You know what, I'm sorry, I'm rubbish at updating things.
And I haven't discontinued it
I just really have writers block, and I really want to move on to Order of the Phoenix because I have a lot of ideas, but none for Goblet of Fire
And so, I'll try to get another update this month
Sorry
FRIENDS
I decided that Harry needed consolation, so with Ginny I went downstairs she and I talked, she said Ron would likely be worked up about this, I agreed. It wasn't hard to agree about the way he was acting, "Do you believe Harry?" "Can you believe Harry?" "Why didn't Harry tell us?" He refused to listen to Ginny and I, so I left, I got Harry a stack of toast and went up to find him so we could talk.
"I brought you this… Want to go for a walk?" I asked.
"Good idea," He said gratefully.
We quickly went from the entrance hall to the black lake where the Durmstrang ship was moored. He told me his story, as if begging that I believed him, poor Harry.
"Well of course I knew you hadn't entered yourself. The look on your face when Dumbledore read out your name! But the question is, who did put it in, because Moody's right, Harry…" I sighed. "I don't think any student could have done it… they'd never be able to fool the Goblet or get over Dumbledore's-"
"Have you seen Ron?" He asked, abruptly cutting me off. I withheld my discomfort.
"Erm. . . yes. . . he was at breakfast," I said, hesitating.
"Does he still think I entered myself?"
"Well. . . no, I don't think so . . . not really," I said awkwardly.
"What's that supposed to mean, 'not really'?"
"Oh Harry, isn't it obvious?" I said with desperation. "He's jealous!"
"Jealous?" Harry said incredulously. "Jealous of what? He wants to make a prat of himself in front of the whole school, does he?"
"Look," I said, trying to be patient, "It's always you who gets all the attention, you know it is, I know it's not your fault," I added, as his mouth opened like a guppy, a look of fury on his face. "I know you never ask for it, but… well… you know… Ron's got all those brothers to compete against at home, and you're his best friend, and you're really famous. He's always shunted to one side whenever people see you, and he puts up with it, but I suppose this is one time too many." I said, trying to make Harry sympathize for Ron, he goes through more than most people do.
"Great," said Harry bitterly. "Really great, tell him from me I'll swap any time he wants. Tell him from me he's welcome to it, People gawping at my forehead everywhere I go…"
"I'm not telling him anything," I said shortly, "Tell him yourself, it's the only way to sort this out.
"I'm not running around after him trying to make him grow up!" Harry said, so loudly that several owls in a nearby tree took flight in alarm. "Maybe he'll believe I'm not enjoying myself once I've got my neck broken or…"
The sight of Harry lying in a puddle of blood with his head at an odd angle sent a wave of nausea.
"That's not funny," I said very quietly. "That's not funny at all." I looked extremely anxious, "Harry, I've been thinking… you know what we've got to do, don't you? Straight away, the moment we get back to the castle?"
"Yeah, give Ron a good kick up the -"
"Write to Sirius. You've got to tell him what's happened. He asked you to keep him posted on everything that's going on at Hogwarts. It's almost as if he expected something like this to happen, I brought some parchment and a quill with me…"
"Come off it," said Harry, looking around to check that they couldn't be overheard, but the school grounds were abandoned, everyone breaking fast, "He came back to the country just because my scar twinged. He'll probably come bursting right into the castle if I tell him someone's entered me in the Triwizard Tournament."
"He'd want you to tell him," I told Harry sternly, "He's going to find out anyway."
"How?"
"Harry, this isn't going to be kept quiet," I said to him, very seriously. "This tournament's famous, and you're famous. I'll be really surprised if their isn't anything in the Daily Prophet about you competing… you're already in half the books about You-Know- Who , you know… and Sirius would rather hear it from you, I know he would."
"Okay, okay, I'll write to him," said Harry, throwing his last piece of toast into the lake. We both stood and watched it floating there for a moment, before a massive tentacle rose out of the lake and scooped it down. Then we returned to the castle.
The next few weeks were my worst, between nightmares, Ron being miserable and Harry being miserable I was, reflectively even more miserable. I read that book but I soon learned it was barely any different from those Muggle self-help books my aunt kept trying to buy me to help me with my teenage years. Well, then there was the metaphorical icing on the cake.
"Oh very funny," Harry said, "Really Witty," he looked at the SUPPORT CEDRIC DIGGORY/ POTTER STINKS badges. He was a bit ahead of me, and towards the right. Ron stood behind me, a couple of people back.
"Want one Granger?" Malfoy asked. "I've got loads, but don't touch my hand. I've just washed it you see and I don't want a Mudblood sliming it up."
It rolled off my back; in all honesty I was more worried for Harry and Ron's reactions. Harry grabbed for his wand. Both Harry and Malfoy screamed curses at one another, Harry's hit Goyle and I was hit full in the face by Malfoy's. I felt my front teeth start to lengthen; I clamped my hands over my mouth and tried to stop the growing. Who even invents these stupid spells?
"Hermione!" Ron exclaimed, rushing towards me, he pulled at my hands, he didn't grimace like Harry did, his eyes welled up with concern, I felt them, and now they were past my chin. I let out a cry of distress and tried to cover them up.
"And what is all this noise about?" Snape asked.
Malfoy and Ron and Harry all started shouting, however I think the worst blow was when Snape, looking at my very long teeth said, "I see no difference." Was that all I was? Some frizzy-haired Mudblood with big teeth? I ran away, and I didn't stop, up to the hospital wing, passing Goyle and Crabbe.
"What happened?" Madam Pomfrey asked.
"Mafo and Hawy-" I tried to say "Mafo 'it me wif a spew 'nd mah tee gah big!"
Goyle came in. "Malfoy an' Harry dueled an' I got hit with Harry's spell an' got boils."
She cured his boils in an instant, then she got a mirror and held it up to my face, "Tell me when they're the original size.
The started shrinking, maybe I could let her carry on just a bit… so they were the size of a normal persons. Well, they passed the original size, and they were at a perfect size, "Stop!"
They stopped, perfectly straight and sized, my smile was better.
I knew that because I smiled.
