Author's Note: Hey~! Here's the next chapter finally! Sorry for the late post! This is just sort of like a transition/filler chapter into the Bees plan (I know after like a year and a half, I'm finally getting to this)! It's not much, but I hope you like it! Also, shout-out to Dani because we ended up sharing headcanons about the first scene of this chapter! Also, I forgot to mention that last chapter (since I've been wanting to do that scene for a while) actually has art for it where Ruby leaves Weiss with her cloak and she's all sad once Ruby leaves by my friend Sol! I'll show it to anyone who sends me a PM! Anyways, enjoy the chapter!

Vacation Time Part 5: Dreams
~Day After: Morning Time In the Suite~
Weiss was struggling.
"You got this Weiss!"
Weiss grunted.
"Just think carefully…"
Weiss gritted her teeth.
"Don't get distracted by that cute smile of hers."
"Yang." The CEO spoke curtly, clearly agitated by the blonde's side comments at this point. "The only one distracting me is you! Don't you have something more important to attend to? Like, oh, I don't know—our lunch that's currently cooking in our kitchen rather than pestering me?"
Yang rolled her eyes and raised her hands up as a sign of surrender.
"Fine. But don't go crying to me when Rubes beats you again~!"
Weiss scowled at the tall blonde as she practically strolled her way back in their hotel room's kitchen. It was Yang's fault Ruby was so dastardly skilled in chess in the first place. Apparently while the sisters grew up with Yang basically raising both of them, they had plenty of time to play games such as chess all day for several days of their childhood. Not only that, Ruby was of course a fast learner, and joined their school's chess club and won trophies until she got bored. Weiss wasn't at all upset about this fact really, she was proud of Ruby and loved to challenge herself, but she did wish she could win more times than just a sad hand-full.
Currently, they were playing a rather intense game of chess this time around. While Weiss was taking the game as seriously as if it meant life or death, Ruby on the other hand was having the best time playing with her wife; she could even feel Little Rose fluttering with joy with her as they played. She, of course, was playing seriously with Weiss. She knew how much her wife loved challenging herself, so Ruby would naturally do her best.
Weiss looked back onto the board and tried to focus again. Sure, she was definitely pushing herself to counteract Ruby and hopefully beat her, but this was fun. This was one of their favorite pass times to do as couple, and she loved it when Ruby gets excited about their little matches. It was also good for them to do an activity inside their suite for once since all they've done on their vacation so far was being active outside.
After several days of their vacation constantly doing activities at the island resort, Ruby requested the team to have a little break in their hotel suite to relax for the whole day. With all the walking around and swimming they've done the usual energetic leader was starting to wear out a bit. This, of course, lead to Weiss basically putting them on hotel suite arrest for her wife's sake. While they stayed in, Reira was out somewhere shopping and taking a little break of her own so, Roy was left to keep watch over the team for the day.
A wrinkle formed between Weiss's eyebrows. This always happens after she manages to take my queen. Every damn time. How is she so good at this?! She thought in frustration as she carefully tried to deduce the best move she could possibly make to finally beat Ruby.
She knew ever since Beacon that Ruby was the better player in the game of chess, probably due to her natural ability to strategize, but Weiss didn't always lose. She'd win at times when she could catch Ruby off-guard, which, unfortunately for her, only has happened few and far between their many matches together throughout the years.
After some deliberation, she decided to push her last standing knight forward on the chess board, taking out one of Ruby's rooks, hoping it wasn't another elusive trap her wife set up for her. It was her last gamble with the few pieces she had left to play. Her pawns were spread on the board and nowhere near the opposite end to claim another queen, her rook had no attacking angle with any of Ruby's pieces, which just left her knight to take her wife's rook or take nothing. It was better than losing another piece at least.
"Check." Weiss almost mumbled, slightly narrowing her eyes at Ruby seeing if the loss of her rook would throw her off at all, but instead Ruby frowned… and in the way she dreaded and not looked forward to.
"Aww, Weiss…" She whined.
Drat!
She was done for and Weiss already knew it. She must've made some careless mistake at some point, and it frustrated her. Ruby was only whining to save her sensitive pride; her wife never did like to gloat about her wins.
With a defeated sigh and light shake of the head, Weiss gave Ruby a wry smile. At least her wife respected her enough to never hold back when they played.
"I get it, I lost. But what did I do this time?"
Ruby placed a single digit on her chin as she pondered.
"You did well, Weiss! You're improving, but sometimes you forget to look at the whole board before you plan your next move." She pointed to one of the corners of the board where a bishop stood. "See my piece over there, I can use that to take you last knight, which only leaves you with your rook and three pawns. Then moving your rook or your remaining pawns, I can use my knight and queen to capture them then checkmate no matter where you move your king. Gotta watch out for those long-ranged sneak attacks honey~!" She winked.
Weiss nodded and absorbed the short lesson like a sponge.
"Hmm, you're right. By the way you took my queen earlier, it was a similar accept you used your knight in the middle of the board. I just need to be more aware of the board as a whole. I'll do better next time! I swear I'll beat you again on this, Ruby!"
That made the mother-to-be giggle. She had no doubt in her mind Weiss would always want to play against her till their winning numbers were equal. She loved that no matter how many times her wife would fail, she never stops trying until she improves and succeeds.
Weiss took her loss like a champ and kissed her wife on the cheek. "Congrats on beating me, that means you can to choose how we spend our time today."
Ruby formed a small pout with her lips. "Aww, but that's no fair. You chose a game that I'm pretty good at, Weiss. I know you like to challenge yourself, but we're on vacation here! We should have played something relaxing… like poker! You're great at poker!"
On their living room couch, Blake let out a light snort while reading her book.
"Weiss would only play poker with you if it was strip poker. She likes to see you squirm while you take your clothes off, you know~!" The Faunus teased, hiding her smirk behind her book.
Weiss flushed and Ruby sputtered, both caught off-guard.
"Blake Belladonna—" Weiss started to say.
"Xiao Long-Belladonna!" Yang shouted from the kitchen. It was really just Belladonna, but Yang couldn't help herself with that one.
"No, it's no- Whatever! But how… how dare you! I…do not! I would never—Ruby don't listen to her! She's reading the new addition of her smut series and all that filth has gone to her head!"
Ruby just started laughing though. Blake surprised her, but Weiss was just too cute when she got embarrassed, much less stammering on her words. Blake wasn't really wrong; her wife and her did play strip poker, but both of them enjoyed it, not just Weiss. After some time, even Yang joined in by releasing some guffaws of her own in the kitchen.
Weiss, now as red as a tomato, glared at all of them and grumbled, "I hate all of you…"
Instantly, Ruby stopped and came around the chess board and wrapped her arms around her wife.
"I'm sorry." She said, still releasing short huffs of laughter while lovingly nuzzling against her wife's cheek. "I just can't help it when you're soooo cuuuute." She gave her a quick apologetic peck on the cheek.
Weiss huffed and looked away.
Ruby never faltered though as she continued to pepper short kisses on her wife's cheeks. "Weiss~!"
This made a smile slowly form on the CEO's lips. "Oh, fine, I suppose I can forgive you. But Blake, I'm still mad at you."
"You'll come around eventually, princess." She replied as she turned another page of the short novel in her hand.
"Blake! Only I get to call her that!"
"Sorry, Ruby."
"Hey! How come you apologize to her when she gets upset, but not me!" Weiss snapped.
Blake smiled. "Because Ruby's pregnant and I actually don't enjoy teasing her~!"
I mean, really. Who would actually tease Ruby Schnee-Rose and succumb their fate to face the wrath of her infamous pouts? Not me!
"You're dead to me, Blake."
That made Blake flinch. "Ouch, okay I'm sorry Weiss."
It was genuine and Weiss knew it. "Then you're forgiven." She quipped as if she'd won something.
Blake stuck her tongue out at the CEO, which only made Weiss smirk in return. Ruby shook her head.
And Weiss calls me childish. Sheesh.
"Alright, alright! Enough with the sassing back and forth, it's time for Yang's special gourmet meal!" The blonde cut-in as she set some plates down with one Ruby's favorite homemade foods: beef and vegetable stir fry with mushrooms and noodles.
Ruby's mouth was practically watering at the sight and instantly sat down at their suite's dining table. Her wife and Blake followed behind and helped Yang set the table. Roy immediately entered the suite from the balcony once he smelled the food. Nothing's beats Yang's cooking. Nothing.
Ruby took a big whiff of the plate Yang just placed in front of her and sighed, "Ahh~! Yang this smells so wonderful! Thank you so much sis! This really reminds me of home."
This just made Yang chuckle then she gave her sister's forehead a brief kiss and ruffled her hair. "Anything for my baby sister! Oh, aaand~! I also got you some strawberry ice cream and pickles for dessert!"
Ruby squealed with joy and got up to hug her big sister, nuzzling her face in Yang's soft hair.
"Seriously the best sister ever!"
This made everyone smile.
"Nah, Rubes, you're definitely the best." Yang said with a smile and squeezed her sister one more time before they started eating.
With every bite of her food, Ruby was made various sounds of sighs, hums, and squeals of glee. No meal made her happier than Yang's, something she'd never admit to Weiss she missed every now and then in their home back in Atlas.
"Weiss, Yang?" It was Blake who spoke after a few bites of their meal.
The two women in question perked up and looked at her.
"Yes?"
"What's up, Blake?"
The Faunus licked her lips, savoring the taste of her wife's cooking before she spoke. "I was just wondering how you two figured out… about me being ready for kids?" She figured already that Yang found out before she told her, she was just curious of what gave her away.
Weiss and Roy stiffened.
Yang almost choked on the beef in her mouth as she looked back at Weiss briefly before drifting back to Blake.
This made Ruby quirk an eyebrow at them out of curiosity while munching on her food. All the while the young bodyguard just chewed quietly, maybe a little nervous since he was the one that did kinda reveal Blake's secret to Yang.
For Weiss, this was Yang's question to answer since she was the one who told her about it, so she jerked her head towards Blake giving the blonde a look that said: 'Well? Tell her!'
Damn, I guess the cat's out the bag. Yang thought.
She swallowed her food almost thickly. "Oh… well, during our second day here I noticed throughout the day you'd get upset and sad for little a while then you'd perk up the moment I spoke to you. I kinda figured something might have been bothering you, but I didn't want to ask until you were ready to tell me." She brushed some strands of her hair off her face and continued. "Once we got back, you barely spoke, I know Weiss and Ruby noticed too."
The duo nodded their heads for confirmation and Blake sighed.
"Yeah, I was pretty moody that day…"
How couldn't she? She had tried so hard and every attempt she made had failed. It was all water under the bridge now, but remembering it all, she was pretty disappointed in herself.
"But that's okay, Blake! You were just trying to tell me in a special way, I totally get that! I would have done the same especially since we're on a vacation! It's fine, I really appreciate your efforts." Yang reached across the table and held her wife's hand. "Thank you, Blake."
Blake smiled at the sweet gesture. "It's no problem, Yang. But still, how did you know that the topic about the kids was what was bothering me because I was finally ready?"
Roy suddenly stood. "It was my fault Miss Blake! I'm sorry!" He bowed his head towards her, which surprised the Faunus.
"What? But how?" She asked.
Roy and Yang then explained how the bodyguard accidentally found Blake's message meant for the blonde for their little beach date and how it finally clicked for Yang why her wife was so downtrodden during that day.
Ruby squealed right after they explained. "Oh my gosh, Roy! You met someone? Oh, did you make up with her yet? Can we meet her?"
A blush instantly painted Roy's face "I… uh, well we did make up and I got her number too! But I don't know about meeting her. I told her I was on duty today, so I'm not sure when I'll be seeing her next…she did message me back so maybe we're okay." He wasn't too sure, but he was hopeful enough. He couldn't wait to see those beautiful eyes of hers again.
Weiss coughed, interrupting them. "As much as I am happy for you Roy as Ruby is, but let's discuss that some other time."
The two sent the others an apologetic look, but Ruby leaned in towards Roy and whispered, "We'll talk about it later! I really wanna meet this girl!"
Weiss rolled her eyes. Her wife was never subtle. She wondered if Ruby would be that excited if their kids met someone they like one day. Immediately the thought sent an uncomfortable feeling in her chest.
Too soon… way too soon.
"Uh… yeah anyways, Blake. That's how I found out… and then I told Weiss too, but it was to mostly cheer you up and help you to tell me! I didn't mean to ruin your surprise, honest!"
"It's okay Yang, I believe you. I'm just sorry I couldn't tell you sooner. I was just scared… but you know what?" Blake gave Yang one of those gorgeous smiles that would send her heart soaring then Blake looked briefly at Ruby then back at her. "I was scared before and I wanted to run away again because I was so worried, but not anymore. If it wasn't for your sister and Little Rose I wouldn't have realized how much I really want this with you, Yang. What Ruby's going through—having a family, feeling her baby move, getting cravings, being emotional about every little thing—I want it. I've wanted it all ever since I felt her baby make their first movements. After that incredible moment, I don't know how to describe it, but it just clicked that you and I could do this Yang; we can be happy together and be good parents."
Blake paused and took a deep breath before she continued, her ears drooped slightly. "I know… I know I can't protect our children from what I've been through or any Faunus child from how the world is, but now I know that as long as we're together and work together, we'll figure it out and get through it." She gave Ruby a warm smile. "You can thank Ruby for reminding me that we're all in this together, as a family. She really is the best sister ever." She said with a warm smile towards their leader.
Ruby felt her cheeks heat up and her belly flutter with Little Rose. "Aww Blake! I told you I was just telling you the truth… it wasn't a big deal or anything." She looked away, feeling too overwhelmed with emotions like she usually was in her condition. But then she suddenly felt strong arms wrapped around her. Looking up, she realized it was her sister giving her a tight embrace (not too tight though).
"Thank you… thank you so much, Ruby." Yang said with a sniff.
"Aww no, Yang! Don't cry! If you cry… I'm gonna cry…" It was coming, Ruby could already feel the hot tears threatening to fall from her eyes as her sister held her longer.
As her tears began to well-up, Weiss instantly appeared beside the teary sisters and offered them both handkerchiefs that she somehow always had with her during times like this.
"Honestly, you guys…" She sighed. "Can't we have at least one day without making my wife emotional." Weiss muttered while rubbing Ruby's back and whispering soft words to help her stop crying.
Yang finally pulled back and ruffled her sister's her hair. "Heh~ geez, I'm sorry. It's just, I'm really grateful for you Rubes. Thank you for helping me and Blake out."
This just made Ruby giggle. "It was really no problem, you guys. I'm just looking out for my family."
Everyone smiled at that.
"Sooo Blake~!" Yang cooed, breaking the short silence and scooching up right next to her wife.
"Hmm…? Yes, Yang?" Blake said knowing her wife wanted something.
"Does this mean you want to be the one carrying our baby?" She asked in such an excited manner, her eyes were practically sparkling with delight.
That made Blake's cheeks heat up with a red hue and she looked away briefly before turning back to those beautiful sparkling lilac irises.
"I'd really love to… if that's okay with you of course."
Yang cheered instantly at that and scooped Blake up in her arms. "Then it's settled! You're gonna carry our baby!" She gushed. She spun her wife around and peppered her face with several kisses.
"Oh my gosh! Blake, this is great! We'll get to experience this together!" Ruby cheered along with her sister.
Weiss smiled, standing in a corner and nimbly grabbed her scroll and took a picture of the scene. She had to cherish every sweet moment of this ridiculous and loving family she had as much she could. She and Ruby tried to do this as often as they could, take as many pictures as they could to build a literal library of memories one day. Shelves filled of their moments, their memories, something they can always look back to. A home they can always remember.
Blake kissed the top of Ruby's head, giving her a smile that reflected the same excitement Ruby did at that moment.
"Yes, yes we will Ruby and I can't wait!"
She gave Ruby a hug and immediately started chatting about carrying children. Weiss strolled next to Yang and squeezed her arm.
"I'm really happy for both of you, Yang."
Wrapping her arm around Weiss, she said, "I'm happy for all of us."
~Later~
Once the little announcement that Blake would be the one carrying their child first, Yang and Blake decided to go out for the day and have a little date night/evening together for the rest of the day, leaving Weiss and Ruby to have the whole suite to themselves.
Ruby was definitely grateful. She was still pretty tired from the last few days and couldn't wait to just relax, and of course cuddle her wife for the rest of her day. As she nuzzled her face deeper into Weiss's neck and feel the soft little flutters from her stomach, she couldn't be any more content. Now this was heaven. Best idea ever. And Weiss couldn't agree more since Ruby did win their little chess match earlier… and, who was she kidding, she was always ready to cuddle her wife all day as well.
Now that the couple was happily snugged together on the suite's couch, they were watching some fantasy animated movie Ruby found in the family section the hotel provided for them. It was about a mother's journey raising her children who also happen to be wolves. Weiss thought the film might be strange, but it was actually quite beautiful. She found herself totally immersed in the pure art and beauty of it. The story was simple, yet meaningful. The mother was absolutely resilient, meeting every challenge she had to face just so her and her children will survive and be happy. It made Weiss even more excited to have children of her own.
"This movie is amazing…" Ruby whispered next to her. "Like, it's so cool! Weiss, just look at them! Look at the mom doing all this just for her kids. It's so— so freaking awesome!" She emphasized throwing her hands up.
"I want to be like that… I want to be able to do and give that much to our children, Weiss. Mothers are really amazing and so strong, and I can't believe I get to be one with you-" She looked up to her wife, "-the most beautiful and incredible woman I know. I'm sooo lucky." She finished in awe as if she couldn't believe it.
Ruby said those words with so much sincerity, it melted Weiss's heart. She teared up a bit and buried her face in her wife's long hair.
"You dolt… I'm that one's that's lucky. Having someone like you be the mother of my child and our future children? It's the greatest fortune I've ever had in my life. And now Little Rose is too." She said and patted Ruby's swollen stomach affectionately.
This made the mother-to-be grin and give Weiss a tender chaste kiss then nuzzled their noses together. "We're gonna be okay. From what this movie has shown us and the other stuff we've read, it's gonna be super hard. And we'll probably cry a lot and not sleep very often, but we'll be great, Weiss."
The older woman chuckled then hummed, deep in thought as she appreciated Ruby's figure. "I suppose it will be a difficult ordeal… but I know by now you and I will be alright, Ruby."
"Oh?"
"Mhmm." She nodded to confirm and cupped her wife's cheek in her hands. "Yes, because you're my best partner, my best friend, and my better half. We've gone through so much, and so many challenges. So, this—" She gestures towards Little Rose, "—our baby, something that's a part us, we can definitely figure out." Weiss wanted to smile, but it was quickly replaced with confusion when she saw the slightly stunned and amused expression on her wife's face.
"What?" She asked.
Ruby was nearly grinning. "I am so rubbing off on you!" She gushed.
"What!"
Ruby giggled. "What you said! Your adorable little speech! It sounded just like something I would say to you." Now a full-blown grin grew on her lips and glint of pure glee shinning in her pools of silver.
"You are soooo cuuuuute~!"
"Gah! R-Ruby!" Weiss squirmed as her wife continued to nuzzle her face in her hair. With a huff she used her weight to push against Ruby and her endless affections, then quickly (but gently) flipped them over. Weiss noted this successfully halted any more gushing from the younger woman, and she smirked down her wife.
"U-um… Weiss, what are you doing honey?"
"Oh, nothing~." Weiss said a bit coyly, moving down and placing a sweet kiss on Ruby's swollen belly. "Just kissing my wife and feeling for my child's movements as usual." She said with a smile.
Weiss definitely would have enjoyed making love to her wife considering the other half of their team were out for a while at the moment and they were alone. But right now, she knew Ruby was tired and cuddles were the best medicine for a tired Ruby.
"Hehe~! Weiss, That tickles!" Ruby fidgeted from all the attention the CEO was giving her tummy area, but she still ran one hand through her wife's white locks. She loved it when Weiss being affectionate and cute like she was now. It was rare… and was really meant only for her. It made Ruby feel very special.
"Ruby, what do you think our child will look like?" Weiss asked out of the blue as she stared deep in thought at her wife's growing abdomen. "Do you think he or she will look more like me or you? Or be more like me or you? I keep thinking about all these questions whenever I get excited about our baby lately." She admitted, looking up back towards Ruby.
"Hmm…I think… they'll definitely look like you."
This revelation surprised Weiss. Her wife had sounded so sure about it.
"Really? Why do you say that?"
"I uh, I may have been dreaming about Little Rose often lately… hehe." Ruby rubbed the back of head awkwardly, a gesture she always did whenever she was nervous or anxious. "In my dreams, I keep seeing this beautiful baby in my arms and they always look just like you, Weiss! Really pretty white hair, that perfect smile, and your adorable nose!"
It made Weiss smile. "Well what about their eyes?"
"Oh, hmm… actually I don't think I've seen the baby open their eyes in my dreams…"
"Then maybe that means they have your eyes. If that's the case, I'd be happy. I love your eyes." Weiss said as she gazed at Ruby successfully making her blush.
"Oh? Hehe, is that the only thing you love about me?" She teased.
"Oh hush. You know, I love your abs too!"
"Weiss!" Ruby whined and lightly slapped her wife's arm.
"Kidding~, kidding~." Weiss chuckled, loving how cute her wife looked at the moment. "But you've been dreaming a lot about Little Rose lately, huh?"
Ruby nodded. "Uh, I guess I kinda just figured that it was Little Rose in my dreams because it was like holding a little baby version of you… and I'm not gonna lie, I really want our baby to look like you 'cause you know, you're super pretty… and stuff." She smiled shyly with her little confession.
Weiss quirked a brow. "And 'stuff' huh?"
"Stuff like you know… being super cool and nice and sweet, and… like being just my best friend and my best partner ever!"
This made Weiss grin. "Wow, well I guess I wouldn't mind it if our child was like that. But you know, Ruby…" She trailed off while she leaned forward gently kissed her wife's forehead. "If they ever had your eyes, I'd be in real trouble."
Ruby laughed at that.
"You can't handle my puppy eyes, Weiss. Gosh I'm so sorry if Little Rose picks that up from me."
Weiss really did internally panic… there was no telling what her wife and her child will do with such an advantage over her. Just imagining it mad her shudder. She could do it… maybe Ruby's puppy dog eyes over the years have given her a bit of an immunity or something! But another thing Weiss was dreading was…
"Oh god, and your sweet tooth, too!"
Ruby paled at that. "Oh no! Little Rose will steal my cookies!"
"Oh, the horror~!" Weiss feigned a scared realization then chuckled at her wife's expense. Well, maybe she was a bit worried herself over the issue. Ruby without her cookies was a nightmare.
"Ugh! Okay, okay! No more guessing their mannerisms! What about… um, oh! Names! We still haven't talked about name yet, Weiss."
That was a good point. Ruby was well halfway through her pregnancy and they hadn't even discussed names yet.
"Hmm, that's a good point. I'm not too sure actually. In my family line, we're named starting with the letter 'W' and represent white. But even if that's our tradition, I want to see our baby first before I could think of a suitable name, even if it doesn't follow what my family does."
"Oh, good! I was thinking of doing the same thing! Like, I was hoping that once we see our Little Rose, we'd just know what to call them." Ruby mused.
Weiss smile happily at their agreement and snuggled closer to her partner.
Ruby then giggled breaking their short silence.
"But you know, I had no idea that's how your family names worked! Because now I'm thinking maybe we can name our baby Weiss Jr.!"
"No." Was firmly replied.
A small whine was her response then another giggle.
"Winter Jr. then?"
"Most certainly not."
Another laugh.
"Whitley Jr. for sure then!"
"Ruby!"
While the Schnee-Rose couple had their teasing back and forth and little talks, Yang and Blake were busy somewhere by the ocean's shore taking a walk. They finally got the chance to be able to watch the sunset together. They walked hand-in-hand and enjoying the view while discussing their enjoyment about their plans after their little vacation.
However, after some time, Yang's scroll began to ring. She grinned down at the caller before answering.
"Hey! So, is everyone here on the island?... Yeah? Sweet!... and you got the gifts too? Great! I knew I could count on you~! Ruby and Weiss are totally going to flip when they see you guys tomorrow!... Mhmm… Yeah, thank you so much! Bye!"
Blake smirked when she overheard the conversation on the scroll.
"So, is everything we need set up?"
Yang grinned at her and kissed on her the cheek.
"Yep! And those girls are in for one sweet surprise."
Author's Note: Okay so, when I wrote this chapter there was really no reason to write the chess scene lol I only put that there because I really wanted write about them playing chess. Like that's it. No other reason… well and writing about how much Blake is enjoying her new smut book heh~! And yes, that was definitely a reference to Wolf Children because I freaking love that movie. As always please like, follow, and most definitely please review because I love reading your thoughts about my work! Thanks as always!
