The next day started fairly normal. Until around 10 am, Beast Boy and Cyborg's video game time. Raven sat on the couch reading a book while Beast Boy sat on the couch whining.

"Rae come on!"
"No."
"You're a dude now, you have to at least try to play a video game!"
Raven narrowed his eyes, "Not every male in the world likes to play video games, just like not every female in the world likes to go shopping and do their hair. Besides I have plans."
Beast Boy frowned, "How am I suppose to teach you how to be a guy if you won't even try and hang with me?"
"You'll have to start acting like a mature person before I'm willing to listen to you about anything." Raven got up from his spot on the couch and began walking towards the doors.
"What are your oh so special plans anyway?"
"I'm going to the mall with Starfire."
Beast Boy only sighed heavily, turning back to the large screen. Raven took his leave, determined to begin his meditation before noon, the time they were going to the mall. He made his way to the roof, thankful that it wasn't too warm, and began his session.
15 minutes passed when the door to the roof opened. "There you are," Robin waited for Raven to turn and look at him. "Starfire's looking for you. Said she wanted to meditate with you, if that was cool with you."
"Send her up, I don't mind."
"Thanks Raven." The door shut quietly and was opened a minute later by Starfire.
"I hope I didn't interrupt you, but we did not have the chance to meditate last night."
Raven nodded, "Let's begin."
For what may have well been more than an hour, the girls sat on the rooftop, lost to the outside world. Slowly they drifted back into reality.
They got up, and made their way downstairs and walked into the main room. Beast Boy was flipping through the channels, Cyborg was making some food, and Robin was listening to his music. Starfire and Raven looked at the clock, it was noon.
"Friend, may we journey to the mall now?"
Raven nodded, suddenly feeling something odd. He turned his head slightly, knowing the feeling was coming from one of their friends. But they seemed to be doing their own thing and the feeling was too small and vanished too quickly For him to pinpoint where it came from. Shrugging, he followed Starfire out of the tower.

"Friend Raven, does this shop offer mustard as a beverage?"
"I'm afraid not Star. But you could ask for it and i'm sure they'll make an exception."
They had been in the mall for 30 minutes, just roaming around before Starfire and Raven heeded the growls coming from their stomachs. They stood in front of a new restaurant of sorts. It was smaller than a normal restaurant, maybe the size of a fast food place, but it was specifically made for people to sit down and eat. They entered, seated by a nice young man.
"Miss, would you happen to be Starfire from the Teen Titans?"
"Yes friend, why do you ask?"
"The Titans get a 50% discount on anything in this restaurant. And we're aware of your love of mustard so that is offered here as well."
Starfire's eyes lit up in pure joy! "Thank you friend! That is nice of your food shop to do such things for me!" She turned to Raven, "Friend Raven we must eat here often!"
"If you want to Star."
The waiter gave Raven a confused look, "You're Raven? But I thought Raven was a girl?"
"I am. Do us all a favor, don't play with magic."
The waiter laughed lightly,"So what can I get you two for a drink?"
"Mustard please!"
"I'll just have some tea."
"Thank you. I'll be back soon with your drinks."

The man soon returned with their drinks, like he promised, and wrote down their orders, a BLT and soup. Raven started to drink his tea when Starfire innocently spoke up.
"Friend Raven, I have noticed multiple female staring at you." Raven raised his eyebrow. "I was curious, since are now male, do the swooning of females bother you?"
Raven almost choked on his tea. As calmly as he could he lowered his glass and looked at his friend, "I haven't noticed them to be honest."
"On Tameran, when a warrior changed their gender, it was to learn about the other gender's point of view. But they rarely changed back and took mates. Do the people of Earth do this?"
Raven shrugged, sipping his tea, now painfully aware of several stares coming from all around them.
"Starfire?" The happy alien looked up from her mustard. "Is gender change on your planet common?"
She nodded, "Many of the teachers I learned under had changed their gender. It is quite normal in our society."
"How were the changes done?"
Starfire thought for a couple of seconds, "I believe those who chose to have the gender change eat a certain berry that changes your body in slight ways, a female's globonacks would decrease in size and their voice might change in tone. A male's voice would change as well and his form may become more curved. After a few days, our doctors would take them away and they would be gone for 42 days exactly. I do not know what happens during that time as no one speaks about the things that happen. But when they come back they are changed into the opposite gender and there are no restrictions."
Raven nodded his head, "They just leave? Why don't they tell anyone what's happened?"
Starfire shook her head, "It is a special event that only those of a certain age are aloud to partake in it. And they are not aloud to speak of the events."
"But why?"
"I do not know. I was never told. I was going to be told on my 21st birthday, but that is a long way from now."
"Doesn't your royalty make it mandatory for you to know these things?"
The man returned, placing their food down and leaving.
"My royalty allows me to learn of this event earlier than others." She bit into her sandwich, clearly enjoying it.
"How old do the others have to be?"
"42 years of age."
Raven sipped his soup, thinking about the things he'd learned. They finished their food quickly, and got up to leave after they'd payed the bill. They stood outside of the restaurant, unsure of where to go next. Suddenly a girl ran up to them, looking around the same age as the Titans.
Raven didn't like the way she was looking at him.
"Can I help you?" Raven flinched when when she squealed in excitement.
"You sound as dreamy as you look!"
Raven's normally pale face took on a rosy color at the girl's statement. "Excuse me?"
"Well my friend Barbara over there," she pointed across to a blonde girl sitting in a chair trying her best to look as uninterested as possible. "Saw you in that restaurant and she wanted to know if you'd maybe like to meet up sometime!"
"I...uh...wha?"
"And if you don't want to get with her, I'm currently single and ready to mingle!"
Raven took a step back, not at all prepared for this situation. He looked to Starfire for help, not knowing what to do. The alien girl thought for a couple of seconds before smiling when she thought of an idea. She quickly hooked her arm around Raven's waist and smiled at the girl.
"I apologize, but he is taken!" She smiled at the girl who seemed taken aback by this.
"Really? Cause you don't-"
"We have been doing the going out for three months and are currently going the steady now!"
The girl shrugged, "Well, whatever. But if you get tired of miss red head over here, give me a call!" The girl gave Raven a small piece of paper, winked, then left the Titans to go back to her friend.
Raven and Starfire walked away from the two girls before finally Starfire let go of her friend who sighed in relief.
"Thanks Star. I didn't know what to do."
"Not a problem friend Raven! I would not have left you to fend her off on your own!"
