Hey! I want to warn you now...There are two bad words later on (Just to show that Jack does, in fact, know bad words but just usually never says them; And that the situation really ticks someone off(You'll see)) Depending on what you define as bad words...maybe one. Anyway, I don't own RotG or any of the characters mentioned, used, or who will be mentioned.

The shadows attacked and they were pulled into nothingness. They knew they were still awake and alive as they could breathe, but no sound came from the action. In fact, there was no sound in any way. No wind, no rustling of clothes, no magical sound of snowflakes they were accustomed to when going into memories. Just noiseless nothingness that was almost like when they were with Loneliness again.

"Augh!" A voice shouted into their nothingness and suddenly, everything was so white, it was painfully blinding. Jack stood on the edge of a large glacier and was holding something in his hand. Looking closer, they saw it was his tooth canister. He rushed to the end of the large chunk of ice and tried tossing the thing. He tried it another few times before grimacing at himself and the golden tube that rattled with teeth. Before any Guardian could say anything, a dark shape appeared behind the teen. Pitch.

They proceeded to fight with each other; ice crashing into ebony sand. With a thrust upward, foggy mist swirled around and finally settled to reveal a large ice sculpture made from black and blue.

"Woah!"

"Vhat the-"

"That's amazing."

'Darkness and cold go well with each other,' Sandy concluded as he thought about it with a serious expression that no one else noticed like usual.

"We don't have to be alone, Jack," Pitch stated as he walked around the spirit who was thinking, "I believe in you. And I know children will too."

"In me?" The white-haired boy asked so quietly that the Guardians weren't sure they'd heard him.

"Yes!" The man chuckled as he threw his hand into the air at the huge statue, "Look at what we can do! What goes together better than cold and dark!"

Pitch continued to talk, but the Guardians couldn't understand what he was saying. They could see the reflections of the two on the ice block as Jack curiously looked the ice up and down. Before either did anything else, the group was plunged into darkness as everything faded away. They were left in the dark for the same amount of time as the last before Jack appeared on some stairs in the middle of a very dark room.

"Stop it!" He shouted as he gripped his ears almost like he was in pain, "Stop it!"

The shadows around Jack pulled themselves back as Pitch stepped in front of the boy.

"After all, you're not one of them." He stated with a hint of a chuckle as the teen aimed his staff at him.

"You don't know what I am!"

"Of course I do. You're Jack Frost. You make a mess wherever you go," the man paused for a second to let it sink in before he stood even taller, "Why, you're doing it right now."

The man stepped back into the shadows before he tossed something at Jack who caught it. Barely noticing that what he now held was his tooth canister, they all felt an intense panic flow through their system although they had no idea what was planned.

"What did you do?"

"More to the point, Jack," The man laughed as everything disappeared except for his eyes and mouth, "What did you do?"

The winter spirit shouted as he raced after the man. Frost crackled off of his staff before he disappeared, and the Guardians heard something crunch under his feet after he slammed his hands down on a dead end behind him. He seemed to pause, shaken up by what had happened. Wild, white hair whipped around as he suddenly seemed to remember something important.

"Baby Tooth!"

"Happy Easter, Jack."

They felt dread run through their bodies when they saw what was under the boy's feet. It was smashed egg shells that had been destroyed that Easter. They were there long enough to watch the devastated look fly across the boy's face before they were thrown into darkness once again. The next thing they knew, they were in another scene as Jack flew through the air with a frown on his face. A blizzard was brewing in the cold, dark surroundings, but Jack didn't seem concerned about that. As he flew in the wicked wind, his icy eyes glanced around for a few minutes before they settled on something on the ground. Diving towards the ground, he quickly went up to what he'd been looking for. The Guardians eyes widened as they saw that it was a child lying in the snow. The child was a little boy who looked about six-years-old. His skin was a blue-white shade and brown eyes stared into the distance as he shivered slightly.

"Come on, kid," Jack stood before the boy with a worried expression, "Please survive."

The winter spirit reached his arms out to the boy, trying to lift him up to get him out of the blizzard when the boy cried and scooted back. Jack grimaced as he tried once again only to get the same reaction.

"Kid," Jack sighed patiently as he sat next to the boy who didn't completely seem aware of what was going on, "Why did you have to be out in the blizzard? I just saw you, what, two hours ago? You have a family, a home, somewhere you belong! And you run out in a blizzard?"

Like expected, the child didn't answer; whether it was from the cold, not being able to hear the spirit or both, the Guardians weren't sure. They watched on sadly as Jack once again tried to grab the kid. It sort of worked this time, as the boy didn't even attempt to move away; however, Jack's hooded arms faded through the child like they normally did as he almost growled.

"Why can't I save you?" He shouted to the air as he slumped into his previous spot beside the kid. Staring at the boy who was breathing shallowly, tears filled his eyes as he made a few shapes appear above the boy. In it was a dog made of frost that chased a little boy and a large house behind the two of them. The boy smiled a little bit at the images as they moved.

"I'm sorry," Jack stated as he leaned closer to the kid who drowsily watched the snow in front of his eyes, "I really should have been paying attention to people before I made the blizzard. I just can't-couldn't help it. It was a blizzard or weeks of unbearable pain...Learned enough from '68 to know that I can't hold it back."

Bunny felt a flash of guilt run through his body at the mentioning of the Blizzard of '68. He had messed up so much. No wonder Darkness was so irate at him.

The boy just continued to watch the snow as it turned into a child riding a horse on a sunny day.

"I'm not going to let you end up like the first kid," Jack sighed as he sat almost touching the boy, "No one's going to find you out here. At least...at least I can take the pain away."

Frosty breath swirled its way out of Jack's mouth as the wind whipped through the pine trees around them. The frost curled itself around the boy's body; arms and legs to the chest before it leaped down the child's open mouth. One final breath left the boy as he gasped quietly before the light faded from his now closed eyes. Jack looked at the boy sadly before he settled down like he was going to wait a long time.

Once again, the darkness grabbed them with a tight grip as they thought about how the teen had to kill a small child to end his suffering. They all felt tears well up in their eyes, yet none fell as the pitch blackness continued to surround them. Ready to question when they'd watch another memory or get out of the dark, the darkness faded away as they saw nightmares surrounding them at every corner. Looking towards the middle of their vision, they saw Sandy on a large, golden cloud fighting off the black mares.

That's when they realized, they were watching the scene from Jack's view.

Floating through the air at a faster speed than they had ever felt, even on North's sleigh, they felt dread shift through their whole being as Jack shouted.

"NO!"

They felt the cool wood under Jack's fingers as he gripped the staff even tighter as he was launched towards the crowd of dark creatures. Startling the four, they heard Jack's thoughts during the process as the wind whipped him closer every millisecond.

'Sandy!' The shout sounded very loud as a little bit of anger settled into their bodies, 'If Pitch does anything to you, I am going to kill him!'

The Guardians were shocked at the level of assurance there was in the threat. He sounded like he'd follow through with it, and they didn't doubt he could do it. In a way, it made them proud that he'd do so much to protect the people he cared about, but at the same time, they all felt a little intimidated that he'd do it. This was not a side of Jack that they were used to. But then, they were in his head to learn more about their newest family member.

'Come on, Wind!' He shouted in his mind as he flattened himself for better aerodynamic purposes, 'Faster! If Sandy dies, I don't know what I'll do. I get everyone I care about killed."

They didn't have a chance to think before the arrow plunged into Sandy's back. They watched with despair growing in their hearts as Jack watched him fall. One act of defiance later, the sandy man disappeared with a flash as Pitch cackled. Red filled their vision as a wave of sand flew at them. They all closed their eyes and prepared for pain, but only a flash happened as they felt Jack's arms were thrown out and hands thrust together in a clap. Blue lights flooded their still closed eyes.

They were plunged into a darkness that felt different from the last few times. This darkness seemed to squeeze their bodies until they could barely breathe. Wondering when this madness would stop, they heard a startled shout in the blackness around them.

"Dad!"

The voice was easily noted to be a young child, and a gunshot accompanied the boy's cry. Sounds of crying joined in the mix as a man shouted something to what seemed like his followers. Something seemed to shift as the darkness let them go a tiny bit as a light grew.

'I will not let him harm you,' a voice whispered into the grayness around them, 'Even if I have to die to do it, so shall I do it. I did promise your parents.'

The light flickered a few times before it completely died off this time. Soon, just before they thought they'd lose conscientiousness, they were suddenly flung onto the floor and gasping for air.

"And you call yourselves protectors," the boy laughed as he stood just outside of the cage, "Who's going to protect you though?"

"I don't know about you," called a voice that was a little bit higher pitched than they were used to, "But I've been known to do some crazy stuff! Been meaning to add being a superhero in there somewhere."

"Fuck!" Darkness glowered as he glanced around. Something in the corner shifted in a strange way, and soon, the shadows pulled at it. It was a small book-like object, and the emotion was soon thoroughly confused.

"I know you wanna open it!" The voice exclaimed excitedly as Darkness glared around him, and the Guardians watched in amazement, "Just one peek!?"

"Damn you!" The teen throw the book at the wall as he shouted, "I know you're up to something! Come out right now and I don't have to hurt you!"

"Where's the fun in that?" The voice pouted, but nevertheless came out of nowhere, "You're a meanie! You know that, right?"

"Mis-" The spirit who now interrupted Darkness stood in their line of sight. Just by looking at him, the Guardians could sense an air of troublemaker attached to this teen. His silver hair was streaked with frosty blue tones and was much spikier and wilder than their Jack's. His clothes looked like a more modern version of Jack's clothes which consisted of a light blue hoodie, brown jeans, and of course, no shoes. Small stains were littered across his clothes kind of like some type of spray paint got on him. His megawatt smile would have made anyone suspicious yet also would have caused them to smile.

"You need to get out more often," the emotion stated as he carelessly walked up to the glaring Darkness, "All this "alone time" as you like to call it is making you go crazy. Just like Gramps. And I thought you'd like-no, I thought you'd love the gift I made..."

"No," Darkness growled in annoyance as the other just grinned, "I hate your gifts, and I hate you. Now leave us alone so I can torture these pesky 'Guardians' until they bleed."

"Clev is going to be annoyed when they don't come at the appointed time!"

"Don't mess around," he hissed as the shadows warped, "I'm not scared of Clev or you or Guide or whoever you're going to mention next."

"Fun wouldn't like you doing this," Darkness froze with a wary expression as the other smirked.

"He can't leave the core," Darkness glared as pointy teeth flared, "Fun has been stuck there ever since his human form existed."

"Aw!" The emotion snickered as he touched the cage holding Guide, "Someone's afraid!"

"Just leave, Mischief," he scowled angrily as said emotion just shrugged and faded away.

"I had to try, right?"

Darkness shook his head as he sighed deeply before he frowned while staring at the book that had been left behind. Scowling deeper than before, he curiously grabbed it by the spine.

"What was his plan? The Wonders of A Balanced Life," He muttered the title under his breath as he carefully opened it. Nothing happened for the first full minute before suddenly, an icy foam shot out at the surprised emotion. Dark azure eyes widened as it rushed at him faster than anyone could follow.

Slamming into the wall behind him, Darkness groaned as the foam expanded until only his head, unoccupied left hand, and right foot were uncovered. With his concentration subverted, the cages flickered and melted out of existence as Guide quickly whipped the wind into pushing the Guardians into a run. They didn't need much prompting before the five raced away from the now screaming Darkness who was attempting to break free of the jelly-like substance. Not bothering to look back, they kept racing beyond even after the creepy place faded away.

Trust me, I won't be using bad words often (just to empathize the situation and such) Being alone and around for three hundred years would have taught Jack a lot of cuss words if he had heard some adults (and even kids) talking. I've already been typing the next chapter, so get ready to meet Clev!
