So what were you all for Halloween?
I know that this is off-topic and stupid, and I LOVE EUGENE, but is it weird that I think Rapunzel and Hiccup would make an amazingly cute couple? It's not a popular ship, I know, but still... just THINK about it. I just recently have I think it would be great. Elsa and Hiccup friendship is like the cutest to me though. Not that that matters.
AND NO I AM DEFINITELY NOT PUTTING THAT SHIP IN HERE, just so you know. Just saying that if you are a Rapunzel/ Hiccup fan, I totally support and get you, man.
(...and if anyone could make some really cute fan art of that I would love them forever... but you know, whatever.)
So this is a Halloween chapter, and a sort of filler. I really just wanted to include this because I wanted to give them costumes so whatever.
Chapter 11- Matching
"...Lingering..."

After scaring her mother a second time for disappearing with Jack without warning, it was difficult to convince Mrs. Summers to let Elsa accompany Jack, Anna, and Pippa for trick-or-treating. Elsa had already been walking on thin ice, but the worried mother finally relented with a few promises, and of course, Anna's puppy eyes helped a little bit. Jack wasn't even sure why Elsa wanted to come- she didn't have a costume. He was sure that eighty-five percent of the reason was to meet his little sister.
And he might've let himself believe that the other fifteen was to see him.
A guy had to hope, and with the way they were flirting just the few days before had him convinced that Elsa had to feel something for him. And he had, technically, asked her out, and she, in return had, technically, said yes. Anna hadn't known where they had been or if they were in fact with each other that night, but Jack figured that he would get hell for it from Snotlout or even from Bunny, if he caught word of it. Jack pondered on what might transpire if Anna had found out that he had the hots for her sister, and made out with her in her room when she was high and vulnerable. Yikes. That did not sound good.
He stopped himself again because this war had gone on in his head for too long, and always with the same outcome: no answer, and it was becoming really annoying. He sighed, pushing his hair out of his face. He currently sat as Spiderman in the entry room in the Summers' residence, waiting for the two sisters to be ready. Pippa sat next to him on the teal velvet couch, decked in a pink puffy dress with peppermint candies and other sweets she had superglued on, her hair tied up and topped with a plastic tiara. Sensing his frustration, she looked up at him in question, but he just ruffled her hair to which she whined and told him to stop.
"Hey! I'm gonna run to Kristoff's house like, really really quickly." Anna bounded down the stairs. She was in a vintage, floral, pink dress with her hair tied back and brushed straight (for once). "I have to make sure we match!"
Jack protested, "You're running to his house in your costume? Can't it wait?""
And she was out the door without a real explanation, "I'm sorry! I'll meet you at Tooth's!"
"Jackson?" Jack turned to see Elsa slowly descending the stairs. Like she had promised, she wasn't wearing a costume. Instead, was dressed more warmly than their night on the rink, but not as conservative as before. A stylish, mint green coat adorned her petite shoulders, a dark collared shirt tucked underneath. A wine-purple pencil skirt, fine tights, and black boots flattered her long legs and-ahem- other nice things. He admired her, and she blushed from behind her hair, which had been pushed back by a simple black headband, her bangs brushed and styled to look thicker.
"Jack."
"Huh?"
"I called your name three times." Pippa said, voice dripping with annoyance. The face she gave him, however, said something else. A light smirk similar to his own passed over her face for a split second, and her eyes glinted with mischief that had taken root as they flickered from Jack, to Elsa, and back to him. Jack became nervous, because when Pippa found dirt on him she was merciless; it was revenge for all the times he would mess with her. "Come on, Jack, I want to get candy."
Elsa giggled next to him, and he rolled his eyes, which he then crossed and stuck out his tongue. She mirrored the same look, but with a raspberry. Jack just sighed for about the twenty-ith time that night, and they hadn't even started, and slipped on his red mask. He knew that later into the evening Pippa would get tired and grouchy, demanding him to hold her candy bag, which would weigh like a ton by then, and let her go barefoot into the streets. It happened every year for the past six, and he's often wondered how he's survived.
"Hi Pippa, I'm Elsa." the teen crouched so she was eye level with the nine-year-old.
"Hi!" Pippa chirped back.
"So who are you for Halloween?"
"Penelope from 'Wreck-it Ralph'."
"You look so cute!"
They left when the sun had just begun to set, and the girls were in light chatter. It was a little early but Pippa wouldn't pipe down. A few other kids had waved to his little sister as they went house to house, and Jack chuckled when a particular boy with brown hair had and Pippa had just about squealed to herself afterwards. Pippa had also taking quite a liking to Elsa, and she to Pippa, because she would prance right at her ankles and ask the blonde to come up to the door with her. Jack was truly enjoying himself, until-
"Are you Jack's girlfriend?" Jack's heart leapt out of his throat, and had to keep himself from lunging at his sister. His face and ears burned, and he looked away. Pippa seemed too excited, and Jack didn't know if it was because she really liked Elsa and the thought of them dating, or just because she liked to embarrass him. He didn't understand how she could send a devious grin his way and still look at the older girl with angelic eyes.
Jack anticipated her answer, really eager to her words, and dreading it at the same time. Elsa laughed good-naturedly, faint blush on her cheeks, "Well..."
"Elsa!" Hiccup came limping out of his house with an enormous basket of sweets, a metal bowl-shaped hat on his head with a dull horn on either side. He wore a shabby green long-sleeved shirt tonight, with a brown furry vest and a pair of Uggs (or, one, because of his prosthetic). Jack's eyebrow rose so high it could have brushed his hairline, and his chortles were muffled behind his mask.
"Hello Hiccup." Elsa smiled.
"Dude, are you wearing Uggs?" He supposed it wasn't too strange, but it really just didn't suit him.
"I'm supposed to be a viking."
"Last I checked, vikings don't wear Uggs."
"Whatever. It matched the costume." Hiccup proceded to straightened one of his horns.
"Since when does that matter to you?"
"We should really get going to Tooth's. Anna's waiting with Kristoff and the rest." Elsa gained Jack's attention with a gentle touch of his shoulder, checking her phone, the screen lighting up her face in the dimming daylight. Everyone else agreed, but Jack's mind only went to the way her hand lingered there on his arm.

("Hey! Elsa, you decided to dress up!")
("What?")
("AW! You and Jack look sooo cute! Why didn't you tell me? We could've matched instead! cause you know, we're sisters.")
("I'm sorry, I'm confused.")
("You make a really cute Gwen Stacy, because of your blonde hair. That's a really good idea.")
("Anna, Elsa isn't wearing a costume.")
("Here, let me take a picture!")
(But we're not-)
("Ooooh this is so going on my Instagram! First Halloween together! Jack, put your mask on- Tooth, don't they look cute?")
(...)
(Okay, that's good! Aw. Oh, now can someone take a picture of me and Kristoff, I worked really hard on our costumes this year- HEY! You promised you that you'd keep your glasses on!")
("But they're so big-")
(Put them back on! And dammit you messed up your hair! Tooth, do you have any hair gel?")

Eight friends, Hiccup, Tooth, Anna, Kristoff, Rapunzel, Flynn, Elsa, and Jack hung out in the diningroom and kitchen area of Tooth's house while Pippa and a few of her own buddies walked around the neighborhoods. The gold and stained glass ornaments had class, but her home kept the same welcoming, hospitable atmosphere that Jack liked much more than the tension in his own house. Anna continued to comb hair gel through Kristoff's gold locks, despite the fact that they were only passing out candy (or, in their case, walnuts, bananas, few lollipops and toothbrushes because Tooth was that person on Halloween).
"Who are you supposed to be, anyway?" Jack asked them.
Anna whined, as if offended, "Carl and Ellie from Up."
He raised his hands in surrender, sharing an amused smile with Flynn, who was matching with Zel as a burglar/ criminal type character, complete with matching black blindfold-mask things and striped, form-fitting shirts. They all sat and chat, eating some of the candy that was meant for the kids who came knocking at the door.
Elsa had eaten four toosiepops within the same hour.
This isn't something Jack would normally care about, if it had been Anna, or maybe Merida, but the swirl of her tongue and the pucker of her lips around the hard candy drove his mind wild and sucked away any moisture from his mouth.
Of course, Eugene of all people in the room would catch his lingering stare. The older boy, his self-proclaimed wingman, best friend, whatever, nudged him. Weeks ago Jack would've found himself fantasizing about whether her lips would taste like cherries or the chocolate candy center, but he knew now. To his utter embarrassment Eugene knew he knew; he could see it in the suggestive waggle of his eyebrows. Jack shoved him, playfully.
He told him, "Shut up." when Flynn hadn't said anything. Sometimes, he felt, they didn't really need to. Jack grabbed his own toosiepop, thinking of cherries, and chocolate, and peppermint.

This is one of my first fics, so if you'd all be so kind...
Please bear with me, and note that I don't have much time to write, type, or edit. The story may be a little rushed (or slow), some chapters may be a little short, there will be many typos, and this in all will not be my best work. I also procrastinate a LOT.
I'm mostly doing these stories for the fun of them, so please go easy with the criticism.
Thank you all for reading!
