Halfway through the night InuYasha started tossing and turning in his sleep. Feeling his movement, Kagome quickly woke up from her sleep. Placing her hand on his forehead, she found he was burning up with fever. Due to Kagome's still injured ankle, she slowly crawled on her hands and knees to the water bucket.

Taking a rag she found in her backpack, she dipped it in the water making it wet. Crawling back to her spot beside InuYasha. Once she was by his side, she placed the wet rag on his forehead. She felt so helpless she didn't know what more she could do for him. His face was wet with sweat, and his chest wound had reopened from his restless sleep.

Kagome quickly went to her first aid kit. On her way back to InuYasha. Miroku asked if she needed help?

"No Miroku...I'm good...I can handle it."

"Okay." Replied Miroku.

Sitting down next to InuYasha, Kagome noticed he was talking in his sleep. She quietly listened while rewrapping his wounds.

"Ka..go..me...please..I need you." Mumbled InuYasha in his sleep.

Kagome set back, just staring. 'Did he just say...he needs me?' After Kagome finished bandaging his wounds, she went to make the rag wet again. As she went for the rag, InuYasha slowly opened his eyes.

"Kag...one?" InuYasha quietly said.

"Shh! I'm right here InuYasha." Kagome said while placing her hand on his.

"But...you...how...I."

"It's okay InuYasha. I'm here just rest, we'll talk in the morning." Kagome said giving his hand a little squeeze. With a nodd his eyes slowly closed.

The night was long for Kagome, she kept a close eye on InuYasha for the rest of the night. Trying her hardest to keep him comfortable. She only had two more hours till sunrise. But they were the longest two hours of her life.

As the sun slowly rose so did InuYasha. His black hair slowly turned to its beautiful silver. And his eyes turned back to their stunning golden color. Rising up on his elbows, InuYasha looked to his side. There he found Kagome sitting there watching him.

"Hey there! How are you feeling this morning InuYasha?" Asked Kagome with a smile.

"Better! Thanks to you Kagome." InuYasha said while picking up her hands. "Why are you here though? I thought ."

"No InuYasha! When you came and saw me with... Shouhei. It...it wasn't what you thought . My friends they set me up with him to go on a date. I didn't want to go, but they wouldn't stop bugging me about it. The only place I wanted to be was with you. Oh InuYasha it was horrible." She said throwing her arms around his neck.

When she started crying into his shoulder. He was shocked to say the least. He was surprised, after all he never expected to see Kagome again. After a short pause from the surprise. InuYasha put his arms around her, lightly hugging her.

InuYasha listened as Kagome cried into his shoulder. She explained everything from the date. And how Shouhei attack her after the date at her home, and at school.

"That bastared!" Growled InuYasha as he held Kagome close. "You're safe now Kagome. No one will lay a hand on you again, not while I'm around."

"Thank you InuYasha." Said Kagome

Taking Kagome by her shoulders, InuYasha pulled her back to look into her eyes. Placing a finger under her chin, he tipped her head back. When her eyes met his, they couldn't help share at each other for awhile.

"I missed you Kagome." InuYasha said before kissing her on the lips. The kiss was long and meaningful , with neither wanting to stop. But the need for air stopped them.

"I missed you to InuYasha." Said Kagome still looking in his eyes.

"Am I interrupting anything?" Ask Miroku.

"Keh! Not really monk we were just leaving." Said annoyed InuYasha while picking Kagome up bridal style.

"Where do you think there off to Miroku?" Asked Sango walking up to her husband.

"I think we both know the answer to that question my dear Sango. But I'm not sure I'm ready for another InuYasha!"

"MIROKU!" Sango yelled.
