Ok, so we lost Grace, what will happen next? Truth be told, I kinda lost my plot bunny... any suggestions? They'd be welcome in the reviews...
I don't own PJO or HoO
Grace
I get frustrated when people don't take me seriously. After five minutes of walking towards my destination, the frustration fades and I turn to go back to the group. I walk for about a block, when I notice the man.
I don't know if he had been following me, but now I saw him. He was tall, and broad shouldered, with dark skin and silver eyes. His black hair was a little too long and was in messy curls. He wore black jeans, and a black t-shirt. Not bad looking, but he had an almost haunted look in his eyes that warded off people who stopped to stare at him. He was standing at the end of the sidewalk, and I swore he was looking right at me. He was.
He starts towards me, long strides eating up the space between us. Somehow, I feel like I should be scared. Instead, I feel like he was a close friend I had known for a while. I walk towards him, curious. Maybe he was from the past I couldn't remember.
"Grace," he said, when we finally met. He turned so that he was walking beside me, and positively towered over me. So what? I'm short. "I had to come to see if you were okay, even if I'm technically not allowed to." He pauses. "How's Nico?"
In an instant, I realize, this is Hades. This doesn't scare me as much as confuse me. Instead, I say something else. "You should know. You're his father."
"You probably know better than I do." Hades says, I think, sadly. "Listen, Grace, do you remember me? Meeting me before?"
"No." I say flatly.
"Thank goodness," the god sighs, and we stop at a cafe by the sidewalk. "This is a good place- you want coffee?"
We enter, and sit down in a corner. Both of us are silent for a long time, until I'm nearly done with my iced coffee.
"Hephaestus came down, didn't he," Hades says, metallic eyes boring into mine. I glance away, not used to making eye contact. With anyone. I nod, but don't say anything. "Grace- I know you're forgetting a lot of your past, but I need to tell you something. Remember how you're the champion of the gods?"
I'm interested now, and lean forward. "Yep."
"It's because you're related to almost all of the Olympians," he says, grave face nervous for once. "We were trying to make a sort of super demigod. We've tried it with one other demigod- and we think we've got the right mix with him. But you're even more powerful than she is. That's why you're making the gods nervous, including me. You should have died... but you didn't."
"And who tried to kill me?" I ask coolly. Hades doesn't answer.
"Gaea is trying to open the Doors of Death," he says instead, and I gasp. "She'll try to target you, make you her champion, to counter the other demigod, who will try to stop her. you have to resist her, and help the other demigod."
"Who is he?"
Sorry, short chap.!
