Chapter 11

Inuyasha POV

"Don't even try to get out of this bed! I will go get the wheel chair. Just stay put!" Exclaims Kagome as I try to get off the bed. "I need to pee now though!" I yell back. "Inuyasha! Ceases this insanity! Kagome go get his wheel chair. He will be in the bed when you return," my dad jumps into our conversation. I take a deep breath, cross my arms, grumble, and lay back in the bed.

She returns about two minutes later with the dreaded wheel chair. She helps me into it, and I kiss her on the cheek when I'm comfortable. I reach for the wheels, but my father's hand stops me from touching them. "Your muscles are still recovering," he states flatly. I'm pushed to the bathroom at the end of the hall. After I do my business, I am pushed back to my room and placed in the bed.

"I hate being treated like a baby," I grumble as I lay in the bed. Kagome kisses me and whispers, "But you are my baby, baby." I smile at her, and we kiss.

As we kiss, Doctor Shoji and the physical therapist enter the room. Doctor Shoji clears his throat and we end the kiss. I look up at her and smile. "I should go pick up Shiori and Souta," she states. She kisses my forehead and walks out the door.

"How are you feeling today, Inuyasha?" Asks Dr. Shoji. "Alright I guess. When can I walk again, or atleast use crutches. I hate that wheel chair," I reply. "Probably not for anothe two weeks. You have to remember that your leg bone was sticking out of your body, and your ankle wasn't much better. Not to mention you have torn arm muscles. And not just a few muscles, more than half the muscles in your arms. Your recovery isn't going to be as fast as usual," he states. I huff and cross my arms, wincing as I do it.

"This is Ms. Ana, and she will be your physical therapist. She won't start until your casts are off though," Dr. Shoji says cheerily. I nod and my father replies, "Thank you for introducing us. I'm Inutaisho, but you can call me Tai. It's a pleasure." She giggles and smiles, "Ana. It's nice to meet you too." They smile and stare at each other for a minute or two before looking away. I've never seen dad smile so much, not since mom.

As they leave, Shiori, Souta, and Kagome come back in. "Do you feel better Shay? Are you coming home soon?" Shiori asks as she jumps up and down. "I feel better now that you're here, but I don't know when I'm getting out," I reply. She giggles but you can see her deflate. "What's wrong, squirt?" I ask and gesture for her to sit with me. She climbs on the bed and whispers, "I just miss you, Shay," she replies and cuddles closer. I wince slightly and dad stands up. He is about to yell but I shake my head at him and lip 'It's fine.'

At 10:00 o'clock on the dot, everyone has to leave. Visiting hours are over. Shiori hugs me, kisses my forehead, and whispers, "Love you, Shay. I'll see ya tomorrow." Souta gives me a light high five and a wave. Dad kisses my forehead and says, "I love you." Kagome kisses me and says, "I love you so much. Don't do anything stupid." "Since when do I do stupid things?" I grin at her. She laughs and shakes her head. We kiss once more before she leaves.

It's midnight and I can't sleep. My arms have pain shooting up and down them. Plus I need to pee. There's a nurse call button next to my bed, but there's also a pair of crutches in the corner of the room. The bathroom is only down the hall, and crutches can't be that hard to use.

I stand up from my bed and collapse on the ground. I haven't been on my feet in almost three weeks. I take a deep breath and try to lift myself to my feet. I push up on my arms and bite my lip to stop myself from crying out in pain.

After a few minutes and some deep breaths, I try again. I make it to a sitting position, then use the bed as a support to stand up. My arms are throbbing, and my legs are wobbly. I put slight pressure in my broken leg and ankle, but it hurts too much to keep it there. I lift it up so I mon one leg.

I hobble over to the corner, using everything in the room I can reach as support. I finally reach the crutches and put them under my arms. I relax in them slightly, but they hurt my shoulders. I grab the hand bars and the pain in my arms intensifies, but I need to pee. I make it to the hallway and start to hobble down it with the crutches. Every step feels like a mile.

I finally make it to the bathroom, and I pee quickly. I start my journey back to my room, but I collapse in the hallway about half way there. The crutches fly a few feet away, but they are out of my reach. My body is exhausted from this adventure. I just lay on the floor and try to sleep. There's nothing else I can do.

I'm woken that morning by a nurse yelling my name then her yelling at someone to get Dr. Shoji. I flutter my eyes open, and she sighs relieved. "Thank God above that you're alive! What happened last night, Inuyasha?" She asks frantically. I don't get to answer though because Dr. Shoji shows up, "Inuyasha, what on earth were you doing? We've told you numerous times to stay in your bed! If you need anything, you have a nurse call button! This isn't helping your recovery!" He sounds like a father scolding his child. My puppy ears lay flat on my head and I look down.

He brings me a wheel chair and gets me back to my bed. "I'm going to call your father, then you can tell me what happened," he states. I nod and he smiles. About ten minutes later Dr. Shoji comes back. "You're father is very worried. Now why don't you tell me what happened," he asks with a smile. "I couldn't sleep and I needed to pee," I started. He cut me off before I could continue, "Why couldn't you sleep?" "My arms were hurting, and it was distracting," I reply. "You should have called a nurse immediately. Whenever you're in pain, call a nurse," he commands. I nod, and he motions to continue. "I saw crutches in the corner of the room and thought I could make it to the bathroom," I state. "How many times have we told you 'No Crutches!'" He asks. "A lot I guess. I got out of bed and fell. I haven't used my legs in a while. I tried to get up, but my arms started throbbing from using them. I finally made it to the crutches. I made it to the bathroom and half way back. I collapsed and knew i wasn't getting back up, so I slept. Then you found me the morning," I finish the story. He's shaking his head, "Those crutches aren't staying in the room. Use a whe chair and have someone push it for you."

My dad runs in with Shiori in his arms. "What happened?" The yell in unison. I open my mouth, but Dr. Shoji holds his hand up to silence me. "Let's go somewhere more private. Inuyasha needs rest. I'll tell you the story," Dr. Shoji states with a smile. I rest my head on the pillow and close my eyes as the leave the room. 'What have I done?'
