~Journey Down Memory Lane~
Philippines sit back on the couch with her tea. She opens her photo book to where she left off. Philippines drew many paintings of America (scenery) when she first arrived there and the picture she is looking at is one of the first pictures she drew there.
\\Flashback :D/
America drove up to a vast building. He parked to in front of the building.
"Is that you house?" Philippines asked as she sets out of America's car.
"Yep." America answers. He led her to front of his house.
Philippines walked up to America's giant house. "Does you're house have to be that big?" Philippines asked America.
"Of course." America answered. Philippines sighed. What did she get herself into? When they reached the front door, one of America's servants opened the door for them. When the door opened, it showed a beautiful room. There were two mass, marble staircases leading to the second floor. At the base of the stairs were giant flower vases. In the center of it all was a grand, white piano. Philippines entered the house and looked up to the high ceiling. The night sky was painted on the ceiling. America snapped her out from her amazement and directed her to a smaller room. It wasn't as great as the room that she was last in but it was nice in a sort of cozy way. When walked in, the fireplace was the first thing you see. Then there were two couches sitting across from themselves. In between the couches was a table. She sat herself on one of the velvet couches.
"Henry, will you get me and Miss. Philippines a cup of tea." America ordered one of his servants to do. He drew his attention to Philippines. "Tell me; what was is like under Spain's rule?"
Philippines thought about the question for a while. "Let's see…when I first meet Spain was when he kidnapped me from my islands. On first year or two when I was under Spain's control, I hated him. Over the years, he grew me. Then I started to call him papa because he acted like a father to me. He protected me and taught me the things I know. However, one day, I decided to go back to my islands. Spain tried to stop but he was too late. I saw everything. I saw the way he tortured my people. It was awful. I lost all respect for him. It pained me to see my father betray me like that." While Philippines spoke, the memories start to flood back to her. She remembered the happy times with Spain and then all her unwanted memories that brought her pain. Philippines almost started to cry.
"Are you okay?" America asked, he noticed Philippines eyes getting glassy.
Philippines shook her head. "I'll be fine." she answered. She began to dab her eyes with a handkerchief. "I shouldn't be talking about my pain like this. You wouldn't understand."
America snorted. "Oh yes I would. I was England's underling for a time. It was awful. My people didn't get fair treatment. The man I looked up to was treating me with disrespect. I felt a sort of betray. He raised me and cared for me but I find him terrorizing my people. The feeling was awful." Philippines looked at America. She saw a familiar look on his face because she saw that look on her own face everyday. The two countries sat there in depressed silenced.
"I'm sorry to bring this up. It must bring back bad memories." America said.
"It's okay." Philippines replied.
"Philippines." America said. "I want to help you in you becoming independent. It's going to be hard since you have been in Spain's house for so long but, I believe that you can do it. I promise to help you along the way." Philippines gazed into America's eyes. What she saw was a man that would keep his word. So she knew that she would get her independence soon.

Philippines get up to refill her tea. It is nice to go back to her memories but lately they kept on getting more depressing. She sits back down on the couch and turns the next page in her book. This is a photo of her old room in America. She smiles. Finally, a good memory to look at.
\\Flashback (again!)/
Philippines looked out at the night sky from her bedroom window. She watched the fireflies float around her. She wanted to be outside with looking up at the night sky. America made her a commonwealth so she kind of stuck here in her room. Oh how she wanted to go outside. So she opened her window. There was a tree next to her room so she used it to climb down to the ground. Her long white dress almost made her fall but she caught herself before she did. When she reached the ground, she could feel the cool wet grass beneath her feet. Philippines began to walk toward the beach that she and America use to sit on when they drank tea.
Philippines sat on the bench and looked up at the night sky. She wondered what it was like to be up there, up in the night sky not caring what going on the ground. She wondered what it was like to be free from anyone's grasp. Then she heard a noise behind her and she turned. She saw America walking toward her.
'What is he doing here?' Philippines thought. 'What am I going to do? He's coming towards me. Oh shi-'
"Philippines." America said as he sat beside her. He didn't wear his usual attire but khakis and a buttoned up white shirt. It was very formal for him. "You have been avoiding me for the past couple months, what's wrong."
The last thing America said pulled Philippines last nerve. "What is wrong!" she screamed. "What is WRONG! I'll tell you what's wrong. You said you'll help me get my independence but instead you make me a commonwealth. A commonwealth!"
America saw Philippines anger and tried to calm her down. "You becoming a commonwealth is a big step to becoming towards an independent country. By 1946 I promise you that you will be independent."
Philippines rolled her eyes. "Yeah sure. And I know well you keep your promises."
"Philippine I'm trying and-"
"America." Philippines interrupted. "Have you ever looked at the stars and wondered what it would be like to up there."
The way Philippines changed the subject so quickly, it kind of threw America off. "Well…uh…"
"When I was little, I loved looking up at the stars." Philippines said. "I thought they were the most beautiful thing in the world. I remember Spain promising me that he would capture the stars for me. Even though it was a sweet thought, I started to cry. I told him that I didn't want to take the star's freedom in the skies. I told him that I wanted him to turn me into a star so I go up in the sky and be free. It was a stupid idea but, sometimes I find myself thinking about it and thinking that it wouldn't such a bad idea. To be star."
"You know what. It isn't such a bad idea." America said.

"Philippines! Philippines!" America exclaimed. "Get up! Get up!"
"What the hell do you want?" Philippines moaned.
"Get dressed, we're going on a date." America said.
Philippines shot up and screamed, "What?!"
=Philippines "Hetalia"=
"I hate you." Philippines said across the table to America. They were at a restaurant eating hamburgers.
"Come on. Have some fun, why don't you." America smiled. Philippines just sighed and decided to just go with it. She ended up having fun. America showed her to his favorite haunts. That date was the first date Philippines went on with America. They stayed out 'til night before they went home.
"That was so fun." Philippines said as she clutched the bear America won for her at a fair.
"Wait until you get home." America said. When they reached the house America blindfolded Philippines and lead her to her surprise. When they reached the surprised America removed the blindfold. "Surprised!" Philippines gasped with surprise. They were in a bedroom with a glass ceiling that showed the night sky.
"You may not be up there with the stars but you can always be there watching them." America said.
Philippines turned and hugged America. "Thank you…"
