I was going to post this up tomorrow but then I remembered today is May 4... as in may the fourth (force) be with you. Haha, I loved Star Wars... the original ones, not the current ones or the current reincarnation of the universe. Sorry, just old school I guess (like Six).
Thank you guests again for your reviews. Good to hear from you X. And a big hi to Spektor vox! I didn't know you were reading this so now I'm a little nervous. I don't think I'll be doing a teen Six series any time soon. There's some hint in it in my Generator Rex: Six's story (shameless plug) if you haven't already checked it out. Happy May 4!
I don't own Gen Rex.
Rabble
"Six?"
"Yes?"
"Come take a walk with me to the exam room."
"Why? What's wrong?"
"I need to talk to you and I need you to talk to Rex with me."
"About?"
" About what happened in Hong Kong, Six."
"What do you mean?"
"Rex, is sitting on the exam table waiting for me..."
"So? He usually goes to the exam room immediately after a mission."
"You didn't let me finish. Yes, he usually comes immediately, but this time he milled around his room before coming. When he finally came, he's sighing like he lost his best friend. And the most disturbing part… not a single pick up line. I told him I had to get some things from my lab. But I'm worried about his mental health."
"I think I know what's wrong."
"What?"
"When we were in Hong Kong he found out a little about his past."
"Really? That's great!"
"Not really. He found out he was apart of a street gang."
"And?"
"And apparently he was a top lieutenant in a crime syndicate run by a notorious EVO named Quarry."
"Wait, Quarry? Isn't he wanted in several Asian Countries for..."
"Yes, the same. But we have him in custody now."
"Well, that's good. But that doesn't explain why Rex is so… melancholy."
"That's not the half of it. In order to get out of the gang, he apparently sold out his friends..."
"That doesn't sound like Rex."
"But evidence points to it… Rex is upset at the person he seemed to have been. He can't remember anything about it though."
"No wonder he is so... preoccupied."
"He's more than that. He's also worried about losing his memory again. I think it finally occurred to him that he is living on borrowed time."
"Don't say that, Six. He's not dying."
"But his memory may be."
"There must be something we can do."
"Well, I think there is. Do you mind stopping by my room before we see Rex?"
"Of course. But what do you have in mind?"
"You'll see."
"I hate it when you're being secretive. Well, we're here. Go on! Get whatever it is you're going to get."
"Impatient, Doctor Holiday?"
"Just curious, Agent Six. Now go before I kick you…. And wipe that smirk off your face."
"Yes, doctor."
"… You got it yet?"
"Right here."
"Oh wow, Six. Let me see. It's nice. Real leather cover. When did you get this?"
"When we had a stopover in Japan."
"You went out?"
"There was a stationary store by the station. I went in to see if I could find one of these. What Rex needs is something to help him feel he has some control over his life."
"That was… very profound, Six."
"Why do you look so surprised?"
"I don't know. You're always surprising me. I actually was going to suggest tape recordings but this is just as good… and I always thought writing was a lost art."
"Me too."
"Really?"
"Why do you think I carry a pen with me at all times?"
"So you can use it as a concealed weapon."
"I have before but that was not the original intent."
"Mmm-hmmm. I'm sure. But it does give new meaning to the pen is mightier than the sword."
"It is if you use it right… aim for the jugular."
"You scare and fascinate me, Six. Let's get back to Rex. I left him in there for an awful long time. He's probably wondering where I went to."
"Lead the way."
"I know he'll love this journal. Thanks, Six."
"He doesn't have much of a choice."
"But you do and you always choose what is right."
"You give me too much credit."
"I like to give credit where it's due. Okay, we're here. Are you ready?"
"I'm just going to give him a journal not perform surgery."
"Oh why do I bother? Anyway, here it goes... Hey, Rex look who I bumped into. You don't mind if he stays while I finish the rest of the exam do you? No? Good. Now let's take a look at your biometrics."
