Chapter 12 - Ben Daniels POV

"I'll get the others" Tony said suddenly, "They got to see this".

Gibbs nodded once, and he quickly ran out of the room, returning a few minutes later, breathless, with the four remaining members of their team.

Ducky.

Ziva.

McGee.

And Abby.

They gave me a weird look, before quickly focusing their attention back on the two-way mirror as Cub began speaking again.

"That's all you got to do Charles. Sign that, and it'll be all over".

"Never" He whispered, "I still have my rights, and you can't make me do this".

"LIKE HELL I CANT" Alex yelled, "I'm not a police officer. Your rights don't come into this. Fuck your lawyer. Fuck the judge. And fuck this state. This is simply between you, and doing what's right. I uncuffed you. You're free to go at any time. Nothing's preventing you from leaving this room this very second... Nothing, except your guilt".

"Please... Just stop".

"No. I told you before" He said, "I'm not gonna stop until I can officially place a SIGNED confession on top of Leon Vance's desk, and walk away knowing that you have to spend the rest of your short, miserable life behind bars... You said you did this for your grandmother, right?".

He slowly nodded.

Alex stared at him, "... Then imagine what she'd think of you now. To see you like this. Reduced to this, this quivering mess that doesn't even have the guts to face the consequences of his actions. I'd think she'd rather DIE than use the money earned from this, wouldn't you?".

He remained silent.

"Or, even worse, have to be put through what those families are feeling right now. They can't even have an open casket as the funeral thanks to you. The bodies are destroyed. Completely, positively, 100%, destroyed. Chopped. Sliced. Absolutely wrecked... Can you imagine what they must have felt identifying that body? Identifying that mangled corpse? Can you imagine putting your own grandmother, through that? Forcing her to come down to a dark, cold lab, after a 3am visit by the police? Being told that you, her only remaining family member, was dead? Having to watch as they pulled out your mangled, deformed, chopped up corpse? And force her to look at you for over 20 minutes because the body was so messed up she couldn't immediately identify you? Can you even IMAGINE, what that would be like?".

"Stop" Charles repeated, more firmly this time, "Stop talking. Stop saying those things".

"Oh, but it gets worse" Alex continued, "Because they're grandmothers didn't have to identify them. No, neither did their sisters. Not their brothers either. You know who NCIS had to call to identify the bodies? Their mothers. THEIR. MOTHERS. Can you even understand how horrible that is? Being told that your baby boy wasn't coming home for Christmas? That your little brother would no longer pay a visit every weekend? That your daddies not coming home? That your little angle didn't die in war at the hands of an enemy? That your ONLY CHILD GOT CHOPPED UP BY A MADMAN?".

Charles jumped out of his seat, standing face to face with the teenager, "I TOLD YOU TO STOP".

"You want me to stop?" Alex asked calmly, before pointing at his seat, "Then calm the fuck down. Get your ass back in that chair. And sign the bloody confession".

Charles stared at him for another minute, before finally breaking eye contact and slowly sitting back down.

With shaking hands, he reached down and picked up the pen, before reading through the confession.

Taking a deep breath, he slowly wrote his name on the dotted line, then handed the paper to Alex.

The teenager smiled slightly, heading towards the door, "That's all I ever wanted in the first place".

"That... Was... Amazing" Tony breathed.

The others were all still too shocked to even move, let alone speak.

Even Gibbs was pretty surprised at how Cub had handled it.

Then again, that kid always did have a strange way of being unpredictable.

That was why he was so valuable to MI6.

But now, it seemed NCIS was using him.

And that, would not work out.

It wouldn't work out for him.

Him being Cub.

It wouldn't work out for them.

Them being NCIS.

And it wouldn't work out for this entire nation.

This entire nation being this entire nation.

This whole system was going to final.

Dramatically.

And it was too late to stop it now.

Tony glanced down at the clock on the desk in front of us, and whistled, "He did all than in... 7 minutes 23 seconds".

Silence.

Gibbs opened the door just as Alex emerged, and the teen abruptly stopped when he saw him.

"Good work" Gibbs said, grinning at him.

Alex glanced through the door at us, catching my eye and shooting me a pointed look, before turning back to the NCIS agent, "You got to be kidding me".

He smirked, "You did pretty good kid".

Alex sighed, before looking over at me, "I really hate you, you know".

"I know" I replied grinning, before walking over and slapping him across the head.

He yelped and glared at me, "What the hell was that for?".

"For pinning me to a wall with a murder weapon" I replied, before pulling him into a tight hug, "I missed you Cub".

And to my surprise, he hugged back, "I missed you too, Fox".
