Hi, Commander:

I didn't have time to thank you properly after you got us out of the academy, and Admiral Hackett agreed to send this your way.

While my students are out on duty, I'm doing what I can to help with the Crucible. It's an amazing project, more advanced than anything I've ever seen before. Some of my more tech-minded kids are staying back to help out too, and watching them work… it's the future, Commander. This project will inform human progress for generations.

And they'll have you to thank for it.

All my best,
Kahlee Sanders

Any friend of Anderson's is a friend of mine. That being said, I wasn't about to let Cerberus take any of your students if I had anything to say about it.

I'm sure you'll be of use on the project, Dr. Sanders. From what I hear, it's a daunting task. The idea that your students are participating in its construction is amazing, but it certainly shows the promise they have. While using their talents to build a weapon is galling, I agree that it does show their promise and that in time, they'll have the chance to put that promise to our recovery after the war.

I'm just glad I could help in some small way.

Dear Commander Shepard:

I was a student at Grissom Academy. You and your team rescued us from Cerberus.

Part of the reason I'm writing is to say thank you for what you've done, on behalf of all of us here. If it weren't for you, who knows what might have happened to us.

The other reason I'm writing is because one of your crewmembers, Liara, emailed me to let me know I left my dog, KEI-9, on board. Or she snuck on. Or something.

I'm all the way out in [REDACTED] now and would hate for you to go [REDACTED] kilometers out of your way to drop off my dog. Please just take care of her. I put a lot of effort into making her, and after everything that's going on, she's more important to me now more than ever. She likes exploring, sniffing chemical trails, and 750 volt outlets.

Thank you and sorry for the trouble. I promise she won't be too much of a headache.

You're very welcome, and I'm glad you and your friends are safe.

I did manage to run into your dog, or rather, she ran into me. One of my engineers is taking good care of her and would be delighted to dog-sit for you while you work. I'll let her know about your dog's likes and habits. It's no trouble at all.

Good luck, and I hope the two of you are reunited soon.

A little something that Glyph brought to my attention. I thought maybe you'd like to send it to Admiral Anderson the next time you're in contact with him. I know how much he means to you.

You won't get this for a while, unless you find an extranet connection working on Earth. I've made it out to this weapon we're building. The device isn't even halfway complete and it's the most breathtakingly complicated piece of technology I've ever seen.

I wish you could see this thing we're creating. It gives me hope.

Take care, for my sake.

Thanks for this, Liara. I'll send it to him the first chance I get. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

P.S. You don't read my mail, do you?

I can't speak for everyone here… but maybe I do, maybe I don't. Wouldn't you like to know?
