Disclaimer: *Whisper* KW does not own Pokemon, but if he did, he would perhaps change a majority of the recent seasons so far. However, he does own his OC characters...well, whoever is still alive after this...also, this episode was inspired by the anime episode "Mystery at the Lighthouse".
An interesting event it was a few days ago for Kidan and his friends. To start off, after leaving Cerulean City, and by following Sora's so-called shortcut, they have all wondered into the woods that was covered with thick fog. Kidan, who had volunteered to find firewood with Slice, went out to search, they met a young kid named Joe, who was apart of a school called the Pokemon Technical Institute, a school only millionaire kids can attend. After explaining about the school and his friends, Kidan didn't really like what the school was about, and asked to meet with the student who was in charge.
Taking them into the school, Joe explained that the machines were used to improve their battling rather than real battles, indicating that calculations were what made up the battles. Cealy, who wanted to defend her cousin Misty's title as gym leader of Cerulean, battled Joe and his Weepinbell with Spree and won quickly. Afterwards, Giselle, the girl who was the student in charge of the school, told Joe off, implying to him that he was an embarrassment to the school and a failure. Having enough, before Kidan could interfere, Cealy battled Giselle and her Gravelle. But, in shock, lost to her as it sent Spree out the window and into the pool fainted and injured.
Outside, Giselle made fun of them all about how they were as trainers, claiming that the Pokemon was only weak because of the trainer who trains it. Kidan, who wasn't gonna take her bad mouth anymore, defends himself and the others, only to be made fun of. Showing that it was more than just calculations and levels, Kidan challenged Giselle and her Cubone with Slice. Almost defeated, Slice was able to turn the tables on them. Sadden that she lost, they were all then attacked by agents Darek and Chelse, both "top" agents of Team Rocket, as they atentions was to take their Pokemon from them. Humiliated and defeated, Team Rocket fled after losing to Slice and the tech students. In the end, during the evening, Joe and Giselle became real friends and hoped to battle each other, as well as Kidan and his friends again one day. Bidding farewells, Kidan and the gang left the school as they ventured out to Vermillion.
After leaving the tech school, on the next day, Kidan, Cealy and Sora had encountered a Psi-like Pokemon named Abra, who appeared to be injured by a recent attack by the dirt road. Attending to it, Kidan promised to take it to the Pokemon Center for treatment, no matter the cause. But, on their way to the nearest center, they were encountered, yet again, by Team Rocket, wanting to take both the Abra and their Pokemon to their boss. After an intense battle, Kidan, Abra and Char were seperated from the others by an explosion from the battle. Injured, yet still able to move, Kidan and Char try to make their way to the Pokemon Center, hoping that Cealy and Sora were there already and alright.
But as they made their way there, they were suddenly caught inside a massive thunderstorm, causing them to take shelter inside a dead hollowed tree for the night. Afraid and on the verge of tears, Abra was comforted by Kidan and Char, assuring him that he wasn't alone and they wouldn't abandon him for any reason. What helped Abra the most was when Kidan and Char told him that he was their friend, causing Abra to take a liking to them both. Once the storm was over, Kidan, who was carrying Abra, and Char all headed out to get to the Pokemon Center. But, when they see that they were finally close to their destination, Darek and Chelse interfered, attacking all three of them at once. Char, who had enough of Team Rocket, cried out and began to glow. Cealy and Sora, who had been at the Pokemon Center overnight, had rushed over to see what was all the commotion, saw that Char was evolving. After evolving into Charmeleon, he sent the Team Rocket agents packing with his new move, Flamethrower. Overjoyed that they were all fine, they quickly took Abra to the Pokemon Center to be healed.
When Kidan, Cealy and Sora felt relief that Abra was doing better, they bid it farewell and started to continue their journey once again, leaving Abra in the hands of Nurse Joy. But not too far from the Pokemon Center, Abra had teleported in front of them, blocking their path and making them all confused as to why he had stopped them. Suddenly realizing what Abra wanted, Kidan asked Abra if he wanted to join his team, and in the end, Abra happily agreed, giving Kidan now a total of four Pokemon in his team.
Now with four Pokemon; Char, Slice, Swirl, and now Abra, who Kidan later nicknamed him, Psych, Kidan and his friends continue their journey towards Vermillion City to face Lt. Surge, the Vermillion City Gym Leader.
"The roads gotta be here somewhere..." Kidan said looking around the area, only to find more trees.
"Everything's somewhere," Sora replied looking at the map as he lead the way.
"Sora, did you get us lost again?" Cealy asked him annoyed to the fact that Sora had got them lost a few days ago.
"No!...Okay, maybe..." Sora sighed in defeat as Kidan and Cealy both sighed in annoyance.
They had been travelling all day and the sun has just started setting, meaning that it would become night very soon. And camping in the woods in the dark was not their idea of resting for the night. they hoped that they could find a place to stay instead.
"We've been wondering around these woods for the past five hours and not a single road to be seen! How could you get us lost so easily?!" Cealy complained to Sora.
"I followed what the map said! I guess I just didn't pay enough attention to where we were going..." Sora apologized.
"Lets just hope we find any civilization soon," Kidan said to them as he looked around the woods a bit. "I'm not in the mood to sleep in the open like this again."
"I hear that," Cealy agreed with him.
Suddenly, high in the air, a purple moth-like Pokemon swoops down towards Cealy and lands on top of her head, without causing her to fall backwards. It seems that she was excited about something.
"Spree, did you find something?" Cealy asked her Pokemon hopefully.
"Ven, venomoth moth veno!" Venomoth exclaimed excitedly.
"What did she say?" Sora asked them both. He was still trying to get use to the fact that Kidan and Cealy were able to speak and understand Pokemon so much. He always thought it would be cool to do that.
"Spree said that there's an ocean up ahead," Cealy replied pointing to the south. "And there's also a lighthouse in the area too!"
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Kidan exclaimed running towards where Cealy pointed to.
"K-Kidan, wait for us!" Cealy shouted out to him as she chased after him, leaving Sora in a confused and sweatdrop state.
Sora sighs, "I will never understand how those two don't get me lost from time to time." Shrugging, he runs after them in attempt that they wouldn't get themselves lost.
Kidan ran right out of the woods with Slice, who he had called out while running to follow, as they saw a massive, beautiful ocean in front of them. They had stopped right off the edge of the beach, just inches away from the ocean water hitting their feet. The sight of the ocean with the sun setting down was breath taking.
"Man, would you look at that Slice? It's gorgeous," Kidan awed at the scene.
'No kidding,' Slice agreed. 'Way better than the Safari Zone's view, that's for sure.'
"Wow, it's so beautiful!" a voice replied behind him.
Turning around, they both saw Cealy and Spree looking out at the ocean, admiring the scene like they were just doing.
"It so much prettier than Cerulean Cape, no doubt about that," Cealy said breathlessly.
"Makes you think about the good old days, huh Ceal?" Kidan asked her, staring at the ocean view while he spoke.
"Yeah..." she trailed off as her mind wondered. The image in front of her felt so perfect for her. The scene, the timing, every little detail of it was so breathtaking. But what would make it better was if she was with the person she liked, who was only a few feet away from her. Just thinking about it made her blush.
"You know, you guys could have said something before leaving me alone back there!" Sora exclaimed as he ran up to them catching his breath from exhaustion.
'So much for a perfect and quiet view...' Cealy sweatdropped with a hint of annoyance.
"Sorry Sora, wasn't thinking at the time, heh heh," Kidan chuckled in embarrassment rubbing the back of his neck. "Speaking of time and whatnot, didn't Spree say that there was a lighthouse nearby?"
"Yeah she did," Cealy replied as she looked up to Spree who was still sitting on her head for comfort. "Where was that anyhow, Spree?"
"Veno, venomoth!" Spree said to them pointing towards the right side of their position with her moth-like arms.
Looking over to where she was pointing, they saw a large stone tower sitting on top of a cliff that stretched out to the ocean. It appeared that someone lived there due to the lighthouse rotating its light beacons in a circle, which was obviously used for sailors who have lost their way or lost in storms.
"That must be it," Kidan said in a simple matter. "Which means..."
"We don't have to sleep out here in our sleeping bags tonight!" Cealy cheered.
"And no more walking for the rest of the day!" Sora cheered as well.
"Then what are we standing here for? Let's get going!" Kidan exclaimed as he, Slice and the gang rushed to the lighthouse in hopes that they can sleep in a comfortable building tonight rather than in their sleeping bags outside.
But what they didn't notice was that the trip to the lighthouse was longer than anticipated. From their perspectives from the beach view, it looked extremely short. But when they trecked up the hill to the lighthouse, it had become dark already, meaning that they must have walked for nearly an extra hour or so before they reached their destination.
"Phew! That was farther than it looked," Kidan said a bit exhausted from the trip up the hill.
"This lighthouse looks weird," Sora examined as they all reached the big doors of the lighthouse.
There were some strange images carved into the giant wooden doors. They appeared to be some type of Pokemon that they never seen before. It was possible that the images they saw were perhaps extremely rare and likely legendary Pokemon, where very few people would ever see in their lives.
"I guess we better ring the bell," Cealy suggested.
"I got it," Kidan replied as he apprached the automatic doorbell box. Pushing the button, the bell rang as it made a type of creepy ring to it, spooking all three of them as they took a couple steps back from the doorbell.
"Who's there?" a voice asked which sounded like it was coming from the box.
"E-excuse us sir, but we're travellers and we seemed to have gotten ourselves lost," Kidan replied a bit shaky from the doorbell sound.
"We've been camping out for quite awhile and we would really appreciate it if you could spare an extra bed," Cealy said.
"And I was wondering if I could use your kitchen to make some beacon double cheeseburgers for our group," Sora said. "And I would be more than happy to make something for you too."
"That's great! Can you make something that's not made out of tofu?" the voice asked.
"Oh sure, I can cook lots of things without using any tofu," Sora replied.
"That's good," the voice replied. "I've been eating nothing but tofu since my cot went on vacation. Come on in."
Just as the voice ended, the doors started to open slowly, allowing all three of them inside what looked like a gigantic mansion. Walking inside, the room was very dim, the lights weren't as bright as they shoudl have been, but it was still good enough to see. Kidan though that it was a good time to call someone back home for progress.
"Excuse me, but do you have a phone that I can use, please?" Kidan called out to whoever was speaking to them a bit ago.
"Sure, there's a phone right near you," the voice replied back.
They all looked over to the right side of them as they saw a single telephone projector screen and what appeared to be a Bellsprout phone.
"Huh, a videophone," Cealy examined. "That's neat. You don't see one of those except in Pokemon Centers."
"Who are you gonna call anways, Kidan?" Sora asked curiously.
"I want to call Professor Oak and see how things are back home," Kidan replied. "I'm probably worrying my mom without calling for the past couple of weeks."
Walking to the phone, he dialed the number to Professor Oak's Lab and picked up the phone, placing it to his ear. "I'm sure Oak won't mind me if I call him...hopefully," Kidan said.
After a couple times ringing, the projector came to life as he saw Professor Oak cooking something inside a cooking pot.
"Professor Oak!" Kidan greeted him.
"Well hi, Kidan! You caught me cooking up some dinner," Professor Oak replied happily. "My cook is on vacation, and I've got to fend for myself before he returns."
"I can see that," Kidan laughed with a small sweatdrop on his face. He can always presume that Oak would do something like this everytime he called. 'I guess it's a habit,' he thought.
"By the way Kidan, where are you calling from anyway?" Oak asked curiously as he took a bite from his, what appeared to be, tofu.
"We're actually at a lighthouse on top of a cliff," Kidan explained.
"Oh! That must be Bill's lighthouse!" Oak replied with enthusiasm. "He's a Pokemon Researcher, who knows even more than me. See what you can learn from him. He could teach you just about everything you need to know about Pokemon, and then some."
"More than you Professor?" Kidan asked. "I thought you knew more than anyone else?"
"Haha, I appreciate the credit, but sadly I don't," Oak chuckled. "You see, many other researchers, like Bill for instanse, have examined Pokemon more times than I could ever count. Like I said, you can learn alot from him."
"This is Bill, Professor Oak!" Bill's voice replied through the building hall. "Good to hear from you again."
"Hello, Bill! Please give Kidan and his friends a crash course of Pokemon!" Oak replied back. "By the way Kidan, was there anything else you needed from me?"
"No, just wanted to know how my parents were doing. Are they still asking how I am?" Kidan half joked.
"Everyday, Kidan. They keep coming over to visit everyday to see if you called at all," Oak chuckled a bit. "I already assured them that there's nothing to fear. Besides, your already following their steps of becoming a trainer, so there's nothing to worry about."
"Thanks, Professor Oak, I really appreciate it," Kidan sighed in relief. He kept wondering if his mom and dad were asking Oak everyday about him. He knew that they were worried was all, but there was nothing to be afraid of. Because of Oak and his parents, he knew how to survive. "Tell them I said hi and me and Cealy are doing really great."
"I sure will, Kidan- Oh! Tofu's done!" Oak exclaimed blowing on his cooked tofu dinner. "Talk to you later, Kidan!"
"Bye Professor!" Kidan smiled as the screen turned off.
"Well there's no way I can't ignore a request from the great Professor Oak," Bill's voice said as the lights suddenly turned on fully.
As they all looked around, the looked over to the staircase and saw a brown figure standing before them with two yellow claws and legs, with red dotted eyes staring at them. "I am Bill, of the lighthouse."
Meanwhile, outside of Bill's lighthouse, perhaps a coupel miles away, Team Rocket agents Darek and Chelse, were exmaining the building with their binoculars.
"According to the database, that lighthouse belongs to Bill," Chelse explained. "The famous Pokemon Researcher that's more famous than Professor Oak."
"Then I guess we've come to right place. Tracking those little brats was a good idea then, huh?" Darek asked.
"There must be millions of rare and powerful Pokemon inside that building," Chelse replied. "And you know what we need to do."
"Right," Darek complied. "Sneak in and take everything that we can grab, at least the valuable stuff for the boss."
"So how shall we sneak in?" Chesle asked as she observed the area around the lighthouse. "We could take the road or risk our lives by climbing up the cliffs."
"Well, we certainly can't take the road," Darek pointed out.
"Then we'll have to climb up those cliffs," Chesle said. "Though it'll be tough to climb."
"Yep..." Darek said as they both looked at each.
"Because we're afraid of heights!" They both exclaimed, both Ekans and Oddish were out watching the drama with sweatdrops on their faces.
Back inside the lighthouse, at the exact time Chelse and Darek were examining the building, Kidan, Cealy and Sora were faced with some type of Pokemon that called himself Bill.
"What the heck is that?!" Kidan yelped as he quickly pulled out his PokeDex and tried to scan it. But as tried to get any information out of it, something went wrong. "Why isn't the PokeDex not scanning?!"
"But it should be able to scan! That's a Kabuto, an ancient fossil Pokemon!" Sora exclaimed. "Why is it here?"
"N-no wait, I am not a Kabuto!" Bill cried out. "I'm Bill, the Pokemon Researcher!"
"But that makes no sense!" Kidan replied in a confused state. "Aren't you a human, or really a Pokemon?"
"I'm a human. I got stuck inside this costume," Bill explained to them.
Noticing that he was telling the truth, Kidan tilted his head. "So...are you unable to get out or something?"
"Y-yes! Please, step up here," Bill motioned to Kidan. Running up the stairs towards him, he waited for him to continue. "Push that button underneath my right arm."
Kneeling down, Kidan looks underneath his arm and saw a small grey-blue button that was not very visible. "This button?"
"Y-yes, these arms are too short to reach it," Bill explained. "I tried to get out, but I wasn't very successful."
Understanding, Kidan pushes the button as the button suddenly starts to rapidly blink an off and on blue color. Taking a few steps back, the costume begins to glow and sparkle as the costume starts to come apart. As the costume falls to the ground, a figure with green hair emerged. He had black eyes and wore a dark crimson red suit and pants with a green bandana around his neck, along with a sky blue buttoned shirt underneath his suit.
"Thank you for getting me out," Bill smiled gratefully. "I've been stuck inside that costume for hours."
"Did you come from a costume party or something?" Cealy asked him curiously.
"No, its not for a party," Bill sadly explained. "This is a special costume that I use in my research. Getting inside its skin helps me get inside its head."
"What do you mean by that?" Kidan asked him confused.
Looking up at the other carving images on the walls, like the ones that were from the door, he continued. "There are many other instinct Pokemon and I want to understand how they lived. Putting on a costume is one way of trying to figure out what they were like."
"So by putting on a costume of an instinct Pokemon, you're able to understand them more?" Kidan asked, hoping he got the answer right.
"Yes, indeed. Or, I'm beginning to, that is," Bill replied. "You see...this planet was created 4.6 billion years ago, and during that time, more kinds of Pokemon existed back then. They had many ways of living."
All three of them started to imagine what it was like back then and how many Pokemon were around that time.
"You mean there are still lots of Pokemon that are still left to discover?" Kidan questioned him.
"Well, on this planet so far, there are more than one hundered and fifty species of Pokemon," Bill explained to them.
"Over a hundred and fifty more Pokemon?!" Kidan exclaimed in disbelief.
"You're lucky that you guys are Pokemon trainers," Bill complimented them all. "Your goal is to catch and gather data on all different kinds of Pokemon. That's a great task."
"Yeah, but so far I only caught probably not even twenty five Pokemon so far," Kidan sadly replied.
The screen from above that showed over a hundred and fifty Pokemon showd how many Kidan had captured so far. In count, he had actually captured an even amount of twenty eight Pokemon since he began. For Cealy, she caught at least twenty five Pokemon. As for Sora, he caught at least twenty seven Pokemon. And yet, there were still over a hundred more Pokemon to be catched.
"Man, there's a whole lot more than I can ever remember from all the times I was with Professor Oak," Kidan stared at the screen of Pokemon in awe.
"Of course, these Pokemon are just the Pokemon we know about," Bill explained. "But yet, there's still many other Pokemon that have never been discovered. So we need to keep searching."
"I wonder how many Pokemon there is..." Kidan thought out loud.
"Probably more than we can count," Cealy replied, who was also shocked of how many Pokemon there was still.
"Yeah, no kidding," Sora said as well.
"You know, no one knows exactly how many Pokemon there are," Bill replied. "The search goes on. There's always something new to look for in our lives, and in ourselves."
"I know what you mean," Kidan muttered softly, remembering the days when he was forced to stay home after the incident.
"Yes, there's alot to look for in ourselves," Bill continued. "Inside and outside of ourselves. There's a meaning for every creature out there. A meaning for all the Pokemon and a meaning for all of us humans."
Those words really hit Kidan, even for Cealy. They both knew that the meaning Bill had spoken of was close to what they had experienced. To know how to speak to Pokemon since they were ten after the accident and all the days afterwards, all of that had a meaning to it. And to them, it was their personal mission to find out themselves.
Outside the lighthouse, off the edge of the cliff, Darek and Chesle are seen climbing up the rocky wall, preparing to sneak behind the lighthouse from the back.
"Sometimes I wonder why we en do this," Chelse complained. "Why go through all of this climbing and sneaking around just to prove that we're bad?"
"So we can get other peoples Pokemon, that's why," Darek replied to her, trying to get a firm grip of the rocks. "Besides, I'm all for it, as long as it gets us something out of it."
"You need to keep looking for new Pokemon to catch," Bill explained to them. "It's something very important for Pokemon Researchers. It is as vital to me as it is to you. But right now, though, there is only one Pokemon I'm searching for."
"What kind of Pokemon would that be?" Kidan asked him curiously.
"Come with me and I'll explain," Bill replied motioning them to follow him up the lighthouse. Following him, he led them all right on the rooftop of the lighthouse with the lights still rotating from above.
"It's probably the biggest Pokemon ever," Bill explained with fascination in his tone. "Bigger than all the rest of the Pokemon so far. No one has ever seen it. It's been wondering the world for years and years, looking for friends."
"But doesn't that Pokemon have any friends or family?" Cealy asked Bill, sounding a bit sad for some reason.
"The Pokemon wanders because it's alone," Bill replied to her sadly smiling. "It's the only Pokemon of its species, one of a kind. One night, I heard a very strange sound, coming across from the ocean."
As he spoke, he pulled out a recording device as he pushes a button. The red light above the button turns on as a sound started to be heard from it. It was quite loud, but not enough for everyone to cover their ears. The sound calling had a sad tone to it.
"I want...I want to meet you," Bill said to them. "That's what it said to me."
Slice and Spree, who were still out of their Pokeballs, frowned sadly. They knew that feeling all too well, considering that they had been sent away from their own home by themselves, with no family or friends to come with.
"Sometime ago, I recorded a similar sound and played it from the lighthouse all the way out to the ocean," Bill explained. "Let's be friends...I want to meet you. That's what I said back to it."
Kidan, Cealy and Sora felt touched by Bill's story, but although, sad at the same time as well. It had to be lonely and sadden to not find a friend for so long.
"One day, I heard the same voice calling back to me from over the ocean," Bill continued. "It said, 'I want to meet you too. I want to be friends.' It was answering me back. On some foggy night, that Pokemon might come here to meet its friend that its been seeking for a very long time. I would be so happy to meet that Pokemon."
"Will you try to capture this Pokemon, Bill?" Kidan asked him.
"Why do I need to capture it?" Bill asked him back. "Meeting it would be enough for me, just a chance to study it would make my long wait the worth while."
Before he could continue, they heard a strange sound coming from the ocean. Suprised, they all got as close as they can to see out into the ocean fog to spot whatever called back. Not long, however, a large shadowed figure was seen approaching them far out in the ocean, calling out the same sound as the device was.
"It's here! The signal," Bill exclaimed as he pushed the button on the device once more. As he pushed, the lights from the lighthouse changed colors; from yellow to red, from red to blue and from blue to green, repeating each time. From that, the creature replied back greetingly.
"It sounds like it's singing," Cealy awed as she listened closely to the creature's voice.
"Would you care to dance then, Ceal?" Kidan offered with a smirk a she extended his hand out to her.
Blushing just faintly, Cealy accepted his offering as she giggled. "Why thank you, kind sir."
Slice and Spree moved their bodies back and forth, listening closely to the creature's sound, almost hypnotized in the movement. To them, it was very soothing and wonderful. For the others, Bill and Sora stared at the creature in awe while Kidan and Cealy both followed along with the creature's voice, dancing in rhythm as they danced back and forth soothly, listening closely to the voice.
Down below the cliff, Team Rocket were also listening to the creature's voice. The sounc had caused them both to stop climbing the wall as they listened closely to it's voice.
"What beautiful singing," Chesle replied.
"It's very relaxing," Darek said back. "And very soothing!"
As they turned their heads towards the wonderful sound they've been hearing, they see the large shadowed figure approaching them and the lighthouse. However, it didn't even bother them at the least.
"Such a large Pokemon," Chelse examined.
"I guess size does matter time to time," Darek thought out loud.
"This must be something rare and unusual," Chelse grinned evily. "And you know what that means, Darek...we need to grab it for ourselves and back to the boss!"
From his back, Darek pulls out a bazooka that he had carried up the cliff for sometime and aims it directly at the unknown Pokemon creature.
"I'll attack it at once!" Darek announced. "But, you know, it seems a bit a shame to aim a gun at a sweet creature like that."
"Of course it's a shame, we've been traiend to shame!" Chelse coldly replied.
"Oh well...fire in the hole!" Darek called out as he pulls the trigger and a missle flies out of the hole, hitting the creature in the stomach part. Though, it seemed to only scratch the creature slightly, not leaving any wounds. However, the creature felt the pain hit it and it cried out painfully.
"What's going on?!" Sora exclaimed as he saw the creature get hit.
But as he asked that question, the creature suddenly charged and prepare to ram into the lighthouse. Gasping, Sora and Bill dodge the coming attack as Kidan pushed Cealy out of the way.
"Come on, we gotta get off of this thing!" Kidan exclaimed as he helped Cealy back up and had her go down the stairs first fast. The others soon followed behind her as the building from the top started to collapse. "Keep running guys!"
Back outside, another missle was launched at the creature, causing it to once again cry in pain. It appeared that it was starting to get afraid from the attacks that it was taking.
Kidan, Bill and all the others all ran outside the lighthouse as Bill rushes ahead of them and tries to get close to the creature as possible from above the hill. "Please don't go, my Pokemon friend! Please stay with us! I've waited so long for a chance to see you here!"
But sadly, the creature replied what sounded like a no and shook its head in denial.
"Please, Pokemon wait!" Bill cried out sadly.
Back on the cliff once again, Darek and Chelse were now both shooting their bazookas at the creature from below, trying to weaken it as much as possible.
"Do we have to ruin everyone's plans?" Darek asked her. "Even I think this is completely rotten!"
"Quit compalining, Darek!" Chelse snapped at him. "We can score big with this Pokemon!"
As they continued to fire missle at the unknown Pokemon creature, they didn't notice that the creature had swung its large tail at them from below, cauisng them to be sent flying backwards into the air to who knows where.
"Good job, Chesle! Now we're flying airborne!" Darek complained at her.
"Oh, just shut up!" Chesle retorted back as they were sent flying into the fog.
"Pokemon, wait!" Bill called out to it as it started to retreat back to the ocean. But it was no use. The Pokemon creature wanted nothing more to do what was going on there as it fled. Kidan, Bill, Cealy, Sora and their two Pokemon could only watch helplessly as they saw it fade into the thick fog that covered the entire ocean, all looking sadden.
The next day, as the sun shined bright into the clear blue sky, Bill, Kidan and the others were all looking over the ocean, wondering where the Pokemon could have gone.
"So Bill, do you have any idea on what kind of Pokemon it was?" Kidan asked him.
"Who knows," Bill simply replied with a smile. "Pokemon live more ways in places than humans can ever learn.
"Well you know, I think looking for more Pokemon and capturing them can help bring all of us closer together," Kidan said to Bill.
"Learning to raise Pokemon is another way to understanding how to live with them," Sora pointed out.
"And Pokemon are lots of fun to play with," Cealy replied as well.
"And meanwhile, I'll study and watch for the giant Pokemon to appear at my lighthouse again," Bill told them all.
"Hey, Bill? Do you think we'll ever find all the Pokemon that there are in this world?" Kidan asked him curiously.
"Probably not, Kidan," Bill replied to him. "Remember, there are more than one hundred and fifty Pokemon than we can ever imagine, maybe even more. Maybe there's no limit to the Pokemon that we can actually find on this planet."
Smiling, Bill turned around to face Kidan and the others. "Kidan, you, Cealy and Sora are all Pokemon trainers. I'm a Pokemon Researcher seeking out all kinds of lifeforms on this planet. Even if our paths are different, I think our goals are the same."
Smiling, Kidan and the others all nodded in agreement. Bill was right, they maybe different in careers, but the goals they seek are all but one of the same. And now, with one last thing to do, Kidan, Cealy and Sora all bid farewell to Bill as they part their ways from him and continue their paths to Vermillion City.
And like they all said, there is much more to be discovered in the world of Pokemon, and the Pokemon Adventures series is far from ending as new and mysterious Pokemon are still left to be discovered by our heroes. Who knows, maybe there isn't a limit of Pokemon in the world? We'll just have to see for ourselves...
