I know it has been a while guys! Sorry about that. With the holidays and myupcoming exams it has been pretty hectic around the house lately. I would

quickly like to promote a Facebook page called Obsessed With Reading that a

friend and I admin on. Like it? Please?

Anyway, I know that I'm not very good with updating on a schedule but I will try

to update at least once a month if not more. Here we go!

Chapter 12

With James waiting in my bedroom for me I knew that I had to make this quick. I invited Lissa, Christian, and Dimtri into my living room and sat down waiting for them to get down to business.

"What do you guys want? I have some things I have to do before I go hunting" I asked distracted. I sent out feelers to my other pack mates to see how they were progressing on their travel here. The closest would arrive tomorrow at the earliest. I sighed knowing that Cyn would be coming with the others.

"What happened in the cafeteria today?" Lissa asked quietly.

"I am shadow-kissed. Over the years I have learned many new techniques and the removal of darkness from a spirit user with or without a bond mate is just one of the techniques that I have learned. Adrian had too much for me to handle by myself and my body reacted to that. If I take too much darkness it kills me." I told them skirting around the fact of my illness that was actually killing me. "Anything else?"

"Yes. Why did you punch Dimitri?" She asked angry at me.

"None of your business. He knows, he can tell you" I told her harshly, not exactly fond of the memory. She turned to him and he shrugged. She turned to me and it seemed like she was going to tell me something else when Dimitri cut in.

"Who is that man in your room?" He asked in a rough angry voice. He had no control over me and no right to care and he knew it. I glared at him and hoped that James would stay put and out of the conversation.

"Part of my pack." I answered simply not wanting to get into the full description on how he was a shifter and shadow-kissed.

After a few more questions that they got vague answers for they left walked out the door to leave. As they walked down the hall I quickly called out to them "If you see any wolves, bears, dogs, or other weird animals on court grounds including A jaguar leave them alone". Before they could ask any questions I closed the door and called James out to plan.

"So Raphael and Lucas should be here by tomorrow night, Cyn and her guards in a few days, and various others after them. We will have to create a guard schedule and brief the Guardians. Then we have to destroy the nest."

I was frustrated by the time we finished. Briefing the Guardians would wait until more of my people had arrived making it seem more serious than most would assume when it was just the two of us. My father had dropped by with more of my supplies and news that Jen would be here the day after tomorrow. I thanked him and he left off to do whatever he did when at court.

I remembered what it was like when I was training the pack. I had continuously played the Song I'll Make a Man Out of You that was found in the Mulan movie.

Let's get down to business

To defeat the Huns

Did they send me daughters

When I asked for sons

You're the saddest bunch I ever met

But you can bet we're through

Mister I'll make a man out of you

Tranquil as a forest

But a fire within

Once you find your center

You are sure to win

...

Yes most of us were guardians and were trained but we needed to work on the pack link and learn not to be distracted by that and we needed to learn how to fight together. We needed to learn to deal with the ghosts when outside of the wards. We, for better or for worse were a team. We made a good team. Together we had taken down almost 600 strogoi in the last four years. Sydney was the only one who knew how many we really took down. We were under her records as "The Pack" and then under passwords and codes were our real names and scores.

I started to feel sick and suddenly an Alarm rang through court. James looked at me and I nodded. He striped and shifted before I climbed on his back and he burst through the window. This was the fastest way to get to the threat and I would Shadow dress him when we got there. I felt it when the wards came down and saw the ghosts flock around us. I leant forward and he ran even faster. All we were was a blur to the Court Guardians. Seeing out targets I flipped off James and landed smoothly on the ground as he shifted back. Quickly clothing him I turned back to the enemy with a harsh smile on my lips.

"You really should learn not to mess with the Silent Hunter" I laughed at them. They obviously didn't like that very much as the leader of the small group attacked, causing a full blown battle. We traded blows, and comments. But as usual it ended with all of them dead at our feet. I looked for James and found him a short distance away looking for me also. We started to walk towards each other and when we met he hugged me tightly.

"Nice going Alpha!" The Mark and Mikhail were beside us too.

"Well done boys!" I told them as we all headed back to the clinic to be checked over. Since we all had fought we all had to go.

looked up when we entered the clinic and shook her head at me. "I see that this is going to be just as bad as at the Academy Rose. Come here, let's get you and your friends checked out." I followed her to the back of the room, to be checked over before the guys and I went back to Mikhail's to sleep.
