And here's another chapter for all you lovelies. This one doesn't really meet my expectations...but ah, I tried. I feel like I broke a lot of characters and just did bad. But I hope you all like it? It kinda just describes what went on while Molly was out, and sets the scene for next chapter.

A crappy chapter from what you got last time, basically.

Uh-hmm.

Next chapter you guys will be getting more Wizard...I think. Maybe. I haven't started it.

I totally plan things out shut up.

Okay I'll figure it out. Be patient. Please don't hate my terrible writing. It'll get better. I'm just burnt out from finals, okay?

Good luck to everyone who still have a week or two left of school, congrats to new graduates, and all that stuff!

Love you all vuv

Chapter 12

Coma Catch-up

Molly's P.O.V.

Molly felt something tickling her nose as consciousness finally wormed its way back to her. She refused to open her eyes for a few moments, but when she finally did manage to crack her brown eyes open, she found the source of the tickle to be a long strand of black hair. As her eyes traced up to it's owner, she felt her face go red. Doctor Jin. She cleared her throat as best she could. It felt groggy.

At the sound of Molly's raspy noise, Jin jerked away. Molly attempted to cover her reddened face with her hands, but her brown gaze was glued to the doctor. Doctor Jin gave a sigh, though Molly wasn't sure if it was from relief or exasperation.

"Thank the Goddess, you're awake." He breathed. Yeah, it had been relief. "You had everyone worried sick!" He smiled gently down at the girl, and her blush only deepened. She ended up averting her gaze, hand clenched over her mouth.

"She's awake, Jin?" Came the familiar voice of Irene. The elderly woman came around the curtain, the same relief printed on her face. "Go call Kasey! Oh, he'll be so relieved."

Jin opened his mouth, the expression on his face reading something along the lines of, 'I'm the doctor, why don't you call him?' But his mouth snapped shut when he received a harsh glare from his grandmother. He stood and slunk from the room.

Molly looked up at Irene, the color of blush fading from her cheeks. "What happened?" She asked. Her face paled. "Y-you don't have to tell Kasey!" She stammered.

Irene frowned down at Molly. "Molly, dear, you've been out for nearly a week. Kasey already knows." The woman pulled up a chair and took a seat beside the bed. Her wrinkled hand wrapped around one of Molly's as she looked her in the eye. She opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Jin as he came back into the room.

"We're the ones who should be asking the questions." He said as he came to stand beside Irene. "You didn't have a concussion and you had no signs of exhaustion prior to the event. Nothing plausible could have knocked you out for so long." His lips tightened and he tapped his head. "I really don't know what could have caused this. Molly, what were you doing? Julius mentioned a run-in with Witch Princess?"

Molly jerked forward. "Did you tell Kasey?" She asked, panic taking over her face.

"Julius requested that we keep that much confidential." Irene assured, earning her a sigh of relief from the brunette. She glared up at Jin. "Jin, why don't we let the poor girl get her rest? You seem to forget that she's just woken up from a coma."

Jin muttered an apology, and disappeared from the room, leaving Irene and Molly alone again. "To answer your question, Molly, Julius brought you here after you passed out. Jin and I were examining you after he'd gone, and he returned with that man from up the hill just a short time later. Wizard." Molly gave Irene a curious look, but Irene shook her head. "Naturally we weren't going to let him in without yours or Kasey's permission, although he insisted. We called Kasey soon after that, once we'd finished stabilizing your condition." Molly leaned into her pillows to get comfortable. She felt curiosity pique at the fact that Julius had brought Wizard to her of all people. Her memory of the moments before her black-out were foggy and she couldn't remember much at the moment.

"We couldn't get ahold of him until around 9 that night. He rushed in immediately, and we couldn't get him to leave until 6 the next day, the 25th." She paused. "Today is the 30th." She informed. Molly's eyes widened. She really had been out for a long time. Fall was just around the corner. She looked up as Irene continued. "I assume he left to make personal calls to your parents. Wizard came in only a short time later." She shook her head. "We still didn't allow him in." Irene smiled lightly. "You're quite popular Molly. You've had nearly the entire population of Castanet visit you during your stay this past week."

Molly flushed, and giggled. "Really?" She asked. Irene nodded. "I wouldn't have guessed."

Irene chuckled at her comment and continued. "Yesterday afternoon Kasey showed up again, and Wizard was with him." She shrugged scratched her head, as if perplexed. "He asked us if Wizard could have a look at you. You were doing well, honestly. You were healthy and in good condition, just...unconscious. Since Kasey insisted this time, Doctor Jin let Wizard in." Irene looked back up at Molly. "After that they both left, and now here you are, awake and healthy."

"I see…" Molly murmured after a few minutes of silence between the two. Within that time span, Irene had stood up once more and had begun brushing up the room. She cracked the window open to let in light and fresh air. "Thank you, Irene. And thank Jin for me, too." She stated, blushing slightly. She stared out the window. Irene murmured a reply, and left Molly to herself in the white room.

Molly stretched out under the covers, flinching as an IV tugged at her arm. She squirmed until she was comfortable again, and settled under the thin sheets. Her mind whirred as she tried to remember what had happened before her untimely faint. She'd been with Julius, out to see the Witch Princess. When they left… Molly jerked up again. Her mind screeched to a halt as she remembered the bottle of gas that had choked her up in their departure from the witch's house. Had that been a spell of some sort? She grinded her teeth. She hadn't thought too much of it at the time, but honestly, it made sense. Here on Castanet, magic was anything but impossible.

Molly's thoughts were broken off when she heard the familiar voice of Kasey. She turned her head and was met with muddy overalls and the fresh smell of a hard days work. Oh, how refreshing it was. Despite the revolting stench Kasey gave off, Molly wrapped her arms around her brother and returned him embrace.

"Goddess, Molly." Kasey's voice wavered, and Molly began to feel incredibly guilty. He wasn't crying, was he? When Kasey finally pulled away, Molly gave a sigh of relief. He wasn't, but he looked on the verge. He sat down beside her and held her hand. His callused grip was much less gentle than Irene's, but held all the love of a brother. "I thought...I-I thought…" Molly looked at her brother's face once more. "I don't know what I thought. But I'm glad this is the one that came true." He squeezed Molly's hand and she grunted.

"If you squeeze any harder, you won't have a hand to squeeze." Molly snorted, grinning cheekily.

"And of course your first words to me are a snarky comment." Kasey retorted playfully, though he eased his grip. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm...I'm okay." Molly responded, her sassy attitude dissipating almost instantly. t was replaced with confused solemnity.

"Molly, I don't want to stress you out…" Kasey murmured, rubbing his thumb rhythmically against Molly's palm. "I still don't know if Wizard got rid of the effects of the spell, or if it really was a spell…" He hesitated and turned his gaze to Molly's. The pair of browns met eachother. "Molly, I know you went to see Witch Princess."

Molly tensed up and immediately avoided Kasey's gaze. Her mind whirred on more as she tried to think of an excuse. "I-I Uhm-"

"No, Molly, don't." Kasey said, reaching his unoccupied hand to shake Molly's shoulder. Her brown eyes flicked to look at him once more, guilt swimming in them like fish. "I don't even care. You did it because I wouldn't talk to you about it. You got hurt because I was too stubborn." Molly dared to look up, and felt her heart clench at what met her eyes. Now her brother really was crying. It wasn't big tears, but the streak that ran from his eye to his chin was enough to break her heart. Why had she gone and gotten involved? She should have just waited until Kasey was ready to open up about it. She would have done anything to stop her brother from feeling bad enough to cry. She pulled her hand away from his and leaned forward as far as she could, collecting her older sibling in a huge hug.

"I'm okay, Kasey. It doesn't matter to me." She whispered, digging her face into his shoulder. "Take your time with what you have to say. I'll leave it alone. Please don't cry. Don't cry over me."

"Shut up. I'm not crying." Kasey defended, sniffling. He pulled away to wipe at his face. He sighed, and smiled lightly at his little sister. "I don't want to hide it from you. Not if it means you're going to go get into trouble again." He reached out a hand, cupping Molly's cheek. His thumb swept a couple tears away, and she blinked in surprise, not even having noticed she'd been crying.

At that moment, shuffling came from behind the curtains and Doctor Jin emerged from behind the white hanging cloth. "My apologies if I'm interrupting something." He stated. He held a clipboard in his hand and gestured to it. "Kasey if it's okay with you, we would like to keep Molly here for a couple days to monitor her health."

"Of course." Kasey almost immediately agreed. Without anything else to discuss, Jin turned and left again. Molly's eyes trailed after him until he was out of sight.

She turned back to Kasey, sticking her tongue out at his smug grin and muttering, "Shut up."

"I need to call Mom and Dad to let them know you're alright." Kasey murmured. "They were fussing about coming down to see you."

Molly nodded and after a few more minutes of talking, Kasey left the room. Molly sighed and leaned back in her bed. Her arms fell back behind her head and she closed her eyes, going over all of the new information from today in her head. Excitement bubbled in her stomach. Kasey was finally going to trust her!

She grimaced. How did Kasey even know about Witch Princess? Julius wouldn't have told him, and if something was confidential in a doctor's office, they kept it that way. Maybe he was just really good at guessing? Molly groaned. More mysteries for her to solve. Maybe she would ask Kasey tomorrow. But for now, she was tired again. Not the same tired she had been from before her coma, but just a sleepy tired. One that came from new information overworking her mind. So she adjusted herself to be comfortable and slowly but surely drifted off into sleep.
