THIS IS THE LAST CHAPTER! PLEASE ENJOY! :D

I stared out the window of the café, my heart pounding loudly in my ears, my hands becoming hot and sweaty. Was this really going to happen? Could Natsume really regain his memories?

I was exhilarated, but so very nervous.

What if it didn't work, whatever he wanted to try? Could I bear to lose that hope after getting so excited?

My thoughts went haywire before coming to an abrupt stop as the door bell rung with the entrance of a new customer.

Natsume.

I gulped.

He came over with a blank face—something I didn't expect. I thought he would have come with a grin or something. But he didn't.

My heart sped up with uneasiness.

"I think I found a way to regain my memories." He told me once he sat down. "Narumi told me this."

I nodded and waited for him to continue.

"Do you have my alice stone?" He asked and I was taken aback with surprise. I almost forgot about it. I nodded slowly, and his face lit up lightly.

"Narumi said we could—" He was cut off as his phone rang. "Hello?" He paused as he listened to the speaker.

"Luna?" He asked and my heart squeezed at the name. Why was she calling Natsume? Didn't they already break up?

I watched as Natsume's face paled.

"What are you talking about? Where are you?" He asked frantically, clutching onto his phone tighter.

"What's wrong?" I asked, my voice shaking as I saw his face becoming paler. His eyes trained on me with what I could only decipher as fear. He stood up abruptly and almost ran out the door with no explanation other than one word.

"Luna."

I ran after him after throwing some money onto the table.

Why is this happening? I asked myself over and over again as I ran with everything I've got, my lungs burning, my legs aching and my head pounding. Is this really happening?

"Natsume!" I heard Mikan call for me again, but I couldn't stop. Or else I might be too late. I wished she would just stop following me already.

I forced my legs to stop as I came across a red light, the cars flashing by. To my dismay, Mikan caught up to me, her cheeks red and puffing for breath.

"What…happened? Why…are…you running?" She asked between breaths, holding her hands against her knees to catch her breath.

I hailed for a taxi, huffing for breath myself, and when a taxi finally stopped in front of me, I dragged her in almost forcefully.

I told the taxi driver the location hurriedly as I tried to explain the situation to her, my words slurring.

We needed to hurry.

We arrived at Luna's apartment within seven minutes—we kept pressing for the driver to go faster—and ran with all our might into the building. The elevator was much too slow, so much that I almost wanted to run up the stairs, but I knew that we would never be faster than the elevator at reaching the twenty-second floor.

"Luna!" I yelled as I banged on her door, pressing my ear against it to hear for any footsteps or sound.

After a while, no one came, and we couldn't hear anything on the other side of the door. Fear overcame my entire body, from the tips of my hair to my toes. Could she already…?

Then it hit me.

The roof.

I motioned for Mikan to follow me, and we made our way quickly to the roof. Slamming open the door, with the cold air hitting my face, I saw her. For a second, I let myself relax, before seeing what she was going to do.

Luna stood at the very edge of the roof, like she would fall with just a small gust of wind.

She turned to look at me, her face lighting up with joy before quickly turning into anger and disappointment.

"Why?" She croaked, her eyes trained on me. "Why did you come with her? Why didn't you come alone?"

"She was worried about you." I quickly said, Mikan cautiously taking a step behind me. Luna narrowed her eyes, hatred burning bright.

"I don't want her here! Tell her to leave!" She stomped her foot, and I flinched in fear.

"I-I'll leave if you get down from there." Mikan almost squeaked from behind me. "You have something you want to tell him, right? Well, get down from there and you guys can talk. I'll leave, I promise."

"No." Luna shook her head furiously. "Leave now."

"Luna, please." I almost begged. "Get down from there."

"No!" She screamed, stomping her foot again.

"Call the police." I whispered to Mikan, and she nodded quickly, fishing her phone out from her bag.

"What are you two whispering about?" Luna screeched. "You two are already back together, aren't you?"

"We're not—" I tried to explain but she let out a bitter laugh.

"Mikan Sakura, why do you want to steal him from me? Why can't you see that you two aren't destined to be together? I'm the one he should be with! Me! Not you! So why? Why do you keep trying to steal him away from me?" Luna started crying, covering her eyes with her hands.

"I didn't!" Mikan screamed. "I never tried to steal him from you! I wished for your happiness too, because I thought you would be able to give Natsume happiness."

"Lies!" Luna yelled.

"Luna, please, listen to her!" I tried persuading. "She never did anything like that to me."

"Natsume, I love you." She cried. "Don't you love me?"

"I did." My gaze lowered to the ground. "I really did, Luna."

"Why not anymore?" She sniffed. "Why don't you love me anymore? What did I do wrong?"

"You didn't do anything wrong. It's all me. It's my fault. I'm sorry, so please get down from there." I begged but she shook her head.

"This is your last chance, Natsume Hyuuga." She stared at me with her tear stained face. "Get back with me and never contact that girl again."

"What…?" I choked. "Luna, listen—"

"You can't, right?" She smiled bitterly at me. "I knew you couldn't. Spare me your lies, Hyuuga." Then, right when we heard the police siren, Luna turned her back towards us and I heard Mikan scream behind me.

My eyes widened, my body stayed frozen, my heart seemed to stop beating.

Without a moment of hesitation, Luna Koizumi jumped.

It all happened so fast. One second we were still on the roof, the next we were in the ambulance, and then back to the hospital.

I wonder why no matter what I do, I always end up back in the hospital? Though this time, I wasn't the one in the emergency room.

Luna was in the emergency room for over four hours already. Mikan and I sat on the cold plastic chairs lined against the walls, neither saying a word. We just sat there and prayed that everything would be alright.

Then finally, the red light above the room turned off and the doctor came out, along numerous nurses pulling a gurney.

"Are you Luna Koizumi's friends and family?" The doctor asked us and we nodded shakily, seeing his gloves covered in blood.

"Koizumi was very lucky; thank god she didn't fall directly onto the ground. She fell onto canopy of a nearby shop and was able to reduce the force of the fall. She broke her neck and has numerous fractures around her body, but she should be able to recover with a few months of rest and there will be no sequela." The doctor bowed before leaving, and Mikan slumped against me in relief.

It was a week later when we went there to visit Luna again. I hadn't met up with Mikan at all ever since the incident; I felt like the three of us needed to talk one last time.

So Mikan and I went to her hospital room together, hoping this would be the last time.

I knocked on the room door, and heard a horse 'come in.'

"Luna." I greeted softly, opening the door. Her neck was in a cast and there were numerous bandages around her arms and legs. But other than that and a few bruises on her face, she was fine, and it made me relieved.

"We came," Mikan came in after me shyly, "to talk." She turned her head away from us, and though her face was hard, I could see a few drops of tears threatening to pour from her eyes.

"There's nothing I want to say to you. I have nothing left to say." The shake in her voice was barely audible. "Leave."

"Luna, I—" Mikan stood up and tried to say something, but Luna cut her off sharply.

"I said go!" She screamed, clutching onto the bedsheets with all her might. "Don't come back! Go!"

I pushed Mikan towards the door, nodding for her to go. She had tears in her eyes as she nodded and left. I took a step towards Luna's bed, and bowed, my heart throbbing.

"I'm sorry." I croaked. "Thank you."

"Don't come back." She whispered again, and when I lifted my head, her eyes were soft. "Or else I might change my mind."

"Thank you." I whispered again before leaving.

I watched as Natsume left the room, the door closing tightly behind him. I sniffed, and I knew I couldn't hold my tears back anymore. They slid down my face in warm streaks, and I didn't bother to wipe them away.

It was okay to cry.

I was such an idiot.

The door clicked open again, and I quickly tried to wipe my tears away, but stopped when I heard the voice.

"You really are an idiot, Koizumi."

I lifted my head to meet midnight blue eyes.

"Aren't you the boy who confessed to Mikan Sakura?" I narrowed my eyes, the tears forgotten.

"What?" He gasped. "How did you know!?"

"I saw you confess." I sighed. "I'm tired."

"Of course you are." He huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "Trying to jump off a building just to get him, you really are an idiot."

"It was all I could think of." I leaned my head against the pillows. "But it's all useless now. Nothing can break those two apart."

He laughed. "You and me are the same. Brokenhearted."

"You came here just to say that?" I glared at him, who stood grinning.

"No." He grinned. "Well, yeah." I scoffed at him, turning away.

"I actually came to see that there's always someone worse than me." To my surprise, he came over and gave me a pat on the head. "And that one day, I believe we'll both find happiness."

I didn't even realize I was crying again until the door clicked behind him and the drops of salt water fell onto my hands.

It has already been a year. Now that I looked back at everything, a lot has happened. What kickstarted them all was the second Natsume chose to jump out and save that girl from getting hit by that car.

Almost three months ago, after that day Natsume and I went to visit Luna in the hospital, Natsume decided to try out what Narumi had told him. He said that if he consumed both our alice stones, his memories might return.

He fished out my alice stone from his pocket, taking it out of its' yellow drawstring bag. I took off the necklace I always wore; the pendant was his alice stone.

My hands were shaking when I handed it to him, watching as the stones slowly disappeared in his palm. I watched as he closed his eyes, all of a sudden his face losing all color, and he fell onto the ground, unconscious.

He was in a coma for over a month, and when he finally woke up, something seemed different about him.

It was a strange feeling.

I watched as his crimson eyes slowly slid open, blinking a few times, and then turning towards me, Hotaru and Ruka.

"Where am I?" Was the first thing he asked, and for a second I feared that he had forgotten everything again, but then he sat up, clutched his head, and growled.

"I felt like I just had the longest nightmare of my life." He growled softly, running his hands through his raven hair.

"Natsume." Ruka said cautiously, walking over and putting his hand on Natsume's shoulder. "Do you recognize me?"

"What?" Natsume narrowed his eyes at his best friend. "Of course. You're Ruka Nogi."

"Then, what's my rabbit's name?" Ruka's voice went a pitch higher with hope.

"Duh. Usagi." Natsume answered without waiting for a beat.

"When was the first time you kissed Mikan?" Hotaru asked this time, and I almost screamed.

"Christmas ball." Natsume answered, lifting his brow with amusement.

"How old were you when you first met Mikan?" Ruka asked with a grin and Natsume blinked. "Ten."

"Hyuuga." Hotaru give him a punch in the arm. "Welcome back."

"I have so many memories I can't make sense of." Natsume grumbled. "But it's good to be back."

I almost suffocated him with a bear hug.

I smiled again at the thought, looking at myself in the mirror. Really, a lot has happened. And I can't believe this is finally happening.

"Mikan." Hotaru knocked on the door. "It's time." I took a deep breath, looking at myself one more time, before opening the door and following Hotaru, who had on a gentle smile.

Familiar music was playing when I entered the church, my long, strapless, golden wedding dress dragging behind me. My hair was let down, curled, with the headdress clipped on with a golden tiara. In my hands were a bouquet of yellow daffodils. Everyone was here today: Sumire, Koko, Kitsu, Anna, Nono, Yuu and Mochu. Even Narumi-sensei, Misaki-sensei and—wait, Jinno!?

I almost tripped.

Hotaru was of course, standing next to Ruka. Even Tsubasa was there with…Misaki! When did they get together!?

They all waved at me, and I gave them the most beautiful smile I could muster. I waited for this day for so long already.

Waiting in front of me was the man I knew I was destined to be with. He smiled gently at me, taking my hand in his. Everything seemed just like a long dream. I almost couldn't believe that everything really happened.

The two words that came out of both our lips were the words I always dreamed of hearing. The ring that I wore proudly was something nothing on earth could replace.

That day was April 8, 2014.
