"Where's Letty, Dom ? Where's Letty?!"-Vince, Fast Five-

In the first movie I felt that Letty was 'one of the guys'.. she went with Vince shopping for the BBQ, she was disappointed when Vince left after he saw Brian was there, she greeted Vince when he came back for BBQ... but when Vince said those lines in Rio.. I felt something deeper, stronger. Like she was important to Vince.

"Shit!" Letty gasped as she saw Vince received a punch on his face, making him stumbled backwards and bumped to a dirty gravity covered wall, she pulled the handle break, got out of the Maxima and ran to help him.

He was in an alley behind a sleazy bar in the not so friendly part of LA. His opponent was two guys, obviously more sober than Vince, much older and stronger. One was wearing a baseball cap, had a thick beard and big body. The other one was skinny, short and had an appearance like some college frat boy. She gripped the frat boy's belt from behind and pulled him away from Vince with all her might, throwing him hard across the dark alley.

The bearded guy saw her and gripped her left hand, Letty growled, she really don't have time for this. She reached to her right boot with her right hand and pulled a knife from inside it.

"Hands off fatty!" She swiftly slit her knife to his hand. It was a small cut, deep enough to cause pain and drew blood, but not enough to actually hurt the guy. The guy released her hand, swearing in pain he clutched the cut. She spun and stepped between him and Vince, protecting her drunk friend.

"That's just a warning. Now, BACK OFF!" She shouted, flicking her knife to intimidate him. The guy raised his hand in surrender and walked backwards to his skinny friend. They both looked at each other and walked back inside the bar.

Letty put her knife back in her boots. She turned around and took a good look at Vince. How the hell did the nineteen year old end up in here? Well, she knew why.. She just didn't understand why of all the place he could be, he chooses this dump?

When she received the phone call from Mia, saying that Vince Lil' brother died this morning, she knew, storm was brewing. Vince was not the type of person who can handle lost and sadness well. He tend to lash it out somewhere then drew himself to some dark corner. When she arrived at Vince's house, it was too late. His Maxima was still parked in the drive way, but he was long gone.

They searched everywhere, the Toretto house, basement, the garage, Mr.T's grave, even her own basement where he once hid himself when he was in the ninth grade. Not a trace of Vince. Mia thought of the possibility of Vince visiting Dom in Lompoc, but it was not visiting day, he had to make an appointment first before going, so they leave that option out. Instead they split up and search around LA.

Letty lowered herself and crouched in front of him.

"V.." She called him.

He looked up, his left eye swollen, his nose broken and bleeding, his lips busted.

"Let's go home, V"

"No.." His voice croaked, he winched and hissed as he staggered to force himself up. Letty reached out a hand to help him, but he pushed it away. He huffed and leaned back on the wall, his breath ragged and smelled of alcohol. She gritted her teeth with the rejection.

Letty stood and stepped closer, until she can feel his breath on her face. She tried once more and ran her hand on his cheek, this time he didn't fight her and he let her cupped his face to force him to look at her. She narrowed her eyes.

"Vincent. We are going home" she said with a commanding tone.

"Anywhere Let.. Anywhere.. but home" he whispered his plea and closed his eyes in defeat.

"Yeah, Mi. I got him, he's a mess... No, he just need some time... It's okay... No, don't, just tell them I'm fine... Alright, I'll call you. Bye"

Letty ended her call and put her phone on her night stand.

"Thanks" she heard Vince said from behind her. He was laying on the far side of her bed nursing his swollen eyes with ice, while she sat on the other side, she shrugged her shoulders, not looking back. She reached for the bloody cotton balls and wet wipes and threw them to the garbage can in the corner of her room.

"You need more ice?" she asked.

"No, I'm fine"

"I'm gonna grab a bite" Letty stood from the bed.

"Don't" Vince grabbed her hand, feeling how warm it is compared to his bruised knuckles. He tugged it gently, "Please, stay with me"

She turned and looked at his pleading eyes.

"Just.. Stay.." He asked once more, putting down the ice on her night stand.

She didn't say anything, but she laid back on the bed. The both laid there in silence.

"I didn't know you still got the knife" Vince finally said after a few minutes of awkward silence.

"Yeah, well.. I won it from a silly boy who challenged me to a fight when I was in third grade.. So it got history.."

"Smart-ass" he nudged her with his elbow. She smiled. "You'll never gonna let me live that out huh?"

"Are you kidding me? Never" she grinned.

"You know.. That day was the time when Andy first went to ICU"

"I know, Mia told me a few days after it.. I'm sorry V, I didn't know it back then"

"It's okay.. It's not your fault. I just need someone to lash it out"

"Yeah, I noticed. Your coordination was off, your anger was your only fuel, that's why it's easy to beat you"

He sighed. "I'm gonna miss Andy"

Letty reached his hand and squeezed it gently, gesturing her support for him.

"His funeral is held tomorrow. Are you coming?" she lowered her tone, knowing this is a sensitive subject for him, especially now.

"I don't.. No!.. It's.. I don't think so.." He shook his head.

"I'll be there.. We're all gonna be there for you. Leon, Mia-"

"I don't wanna watch my little brother get buried! He didn't deserve it!" He jerk upward and snapped at her, pulling his hand away from her hold. "He is the sweetest person I've ever known! He didn't deserve any of it! He didn't deserve the fucking cancer! the fucking ten years of fucking chemo, all the fucking needles poking him.. He cried every night, they were hurting him! and it breaks my heart.. whenever I saw him" He shouted until his voice cracked and turn to a sob.

'And that's why you rarely go to your own home and drown yourself in party, booze and bitches..' her mind silently adds, but she didn't say it. This is too heart breaking.

Letty sat up and looked at him with gentle gaze, his eyes filled with tears, his face red with emotion. Letty reached out a hand to caress his face, his hair. He bowed his head, surrendering himself to the pain. She pulled him to her embrace and let his tears wet her shoulder.

"He didn't deserve it Let.. He didn't deserve it.. It's so unfair.. He never get the life he wanted" he whispered to her skin, despair lingered in his voice.

She didn't say a word, she just held him in her arms. Honestly, she knew not a single word would have the power to ease the pain, she have been on his spot when she lost her dad. All those 'be strong', 'he's in a better place' crap, they don't do shit. Only time can heal this kind of pain. So it didn't matter if her joints cramped and sore from the awkward position, didn't matter if her mom caught her in bed with Vince crying on her shoulder. She'd give him exactly what he needs.

Time.

I've been in a major block this few months, and I'm just posting what I've wrote before and add a few edit. I guess it's only fair that I tell you guys, that I'm ending this story when I'm out of stock, probably two or three more chapters.

Thank you :)
