The next day Alana was at school again, the weekend was over and she was still thinking about those crazy strange boys, it's like she knew them... It's probably nothing though. Rumors were going around that Felix, Jake and Sam were being questioned by the police, Alana wished she could help. Break came along, finally, she set off down the field where she usually likes to go and read, she then saw Sam, Jake and Felix. She walked up to them with a spring in her step.
"Hi, I heard about this morning, I was wondering if I could help in any way." Alana said with a smile, Felix turned round.
"Yes, do you know anything about where Alice's book of shadows might be?" Felix said.
"I think Phoebe threw out all the magic book stuff but she didn't tell me about anything, she doesn't really know that I'm a witch." Alana said looking down.
"Wait, your mum doesn't know?" Jake asked, he remembered how in the other universe how she was so honest and open with her mother about her powers. Alana shook her head.
"No, I think she'd freak out and remember bad memories of Alice." Alana said sadly.
"So you can definitely use powers?" Sam asked, Alana nodded.
"All elements. Except spirit, I can't seem to connect to it very well and I didn't have the chance to learn it." Alana said, Felix looked confused, back in the other world she was so inexperienced with her powers, Alana looked around, she held out both her hands, one hand held a flame, the other a blob of water, she clapped her hands together and they disappeared into steam. Then she swung her arm and the tree above them blew the other way. The boys were fascinated, Alana stomped the ground and the ground shook a little.
"That is so cool!" Sam said excitedly.
"Maybe she can help us connect with our elements." Jake suggested, the other boys agreed.
"First I need to contact Oscar, he can help us find the book of shadows." Felix said, he pulled out his phone and dialed his number to tell him. They walked back into the school and decided to look for him, they came across Ellen. She was acting suspicious and was asking questions.
"And who's she? I thought we were going to a movie." Ellen said looking at Alana.
"Oh no we're just friends, this is my boyfriend, I'm just helping them find Oscar." Alana lied standing next to Jake. Ellen looked suspicious still and walked off.
"Sorry Jake. And Felix, I could sense she liked you and you like her, I didn't want to cause you any trouble." Alana explained Jake just smiled.
"It's fine." Felix said, Felix nodded about liking Ellen but Alana being here with them bring back those powerful memories of her. 'Remember me!' Felix had that sentence etched into his brain, he even wrote a song about it last night it was bothering him so much, even though she was here with him, she wasn't. He had to forget her though. He had to get those feelings out because it was different now.
"The skip, there's a skip outside the magic shop it could be in there." Alana said, the boys nodded, they set off down there.
"Wait are you allowed to leave school?" Felix asked, remembering how she got bullied and was allowed to leave school. Alana nodded.
"Yeah I don't a lot now though." Alana said, it must be something that remained the same, Felix thought.
"Because you're bullied, right?" Jake added, Alana nodded with confusion.
"I think it's time you should tell me why you know too much about me." Alana suggested. Felix looked at Jake, he nodded.
"When we disappeared, we went to another dimension, it was like this one but different, no one knew us. You barely knew how to use powers and your mum knew everything about you, my brother Oscar who's currently in a wheelchair could walk, Jake's mum was married to Mr Bates!" Felix began, Alana nodded in fascination
"You also... Really, really liked me, a lot. I liked you too and we kissed and you were my girlfriend for a short period of time before coming back here." Felix admitted, turning pink and rubbing the back of his head, Alana looked uncertain.
"A goth? Is that really what the other me goes for?" Alana said looking a little weirded out.
"Thanks..." Felix said, feeling hurt.
"Hey, I'm sorry, if the other me really did like you, this me must like you as well." Alana said with a smile, Felix blushed and smiled too.
"But that's just so cool how I was so open with my mum, I literally tell her nothing. We're close but, I'm scared she'll just remember bad memories." Alana said sadly thinking of when Alice left.
"Why don't you just tell her?" Jake asked, coming into the conversation.
"She'd freak out. She'd freak out and would never let me leave the house, she's too paranoid and scared about me like she's being with Alice now, not letting her use magic, keeping her inside. It's too risky if I tell her." Alana replied quite sadly.
"You'll be fine though, she loves you a lot." Jake added, Alana smiled. The three made it to Phoebe's old shop Arcane Lane, but the skip was gone.
"It was right here!" Felix said with frustration. Alana was walking around the shop and getting emotional, she loved the shop and how magical it was, Oscar was there too, yet Felix said he should return back to school.
"I can't believe they got rid of it though, there were things I wanted to retrieve." Alana said sadly, then Jake pointed, there was a pile of bins with the shops content chucked into them.
"I'm not getting in there." Alana said, swatting away flies
"I wanted to retrieve things in there, oh I missed it so much." Said Jake acting like Alana, she gently hit him while laughing.
"Do we just dive in or what?" Sam asked, the group shrugged. They all got in apart from Alana, she stayed out of it and looking through boxes Felix was handing to her.
"So many wind chimes and incense and candles." Alana said rummaging through boxes. Then Felix got a call, it was Oscar and he knew where the book of shadows was. They left the bins and ran off down to the lake.
"Oh brilliant." Alana said as she slipped on mud, ruining her school dress. Felix ran to her aid, something he was mostly doing back in the other universe.
"Are you alright?" Felix asked pulling her up, his heart was beating so fast at how close he was.
"Yeah come on!" Alana said smiling normally and pulling Felix with him by the hand. They looked around for newly buried mud, Jake found a hole, it was empty except for a blanket left in there.
"She beat us to it." Jake said as they looked down at the hole...
