It was hard for both Santana and Quinn to do this whole friends thing, mainly because they had never really been friends before. Even before they started their thing it was all shameless flirting on both parts, mainly Santana's but Quinn still got one in here and there. But now, to go from sleeping together to just friends, it wasn't an easy transition.

For Santana, she didn't really want to go back to the way she was before, she didn't just want to casually hook up anymore, and she wanted something bigger. She wanted to find someone, someone who made her feel like Quinn made her feel. But that didn't mean she wouldn't hook up now and then, she still had urges and well, they needed to be fulfilled.

It was hard for her, trying to be friends with Quinn. It was hard for her not to flirt with Quinn because that's all her mind was telling her to do. It was hard for her not to kiss Quinn whenever she saw her, because that's what she was used to doing. She got used to having Quinn whenever she wanted her, she got used to sleeping with Quinn and being with Quinn and now she had to go back to venturing for herself. She got comfortable around Quinn so now, she basically had to get rid of everything she had learned in the time she and Quinn spent together.

For Quinn, it was different but yet the same. It was the same in the aspect that without Santana she felt lost, she had gotten used to being with Santana that now they weren't together she wasn't sure how to act and behave. Not being with Santana any more meant Quinn spent more time with Puck, it wasn't the same. Puck didn't excite Quinn, Puck didn't make Quinn feel special, he didn't exactly please Quinn, the only thing that was even a little bit of a positive was that being with him was familiar, being with Puck was safe so to speak because they had been together for so long she knew what it was like with him, but she was starting to see that even this wasn't a reason to be with him.

Quinn started to feel a lot lonelier now that she wasn't with Santana, so that only meant one thing, the only thing she could do to feel wanted by someone. She spent more nights in the arms of Pucks because she was so used to being in Santana's arms when she slept that she needed to be wrapped in someone's arms for her to fall asleep. Although her plan didn't exactly work so well, sure it helped in the sense that she could sleep better when in the bed with someone else, but she never slept as well as she did when she was with Santana. Santana made her feel safe and comfortable, when Santana was pressed up against her back or when Quinn cuddled in to Santana with her head resting in the crook of Santana's neck, this was the time when Quinn felt the most peaceful.

They say that a person has the best sleep of their life when in the arms of someone they love, maybe that should have been an eye opener for Quinn. But her problem was that she didn't want to give that an extra thought, because it meant she had to figure out some things which she never thought she would have to, it meant she would have to ask her self some questions which she wasn't comfortable answering.

Quinn constantly found herself thinking back to the moment Santana told her that they had to end things between them, she thought back to the way she responded to Santana's words. She couldn't help but think it she would have acted the same way if it were Puck telling her those words instead of Santana, deep down she knew she wouldn't and what got to her the most was that she was sure that if it were Puck in that position, telling her that they were over, she wouldn't even care.

It had been just under two weeks since things ended between to two of them, it was tough but somehow they made it work. It worked because they wouldn't spend long in each other's presence when they were alone, so in the mornings when either one of them was there it would be a quick hello and then they would be on their way. They only really spent time together when they did things with the group. It was much easier that way as the awkwardness of how they should act when they were around each other decreased as they could just talk to the others.

Some things that also didn't help were that Brittany and Mercedes knew about their past relationship with one another. It wasn't Brittany that was the problem but Mercedes sometimes liked to send an extra-long glance their way when they were stood next to each other or any other interaction. Like she seemed to take everything they did and took it into a larger proportion and out of context.

Quinn was tired of how she and Santana were creeping around each other; it's not how things were meant to be. When Santana said they should be friends Quinn at least thought that she would still have some sort of relationship with Santana, that they would continue acting the same way towards each other only minus the sex.

She was sitting on her bed in the dorm room listening to some music, she was waiting for Santana to get back because once she was back Quinn wanted to talk to her. She wanted them to have a real conversation with each other; she basically wanted a conversation with Santana so they could get back to how they used to be.

Around 40 minutes after she got back the door opened, telling her that Santana was now home. She took her headphones out of her ears and eyed the door watching Santana walk through it.

Santana entered the room and as soon as she did she saw Quinn sitting on her bed, only two weeks again she would be joining Quinn on that bed and they would be enjoying each other's presence but now she just walked in and sat down on her own.

"Hey" Santana said as she sat down, taking her jacket off and throwing it onto the chair in the corner of the room.

"Hey" Quinn returned, giving Santana a small smile. "San, can we talk?" she asked, she had to get what she needed to stay out because she couldn't stand how things were going between them anymore.

"Um, sure" Santana felt her heart beat a little faster at those words, whenever someone says 'can we talk' you can't help but think about the many possibilities at what the topic of conversation would be. "What about? Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?"

Quinn smiled at the fact that Santana asked if she was okay first, like even after all they've been through she at least knew that Santana still cared.

"I'm fine but I want to talk about us"

"Oh, okay…" if Santana was honest, she didn't have it in her to have another conversation about her and Quinn. It drained her because what she really wanted, she couldn't have.

"You said that we should be friends, but lately all we've been doing is avoiding each other. We only really spend time with each other when we're in big groups of people. I want us to go back to the way we were before" Quinn said.

Santana sighed, Quinn was right she had been avoiding her, mainly because she didn't know if she could handle being alone with Quinn but if they were going to be friends they had to get over it eventually.

"Quinn I told you that we can't go back to sleeping together"

Quinn blushed slightly at the mention of this. "No, that's not what I meant" It's not what she meant but she sure as hell wants to go back to it. "I mean that I want us to go back to the way we behaved around each other only this time we don't…"

"Have sex?" Santana finished.

"Yes"

Santana thought about it, she decided that it was the best option. She too didn't like the way they had been acting towards each other. It was seriously awkward because she loved the way she and Quinn were towards each other when they had their thing going on. There was nothing more she loved than talking to Quinn, it was easy with her, they bounced off each other, challenged each other and Santana needed that back in her life. These past two weeks without it just were not the same.

"I want that too" Santana said.

"Really?" Quinn had to ask because she didn't think that it would be that easy to get Santana to agree.

"Yeah, I missed talking to you Q" Santana admitted, she missed it more than words could say.

Quinn couldn't help the grin that arrived on her face as she heard those words. She almost felt shy at the fact that through five simple words could get her to feel like butterflies were erupting in her stomach.

"I missed talking to you too" she replied.

"So, how have you been?" Santana asked, she actually wanted to know since she and Quinn hadn't properly talked in two weeks so she had no idea how Quinn was doing or what she had been up to.

"I'm okay I guess, got a few tests coming up so I've got a lot to learn" Quinn couldn't exactly say she was happy, she wasn't, she was far from it. She only really ever felt happy when she was with Santana, but she wasn't going to admit that, not now. "What about you?"

"Same I guess you know we could probably help each other out with the work, make it seem less unbearable" Santana suggested.

"Help each other out how?"

"I don't know, maybe like quiz each other, help the other learn it."

Quinn liked the idea, mainly because it meant she would spend more time with Santana and to her that was a definite bonus.

"Okay, deal."

"Alright, so how do you want to do this? I ask you a question and if you get it right you I don't know, get a prize?"

Quinn can't help but chuckle at this. "A prize? What are we? Twelve"

"Oh, fuck you"

Yes please. Quinn thought.

"I was just trying to suggest something. What's your idea then?"

"A prize could work" Quinn said. "But what kind of prize?"

Santana thought for a moment before replying, she got off her bed and made her way over to her cupboard where she retrieved a bottle of vodka. "How about this, since it's a Friday, for every answer you get wrong you have to take a drink"

Quinn didn't know if it was a good idea to be alone and drinking with Santana since she tended to want to do very bad things when she had alcohol in her system when in the presence of the brunette in front of her, but then again this is the type of things friends do, so why the hell not, it was a Friday night after all.

"Deal, so what shall we start with?"

"Well, we're both in the same psychology; let's start there because I have absolutely no idea about anything in that subject." Santana said.

"Looks like someone's going to get extremely drunk then" Quinn smirked.

"We'll just see about that Fabray, I may surprise you with my knowledge" Santana returned but even she knew that she was screwed with this one.

"Alright, so question one is…."

Two hours later and the girls were both extremely drunk. They had both gotten through the bottle of vodka pretty quickly; it could have been because when in class instead of listening to the lecturer Santana took the opportunity to sext Quinn. She especially did this when they were in their psychology lecture because she loved to see the way Quinn acted once seeing her text.

About half an hour ago they turned to doing dares instead of drinking. Some of the past dares were those linked to doing something embarrassing which made the other laugh in hysterics. The last dare Quinn made Santana do was to run around the room doing a chicken dance, maybe it was because she was drunk but it made Quinn cry with laughter. But then for Quinn's dare Santana made Quinn knock on people's doors and when they opened them Quinn would throw skittles at them and shout "Taste the rainbow" and then run away.

Currently she and Santana were sat on the floor, their shoulders were touching one another's and they were leaning against Quinn bed. They had just come back from Quinn's dare and now, it was Santana's turn.

"Alright Fabray, dare me" Santana drunkenly slurred.

Quinn in her drunken mind could only think of one thing she wanted Santana to do. Right now, she was drunk and didn't care about consequences or what was right and what was wrong.

She turned her head to look at Santana.

"Kiss me"
