A/N: Hey guys! Happy Hump Day! Thanks for being patient. Everything is simmering down around here so hopefully updates return to their quicker pace. I hope you enjoy this chapter. Have an awesome day! P.s your reviews are stellar, so fun to read! I look forward to them every post!

I rolled over on my side. I officially hate mornings. I hugged my pillow, waiting for the fogginess and the end of my dreams to drift away. I couldn't remember my dreams but I had a feeling they weren't of beaches and bikinis. I could feel the lights blasting in the room and refused to open my eyes. I reached behind me for Dani and I realized I was on the couch.

"What the hell?" I moaned into the pillow.

"No, I don't want to go anywhere until I know what's happening." I heard Dani. She never raised her voice. I sat up and realized I was in the change room still. I looked around seeing Dani arguing with Sara and Brent and suddenly it all came flooding back.
Myka.
The fear and panic that attacked my stomach were quickly replaced with anger, rage and confusion. I stood up checking the time; I had been out for a few hours. Dani stopped arguing when she saw me standing. She came back into the room ignoring whatever Brent was saying. Her eyes were red but I wasn't sure if it was from fatigue or crying.

"Babe," she said, wrapping her arms around me.

"Why didn't you wake me?" I asked; my anger held at bay by Dani's presence. She didn't answer, realizing she was crying I held her closer. I rested my chin against her head as I watched the two guards outside.

"This is all my fault," she mumbled through sobs into my shoulder. "I wanted her to come with us. I thought I could keep her safe."

"Stop, don't do this," I said, taking her face in my hands. I wiped a tear away, "no body could've seen this coming. We had the best security on her detail. We just need to focus on finding her."

She nodded and wiped her eyes with her sleeves. I saw Brent and Sara still standing by the door.

"Do we know anything?" I asked.

"They wouldn't let me leave, but they said Clive is still unconscious from the hit to the head," she whimpered, trying to calm herself.

"Has someone called Ana? She's going to kill me," I muttered, thinking of her reaction that night at the hospital.

"I tried to call her but I only got her voicemail," said Dani.

Brent walked in, looking a little hesitant.

"We need to move guys. They want you away from the area and staying in a different place from the itinerary now that you're awake," he said, quietly yet sternly.

"I'm not going anywhere. What if Myka gets away? This is the only place she would know," I argued.

"The odds of that are n-"

"Don't finish that sentence Brent," I said, pointing at him. I could see why Dani was getting frustrated.

"It's impossible to protect you two while you're here. You're making my job incredibly difficult," he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"You know what you're making difficult Brent? My ability to keep my anger in check and not slap a bitch."

"San," said Dani, quietly. "Let's just go back to the trailer. Maybe we can find something that they overlooked."

I finished glaring at Brent and followed Dani. I could almost feel Brent roll his eyes as we walked by. I know he was doing his job, but as an aunt I was doing mine.

"I want to know as soon as you hear something. If I find out we're being kept in the dark you won't have time to reach for your radio," I said, unable to keep the daggers from my eyes.

"Wow, I haven't seen your sassy side very often. I always forget how sexy it is," said Dani, as she watched me close the door to the bus.

"It's how I should've been from the beginning," I mumbled, starting to feel guilty and helpless.

"The police are looking into it. It's all we can do right now," said Dani, fidgeting with her hands. "But I know, I feel so useless and I know if we do anything, it'll only make it worse. If the media gets a hold of this it could scare the kidnapper off."

I gave her a sympathetic look as I scanned the rest of the trailer. I saw Myka's bear on the floor by her bed and went to pick it up.

"She's probably so scared. She has nothing," I said, my emotions returning. "Why would they do this? Why couldn't they have taken me? Why a little girl who can't defend herself?"

I saw Dani quickly flick a tear away and wrap her arms around herself again.

"It has to be a crew member right? How could they have gotten so close to Clive?" Dani asked. I could tell she had been over these questions a million times.

"They're questioning the crew now," I answered.

"What about that little tart?" asked Dani, looking out the window to see Sara. "She made a point of telling Myka she would be safe with her."

I thought about it for a second. My mind went back to that moment. I'd looked right at Myka and told her it would be okay if she went with her. Could Sara be that shady? I went over the night again, could it have been her? Sara was standing outside my platform all night. There had been a couple fans that tried to come in and I remember looking at her a couple times to make sure everything was under control. I'm sure we have tape of her there constantly. I turned my attention back to Dani who was glaring at my new bodyguard. I stepped beside Dani and covered her hand with mine. I knew she was just thinking of all the possibilities but accusing innocent people wouldn't help us.

"She was with me all night," I whispered as I kissed her head. Not realizing what I had said until Dani reared on me, a look I had never seen before.

"I mean guarding. In my platform. O-on...my…the platform," I said, holding my hands up in surrender. "Damn, your sassy side is terrifying."

Hours had passed, we continued looking around the trailer hoping to find something that didn't belong, but nothing turned up.

I sat down at the kitchen table and held a crayon in my hand. Not a second later, Brent stepped inside.

"Clive's awake."

"Is he okay?" asked Dani, who had emerged from the bedroom.

"They're keeping him overnight but he's just bumped and bruised," confirmed Brent.

"I want to see him," I said, not skipping a beat.

"I figured you'd say that," Brent smiled halfheartedly, a look of defeat. "Sara's gone to get the car."

It was late in the morning when we reached the hospital. Brent led us through the halls before stopping at Clive's door. I walked in and slowly approached his bed. He turned his head at the sound. He had an enormous bruise on his forehead and the side of his face was colors that made me cringe a little.

"It worse than it looks," he said, picking up on it.

"What?" asked Dani, moving to his other side, "you've never looked better."

"Thanks kid," smiled Clive.

Dani walked over and gave him a hug and I reached for his hand.

"I'm glad you're okay," I said, sitting down next to his bed.

"I'm sorry I let her go," he said, his eyes full of sadness.

"I think being knocked out cold is an acceptable excuse," I smiled.

"I just wish I had done more, fought harder. I can't even remember her face or what she was wearing," said Clive.

Dani and I looked at each other.

"Whose face?" I asked, wondering if he had been hit harder than we thought.

"The woman who took Myka," he said absently, reaching up to touch his injured head.

"Her?" we said at the same time. Up until now we had known nothing.

"Yeah," said Clive, rubbing his head. It took him a second before he realized what he had said. "Guess I'm starting to remember things. Better have that detective come back in."

"Sure," nodded Dani, standing and walking out. "San, we should go, give them some time."

I nodded and gave Clive's hand a quick squeeze. Once we were in the hall, Dani pulled me into an empty room.

"Least we know it's a she," she whispered.

"Female crew member? But there's tons, everywhere, everyday."

"My money is still on Sara," said Dani, folding her arms.

I gave her a look.

"Fine, I'll let it go," she mumbled, looking into the hall. "For now," she murmured under her breath.

"Let's go, maybe they found something after questioning the crewmembers," I suggested.

When we made it back to the waiting room, Brent and Sara were whispering and huddled over his phone. They quickly put it away and straightened up as we walked up.

"He's okay?" asked Sara, sounding generally concerned.

Dani took a breath to answer and I quickly cut in to avoid a snarky response.
"He's fine, thank you for asking."

Dani shot me a look, which I ignored.

"What were you looking at?" asked Dani, redirecting her attention.

"Dani," I said, hitting her arm.

"What? I'm paying him. I want to know what's so important that while he's supposed to be "on guard" has his attention instead. Maybe our lax security needs to be tightened up?"

I was happy that both Dani and I were on the same page regarding our feelings. But taking it out on Brent didn't seem like the right thing to do.

"Actually, we need to talk," he answered.

We both looked at him not understanding.

"Let's go back to the trailer," he said with a nod.

Sara busied herself making coffee while Brent attached his phone to Dani's laptop. A video was uploading and he had yet to explain it.

"What is going on? Is this about Myka?" I asked, growing impatient.

He didn't answer while he fiddled with cords.

"Brent. Answer her," demanded Dani.

He stopped and straightened up.

"This was sent to Clive's phone that I'm holding for him," he said, pointing at the video that had been cued up. "Our management team is combing through it but as per the agreement of not keeping you in the dark, we're letting you watch it."

I looked at Dani realizing that it was about Myka. My stomach did flips and I reached for Dani's hand. We sat down in the booth at the kitchen table. Paused on the screen was Myka's smiling face. I heard Dani sniffle before I had to turn away to keep from breaking as well. The activity outside held my attention until I heard it.

"Auntie Tana?"

I closed my eyes at the sound of her voice. I tried to steady my breathing.

"Hi Aunties. I'm sorry I didn't say goodbye before I left," she said waving at the camera. "We had to hurry so I could get ice cream before the store closed!"

I heard Dani laugh between her sniffles as she held my hand tighter. Myka looked happy, but did that mean she was safe?

"We're going to go to the zoo tomorrow. I get to see the elephants!" giggled Myka.

I looked away again, feeling myself breaking under my flood of emotions.

"I have to go-," said Myka, as the video jumped. "...said it's time for bed."

I watched closer as I saw her look up at someone then back at the camera.

"I love you Auntie D!" she said, with a big smile. Dani smiled through her tears and leaned her head on my shoulder.

"I love you Auntie Tana," she grinned, blowing a kiss towards the screen. The tears I had been holding could no longer be stopped as they spilled over. I wiped at them quickly. The video clicked off Myka and words began scrolling on the screen. I leaned closer to read them.

Nothing will happen to Myka as long as the following instructions are followed:
Tomorrow at two p.m., Santana Lopez will enter the zoo, alone. Should she be followed the transaction will be considered invalid and the meeting place compromised. There are to be no police, no wires and no games. This will be a one shot deal; if the plan is not followed through there is no telling what could happen next. Santana is to bring a purse filled with one million dollars. She will leave it next to the bench located in the southeast corner of the zoo next to the elephants. Once she walks away Myka will be released and we shall never speak of this again.
If all is followed regarding the plan then no one will get hurt. Step one inch out of line and she could expect a special surprise.

The video stopped and the trailer was quiet.

"What the hell is that? Doctor Evil's wife is demanding money?" asked Dani. "San's not going in there alone. I won't allow it."

"We need to go over the tapes again. We're meeting in headquarters. You're welcome to join or I could bring you back details," carried on Brent.

"Santana, tell him you won't do this. There's other ways around this," she pleaded. I didn't look away from the screen.
"San," she said, trying to look in my eyes. I finally gave in and met her gaze. "There are so many things that could go wrong. What if they take you too, or worse? We'll get her back but not like this."

"I can't risk it. What if this is our only chance?" I said quietly.

Dani shook her head, refusing to accept it. "Brent, tell her there's other ways."

Brent simply looked away. Dani challenged him, but he walked outside. She stood, smashing her fist on the table and retreated to the bedroom, slamming the door.

I jumped at the aggressive sound. I knew what I had to do and Dani would come around when she realized this was the only way to get Myka back.
I hoped.

Figuring Dani would need some time to cool down, I left her alone and followed Brent to the security base. The video was on all monitors as teams draped themselves over them, combing through for every and any detail that could lead us to Myka. Her voice echoed in my head from the multiple monitors, my name fell from her mouth and her giggle surrounded me. I fought the dizziness that came with the overwhelming feeling of despair. My breath was coming faster.

"Auntie Tana," resounded against the walls of my head. I reached my hand up to stop the vibrations I felt. I tried to take a deep breath as I felt my chest tighten. How was I going to make it through any of this when I couldn't even make it past the first couple of steps in our home base?

"I love you Auntie," came her voice once again.

"Hey," said a voice, calmly and closely. I felt a hand on my arm and back as they guided me into another room of the base. It was quieter. I took a seat and held my head in my hands. Sara knelt down beside me and placed a hand on my knee while I regained my wit. Her touch seemed to ground and bring me back down from my whirlwind of thoughts.

"It's okay, they're going to find her," she whispered.

I nodded, feeling the air fill my lungs once again, "thanks."

She stood and went to the fridge for a bottle of water.

"You know the medics that came to see you when you fainted said you were extremely dehydrated as well," she said handing it to me. "Don't you drink anything while you're up in the sound booth?"

"I try too, but I get so into the music and watching Dani, I forget," I admitted, taking a sip.

"Well, it does make things a lot easier for me when you have a couch attached to your back," she smiled.

I smiled and sat back into the chair, "thanks for bringing me in here. I didn't realize her voice would be everywhere. Every time I hear it, I can't help but think it could be the last time."

"You can't think like that. You need to keep positive thoughts, thinking worst case scenario isn't going to help anyone," reminded Sara, as she sat down in the chair next to me.

I smiled to myself thinking of my girlfriend back in the trailer.

"That's what Dani says all the time," I replied.

Sara looked at the floor at the mention of Dani's name; it was hard to let it go unnoticed.

"I get the feeling Dani isn't a huge fan of mine," she stated.

"What makes you say that?" I said, knowing that the looks Dani could pass would be enough to make anyone feel a cold chill.

"Just a feeling in my stomach. In my line of work, you need to be able to trust that feeling."

"Dani is fiercely loyal and uncompromisingly protective. She doesn't trust people easily, well, usually," I corrected, thinking how easy it was for her to break those walls down for me the moment we met. "But she's trusting you to guard something she loves. Surely, you see why she can be extra hard on you. If you mess up, it's like she messes up. She feels the same way about Myka, like it was her fault."

"She has to know that it wasn't," reassured Sara.

"I've tried telling her that, but I think, deep down, she still blames herself. She has this immense pressure on her shoulders; she tries to take on everything by herself. It's one of her strengths about her that I love but it's also one of her flaws. I wish I could take some of the burden from her but she's so independent. She always has been, she's always needed to be," I said, appreciating the courage Dani has. I brought myself back and saw Sara looking at me with a look.
"What?" I asked.

"Nothing," she shook her head, "it's just the love you can feel by the way you speak about her."

I smiled, grasping the sappiness that was leaking out of me again.

"Anyway," I said, shaking my head. "Stop wearing so much leather and she'll come around."

Understanding that I would be no help in watching my niece over and over again, Sara and I made our way back to the trailer. It was getting dark already as this day seemed to fly by again. The trailer sat in darkness making it look somewhat creepy. I assumed Dani had fallen asleep since she had been awake since yesterday morning, before our world was turned upside. Sara knocked and opened the door. She motioned for me to stay outside while she "secured" the trailer. I rolled my eyes and followed her in. She turned back around and knocked into me.

"I told you to stay outside," she whispered.

"I told you to wear less leather, you think you barging in on Dani still clad is going to go over well?" I hissed back. I walked back to the bedroom where the door was still shut.

"Dani?" I called, before opening the door. There was no answer, I stepped inside and saw a glowing light on the other side of a lump of blankets.

"Babe?" I said again. She had her headphones in and was scribbling down words. She jumped as I leaned down and wrapped an arm around her.

"Hey," she said, pulling out a headphone. "Did they find out anything else?"

"I don't know, I couldn't stand there with her face on every monitor," I admitted. "Brent said he'd update us."

I laid down beside her.

"I'm sorry about earlier," she said, entwining our fingers.

"Don't be, I get it."

"But you're still going to do it," she said, rolling on to her back to look up at me. I looked at our hands.

Nodding, I met her eyes. What I saw there broke my heart. I wanted to tell her everything would be okay and that Myka and I would be home for dinner by tomorrow night but the truth was, I wasn't even sure that would happen. I was scared but I needed to be the rock that Dani needed.

Dani let go of my hand and slid hers into my hair. She looked at me with a look I had seen so many times but tonight, in the glow of her phone light, it said so much more. She leaned up to me and connected our lips. Our kiss was gentle and not rushed. Her soft lips that pressed against mine sent electricity running through my blood. Her free hand travelled under my shirt and pulled me against her body. I was leaning half on her and settled my leg between hers, moving us closer. Our kiss became more heated, our tongues meeting. I moved so I was straddling her hips and pulled my shirt over my head. Dani's hands were on my skin in an instant, running up and down as she took me in. She sat up and I helped her out of her t-shirt. Her hair falling over her shoulders, I took a second to admire her. I took her face in my hands and caressed her cheek with my thumb. She looked up at me with those eyes, her soft smile melting everything in me. I kissed her as she wrapped her arms around me. I moved my hands from her face to her shoulders before finally settling on her bra. I played with it before unsnapping it, letting it fall off her shoulders. She laid back down, bringing me with her.

"Rollover," I whispered in her ear. She smiled and bit her lip. I watched her move underneath me while she flipped to her stomach. She hugged her pillow while I moved back to straddle her hips. Her back was like a blank canvas. I placed my hands on her lower back, feeling the warmth of her skin. I slowly began to make my way up her spine, massaging and kissing as I went. I heard her moan when I reached the more sensitive parts. When I reached her shoulders, I pushed her hair out of the way and dragged my nails across. She leaned in closer and I pulled her earlobe into my mouth. I let my tongue play before moving down her neck. Dani couldn't stand it any longer and rotated back over. She pulled at the button on my jeans and pushed me back to help me out of them. I pulled the blanket off her to uncover she wasn't wearing any pants. I gave her a quick smirk before she pulled off any other barriers and covered us with the blanket. I wanted Dani to feel the way she made me feel all the time with her smile, her eyes and her words. I knew just the way I wanted to show her. I kissed my way down her stomach not stopping until I found what I had came for.

We were a tangled mess as we laid in bed. Dani had her head on my chest as traced her finger along my collarbone. I kissed the top of her head and ran my fingers through her hair.

"Everything will be fine right?" she asked quietly.

"I hope so," I answered.

Her phone rang with a message from where it landed on the floor during our time together. Holding the sheet against me, I reached down to grab it and handed it to her. As she checked it, I reached down and found the paper she had been writing on. It looked like song lyrics.

"What are these?"

"Just a song I was working on. Trying to take my mind off everything," she said, nonchalantly.

"Nightingale? What's it about?" I asked, reading some of the lyrics.

"I think I just wanted someone to be watching over Myka," she answered. "And now you."
I reached for her hand where she sat.

"We'll get through this," I said.

She nodded and changed the subject.

"That was Brent. He wants us to meet with him," she kissed my shoulder and got off the bed. "Should probably find some clothes for this meeting," winked Dani before she headed to the bathroom.

We met Brent in the room Sara showed me off the security base. He came in with an officer who would be guiding me through tomorrow's drop off.

"You'll be wearing a wire, complete with an earpiece and hopefully a camera if we can swing it in time," explained Brent, holding up the small pieces of equipment.

"The video said no wires didn't it? What if she gets suspicious and takes off before we can get Myka?" I asked, worried these precautions would get in the way.

"That's why you wear a simple shirt that is cut a little lower to prove you're not hiding anything. These pieces can be hidden in the tiniest spot without being seen and still hold the same function. We can't risk sending you in there blind. There are too many possibilities," explained the officer.

"I agree. I want every angle covered that we can," added Dani.

"We've already sent a team over now to install camera's so we'll have eyes even if the camera piece doesn't show up in time," reassured Brent. "Now, tomorrow. Santana you'll enter the zoo and walk to the elephant sanctuary. Once you're there, you'll find the bench and leave the bag with the money. We're unable to tell from the video where you'll be able to pick Myka up but we're assuming it won't be far from the area. We're going to send in plain clothed officers who will be close by in case you need immediate assistance. Do you have any questions?"

I tried to take everything in, not wanting to forget any of it.

"What if they're watching the place right now? They'll know that we're setting them up," I pointed out, more concerned for the plan to get Myka than my own safety. I could at least fight for myself.

"They're being very discreet," stated the officer. "You guys should get some rest. Tomorrow is going to be very stressful, having a good night's rest will at least help."

I woke the next morning after a useless sleep. If not for Dani sleeping next to me, I would have been up all night. The moments I managed to actually fall asleep were filled with dreams of Myka being taken all over again. I got up before Dani and looked for a shirt that the officer had described. I was just coming out of the bathroom when Sara knocked on the door.

"Hey," I answered, stepping aside to let her in.

"Morning," she said, "you ready for this?"

"I don't think so, but I really don't have a choice," I answered, honestly.

Sara looked passed me, trying to see into the bedroom.

"Where's Dani?"

"She's sleeping. I was wondering if I should let her sleep until this is over, I know she was up almost as much as I was last night."

"She'll want to be there, you know that," said Sara.

"I know. I'm just worried about her. She has enough to stress about."

"I'm coming. You think I'm going to let you have all the fun," a groggy voice called from the bedroom.

"Good. Now that that's settled," said Sara, holding up a briefcase. " Let's get you hooked up."

She opened the case to reveal two little pieces.

"They couldn't get the camera's but like we said, they've already set up video feed at the zoo in various areas and we'll have eyes from the officers on foot," she explained, handing me the earpiece.

I fiddled with it until I got it in a spot that felt comfortable.

"Okay, take off your shirt."

I raised my eyebrow at her and she tilted her head holding up the wire.

I smiled and lifted my shirt so she could attach the wire. There was a battery pack and a thin wire that needed to be taped to my side boob. Sara was trying to be very professional, however, when Dani emerged from the bedroom I'm sure it didn't look like it.

"Hi friends, what's up? Watcha got there?" she asked, coming over in her footie pajamas.

"It's just the wire Dan," I said, trying not to laugh and encourage her.

"Hmm, let me help with that. It'll make me feel like I'm doing something in the process," she used a mocking tone that I wasn't sure Sara would pick up. Dani took the wire and taped it to the side of my boob before sliding the battery pack into the corner of my bra.

"Thanks," I said, with a smirk.

"No problem," she kissed my forehead. "I'll just be a second."

Sara tried to explain and I held my hand up to stop her, knowing Dani did that on purpose.

We stepped out of the trailer and were walking to the car that Sara had drove the day when another car pulled up beside it. Clive stepped out wearing normal street clothes that I had never seen him in before.

"You didn't think I'd let someone else drive you, did you?" he asked, walking up to us.

"Thanks Clive," I answered, feeling a bit of stress fall away knowing Clive would be close by. I turned to Dani to say something before I left but I didn't know what to say. Words wouldn't come. I didn't want her to know I was scared but I didn't want her to be scared either. Saying nothing seemed like the best idea I had at the moment. She walked into my arms and held me against her.

"Please be careful. I don't know what I'd do without you," she whispered against my neck.

"I will. I promise," I said, holding her back.

"I love you," she said, stepping back to look into my eyes.

"I love you."

At quarter to two in the afternoon, the zoo was packed. I kept telling myself that was a good thing; whether I believed myself or not was another question. I could hear Brent, Sara and the officer from the yesterday in my ear. Brent had said he would be the only one communicating in order to keep the confusion at a minimum but every once and a while I could hear Dani's voice in the background telling someone what to do. I walked down to the elephant's section of the zoo and located the bench. I was told to wait until almost exactly two before moving closer to it. I was wearing large sunglasses, which afforded me the ability to keep an eye out for Myka without being too obvious. I checked my watch, 1:58pm. I walked over to the bench and sat down, placing the bag on my lap. 2:00pm. A phone began to ring, I ignored it at first thinking it was someone else's. After it continued to ring, I looked around the bench and found a cell phone taped to the back of the bench. I looked around before ripping it off and answering.

"Hello?"

"Move to the lower part of the sanctuary, behind the housing unit."

The line went dead before I could ask anything else.

Brent spoke in my ear, "we saw the phone. If she gave you a meeting place, casually touch your ear."

I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear making sure to touch it.

"Okay, we're notifying the officers on the ground, they'll follow you. Walk at a normal pace," said Brent.

I walked towards the housing unit, the bag on my shoulder and the phone in my hand. I turned the corner of the unit expecting to see Myka and instead saw nothing. I was starting to get frustrated with these games.

"Stay calm," I heard Brent say. " The officers are not far behind you."

"Santana." Hearing my name made me jump, I turned to look in the direction of the voice. There was a woman wearing a scarf around her head and face. Something about her seemed familiar but I wasn't sure if that was just my mind playing games on me because I wanted to know who was behind this so bad.

"Where's Myka?" I asked, not seeing her anywhere.

"She's watching the elephants, she doesn't need to be apart of this," replied the woman.

"She's watching the elephants by herself?" I asked, wanting to make sure Brent heard that to relay to the officers.

"Yes, she's a smart kid your niece. She'll be fine," said the feminine figure. "Now, hand over that bag and this will all be over."

"Not until I see Myka," I said, standing my ground.

"Santana, why do you have to make this difficult?" asked the masked being, moving closer to me. I took a step back. "Don't move another step."

"Myka has not been found," said Brent. "Repeat, Myka has not been found. Hold for confirmation."

I was losing my nerve the closer she got to me.

"Do you really think I'd just hand Myka over?" asked the woman. "How do I know there's actually a million dollars in there. It could be blank stacks with covers on them. Do not take me for a fool."

"I wouldn't trick you, we just want our niece back," I stated, trying to sound confident.

"Oh our niece now huh? That's so quaint. Just like a big happy family? Why would you do that to yourself San? Huh?" she said, standing threateningly close. She reached out to touch my hair and I leaned away.

"She deserves a family. People around her that care for her," I said, without thinking.

The pain in my cheek burned as I realized the woman had slapped me.

"What the hell?" I demanded, reaching for my cheek. The woman pounced on me and trapped me against the housing unit.

"Santana!" I heard Dani's voice in my ear, followed by a scuffle.

"You're young and carefree. Why would you want to give that away?" she said, holding my wrists against the wall. "Myka has a mother, let her handle it. Be free."

I had no idea what this lady was saying but I struggle to break free of her hold. She resisted against me using her body to hold me further. She smashed my body against the unit to stop my squirming, pulling my shirt and exposing my wire.

"What is this?" she said, pulling it out. "You little bitch. You shouldn't have done that." She took a couple steps away from me.

"Wait," I said, feeling my window to find Myka closing.

"You ruined it. I had a plan. A perfect plan," she said, beginning to panic. "The perfect plan. Everyone would have won. It was all going to plan."

She kept mumbling and I couldn't hear Brent anymore. I was on my own.

"Listen, the plan is still intact. You didn't hurt me," I said, holding up my hands but quickly hiding them once again when I saw the bruises that were forming. " You can still get away. Just give me Myka and you can have this money."

"NO!" she yelled, it was like she was breaking right in front of me. She didn't seem all that stable.

We heard a stick break from the opposite side of the unit and looked at each other.

"Ana?" I mumbled, catching the woman before she disappeared into the crowed housing unit. I reached up to touch the back of my head and pulled away my hand covered in blood.

"Dammit."
