"Come on," Clementine giggled, dragging George up the stairs. "Astronomy Tower, Take Two!"

It was after dinner. They'd sat together, giving each other shy, slightly shifty grins every so often. They didn't tell anyone, and no-one asked, for no-one noticed anything different. Clementine ate a lot, rather enthusiastically, and both the twins joined in quite happily.

"You're happy tonight," Skylar said, pushing her food around her plate miserably.

"Just a bit," Clementine shrugged. "What's up with you?"

Parvati leaned forwards. With a sympathetic glance at Skylar, she whispered, "Blaise hasn't spoken to her since their fourth date."

"Oh." Clementine, not really understanding dating and the rules of it, didn't have much else to say. She tried a suitably sympathetic grimace, but Skylar was staring down at her uneaten green beans.

"Do you want to talk later?" Clementine whispered to her, and she gave the tiniest of nods with a small, grateful smile that didn't meet her eyes.

But after dinner, Skylar went to sit alone in the corner with her homework on her lap, staring into the flames of the common room fire. Besides, Clementine had another idea. She went to change out of her robes, then found George.

"George, do you mind if I speak to you about something?" Clementine said to him quietly. George nodded. "Sorry Fred, I'm dragging him away for a few moments!"

"That's okay," said Fred, with a hint of a smirk. Clementine eyed him. She could have sworn there were moments at dinner where he had carefully watched the pair of them – but now was not the moment to dwell on things. Filch had caught them once; they might not be so lucky if there was a second time.

George followed her out of the common room and it was only when they were outside that she grabbed his hand and began yanking him up the corridor.

"Where are we going?" George asked, but Clementine wouldn't tell him.

"It's a surprise!"

George rolled his eyes, laughing. He was used to the way she was; excitable, adventurous and spontaneous.

Now they were up on the Astronomy Tower, and the sky was a fantastic peachy pink, flecked with orange and yellow. They stood, holding hands, looking out once more at the view (this time without Clementine nearly toppling out).

"The sun is setting, and you're right here by my side," Clementine sang quietly to herself, without really thinking about it.

"You're always singing," George said, a bit of an exaggeration but based on truth.

"I know," Clementine said with a smile. Her mind was on the stunning colours of the sunset; she wasn't a soppy romantic but she felt like it was the perfect scenery for what she hoped would be her first kiss. She allowed her hair to turn the same shade of peachy pink that the sky was.

"Delightful hair colour," George commented, "but it does clash with your jumper, if you don't mind me saying."

Clementine laughed and leaned into him.

"If it weren't for the jumper, the colour would look simply stunning-"

"George," Clementine said, looking up at him with a grin. "Shut up and kiss me already."

"Ever so romantic," George commented drily, but he grabbed her round the waist, though gently, and leaned in to kiss her. Their lips met, and electric volts shot through her entire body like lightning bolts; it was magical, far more magical than anything she'd ever done in her lessons. When they broke apart, they were both grinning madly.

"And here's me thinking you didn't have a romantic bone in your body, George Weasley," Clementine whispered, before grabbing him for another lip-lock.

~~~(O.O)~~~
By the time they got back to the Common Room, Clementine was bursting to tell Skylar, but one look at her best friend told her not to mention this new step down Romance Lane. She sat down, and adopted the sort of expression one would at a funeral.
"What's up, Skye?"
"You heard Parvati earlier," Skylar said, sounding even more dismal. "He won't talk to me, and he won't even acknowledge me."
"I always knew he was a slimy bastard," Clementine said. "Honestly, Skye, you could do better than him. Yeah he's good-looking, but he's a bit of a dickhead. No offence."
"I know. I just thought, you know, after we kissed that maybe it was going somewhere. He was just leading me on though, wasn't he?"
"Urm... sounds like it, possibly." Clementine didn't want to commit to agreeing in case it was wrong.
"You know what," Skylar said, sitting up in her seat; the untouched homework and quill fell to the floor. "I am done with that douchebag. I'm gonna show him."
"Good!" Clementine said, thinking that this new, confident, non-dismal Skylar was a vast improvement.
"I'm gonna look so goddamn good," Skylar went on, giving no indication that she had heard Clementine. "You know, that Adrian Pucey asked me out just after my second date with Blaise? I think I might take him up on the offer – he's an older guy too," she finished, with a glint in her eye.
Clementine didn't dare try to stop her, but she saw George looking over at her quizzically, so she waited until Skylar went to find Lavender, beaming in a rather self-satisfied way, then made her way over to him.
"She looks suspiciously happy."
"Only because she's going for that Pucey guy in your year."
George pulled a face. "Not him, he's vile. He's in most of my lessons; it's all I can do not to hex him into oblivion most of the time."
"Could you do me a favour and keep an eye on her if you see her round school? And if they start going out, let me know if he says any shit about her, yeah?"
He didn't look happy, but he nodded.
"Have you told Fred?" she asked him. "You know, about tonight?"
He shook his head. "No. Did you tell Skylar?"
"Thought I'd better not."
"Guess this is our little secret then," George said casually. "How thrilling."
