Chapter 11- And So They Meet

The hustle of a thousand sweating bodies packed together once again with few chances of moving around them is not a pleasant experience at all, but Ashley did not want to turn around. Those Frog brothers really got on her nerves and was willing to go through this darn crowd just to finally catch up to her sister. Mina had to hold onto her just so they wouldn't get lost. She felt bad about dragging Mina into this, but there was no way she was stopping. Luckily, the more they move forward the less people there was, and before they knew it, they finally were able to walk freely. Fresh air was now available, and they decided to slow down to enjoy it.

"About time!" Mina exclaimed, using the comic book as a fan.

"Are you going to throw that away, afterwards?" Ashley almost forgot the stupid comic about vampires.

"Not yet, it's my portable fan for the moment. Plus, it is entertaining. Look at the way they drew this guy!" Mina flipped the pages to an image of a scary looking vampire.

"Oh, come on, Mina! That thing will only get you nightmares." Ashley rolled her eyes but had to admit that the image was kind of cool. Dark grey smoke that swirled into a vampire with black clothing, spider like claws, glowing red eyes, and a hideous snarled face with large sharp fangs ready to devour its victim.

"Fine! I'll tuck it away in my bag, but I think your sister might like it." Mina placed it in the bag with her AC/DC poster.

"What makes you say that?"

"Well, I don't think she would want the comic about the Adventures of Quik Bunny."
"Good point."

No, Ashley always knew that her sister loved all things dark and weird. But the nerve of those Frog Brothers! They think that her sister is part of a group that really believe themselves to be vampires. How ridiculous! She made a mental note to herself swearing that if she ever saw them again, she would give them a piece of her mind! Ashley was so lost in thought that she wasn't watching where she was going, and before Mina could warn her, accidentally bumped into someone.

"Whoa!" Ashley lost her balance and was about to fall, but someone suddenly grabbed her before she reached the ground.

"Careful there." A deep soothing male voice spoke as he helped her back on her feet.

"Thank you…" Ashley froze when she got a good look at who helped her. He was tall with dark clothing and long black hair. The fierce jaguar on his jacket was recognizable anywhere. He was one of the Lost Boys! Ashley did not know what to do next, she was amazed at how close he was and the fact that he was very handsome did not help at all. Luckily, Mina came to the rescue!

"Ashley! Are you…?" Mina stopped to look at the stranger. For a moment it seemed as though she was going to freeze like Ashley, but quickly got back to her senses.

"Oh, sorry about that! We were on our way to the Boardwalk Memories store to see a friend." Mina dashed a large smile. She too was smitten by the handsome stranger.

"I'm on my way there, too. I've never seen you two around before." Spoke the beautiful stranger.

"Well, I tend to be on the Boardwalk by day, but my friend Ashley here is new and now we have the chance to explore and get to meet new people at night." Mina continued casually as she gently nudged toward Ashley who still hasn't spoken. She noticed but did not want to worry in front of the guy.

"Ashley? Are you Elizabeth's sister?"

"Yes! She told you about me?" Ashley finally broke under the little spell and could not believe how many people already knew about her and her sister.

"Yeah. She's been in our group for some time now. She loves talking about you. I'm Dwayne, by the way." He extended his hand that sported a fingerless leather glove.

"Nice to meet you! Well, I guess I should also thank you for preventing my fall?" She could not help but to blush as they shook hands. What was wrong with her?

"Don't sweat it. And your friend is…"

"Mina! Pleasure to meet you!" Mina was not timid in taking his hand and shaking it more than Ashley.

"Well, I guess we should head down the store now that the crowd is finally gone. I was on my way to seeing the rest of the gang."

"Yeah." Ashley replied

"Absolutely!" Mina gleefully agreed. She shared a look with Ashley as if they just hit the jackpot. Ashley just rolled her eyes, but the blush would not go away.

Elizabeth was now pacing back and forth, looking frantically at her surroundings. Kim and she were done for the night and were waiting outside to see if this time Ashley would show up. Why did it not occur to her to get her number and call her?! Tonight, she was more nervous than usual because not only Kim was out there waiting with her, but Marko too. They were both sitting on a bench nearby, watching her go nuts.

"So, should I go talk to her, or will you do the honors?" Kim quietly asked Marko.

"It's my turn. Plus, I never get tired of hugging her." Marko smirked looking at Elizabeth. She was dressed in a simple black tank top that had Siouxsie and The Banshees and nicely fitted light blue jeans with her favorite beatle boots.

"Hugging her? Are you sure that's all?" Kim teased.

'Shut up!" He quickly told her before getting up to walk towards his nervous girlfriend.

Elizabeth didn't notice he was right behind her and when she twirled around, she was swiped into his arms. He loved the surprised look on her face.

"Babe, you need to relax."

"I know, it's just, I really wanted to her to meet you. I don't know how much longer Max or David will wait…' Elizabeth began, concern written on her face.

"They can wait! We've been the living dead for so long, it won't kill them." He held her gently, enjoying the warmth her body gave off.

Elizabeth's features got darker as she glanced into the distance. She started to realize something she hadn't before. The decision that she would have accepted in a heart beat was now not as tempting as before. This new gut feeling was telling her to not go on with what she originally wanted to do. Not after being reunited with her sister. There were so many doubts now. Marko noticed her look and was about to ask when Kim suddenly blurted out something.

"Hey! She's here!"

Marko and Elizabeth looked towards the new figures coming towards them. Ashley and Mina were now sprinting towards them with smiling faces, especially Ashley. Elizabeth could not help herself and escape Marko's embrace as she ran up to her little sister. They hugged each other tight as if it were the last time. Elizabeth then noticed someone come up to them with a gentle look on his face against that dark hair of his.

"Now I see why you don't stop talking about her." Dwayne smirked at the sight of the sisters.

"You finally showed up!" Marko exclaimed cheerfully, coming from behind Elizabeth.

"So, I take it you met Ashley?" Elizabeth asked Dwayne as she let go of her sister.

"Yeah, he showed us back." Ashley answered for him, she then noticed Marko. He too was quite handsome and there was something so cheerful about him. Maybe it was that Cheshire smile that he sported.

"Ashley, this is Marko. He's my boyfriend I talked to you about." Elizabeth introduced her to him. She hoped she liked him.

"Well, it's nice to finally meet you!" Marko gently took her hand and placed a soft kiss on it. Ashley could feel her face heat up. Not again! Thankfully she could still speak this time.

"Nice to meet you too! This is my good friend, Mina!" Ashley was about to reach out for her, but she suddenly was standing next to her.

"Hi! I just have to say that you and Elizabeth make a cute couple!" Mina could not help but gush at them.

"Thanks! Glad to see you all approve." Marko stated as he gently put an arm around Elizabeth's waist.

'They sure don't mind being affectionate in public'. Ashley thought.

"And I am the lovely Kim! But you all know that!" Kim came out of nowhere and began to pose as if she were in a photo shoot. They all laughed at her antics, when suddenly they heard the roaring of motorcycles nearby. They all turned to look at the nearby sound and found that it belonged to the rest of the Lost Boys, parking their bikes nearby. The one who sported the wild golden blonde lion's mane came up to them with a mischievous smirk and bounce to his step. Ashley could clearly tell he was the life of the party.

"Now wait a minute! Are you guys having fun without me?!" He pretended to be hurt and pouted.

"Stop it, Paul. You'll creep out Elizabeth's sister." Dwayne rolled his eyes at his friend, but still had a small smile to his lips.

"Angel's Sister! We finally get to meet you! Come here!" Before Ashley could say a word, Paul gulped her up in a bear hug and swung her around for a bit before placing her back on her feet.

"Paul! I need her to fully aware of her surroundings, now she all dizzy!" Elizabeth shouted at him as she got a good grip of her arm to help her keep her balance. She was coming back to senses soon, thankfully.

"Well… now that's a way to greet someone." A dark alluring voice spoke as the person approached them. Ashley almost immediately didn't feel dizzy anymore. She got a good look at the remaining Lost Boy. It was the guy with black outfit and platinum blonde hair in a nice mullet. The smirk on his face didn't make her feel welcomed, instead it looked like he was mocking her. His eyes were a piercing icy blue that had a strange look to them. For reasons unknown to her, she instantly did not feel comfortable around this guy. It was as if he was hiding something dangerous.

"What a pleasure to meet you, Ashley." He extended his hand, which was covered in a leather glove. This only added more to her suspicions.

"This is David. The leader of the Lost Boys." Elizabeth introduced him. Her grip on her arm and the rest of her body language got a bit protective and tense. Did she not trust him? Why is she introducing him to her then?

"It's nice to meet you, too." Ashley tried not to show the fear she was feeling as she shook his hand but thought she might be failing. It was surprising to see how gentle his handshake was, though.

"This is her friend Mina!" Kim gently shoved Mina to face David. She apparently did not feel comfortable around him either. But like Ashley, she tried not to show it and be polite.

"It's a real honor to meet the leader of the group!" She laughed a bit nervously as she extended her hand. He gently took it.
"The more the merrier." His mocking smirk did not change.

Suddenly Paul came in between Ashley and Elizabeth and wrapped an arm around each one.

"Well, since we are all reunited, let's have the time of our lives!"

"Yeah! There's a rock concert I wanted to check out that should be starting anytime soon." Kim exclaimed.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" David stated as he led them to their motorcycles.

"I call dibs on Ash-Baby!" Paul grabbed Ashley's hand and mounted her on his motorcycle before anyone could say another word.

"You better not ride like a maniac! The point is to get her to like you not be frightened." Elizabeth yelled with her hands on her hips.

"Relax, I'll be careful. You like me don't you Ash-Baby?" Paul turned to look at Ashley with sparkling eyes.

If this were someone who was not associated with her sister, she wouldn't have trusted him. But there was something about his obnoxious childlike behavior that she did like and found it easy not to want to be friends.

"Yeah, I trust you." Ashley gently smiled.

"Whoa-hoo! Seems like I got myself a new sister!" He practically bounced on the motorcycle and started to rev it up.

"I'll be watching you." Elizabeth rolled her eyes and walked to where Marko was waiting for her on his own bike.

Ashley looked over to see how they were paired up. She saw that Mina was right behind Dwayne and the girl did not mind at all, with her pearly whites showing in a huge grin. When she looked over to find Kim, she saw her casually taking her place with David. She didn't seem bothered by him and thought maybe she was just being paranoid. Not everyone is going to flush over a stranger on the first meeting.

"Hold on tight Ash-Baby!" Paul pulled her out of her train of thought, and she did what she was told.

She was grateful that he warned her, because the sudden burst of wind at her face as the motorcycle ran could have knocked her out of her sit. At first, she was scared to death but after awhile she dared to open her eyes and found how exciting it was. Paul began to holler his excitement and the rest of the Lost Boys did too. She even got a glimpse of Mina enjoying the ride and hollering with them. Marko's motorcycle came close by and for a moment Elizabeth and she shared a look of pure happiness. They all rode into the night, heading to the best parts of the Boardwalk.

Business was slow today for the Frog Brothers, so they decide to head outside to one of the nearby picnic table outside the comic store. Suddenly a quick burst of laughs and running motorcycles could be heard. Looking over at the strangers, they soon realized that it was the girl and her friend who they talked to a few moments ago. They were with the Lost Boys, riding away in bliss.

"Aw, great! More missing people on the way." Grunted Edgar. He angrily took his fork and began chowing down his Chinese food.

"But the girl said that it's her sister. Maybe they won't harm them this time." Alan reasoned as he gently took his own portion. Edgar gulped down his part before speaking.

"They're evil creatures of the night! They probably have them hypnotized and toying around with them before taking the last meal!"

"But that long-haired girl has been with them for a while now and is still human. You don't think her test to be turned into one be of them would involve her sister, do you?" Alan said with some concern.

"I don't know. But they haven't been killing random people anymore, so there might be a chance Ashley lives. We should stay here until they come back, I saw her the other day coming back to that souvenir store." Edgar said the last part involving Ashley more quietly.

"You saw her before?" Alan was surprised. His brother did not pay any attention to girls before, especially not when they started their mission as vampire hunters. He then began to smirk.

"Oh… You like her."

"C'mon! Get real! I only noticed her because she is affiliated with that girl now. There is no way of having a normal life now that we have dedicated ourselves to justice! So, don't even thing of such foolish things." Edgar picked up is plate to wolf it down and hide the stupid blush that was forming. But it didn't escape Alan, who only smiled to himself and quietly returned to eating his food. He so digs her.

I have returned from the grave! Now I didn't mean to go missing, but sometimes life gets in the way, and boy did I go through a lot! But no worries, I am back. I was thinking of giving up on this story, but NO! I will finish what I started. I hope you all can enjoy the new chapter and I will try to get quicker on posting the next one.
