I really wanted to get a chapter up, so here it is! I'm personally not very satisfied with it, but I hope that you guys find some enjoyment in it. Please read the AN at the end of this chapter!

Artemis' Pov

I reached over and tried to put my arm over Wally, but my arm fell against the cold side of the bed. I frowned, not opening my eyes because I already knew that another is gonna go by, and I'm gonna wake up to find him gone again. I sighed, opening my eyes anyways. How long has it been since we've slept in the same bed together, side by side? How long did that even last? Two days. I was reunited with Kid Idiot for two days before he was gone again. Talk about knowing how to leave me in the dust.

I got out of bed, grabbing my uniform before heading for the girls change room for a quick shower. When were we finally going to make some progress? We've been stuck in this place for over a week now, but being trapped down in this stupid bunker all the time is starting to get to me. Everything was going fine before, in fact, everything was going as fast as I'd wanted it to be. But now, this seemed like the longest rescue mission I've ever handled. Usually these things take a few hours or maybe even a day, but since this was a whole city...

I let out a frustrated groan, stressed from over thinking everything. This was going to be a long, uneventful day. Maybe.

Once I was out of the shower, and changed, I met everyone in the cafeteria where S'kidd and Kitsune were serving breakfast. I took a seat beside Aqualad and Miss Martian, poking at my plate.

"What's wrong? You're not hungry?" Miss Martian asked, noticing my full plate.

"Uh, no, just-what is it?" I asked, taking in what was on my plate for the first time.

It was definitely alien food, probably native to Savothians, but it was purple fruit over a weird shade of green... something. There was no way that even Kitsune would eat this, or even cook this.

"It's called L'aaks," Miss Martian said cheerfully as she took a huge bite of the purple fruit. "It tastes just like salad!"

I slowly looked back down at my plate again, trying to see as salad. I'm never going to look at salad the same way ever again.

"It may not look like the familiar Earth food that we are used to, but this is better than no food," Aqualad said, deciding to help convince me to eat. "We must eat to keep up our strength."

How much longer did I have to keep up my strength? I was frustrated with everything, and I felt like I was fifteen again, back during the first year of the team. I closed my eyes, taking a sharp breath of air to calm my self. Distraught. I scoffed at the word, but it couldn't have been any other word.

All I wanted was for me old life back. Waking up with Wally right there beside me, finding Brucely always sleeping there on our couch when we left and came home from school together. We didn't even get to have our alone time. I gripped my fork tightly. I was home sick.

Savoth, Reach HQ

Kid Flash's Pov

Nothing. They won't give me anything. No clues, no accidental revelations, not even a slip. This is taking too long. I know I've been here for at least a week now.

"You've got to stall them Kid, but in that time, get them to reveal their plans, why they took the King. Accuse them of attacking and invading this planet," Miss M said.

"Whatever you do, don't mention their invasion on Earth. That will be your give. That will be the end and failure to our mission," Scarlet said.

I knew Miss M was around here somewhere, and that Scarlet was probably somewhere discussing another change to all the crazy plans we have or back at the bunker with the rest of the team who were still waiting for me.

Artemis was back there too. God, I miss her, we only had a couple of days together, and then we were separated again. She's going to kill me for taking so long, but she's too in love with the Wall-man to really do anything too serious. Maybe just a punch to the arm, or an elbow to the ribs. I even miss it when she did that to me. God, I gotta hurry this up. I've never felt so slow before.

"Let's try this again," the Scientist said, walking into my prison cell. She stood in front of me with both Black Beetle and Red Beetle by her sides. "Where is the fragment?"

Just like any other day I said, "Why would I ever tell you? You'd only use it to kill me and my people off."

It wasn't like any other day though. The Scientist smiled, before nodding to Red Beetle. He quickly walked out, coming back by pushing a locked up Gorflack in a rolling chair.

"Let's try this again," the Scientist repeated, but she didn't look at me for the answer. Instead, she looked at the panicking Gorflack with a Beetle Blade pressing against his throat. "Where is the fragment?"

Gorflack looked crazy and down right scared. Actually, he was looking down right at my shoes. He was screaming, but I could hear him; the pod he was locked in muffled all the sound that came from him.

"How interesting..." the Scientist said slowly, with her weird, creepy voice. She followed Gorflack's eyes and stared at my feet, a crazed look in her eyes. "Black Beetle, if you wouldn't mind cutting off this pathetic experiment's legs off."

Thanks for the help, Gorflack. Black Beetle's smile was almost intimidating. Almost. He was really enjoying this part of his job, but he was just as psycho as the Scientist. "With pleasure."

I pushed myself as far as I could from the unnaturally bulky monster, but I didn't get much distance between us because of the stupid chair. I grinded my teeth together, preparing myself to vibrate my molecules. Here comes another nose bleed, I thought dryly. Man, Artemis would so kill me first if she knew I was joking off before I got my legs chopped off.

I tried to make it look like I was scared, and it didn't take much effort. Everyone in the room seemed to be buying it, so I used up some of that time to multitask. "Miss M, Scarlet, Kitsune, anyone; I think it's time."

So sorry for the late short chapter! But I decided to write it in Artemis' and Wally's POV because I thought I'd change it up a bit. It was really hard to write though because Artemis and Wally are older now, but their personalities didn't really get to show much in the second season, so I had to base them off season one. I really wish they'd developed the characters deeply like they did in season one, but with such a big team now, I guess they had to focus on the plot.

Now, because I wasn't so satisfied with this chapter, I've written a Spitfire one-shot. Light fluff, but it'd be great if you guys checked it out! It's called Ninja Boyfriend, and yes, I know that you guys are already starting to get ideas, but I wrote it trying to experiment with the new skills I've learned and picked up on in English class. You can find it on my profile!
