little Liars Fanfiction Story

Closer to Closure:

That night, in a mostly cloudless sky…

A dark blue edged mostly dark gray private jet is flying high up. Pale white superstrong electrical insulation shows from the center of the wings and cockpit window frames, acting as a powerful blocker for most electronic signals. From within, the walls are in a mostly black motorcycle engine style between upward gray tubes. The main double seats have the good Pretty Little Liars in them, with Alison and Emily further back. They now all wear dark blue and black T-shirts and jeans, the coats they borrowed returned to Canada.

Among them is a medium dark brown curly haired woman familiar like to Dr. Sullivan, with black jeans and a black T-shirt on. Yet interestingly, she is a agent codenamed Anna Cablewish. Right above a green X-Files logo, her shirt says in white letters, "what happens in Area 51 stays in Area 51." At the cockpit controls is a mostly bright red soda machine shaped robot, piloting the jet with twenty very long jointed robot fingers.

Earlier, at the Panera Bread internet café…

At a terminal, Hanna was chatting with Caleb, "sure this is not Camp True South of Army Boots?"

Caleb replied back, "Hanna, I've slept out with you: I know what I'm talking about with Dangerous Minds." Hanna felt a tap on her shoulder.

Hanna said, "just a minute! You'll have your turn soon: God!" She chatted online, "I'll take your word for it, but I should probably get off before some cop makes me do it." Hanna and Caleb exchanged goodbyes, then logged off. Hanna got up and turned around, realizing in great shock who was to the side. It was Anna Cablewish, holding up a gold CIA badge.

In a low tone, she introduced herself, "Anna Cablewish, director of the CIA." Anna put away her badge. Hanna started to wonder, "sure this can't w…?"

Anna added calmly, "I don't want to make a scene, and I don't think you do either. This way, please." She led Hanna out through the glass front doors, who was somewhat confused by her tone. Hanna wondered, "and what did I do to…?!"

On the nearby parking lot, Anna shed some light on things, "unlike Agent Cooper, I triple check everything on my criminal radar. I'm personally escorting all of you back to Rosewood: Safely." Hanna slightly chuckled, "about time too." They kept walking, heading back for Glass-Cards.

Presently…

Hanna was recently drinking iced water on a pull out tray in front of her. Without her silver flask to add to the water though, she stops drinking water out of being too much reminded of the bittersweet beginnings of becoming the Queen Bee of Rosewood. Meanwhile, Aria inquires somewhat nervous, "and Dr. Sullivan?" Anna answers, "she may be off the records, but we go where the law can't: I'm sure we'll find her."

Hanna sighs heavily, unable to hold back around Anna, "I wish I wasn't sober." Spencer whispers harshly, "Hanna!"

Mostly collected, Anna mostly assures, "guys! Calm down. Sigh. I can only guess at how you've all been abused and hurt, but as hard as it may be for you to believe this…you're not being treated as criminals anymore." Aria sighs and Spencer is quiet, both in mixed relief.

Hanna figures, "sure: Our parents will do that for you anyway! Moderate sigh. I wish this was just one very long nightmare I can just sell off. But…" Spencer briefly closes her eyes, trying to get that nightmare image out of her mind. Hanna has some tears before saying, "…I can't."

Anna points out, "I don't know jack about your parents, but with the measures your parents have taken to try to find you…you shouldn't worry. And even if you should, here's my number." She takes out a dark blue card with the mostly bright white and dark red signature CIA eagle on it.

Aria says, "thank you: It's more than the police in Rosewood did for us, that's for sure." She takes Anna's spare CIA calling card, settling Hanna and Spencer's worries. In the midst of CIA director Anna's talking, Emily and Alison are in the same double seat more shaken over their own feelings. A fold out flat screen is propped up from the black carpeted floor, in a R like shape in front of the two good liars. It shows British news.

Emily sighs, "Alison, how can you watch the story of Linda Norgrove's death…and not have tears?"

Alison slightly chuckles, "I could say the same about you…but that doesn't mean you're a evil bitch. Moderate sigh. Years ago, watching the news…calmed me. Therapy psychos tried everything else…slight chuckle…then decided the hell with it and just let me watch them. A month later, I was considered calm enough to watch anything else. But I mostly just watched news, until I moved in with family in Rosewood. As Queen Bee of Rosewood, I…made up my own news to keep tragedy from happening again. And yet…" She stops, near tears.

With some tears, Emily realizes, "tragedy happened to you…and us." Alison closes her eyes, "in the locker room that day, I…lied against hope. I just couldn't let mys..." She cries lowly with her head down, too shaken to cover her tears. Emily holds Alison's hand, teary eyed in silent forgiveness.

Around Rosewood, over the next few days…

In the late night of the good Pretty Little Liars's return home, their parents are for the most part too much asleep to hear them come in. Spencer's father and Emily's mom though are up that late, and welcome their own daughters back. With help from Anna Cablewish's jet, Emily came back to her parents in their pale white stone Texas house. She knew they were the most worried about her. Emily's mom hugs Emily, sighing hard with teary eyed relief, "I…thought you were dead for days." Emily partly assures her, "I hurt, but…I'll live on."

On day 1 of the return, Alison in her mom's pale brown apartment mostly avoids being near her. Fully realizing her own mom has seen her on the A videos, Alison can't help but be greatly embarrassed. Alison mostly stays in front of the TV sleeping or watching the news, with her saddened mom respecting that she wants to be left alone.

The other mostly solemn good liars are spending some quality time with their parents, thanks to their secrets mostly being buried by the short version of the A's from Spencer's father and Alison's mom. Emily is expected to be back late in the afternoon, because her parents realize she is holding up well despite the A's related troubles.

Aria finds out that several letters over three days came for her in the mail. They're from worried Rosewood High students. One of them is from a worried Mona, but what shocks Aria more is an anonymous letter buried in the pile. On her bed, Aria finds a postcard and a gold credit card on top of a folded document. With some tear drips on it, the postcard says, "I know you'll always hate me…but I'm sorry. -Jackie." Aria mutters, "what fresh torme…nt…?!" She unfolds the document, realizing in teary eyes this is Ezra Fitz's Last Will and Testament.

The part of the will that catches Aria's attention the most reads as follows, "when I die sleeping next to my love Aria Rose in New York, all the money left from my job and The Night Life goes to her." Aria realizes this was planned last month, with a fake last name meant for legal reasons. She checks the will again. And it all comes together: The Night Life was a book Ezra Fitz was working on for many months, and meeting published author Simone gave him good connections and advice that he would most likely need to get the book finished and publishable. That is, if it could.

But soon after, Aria searches online to find The Night Life turning out to be an upcoming book for early November. The cover has a mostly black and white city, spilt between day and night by a lightning bolt. The blurb reveals it's about a teenage revolution in a big city called Nightfall, in light of most of the adults being wiped out by a hormone related disease. The release would be in a few weeks. Aria in mixed feelings notices something else on the postcard: A bank account login under Aria Rose. Remembering her times with Ezra Fitz, Aria sighs deeply, "better than disrespecting your death wish." And so she nervously prepares for The Night Life's royalties.

Meanwhile, Hanna stays home to help herself collect herself from the saddening thoughts that have fully caught up with her. Her own mom asks her what could've brought her to ruin Tom's wedding. So Hanna tells her about Dr. Sullivan being held hostage by the A's…or so it seemed to most of the good liars before the set up by the A's got them arrested. Hanna's mom sighs heavily, "Hanna, I forgive you for doing almost anything to save a life. But…I'm not sure Tom can." She tries to explain the story to Tom, but he angrily refuses to believe it and accuses her of defending Hanna. Tom then hangs up. Now he has no Isabel to talk to…nor even Hanna's mom.

Mona leaves messages all morning. Hanna reluctantly starts going to answer the door, knowing Mona is there. Hanna's mom points out, "and if Mona wants to throw a party?" Hanna partly assures, "then she can be thrown out." Before Mona can say much, Hanna implies that Mona may want to be up in her room to hear the truth about her boyfriend Noel. Mona in great confusion follows Hanna to her room, where Hanna tells her all about Noel's part in the A's.

Realizing Mona isn't believing it, Hanna inquires, "did he even give a damn to call in the last few days?" Mona slightly chuckles, "no, but he cal…" In sharp realization, Mona pauses. Hanna slightly nods like it's obvious. If Noel could call her that easily, it means he wasn't really dead when he sent the ALevel video and could've assured Mona then and there he wasn't really dead. A teary eyed Mona mutters lowly, "that sick bastard, playing games with us all this time!"

The next day, Hanna stays home. Hoping to help her feel better, Hanna's mom introduces Hanna to Caleb's lawyer Gabriel Holbrook. He is familiar like to a younger Garrett, with frontless medium black hair and a black business suit on. Gabriel partly assures, "don't worry: I'll see to it that Jason and Brimstinger's gang…or whatever his name is…face justice." Hanna brings up, "I'm sure you will, but what about the other A's?" Gabriel moderately sighs, "I don't like that they got away from the country either, but I'll do what I can here." Hanna solemnly thanks him.

In school, Emily comes across Samara near the outside benches. She apologizes for not realizing sooner Emily wanted to protect her from Emily's own troubles. Emily thanks her, but starts pointing out somewhat nervously that she's going to date someone else. Samara quickly guesses it'll be Maya. Emily slightly chuckles, "no: My first crush…Alison." A concerned Samara checks, "that crazy Queen of Quo?! You sure she…?" Emily mostly assures, "she's getting mental help, Samara: The good kind. After that, we can date."

After school, Mona realizes her fashion hacking program has been stolen by Noel through downloading. She mutters angrily, "hack jock!"

That night, Hanna's mom finds herself trying to drink her sadness away at the Apple Rose Grille's bar. Then Ezra Fitz's friend Hardy finds Hanna's mom there, both mournful of Ezra Fitz and police officer Barry's deaths. It's not long before they talk of Rosewood and exchange numbers.

Meanwhile, Spencer drives out to a black Darkette County apartment. She found out Melissa moved there recently, and tries to apologize to her for all the times they hurt each other. A teary eyed Melissa surprisingly says, "oh come on, Spencer: The rest of the world has practically told me I'm a bitchy fool!" Spencer tells her lowly, "haven't we hurt each other enough?" Melissa hugs a saddened Spencer, crying like mad over her shoulder.

On day 3, Hanna returns to school. Some students silently pity her, some just laugh in passing. The news of the good Pretty Little Liars being the A's victims has already spread across Rosewood High. Instead of being with the other good liars in school, Hanna stays closer to a still quite upset Mona to help her feel better. In the halls though, a very shocked Hanna comes face to face with a apologetic Sean. He has realized Hanna was blackmailed into dancing with Lucas. Sean adds, "if I only sa…" Hanna interrupts harshly, "you know what you are? You're Amber's bastard!" She walks off angrily.

In a mostly pale white mental hospital that isn't Radley Sanitarium, Alison is talking to Emily over the black phone. Alison is getting most of the latest news for the other Pretty Little Liars including Emily, helping herself worry less about herself. Alison is taking down notes for the third day in her diary from home, with news for the two earlier days already noted down. After hearing about Hanna, Alison slightly chuckles, "guess Sean got no real game anymore." Emily moderately sighs, "nor Ben." Alison partly assures her, "if I twist your love again…heavy sigh…you can trick me into getting drunk."

Three months later…

In Cleveland Ohio, there's a mostly dark blue neon lined nightclub called The Brew. Some familiar faces sit in the crowd, among big dark blue lava lamp like tubes. And onstage is Aria as a popular self funded singer-songwriter called Aria Rose, singing Bless Myself for the crowd on and off the cameras. She wears a deceptive medium dark brown haired wig, a red ribbon liked beaded necklace, a dark purple half shouldered gown, and a gold grinder styled belt. Behind Aria is her own black and gold rock styled band. She finishes the song on a roar of cheers.

Aria thanks the crowd, then goes down some very dark stairs to a dressing room. Near the stairs are a few highly trained bodyguards in black suits, paid right out of Aria Rose's pockets. With herself barely seen in The Brew's very darkly lit dressing room, Zoey is to the side of a mirror. Aria wonders, "hey, my first and best girlfriend: How goes finance?" In nervousness, Zoey slightly chuckles, "teaching me to go poker pro was way easier than going stock market pro."

Inches from her, Aria assures, "relax: You're doing great." They make out, while slowly pulling away. A little more relaxed, Zoey adds, "thanks. A room for two at the Thornhill Lodge?" Aria figures, "you bet." Zoey starts getting out her mostly unseen cell phone. Aria starts getting a fancy dark green purse.

At the same time, the other good liars including a mostly recovered Alison are sitting at one of many weird tilted silver couch like tables. They've joined Aria for her soon to end winter tour. They covered it up from their parents by telling them that they've been invited to visit Aria's very responsible millionaire cousin Aria Rose for their winter vacation. With her unseen cell phone in hand, Alison laughs, "Little Miss Fame Leech is about to have a fashion sucker."

Hanna chuckles, "mousey roots Meredith? Let me see." Alison is about to show Hanna the lit up cell phone screen, when Spencer puts a hand over Alison's. Glaring at Alison, Spencer starts to tell her, "Alison, don…"

Emily mutters lowly, "Spencer…!" Alison glares back at Spencer. Alison insists lowly to Emily, "darling, I got this. None of us even like her…or her island towel boy Noel!" Hanna remarks, "from your own textbooks…second!"

Spencer reluctantly lets go, sighing deeply, "fine: Doesn't mean I have to get arrested too." She walks off to the bar to get some more drinks.

Emily sighs, "sorry: I just didn't want…" Hanna figures, "yeah, yeah: All's well that ends in manicures. Can I look now?" Alison slightly chuckles, "kind of like hearing myself." She shows Hanna and Emily her cell phone screen. On it is a hacked red curtain like fashion line file blocked from being emailed to Meredith, and a hack black garbage bag fashion line file sent to Meredith instead.

Hanna and Emily laugh hard at Alison's dirty trick. Aria and Zoey are just coming out towards them, but getting through the crowd of fans is really slowing them and their bodyguards down. Three figures come to Alison's table, as though time itself takes a sidestep. Hearing them, Alison subtly puts down her cell phone to alert Emily and Hanna. Turning to the figures, Alison illuminates, "FBI: Glad you could make it." Emily is speechless, unsure what to think.

Two of the figures look very similar, both with long black curly hair and jet black biker coat styled outfits. One is Xela Ossu, with kind of longer gray streaked black hair, jet black biker styled gloves, and a FBI badge. The other is Alex Russo. Between them is medium brownish blond haired Zack Martin, in a black king crown themed T-shirt and thick jet black jeans. Zack concludes, "you catch on quick." Hanna chuckles, "these guys? They're like Caleb's kind of in crowd."

Xela slightly chuckles, "well, I did make the FBI my in crowd…if you get my meaning." Hanna figures, "damn nice." Xela starts to say, "glad you…"

Starting to head off, Alex urges, "just don't get too wrapped up in your work, Xela." Xela implies, "and yet you are part of my work." They briefly kiss. Alex slightly chuckles, "come on Zack: We can fool around with drinks." Zack adds, "sweet!" He follows Alex to the bar.

Emily wonders, "Alison, care to explain?" Xela illuminates, "what: She didn't tell you?" Hanna wonders, "tell us what?"

Alison figures, "I called Miss Cablewish about applying for the new and improved FBI: Thought it'd be a good surprise."

Hanna reflects, "slight chuckle. As much as I like taking out my anger on big bad bitches, that night with the A's after us…felt like murder." Xela slightly sighs, "suit yourself. What about you, Emily?"

Emily answers, "sorry Xela, but I think the rest of us mostly have the same answer to give." Alison starts to get up, "you sure?" A teary eyed Emily and a teary eyed Hanna get up, with Emily inquiring, "are you?"

Alison moderately sighs, "never been more sure: This is who I am. But, can I still call you?" Emily concludes, "of course: I could never stand in your way." They deeply kiss, then pull away. Alison slightly chuckles, "but I could come your way some time." Emily adds, "I'd like that." She and Hanna say their goodbyes. To Hanna's surprise, Alison hugs her before saying goodbye. Alison starts walking away with Xela, with Alex and Zack starting to come back.

Xela wonders, "I just gotta know: What was that night like for you?" Alison slightly sighs, "like freedom." Xela slightly chuckles, "you are a fighter."

Meanwhile, the drinks at the bar erupt like fountains. Spencer drops her then shattered drink, which has barely been drunken out of. Several more dropped drinks shatter on the floor. The crowd hurriedly leaves out of thinking a bar fight just started. Aria and Zoey manage to get to Spencer, checking if she's ok. Hanna wonders, "did time just…pause?" Emily sighs hard, "let's not go there: The last thing we need is even more secrets."
