A/N: So, as promised, here's the next chapter. I'll try to get another chapter up soon, but I won't make any assurance on when. It will take longer than usual because of school. Just be patient my dears, I hope you would still support my fic. I promise to write when I can. I hope you won't bail on my fic.

They were frustrated at the 'girl on fire' at first, but their rage grew even more after the interviews. Once again, she managed to steal that spotlight. Heck, even her district partner did, but maybe they could use him to get the girl. Maybe he could lead them to that fire girl to kill her quickly. He'll surely be following her, it's obvious with his confession.

They had supper and were commanded to go to bed to prepare for the next day. They were to leave early in the morning to be carried by a hovercraft into the arena. But with Clove being Clove, she didn't give a shit about what they said. Deciding to not sleep yet, she carefully makes her way out of her room, checking the hallway to see if anyone else was still awake or could possibly see her up at night. Confident enough that their floor was silent and dark enough only lit by a few lamplights and the lights of the city seen from the window, she proceeds to the door beside the elevator.

The capital city of Panem still showed life even though it was this time of night. They say that there was once a city that never slept, long before the dark days and Panem, back in the civilization before them. The called the city 'New York', it was always shining bright with life, even at night. The city never lost its life throughout the day, especially in one place in the city known as 'Times Square'. The roars of cars and the melody of music coming from different buildings, sounds from different signs and projectors and people filling the streets. They say it was beautiful, maybe this time the Capitol was trying to include that part of the past into the present. The city wasn't as busy as day but the Capitol still had a lot of people walking around the square. It wasn't Clove's type of place, so she decided to go to a place where she could get some peace and quiet as well as train herself for just a little bit more before everything goes down the next day.

It was afterhours so the elevator was turned off. Tributes weren't allowed to be out of their compartments afterhours or roam the city at night, so Clove keeps her movements as small as possible to not gather any attention around her. By this time, not much Peacekeepers are on patrol considering that it is The Capitol and they weren't put into deep duty in the city knowing that there is nothing much to worry about.

The stairs were still accessible to reach the training center's training room. It was a relief that it reached that floor now, because they say that some years ago, the training center's main training room wasn't accessible unless you used the elevator. There was no other way in or out of it. But there was a time when the elevator broke down and the floor wasn't accessible so the tributes had to be relocated and practice in another part of the training center. The incident caused much trouble and inconvenience, so they decided to renovate and make the stairs reach to the lowest floor.

No peacekeepers were on duty at the floor because no one would access it anyway. The gate was left open, it was never locked actually. People who are in charge of the training center decided not to keep the training room locked because some tributes would decide to practice at random times. They were prohibited to be out afterhours, but no one told them they were prohibited to practice afterhours. She entered the dimly lit room, only the small wall lamps set on each wall, separated by ten feet each light, was keeping the room lit. It was enough to let you see around, but it was still dark for someone to gain proper access. So Clove makes her way to one corner of the room where an electrical room was placed, the room had the light switches of the training room. Clove flipped some switches and lights went on in a flash by each flip of a switch.

Clove proceeds to a rack filled different weapons, small weapons at least. The bigger ones like the spears and swords are set on separate racks beside this one. She grew up using one weapon only and didn't focus to learn using others. She could give it a shot, so she proceeded to pick up a sword. Which, didn't really do good for her. Once she brought it out of the rack, it almost fell out of her hands because it was too heavy. She was used to holding light and small knives. She tried to life it up and sway it, but she failed and the weight was too much for her, so she returned it to where she got it. She then wanted to try a spear maybe, but that shit is taller than her. It was worth a try, so she grabbed one off the rack. She held it in both hands and tried to put in some moves with it, but its tail would always hit the ground because of its length. Alright, this weapon is a no for her. She could try a bow and arrow, she was good with hand-eye coordination. She took it from its shelf and positioned herself meters away from one target. She took a pose and thought of how Glimmer did it. Even though she wasn't the best shooter, at least she got to hit some targets and she knows how. She tugged on the bow and put her fingers at the end of the arrow. She let go and arrow went flying but didn't hit the target. Focusing on the target wasn't the problem, she just didn't really know how to hold it properly. Another no for a weapon. Clove looked at the other blades she could use, but she didn't bother to touch any of them. She had one forte, she had to settle with that. Besides, it wasn't easy to throw a knife right on. She then walked over to the shelf where the throwing knives were set and fiddled with them, appreciating each and every one of it.

"You know, you can never sneak up on me. With your size, it would be a miracle for someone not to hear you." Clove said, not turning around and still admiring the knives. Cato came out from behind the gauntlet, wearing a white shirt and a pair of trousers. He looked like he was prepared to sleep.

"Seriously, I did my best to make no sound and you still catch me." He threw his arms up in defeat, surprised that Clove caught him despite his ninja moves.

"I have strong senses." Clove shrugged and still refused to turn around. Cato walked toward her with crossed arms and stopped a few feet before her.

"Why are you here? Can't sleep?" he asked and raised his eyebrow in question.

"Nothing and I don't want to." Clove replied, touching one of the throwing knives and twisting it in her hand. With a jolt, she turned around swiftly and sent the knife toward Cato. He quickly dodged to the right side. It was a good thing he did, that knife could've struck his head. She looked at him with a smirk on her face.

"You know it's not allowed to kill a fellow tribute before the games right?" Cato said, standing back up straight.

"At least I know that someone can avoid my throws." Clove said with a small sigh and an evil smile on her face.

"You're a crazy little girl, you know that right? If that hit me, that would be the second time you would be sending a knife into me." He said, pointing to the knife behind him. It had stuck to the side of the gauntlet.

"Only this time, I am aware that you are present. Which makes it that I threw it on purpose." She crossed her arms and shrugged. "And besides, I'm no little girl. I'm a 15 year old girl."

He laughed at her comment. "A 15 year old girl who is 5'4 tall, yeah, you're still a little girl."

"A 15 year old who is 5'4 inches tall and one of the scariest tributes in this year's games. The most feared female tribute. I am also ruthless, sadistic, and a highly-skilled Career Tribute who received a training score of 10. So, yeah, fuck you." Clove replied with confidence and raised her middle finger to Cato.

"Wow, and a girl who swears so much. Okay, you win. Don't kill me." He laughed and proceeded to stay beside her.

"Why are you here anyway?" Clove faced Cato without turning her body and her hands rested on top of the table set in front of her.

"Took a night stroll." He replied.

"I mean, why are you here." Clove repeated, putting an emphasis on the last word.

"Isn't it obvious? I followed you. The training room isn't just for you, you know." He replied and turned away from her, taking the sword from the rack and walked over to the area where the dummies were placed.

Clove leaned back on the table and partially sat, crossing her arms and watched Cato do his thing. He went to slash and decapitate the dummies. She could imagine him doing it the other tributes, the idea made her laugh. She was bloodthirsty, and this surprised her. She wasn't supposed to be like this, she wasn't like this. She was just a girl who was forced into this shit. She doesn't want to kill people. She didn't have to pretend at the moment, she wasn't in front of other people. Then, the thought set in. She would be doing it tomorrow, when morning comes. She would have to kill and take away the lives of innocent kids. Kids sent to their death for the purpose of other people's entertainment. It was sick. She wonders what happens to those other tributes who had survived enough to get out of the arena alive. She heard that there were some tributes who went insane after they won. Just like that girl from District 4 who won the 70th Hunger Games, Annie Cresta, they say she went insane after she saw her fellow tribute and district partner being beheaded. She survived after the arena was flooded and, being from District 4, she had excellent skills in swimming.

"Hey, shortstack. What's bothering you?" Cato said and Clove snapped back into reality. She was surprised because he was now standing in front of her and he held the sword at his side. She was probably stuck in her own abyss when he walked up in front of her.

"Cato... I don't wanna kill anyone." Clove whispered as she looked down at Cato's feet. She wasn't sure if there was any possible devices that could be recording their conversation right now and she didn't wanna expose her vulnerable side. She didn't want any bloodshed. She really didn't want to, she was as close to being alone for most of her life. Aside from her mom and Cato, no one had hurt her but no one had approached her as well. She wasn't mad at anyone, she didn't feel any hatred despite all the pain she had felt through her life.

"We have to." Was what all he replied. He looked at her and stepped forward. She flinched at his movement.

She turned her head, symbolizing a 'no'. She stayed quiet for a few seconds before she talked again. "Let's go back up, they might look for us. I don't wanna get punished." Clove said.

He nodded and placed the sword back to where he got it. They went back to where they came from, the stairs and proceeded to their floor. It was a relief to see the place still dark, so it means no one was awake or looking for them. Clove went on to go back to her room but Cato followed her. She shut the door before he could enter but she didn't lock it, so Cato went inside.

"Get out, Cato. I have to prepare for bed. We're leaving early tomorrow." She said as she went to her closet and picked out the clothes she was going to sleep in. She faced Cato to see that he wouldn't budge from where he stood, he didn't look like he was going anywhere. She rolled her eyes and went into the bathroom to wash up and prepare for bed.

Cato stayed where he stood and looked around the room while he waited for Clove to finish from the bathroom. Standing their with his arms crossed and his right foot tapping on the floor. Nothing was out of the ordinary, it was identical to his room, nothing special to consider other than the Capitol design itself. He tried his best to entertain himself while he waited. After minutes passed and what seemed like forever, Clove emerged from the bathroom in purple polka dotted pajama bottoms and a blue tank top. She was wiping her wet hair with a towel.

"Why the hell are you still here?" she asked him as she sat down on her bed and continued to dry off her hair.

"It's our final night, Clove. Everything begins and ends starting tomorrow." Cato said, still standing in his place.

"So, what? I get it. I'm going to die soon." She shrugged as she finished drying her hair with the towel. She left it as it is to dry off with the air a little. She sat up and leaned on the headboard of her bed. "Yeah, I'm sadistic, arrogant, and taken as murderous. That's who I am for them. But that's not really me. If I have to be that for the duration left of my life, so be it. I lived my life of shit, I guess I can still die as shit." She said as she looked at Cato who was still frozen in place.

"No you won't." Cato said and he dropped his arms to his side.

"Yes, I will. Now, would you get out? I have to get some sleep." Clove replied as she fluffed her hair a little bit to see if it was dry enough. Convinced, she laid down on her bed and tucked herself in. She closed her eyes and just pretended to sleep until Cato would go away.

Cato didn't want to bother her anymore. She would need some rest and he did to. So he decided to get out of the room and leave her to herself, switching off the lights as he shut the door behind him.

Clove opened her eyes after she heard the door close. The end was nearing and she would try her best to get as far as possible. Was winning still an option? She still wasn't sure. She had to get her head straight. She's been jumping to conclusions the past few days, but she had to decide now, was she still going to fight?

Clove was brought into a hovercraft with Enobaria escorting her outside and toward it. Her shark-toothed mentor gave her a few final reminders before she walked over to the giant aircraft and climbed aboard. She was assisted by a peacekeeper and brought into a room where twelve seats hung from both sides of the room. The glow above the hairs were the only ones lighting up the room, it gave a blue radiance and it almost seemed like light was shining from an aquarium. Cato was nowhere to be found, he probably hasn't got on yet. She was one of the first few tributes there alongside both from District 6, the boy from District 9, the boy from District 4, and the girl from District 8. She took her place at the end of the of the right side where a set of hanging seats were placed. She sat there and waited as half of the tributes came in little by little. There were two rooms given for the tributes, half of them would be in this room and the other set would be in the next room. As the tributes began to fill in, the seat beside her remained empty. No one took it until the guest of honor, a.k.a the girl on fire, has arrived. Clove gave her a dirty look but the girl from 12 just brushed it off, not bothering to entertain her. If only it was allowed, Clove would've strangled her the moment she had arrived. She felt like she was burning, burning with anger. But she calmed herself down instantly, she also felt pity. She wasn't heartless, but maybe she was about to get there.

The hovercraft suddenly jolted a bit and it meant that they were in the air and being brought to the arena. The lights on the ground began lighting up and the room glowed more. There was a peacekeeper at both ends of the room to guard. A few minutes later, a woman approached each one of them and pierced a needle into their arm, she says it was their tracker being put in. A few more minutes have passed and they announce our arrival. They were brought out into a hangar and assisted to their own rooms under the arena. Her stylist was inside and he helped her to put her jacket on. The announcer then gives the reminder of having just a few more seconds before the countdown starts, so Clove goes on into the tube. It closes and rises above, the smell of nature and pine fill her nasal pathway. The sun was shining bright up in the sky. Her panel goes to a stop and she is standing alongside other tributes. The girl from District 5 was on her right and the boy from 11 on her left. She looked around and searched for where Cato was. Her eyes fell on a tall blonde boy standing on his own panel a quarter of the circle down her right. She steadied herself and made sure not to fall, because once she touches the ground before the countdown ends, she would be the first one dead and the first one to blow into bits and pieces due to the mine underneath the earth that was set. Once all the tributes have come up their tubes, Claudius Templesmith's voice rings in their ears.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, let the 74th Annual Hunger Games begin!" he announces and the clock starts to countdown. They all position themselves to prepare to bolt and run to that Cornucopia. Clove looks at all of the scattered supplies. Boxes and bags of items and food. Weapons scattered around and some set on a rack inside the cornucopia. She glances around and see everyone eyeing the equipments all over the ground. She takes a glimpse at the boy from 12 who was turning his head to a brunette, his district partner and the well known girl on fire. He was trying to tell her something, wonder what it could be. The countdown was about to end, and Clove puts her focus back to the scene in front of her.

'3, 2, 1, 0' goes the countdown and everyone rushes forward to the Cornucopia. She sees a figure from her far left of someone running into the forest, the boy from 12. She ignored him after and proceeded to grab a belt full of throwing knives in front of her. She ran again to grab a yellow pack that was waiting a few feet away in front of her. But then, the girl from 12 was making her way to it as well. The boy from 9 grabbed it when fire girl was almost there. They kept tugging and fighting over it. Clove picked a knife and sent it flying to the boy's back. The boy coughed out blood from his mouth and it covered the girl's face, this made Clove smirk evilly. When the boy fell to the ground, the girl went running into the trees. And that left Clove frustrated, she could've just gotten her head right there and then. But she had escaped and elongated her life in the arena a little bit more, they could deal with her later.

Clove went on around to search for more stuff that they would need. She rushed over to the side of the Cornucopia's mouth where she eyed another pack that she could have for herself. She rushed over to it and picked it up. She bent over and grabbed it, she searched a little more around more stuff. Deciding to look elsewhere, she stood up with the pack over her shoulder. But then she heard someone running over to her, she turned around to see the giant, due to his tallness, District 8 Male just a few feet from her. She struggled to grab a knife from her belt. She thought she would get stabbed at that time because that guy was holding a dagger in his hand to stab her multiple times. Clove just froze and squeezed her eyes shut. She even dropped the bag that hung from her shoulder. But just then, she hears a thud and the boy falls to the ground. He's been stabbed as well. She opened her eyes to see Marvel, District 1's male tribute, stabbing the corpse repeatedly with a kukri. When he was done, he nodded to her. She replied with a small 'thanks' and he returned to minimize the tributes even more.

She looks around more and eyes a girl on the other side of the cornucopia, bent over and searching inside the pack she was holding. Was she so stupid to be doing that in the middle of a bloodbath where she could be seen. Clove goes over behind the girl and grabs her by the hair. She screams but then is silenced after Clove slits her throat with one of the knives from her belt. The girl falls face first on the ground. The number of the tributes were minimizing, a lot of corpses on the ground but some went missing already. Probably already ran into the forest. Clove decides to go around and gather some supplies along with the other Careers. There were a total of ten corpses laying around already. All the blood shed in a few minutes into the games.

After a few more minutes of looking in front of the Cornucopia, Clove sees a small figure at the edge of her sight, crawling out from under a table inside the Cornucopia. Seeing that Cato was inside, she shouted out his name, "Cato!" and gestured her gaze to the side which was behind Cato. Seeming that he got the answer, he turned around and sent the machete he was holding through the small boy's throat. It was the boy from District 4 who got an '8' for a training score. "Well, at least he lasted a bit longer than the others." Clove whispered to herself and shrugged.

Cato had made his way out of the Cornucopia to look more around the corpses and see if they got anything the Careers could use. A good two minutes have passed and then another figure comes rushing out of the Cornucopia, it was the girl from District 4. Well, they both did hide inside the Cornucopia. Anyway, Cato turned around and made his way toward her. He jumped in front of her which made her halt and fall to the ground. Cato was still holding the machete he used for the girl's district partner. He sent it flying down to her, slashing both her chest and her throat. He looked around him to check if there was any more possible tributes other than the four of them who still lived. There was none, so they continued on to gather the supplies.

Cannons started blowing, one after the other. During the bloodbath, no matter how many dies, no cannons would blow until the bloodbath is over. It would blow over and over again to count how many died just in the bloodbath itself. The four of them decided to pile up the supplies that were left and have it for themselves. They would do it just in a few minutes and then decided to take a break to go into the forest first. That hovercrafts could come anytime to pick up the corpses from the bloodbath.

They stay near the forests opening to watch the hovercraft pick up dead bodies one by one. Clove stared with a blank face, not wanting to show the cameras that she was hurting, as they sat there. But the others were laughing. It was sick, in just a few minutes, she already had killed two people. She had taken away the lives of two innocent kids who just wanted to get out alive like she did. The others were eating away, like Glimmer who was munching on some dried fruit and taking a drink from the canister in her pack. Marvel was wiping off the blood on his spear while Cato was busy sharpening his sword. Clove let out a sigh.

"Here we are, folks. This is it. Welcome to the 74th year of the Hunger Games." Ceasar says with good 'haha' at the end. "We're just awaiting for them all to be prepared.. Okay, looks like everyone's ready. Claudius, would you do the honors?" Ceasar smiles to his co-broadcaster.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, let the 74th Annual Hunger Games begin!" Claudius Templesmith announces and the camera focuses above. The countdown begins.

'59, 58, 57, 56, 55' 54'

Tributes are shown and focused on by the camera one by one.

'53, 52, 51, 50, 49'

The camera changes its angles and cuts into three screens, showing a part of the arena, the cornucopia, and a tribute.

'48, 47, 46, 45, 44'

"So, here's how it goes folks. Each time a tribute goes down, a file comes up on the screen." A holographic image appears on Ceasar's right side.

'43, 42, 41, 40, 39'

"The file includes the image of the tribute, what district they belong to, and some of their bio-data like name, age, height, and gender. It also includes how long they lasted in the games." Claudius says. The image shows a former tribute from a past game to serve as an example.

'38, 37, 36, 35, 34'

" As the countdown goes, let us have a look on the final line of odds for this year's tributes," Claudius and Ceasar both turn their chairs around and the screen shows the table that shows the odds of each tribute to win based on the betting of the Capitol.

'33, 32, 31, 30, 29'

The list of the tributes and their images appear.

District 1
(Male) 5-1 (Female) 7-1

District 2
(Male) 3-1 (Female) 5-1

District 3
(Male) 20-1 (Female) 30-1

District 4
(Male) 15-1 (Female) 9-1

'28, 27, 26, 25, 24'

The list goes on and numbers keep showing.

District 5
(Male) 8-1 (Female) 7-1

District 6
(Male) 24-1 (Female) 23-1

District 7
(Male) 5-1 (Female) 7-1

District 8
(Male) 3-1 (Female) 5-1

'23, 22, 21, 20, 19'

As the countdown keeps going, the list of odds finishes down to the last district.

District 9
(Male) 22-1 (Female) 28-1

District 10
(Male) 15-1 (Female) 10-1

District 11
(Male) 8-1 (Female) 7-1

District 12
(Male) 13-1 (Female) 11-1

'18, 17, 16, 15, 14'

"Wow, some of those numbers have increased very much." Claudius comments on the final morning line odds.

"That is true. Just like that girl from 11, from having a 60-1, her numbers jumped to 7-1! That is one of the biggest number jumps in the history of betting for the games." Ceasar adds.

"Well, we'll see if it is true, Ceasar. The countdown is almost up." Claudius mentions.

'13, 12, 11, 10, 9'

They turn back around to face the cameras and the screen behind them goes back to scene in the arena. It's showing the holographic timer above the Cornucopia, falling into the single digits.

'8, 7, 6, 5, 4'

The scene changes and the angle of image goes slowly flying to a high range above the Cornucopia.

'3, 2, 1, 0'

And the timer is up. Tributes start running towards the Cornucopia. Meanwhile, the scene is being broadcasted all over Panem. The bloodbath begins as the camera focuses on different scenes. The screen is divided into three and once a tribute is about to go down, the middle screen focuses on it.

The screen changes and shows two tributes fighting over a pack. A boy and a girl keeps tugging on it. Suddenly, a knife goes flying to the boys back. He coughs up blood to the girl's face and his grip on the pack loosens. He falls to the ground face first as the girl runs off. A holographic image of a file shows up beside Ceasar.

"A lot of fallen tributes here and now, Ceasar. You think that's all?" Claudius asks.

"I don't know. We'll see, Claudius. There weren't much tributes shown to have ran away into safety. There must be some still left." Ceasar shrugged.

The screen switches back to a single monitor. It shows the Careers looking around and picking supplies around or some attached onto the dead tributes. They gathered some supplies and brought them to one corner. The files of the fallen tributes quickly disappear to make way for the scene of the games. Some minutes later, the screen suddenly shows a small figure sneaking and crawls out from under a table in the Cornucopia. This gives surprise to both Claudius and Ceasar.

"Oh, look." Claudius points probably to a monitor under the camera that is filming them. "There's another one." Ceasar gives an amused and surprised look. Then, a female voice suddenly shouts "Cato!" and he sends a machete to the little boy's throat, slashing it and making him choke on his own blood and fall to the ground before dying a few seconds later.

The Careers continue to gather supplies before another figure comes rushing out of the Cornucopia. A female tribute went running while carrying a bag with her, Cato rushes over to stop her and succeeds after jumping in front of her which made her stop and fall to the ground. Cato grins and immediately slashes the female's chest and throat.

All the files disappear and the screen behind Ceasar and Claudius goes to pitch black. It lights up again to show and very light and faded blue color. The cannons start to go off with each of the fallen tributes' files appearing along with it. It goes from that who ranked 24th, which was the male of District 9, until the final fallen tribute in the bloodbath, who was the female of District 4.

"And that there, folks, concludes the bloodbath." Ceasar says and all the files arrange based on the order the tributes died.

A/N: So, there you go. I put the lining of death of the bloodbath in order of the film. Except for the boy from District 9 (I followed the book), so that puts him in the last place, the 24th. I also shifted out of the games to Ceasar and Claudius when they were broadcasting each of the deaths during the bloodbath, just so I could share a few details about it. There will be some changes in deaths as well in the next chapters. (You'll see what I'm talking about, it might not be what you thought, though.) I also put the board of the morning line odds into this chapter. I don't know how exactly long the betting goes so I just tried to put it in like it was final. I also based the numbers from the film, except Peeta's and Katniss' since based on the reaction garnered from the audience, it would seem unlikely for them both to receive 23-1 odds. It was fun making up names for the tributes. School starts in a few days, so updating will take time. Bear with me guys, I promise I will try my best to get one up soon. Send me a review please, thanks.
