Emma walked up to Sean and Jay at their lockers. "Hey." She greeted. Sean glanced over his shoulder from digging in his locker and turned as he noticed she was here.

Jay muttered something like 'yea' but his eyes were glued on Manny down the hall. Emma and Sean even noticed and shared a smirk.

"He's nervous." Teased Sean.

Emma gave a playful sigh, pointing at Jay's forehead. "You're even sweating." He glared. She rolled her eyes and said, "Relax. You can't go up to her today anyways."

"Why the hell not?" Jay shut up quick at Sean's warnful stare.

Emma answered, "You just dumped Alex. You can't just jump to the next girl. She won't like that. She learned from Craig Mannings."

"She's messing around with Michealchucks leftovers." Scoffed Jay jealousy.

"Not anymore." Emma announced. She was also a little happy to hear it. She explained, "Manny said Spinner has been trying to get her to go to the dance with him and make things 'official'. It's even freaking her out, so she's flirting a lot with the new kid, Chester, to distract herself from it. She wants a relationship, but I don't think Spinner should be her first boyfriend when finally jumping back in the game."

"Do you really want it to be Jay Hogart though either?" smirked Sean and groaned when Jay hit his arm hard.

Emma narrowed her eyes at Jay, sizing him up. She could really tell he liked Manny. "I'll help you Jay. But you have to do one thing for me."

"What's that?" he asked, a little hastily.

Emma crossed her arms. "Leave Rick Murray alone." Both Sean and Jay were silent. She raised an eyebrow and then shrugged, "Fine. I guess Chester will probably win Manny over.." she went to leave.

"Fine!" Jay snapped, pulling her back and looked around, embarrassed. He took his hands off her but spat, "We have a deal."

Both Sean and Emma now looked at Jay unbelievably. Emma insisted that, that alone, Jay Hogart saying he'd leave Rick Murray be, was a HUGE deal. If only Manny knew what he was giving up to try and win her over. This must be more serious then Emma though. Emma kinda liked it. It was time Jay Hogart finally grew up and acted like a man..

Emma smiled, sharing a look with Sean and then stayed gazing at him admirably. She knew a lot of Jay's new changes was due to Manny but a lot of it had to be the good influence Sean was on him. Sean had a bad reputation that he couldn't change- even if he wasn't the scary guy people thought. Emma now hoped Jay could shake off his old reputation.

((((***)))

"Here's the URL for the cupid site online that will match you for your date tonight at the dance!" Manny told everyone in class, pointing at the address written on the front of the board.

The students in class looked at their computers then glanced down at their keyboards and typed it in. Emma glanced down at her keyboard and before she went to type, Sean grabbed her hand. "You're not even thinking about seriously doing that, are you?"

Emma paused and then sheepishly thought about it. "Well, I was." She admitted. But only because somebody was standing up in front of the classroom telling her what to do. She still had a teachers pet reflex in her. "But. I won't." she promised.

Sean raised an eyebrow at her and rolled his eyes as other students submitted their profiles for Manny and Chester to hook them up on dates for the school dance.

"One, school dances are lame." Sean lifted his other finger, "Two, if they think they can match my girlfriend up with someone else. .they have another thing coming."

Emma rolled her eyes smiling, "Sean, Manny and Marco run the site. I'm sure Manny would switch it if somebody else came up."

Sean looked taken back. "You think we wouldn't match?"

"Probably not." Emma giggled. They were so opposite! But that was a great thing. Sean took it offensively though, she could tell.

After Sean scrunched his eyebrows in confusion at Emma, he turned around and began to type into his computer.

"What are you doing?" Emma now asked, curious but a little ticked off. Was he going to add himself!?

"I'm going to see who this cupid site sets me up with." He nodded at her keyboard, "Go. Enter yourself. I want to see."

"You're being ridiculous." She sighed as he shot her a stern look. Sean never got stubborn over silly things like this, so Emma entertained him by shrugging and doing so. "Fine."

After a few moments, both of them entered, and Manny thanked everyone from the front. "This school dance will be amazing!" she caught Chester's eye and smile from the back of the room. She felt an uneasy turn in her stomach but tried to smile back.

"Thank you, Manny." Mr Armstrong said, stepping up and taking over. "Now, lets get to our books and open chapter 5…"

((((((((**********))))))))))

"Sean actually submitted?" Manny had to giggle with Emma while walking down the hall. Manny turned her head and asked, "You want me to rig it?"

"No." Emma said just as stubbornly as Sean was earlier. "Let him play whatever game he's playing. He thinks I was being mean or something when I said we probably wouldn't match."

"You wouldn't." Manny said knowingly, "The site pairs people up by similarities."

"That's what I was trying to say. I don't even want a guy whose like me. Hell, I'd probably get Toby." The two laughed.

Manny insisted, "You are a hot girl version of Toby then, Em."

Emma the sighed and wondered, "I don't know what he's going to do when he gets the results in." she scrunched her eyebrows together, "Or what I'll do.."

Manny promised, "you don't have to go with whoever we pair you up with, it's just a fun thing we'd like people to do. To meet new people. But, you already have a boyfriend. Would Sean even go to a school dance, anyways?"

"Not very likely." Emma then blushed with a smile, "Unless I asked him to."

Someone then bumped into Emma and she yelped a little to then look up and her mouth hung. Rick was standing in front of her, with a black eye. He looked down quickly and went to leave but Emma grabbed his arm and pulled him back.

"Did…Did Jay do this, Rick?" She crossed her arms angerily, waiting for the answer. If Jay broke their deal he could kiss Manny goodbye! Oh- wait. He'd probably like that..

Rick looked down and shook his head. "no." Emma relaxed. "Spinner."

Now Manny tensed and shared a look with Emma. Rick moved forward and Manny scoffed, "I don't even like Rick very much, but even I think that's just wrong."

"You can't bully a bully and think you've set things right." Emma bittered.

Manny sighed, "It's not our business, Em."

Emma shook her head. That wasn't right though either. Someone should DO something about this.

(((**))

"What do you want me to do, Emma?" Sean asked, sitting at a table in the cafeteria room. He had a spare and Emma did too, so only a few other students shared the enormous cafeteria with them.

Emma huffed, "Anything! You're friends with him. Tell Spinner to leave Rick alone and once the school sees Jay and Spinner have stopped, they'll all stop."

Sean glanced at Emma and down at his sandwich with a look on his face Emma couldn't read. "You don't . ."

Emma waited for Sean to finish what he was trying to say but he was struggling. Emma asked, "I don't what?"

Sean felt terrible for asking. He felt terrible for thinking this but he was so jealous now when it came to Emma. He wished he wasn't. He knew it was unhealthy and he had to work on it. "You don't like Rick …do you?"

There was complete silence and then Sean's prayers were answered when Emma bursted into hysteric giggles. He rolled his eyes when she couldn't even stop and ended up grinning himself, rolling his eyes. Now he felt stupid. Ofcourse she didn't. .

"Forget I asked."

Emma covered her hand over her mouth, giggling like a mad woman and couldn't stop. She was even trying her damn hardest! She cleared her throat and tried to take a deep breath, giggling softly again but it was dying away at least.

She finally went serious, reaching for his hand and tangled her fingers into his. Sean smirked sadly and glanced at her sheepishly. She took a deep breath after her cheeks hurt from laughing, "I only have eyes for you, Sean Cameron."

His smirk turned into a crooked grin, trying not to show her how much he liked hearing that. She giggled again until Marco came over carrying folders and noticed them.

"Ah, Emma Nelson.." he scanned through the folders alphabetically and found hers, laying down her file and then Sean's. "And..Sean.." he glanced at Sean oddly, finding it strange Sean was even in this. Also, weren't the two dating another?

Emma knew it was the cupid results. She eyed Sean closely when Marco left and couldn't help but stare at that piece of paper in his hands. Who was in it? Who did Sean get paired with? She bit her lip and tried not to show him now how jealous she suddenly was too.

Sean put his paper down, rolling his eyes and sighing. "Yea. No big deal. This was stupid. I won't be at that stupid dance anyways."

Emma glanced at hers after opening it and had to laugh, reminding herself of earlier. "Toby. I knew it." Sean had to laugh too and got up with her.

"Lets go."

"No," Emma stopped him from pulling her away. "I wanna see." She leaned over and grabbed his paper. He went to grab it back but she held it away and stared not so happily at his results.

Sean clenched his jaw and blamed himself for doing this stupid thing.

"Ellie." Emma said with an unreadable look on her face. Sean didn't even like how he couldn't figure out if she was mad, or not. She just put the paper down and gave him a smile he wasn't use to, and wasn't sure his stomach settled right with. "Ok, lets go. I'm going to be late for science."

Sean stood there for a moment as she brushed past him. He huffed and cursed at himself again before following her.

He chased her down the hallway and explained, "You said it yourself. They pair people up by similarities."

"Yeah." Emma agreed simply.

He hated this tone though. It wasn't right. It wasn't how Emma usually spoke to him. This tone was cold. "Me and Ellie probably just like the same bands or something. She's probably got an angry boy inside her too." He joked. Emma didn't laugh.

She stopped at her locker and he cringed, wishing she'd say something.

"Do you want to go to this thing?" he asked. Manny had said Emma did. He'd go if Emma really wanted to.

"No." Emma lied, and walked off with that when the bell rang. Sean stood there, mouth hung, unsure if she was really pissed at him or the results.

"Damn it." He growled. He knew this whole thing was stupid!

Spinner suddenly came out of the library and Sean raised his eyebrows. Perfect timing. "Hey, Gavin!" he snapped.

Spinner looked over and was taken back. He went on over but grinned wearily. "Uh, hey man? What's up?" why did Sean look like he wanted to kick his ass? Should he start running?

Sean said simply as other students walked around them. "If you touch one hair on Rick Murray's head again. I'll do every single damage you do to him, to you. If I see a black eye on him again, you get a black eye. You get it?"

Spinner's eyes were wide and he hated to look like a coward but he nodded. He was stupid, but not THAT stupid. Sean Cameron could knock anybody out.

"I know what happened to Terri sucked." Sean added softly, "It wasn't right. But you can't win this by doing that to Rick. I could care less about Rick either, but there won't be any good out of doing that to him. Just quit it, alright?"

Spinner wasn't happy as he muttered, "Fine." With that, he brushed past Sean. Sean rolled his eyes to how two people were now mad at him today, all in 10 minutes- must be a record.
