Miku walks back to her house. She plops on her bed and starts crying into her pillow. After a while, Miku falls asleep and drifts into a dream...
Miku sees someone. It's Kaito, but it doesn't look like Kaito. He's human, and so is she. They are in a room with medical equipment. He is holding a violin.
The human Miku says, "Play for me one last time."
The boy starts playing a sad sounding song. His playing is exceptional, and he uses so much passion, one would think he believes this is the last time he will ever play.
The girl smiles. "Thank you..."
Scientists run in, and both children look scared. They inject them with a solution, and both of them become limp. The violin falls out of the boy's hands and it shatters on the ground. The scientists work around it. They are changing the bodies of the boy and the girl. The girl looks like Miku when they are done, and the boy looks like Kaito. The scientists leave the limp vocaloids in the room with the broken violin...
Miku wakes up. A single tear runs down her face.
"Why is this happening to me? Is there something wrong with my mind? They just left the violin, without trying to fix it... And why were they us? Should I go see the master?"
She looks at her phone. "Should I call the others?" She looks back down. "I don't know what to do anymore. Maybe I'm going crazy."
Her stomach grumbles.
"Or maybe I'm just hungry."
Miku goes to her kitchen and grabs a pudding. She thinks.
"I shouldn't be this hungry if I just came home from the cafe a while ago..."
She leans on the counter and thinks some more.
"I probably shouldn't go to anyone else's house. I could get a similar scene to Kaito."
Miku sits down and sighs.
Meanwhile, at Kaito's house, he finds a phone on a table. The background picture is of Miku. He looks through more of the pictures on the phone. There are pictures of them together, but he can't remember taking any of them. He gets up, and his chest hurts. He lifts his shirt to reveal the scar from a wound.
"When did this get there? How did I not notice it before..."
He walks to his fridge. "When did I get so much cake and pudding?"
He looks in the fridge a little longer and picks out a chocolate cake. He eats in the living room.
Kaito is still really confused. He looks through more pictures that he can't remember.
"Hmm... This must be why she was so upset."
He then checks his contact section of his phone. There are many numbers of other vocaloids. He sees Meiko's number, then the one vocaloid she called IA. Kaito finds Miku's number.
He texts her: I'm really sorry about before. Do you think you can help me by explaining some things?
A couple seconds later, he gets a text back.
It reads: I'll be there in thirty minutes.
Kaito hears a knock on the door while he's washing his plate.
He shouts, "Come in!"
Miku enters the room. "Hey, Kaito. You wanted to see me?"
He puts the plate on the counter. "Yeah. Come, sit."
Miku sits on the couch, while Kaito sits in a chair in front of her.
Miku looks at him. "Sooooo... What do you need?"
"I was looking through my phone and saw these." He shows the pictures on his phone. "I don't remember any of these. Also, I'm wounded and I have a bunch of pudding! When did I get so much pudding...?"
"Well, the pudding is mine. There should be cake too. That's also mine. The pictures on your phone were taken on different dates we had. But I don't recall you ever having a wound."
"When was the last time you saw me before I couldn't remember?"
"The cafe."
Kaito asks, "How long ago was that?"
"I don't know anymore. And when I woke up, I was in different clothes... Something must have happened after the cafe."
"Is there anyone we could ask?"
Miku shakes her head. "I tried calling IA, she was there with us, but she didn't pick up."
"Oh." Kaito looks at the pictures on his phone again. "Maybe if you tell me about these it will help me remember something. We have nothing to lose, right?"
Miku says, "Okay. Give me your hand. It will be easier to show you." She takes his hand. "Play back memories with code 00-01-9384." Numbers scroll behind Miku's eyes, and her memories start to play in Kaito's head. After a while she says, "Playback complete." She looks tired.
Kaito looks at her. "Are you okay?"
Miku waves it off. "Yeah. This stuff always happens when I import information." She rubs her head.
Kaito looks a bit confused. "I need some ice cream... Do you want anything?"
"Grab me a pudding."
A look flickers over Kaito's face; he is smiling. "Alright, hon-" He stops, and the look vanishes. "What just happened?"
Miku gives a small gasp. "Kaito?"
Kaito shakes his head. "Ice cream and pudding... Got it."
He grabs a pudding out of the fridge and then moves to the freezer. He grabs a full container of ice cream, and then grabs two spoons from a cabinet. He then sits next to Miku awkwardly. He hands her the pudding and a spoon.
He says, "Here you go."
Miku takes the pudding. "Thanks." She smiles weakly. "You still have a thing for ice cream."
They eat for a bit. Miku looks at the cookie dough bits in his ice cream. Kaito notices.
"Do you want some?"
Miku nods.
"You can have some if you like."
Miku takes a bit of the ice cream, but only a spoonful. She feels weird about taking too much.
Miku swallows. "So, what were we talking about?"
"The memories."
"Oh, yeah. So, what did you think?"
Kaito blushes. "Is that really how you feel when you're around me?"
Miku blushes even harder. "Errrr..." She calms down and looks up at him. "You saw the cafe memory, right?"
"Yeah. Is there anyone else we can see about the missing memories?"
Miku thinks. "Well... Possibly."
"Who? Maybe they can help me recover my memories."
Miku replies, "The master."
Kaito gets up; he looks determined. "Alright then! Let's go fix our memories!"
Miku sighs, "I hope."
